I went during Christmas time when it was extremely busy and packed walking around. They had an assortment of books, clothes, dishes, pins, beanie babies, toys, anything you can think of. There was so many unique items for a reasonable price. I expected the prices to be more on certain items because they're so unique. There weren't many people around to help because it was busy so you have to track someone down. When you're ready to pay you head towards the front of the store and they check you out. The cashier was very nice and asked me how my experience went and commented on my purchases. This is a cool store to visit and shop at if you're ever nearby.

It used to be cute and kitschy, with some real oddities and unique pieces for sale at decent prices. Today, what I saw was just tragic. It's largely fast fashion branded clothing without the fast fashion prices, anime merchandise for the weebiest of weebs, mass produced trinkets/toys I recognized from the AliExpress catalogue, and some actually vintage items being sold at a price anyone familiar with the brands would never actually pay. With the amount of eyebrow-raisers that I saw, I didn't feel confident that items from other vendors that I'm not as familiar with like porcelain figures, glassware, jewelry, and paintings were actually genuine antiques or being sold at fair prices. I noticed a lot of young'uns browsing the store who seemed to be having a pretty good time, so maybe I'm just old and it's not for my demographic. In my mind though, this isn't what should be sold at an antique store. I would love to see whoever's in charge be choosier with their vendors.

The atmosphere here is far different from all the stores I've been to in the area. Although small, it's packed and wonderfully staged into small sections which makes it easier to envision items in your space; which is something most stores don't take time to do. Clothing is limited, but carefully curated and organized into sweaters, outwear, pants, and even plus sizes (which I haven't seen in other stores). COME HERE IF ... you're looking for furniture and unique Knick knacks and accessories for your home. There's a lot of it and this is the first store where I wanted to purchased everything I practically laid my eyes on. DOWNSIDE ... I laid my eyes on a table set I wanted to purchase for my soon to be first apartment, however, I decided to walk through the whole store first before coming back to purchase it. IT WAS SOLD by the time I walked back towards the front of the store. LESSON LEARNED HERE IS if you want something buy it right then and there because you quite frankly, YOU WILL NOT FORGET IT (a fitting name for the store) AND BE SAD YOU DIDN'T GET IT. There was also another girl who purchased the exact mini lamp I wanted on my way out as I was contemplating what I wanted to purchase. If you want something here just buy it because chances are it won't be there if you come back again. Ultimately, I will be back and feel like I found a gem with this location and everything is reasonable priced.

With how beautiful and historic downtown Riverside is, this shop is a disappointment…read more Many of the items sold in the store are items from Walmart, Home Goods and other department stores that have a 'rustic' or 'vintage' look. The owner is purchasing and upselling (up to triple the price from the department store). The owner does sprinkle some antiques around the store but the items are overpriced. It's also kind of weird that the owner has a huge photograph of herself behind the cashier counter. Not a fan of this store when there are plenty of other stores worth shopping at walking distance.

I got about a third of the way into the store, admiring the wide array of vintage food craft tools - when I came upon the prominent display of the T-shirt "Try that in a small town". Knowing that this is a racist T-shirt advocating the lynching of African-Americans I realized that it was an intentional statement to black and brown people so I immediately left the store and wrote this second review. The first review was removed by Yelp because I gave it five stars. That's why I adjusted it to one star. Presently no one should patronize the store if they have a conscience and are wanting to make the world a better place.

Look out for the cute, shabby chic display window and you'll know you're at the right shop. There's even an adorable wooden sign in the shop window inscribed "Mrs. Darling" so you can't miss it. Upon first walking in, the shop has a cute, boutique-feel to it and is stocked with adorable vintage items, accessories, clothing, housewares, etc. I found just the cutest dresses, and there was a style available from nearly every era! You won't find prices similar to those of the dirt cheap thrift stores (where their clothing stock is based solely on donations); you'll find that this is indeed more a "vintage shop," and not necessarily a "thrift shop". But for the excellent quality of the clothing pieces, the prices are REASONABLE. You're definitely paying for quality because the dresses and trousers available are in wonderful condition. The owner is such a sweet and patient woman, and is eager to help you search for anything in particular. The bathroom doubles as the dressing room, so you do have the option to try on the clothing. Everything in this shop is well-curated and of really good condition/gently used. So if you're a vintage hunter, check out Mrs. Darling!
