Heard about this place and went there on a Saturday night for drinks. The wait staff were awesome. Our waiter was on top of things , the bouncer was social and sweet , the owners went above and beyond to make us feel at home, they went around talking to everyone , they even ask us and others request for music, they accommodated us with every song, even us 80s babies lol which was great. Gaslight is called a bar and grille but the prices do not reflect that at all. Aside from that, they were out of all Chardonnay by 6:00 on a Saturday night and the steak dish I ordered was the filet, not the ribeye. I had to remind the server when we got our bill to make the adjustment as far as the price because the bill reflected the ribeye which I did not originally order. All I was told by the server was "sorry, that's my bad." Considering the price of the steak is around $40, the ambience and lack of friendliness of the staff isn't worth it. Also, since I ordered a filet I figured I would be able to eat the majority of it. Since they brought a ribeye which I did not originally order and ribeyes are normally very fatty, I ate 1/3 of the steak and was able to take maybe another 1/3 home leaving a lot of it on the plate. The only thing that would make me go back to this place is the fact that they have open mic night on Wednesday nights and live music. Let's start with the good. The decor and vibe inside was great! The DJ was fantastic! The waitress was attentive and friendly. The food tasted good and was fresh. Now the bad...my group got to the restaurant at 7pm on a Thursday evening. The parking lot was completely empty and we were required to park valet. Once inside, we were the only people in the restaurant. The background music (not DJ) was blasting, so much so that we asked the waitress to turn it down a little so we could talk, and not shout, over dinner. The food and drinks were VERY pricey! One glass of wine was the same price of an entire bottle. The food was tasty, but extremely expensive. Once the DJ started, the music was great and people started flooding in. We had a great evening here, and we were pleasantly surprised how delicious the food was at this unassuming location behind a gas station! They have an excellent chef who used to work at Hal's, and you can tell he knows what he's doing. They have created an upscale atmosphere with live entertainment and fine dining. It's one of the few restaurants off of Canton Street downtown Roswell that has enough space for a band and dance floor. The staff was friendly and we will be back. They have open mic night, poker night, and live entertainment. I'm from New Orleans, and I was pleased how amazing the Chargrilled Oysters were, and they were 1/2 off at happy hour ;) They actually have a parking lot which is a bonus for Canton Street restaurants. We ordered an old fashioned, and it was terrible. They tried to remake it, but somehow the second round was even worse. The atmosphere is great. The Men in Blue band was a very good band for dancing; so lots of people got out on the dance floor. Fortunately, there was plenty of room for dancing. The service was TERRIBLE! I realize they had a good crowd, but what I went through was ridiculous. Why doesn't management staff appropriately for the conditions? I waited 15-20 minutes to be greeted and asked if I wanted something to drink only after I flagged down the waitress serving the table next to us. "Yes, iced tea and a menu, please." (I was driving and had been warned that the prices for well drinks didn't include the price of the mixer.) Finally, a menu appeared and later, my iced tea. The food finally migrated to our table, guided by a nice man, probably from the kitchen. The food was OK, but nothing to brag about, and pricey, I thought. When I wanted my check so I could leave, all the waitresses had disappeared or were at the far end of the building. Eventually, one got within waving distance, saw my oscillating hand, and agreed to provide a check. Another long wait after a fast vanishing act by the server (I might have heard a sonic boom, but it could have been from the band's drummer). The wait topper now started! After a 20-minute wait for payment, I'd had it. I got up to leave; and half way to the door, I found my path blocked by a husky waitress. I told her that I'd waited long enough to pay and that I was leaving. She escorted me, without handcuffs, to the server station where I presented my charge card. I explained to the manager there would be no tip included in my payment, something I hadn't done in several decades under the same type of check and payment chasing conditions. He offered no objection or excuse for the poor service, and I left. My advice, for what little it's worth: Eat before you come and bring cash. read more

This is the best kept secret in Roswell! Tucked in a corner nest to the Sunoco, it's a little hard to find, but worth the effort! The food is just outstanding, last night I had the fried pork chop and the creamiest mashed potatoes, my partner had the chicken parm and it was so big, so took most of it home (lucky me!). The wine list is not very extensive, but their "house wines" are a good find. The cocktail program is very impressive with a bar staff that knows what they are doing. Extremely disappointing. On a busy Friday night with a popular band playing, they had only 1 bartender and 2 waiters. The manager actually had to help bartender because it was taking over 30 mins to get a drink. The bar was not properly stocked, missing common liquors such as Titos. We arrived quite late after watching the fights Saturday night and even though the kitchen was closed, Mike the owner went the extra mile by going in the kitchen and getting us some smoked salmon and raw oysters. Looking for a place to meet in Roswell area for two. Based on info online, it seemed worthwhile. I got confused where it was located as it's located in a corner property that also is connected to a gas station. It also looked like a club on the outside. Once inside, there was a nice crowd. Very attentive waitress. The food is a bit pricey for a "bar and grill" but the food was very good. The drinks we had were well mixed and strong. A live band started around 10pm and they were good. They played soft rock covers and a few oldies. As the night went on, it got pretty crowded on the dance floor and as the night got even later the crowd got younger. The server told us how that with brunch the mimosas were bottomless, after having food and a few drinks; we received the checks in which we were charged for each one independently. This was my first time coming here and I was disappointed. The food was great but the service was slow. The place rips you off big time, They have hidden charges they don't tell you about. Unless you pay cash they charge you an extra 5.00 to your bill. Then if you order a martini they charge you an extra Martini charge. The Martini on the menu was 12.00 each so we ordered 4 at 12.00 , so they added an extra 9.00 charge for ordering a Martini. On top of that the Valet was 5.00. The food takes long to come out. Went to Gaslight for the first time with friends last night. Was so disappointed with the service and food. My meal came out 30 minutes after the other 5 meals in our party. Our waiter admitted to me he had put in the wrong order, then asked me if I would accept the other fish cooked because it would take a while to make the correct meal (please note, we were one of maybe 5 parties in the whole restaurant). I told him I wanted the original meal ordered. While I was in the restroom the waiter tried to convince my husband to take the fish that was already made vs what I ordered(again). Our friend's side dishes came out 15 -20 min after their meals and when everyone ordered dessert, our waiter forgot again what we ordered and brought out another wrong item. To help make up for the 30 min delay on my meal, they comped one of our desserts(ridiculous). The food was nothing special- and very expensive. I will never go back. Infuriating. read more
