This is a restaurant inside a hotel. It's very nice and only slightly less expensive than Sloughouse Kitchen or Sheldon Inn. Our server was excellent! We were never want for anything. Both couples in our party were sharing salad then main course with our partners, she had the salads split and brought spare plates for the entree. Two birthdays are the reason we went here. The meal was excellent. Only thing is though, I had looked up the menu here in Yelp and it listed the stuffed zucchini in the online menu you would order from for door dash. And that item was no longer available. Shame. It sounded so good and the reason I chose this restaurant. Birthday dessert needed to go home with us even though we as couples had shared the meals, there was food in abundance and no room for the treat! We had an excellent summer meal out on the patio this week. The menu has recently been updated and offered a number of new choices - I actually had a difficult time deciding between several items. The kids menu more than covers the basics and is a generous enough portion to satisfy the upper end of the age range. Thank you for that! My husband and I came here after coming across it on the Resy app. We had Resy credit to use on our Amex card and decided to try this place out given it was a bit late at night and this place was 15min away from us. The restaurant is inside a hotel and was very clean and established. We were seated and received the menus. The menu isn't extensive but still had a fair amount of dishes to choose from. All the dishes were also decently priced as well. We went with the tri tip appetizer, burrata salad, gate burger, and steak frites. All were AMAZING! Made reservations after not having been here since they opened. Not sure we will be back. Sorely disappointed in our Father's Day brunch. French toast "with fresh fruit" literally had one strawberry and was served with a very thin, pretty tasteless "syrup". Two of our party had eggs Benedict; all four eggs were overdone. Two in our party had French dips and the au jus was reported to be very salty. I would never write a poor review if one of these things was true; but five of the seven meals ordered? Oh and a 21% "large party" tax, that I don't recall seeing anywhere at booking or on the menu? If the quality of the food was enough to demand such a tax, I'd be okay with it. The burger was cooked to perfection. The cheese was oozing off the sides, red ripe tomatoes and red onion to top it off. This was delicious! The fries had a little rosemary and also perfect. Sadly I didn't get a photo before. The waitress was exceptional, she was cheerful, kind, bright, and a real gem. All the staff here are awesome with great people skills. CALLING ALL AVOCADO ON TOAST lovers out there! I'm an older, hard working dad trying to eat a little lighter and healthier in the mornings. Menu boasted a lot of what sounded like a nice mix of standards and some finer options. Though, the food overall was mid at best. Burger wasn't very good, but the tomato soup was good. The tri-tip bites are not little chunks of tri-tip, as we assumed they would be, but were more like a meat bruschetta. Beer selection didn't have a single solitary non-hazy West Coast IPA. Plenty of crappy domestic options! Actually, the Fieldwork N/A IPA on the menu is fantastic, but I would have liked alcohol in my beer. Overpriced, but the local community doesn't seem to mind. Service was slow and inattentive from what I believe was our main server, but all the "helpers" made sure we kept our waters filled and table cleared of dirty dishes. We used to love coming here. We recently moved down the highway and came almost every Tuesday for bingo. It was our family time with good food, drinks, and some fun. We even brought friends with and did birthday parties here. Until recently we enjoyed it. Management hired a new head chef and everything went down hill. The menu no longer has food that a vast majority of people came for. They changed it to a high end 5 star type of food where there is more garnish than taste. A lot of restaurants change the menu 1 item or 2 items at a time but not an entire overhaul to a totally different style and class of menu. We asked if there were any items available from the old menu which some restaurants also can still make even if not displayed on the menu. We were rudely answered no while shaking her head with an attitude. Then asked us if we were expecting a burger, which we said something like that. She then barked back the menu is what it is and then proceeded to ask us if we wanted to leave. Well after that kinda of response we were glad to leave. As the server walked away she said very loud, almost yelling that we were leaving because we didn't want anything on the new menu. I have a feeling even the wait staff are not happy with these changes and it appears they get asked so much about it and used to people walking out that this must be starting to take its toll on staff. We won't be coming back at least as long as the head chef continues with this menu. This menu isn't what built this establishment and it is driving people away. We definitely don't have an interest to come for bingo nights anymore and our other friends that used to eat here 2-3 times a week have also stopped going. It's sad to see what a new head chef can ruin in such a short amount of time. I will update my review if and when they get rid of this chef and bring back all the previous staples that drew the crowds and until then I hope you don't lose all your staff and business of a bad management call. read more

I have been here a few times with my mom over the past year, and was waiting to write a review to see if my thoughts changed. The food here is outstanding , every time we have come for breakfast, it is always delicious. What always deters me from returning is the service. Just to get our order taken each time will take at least 15 minutes. Our server never returns to fill up our waters nor coffees unless we flag them down at the bar multiple times. Food takes a long time to come out of the kitchen (we went in December and the restaurant only had a few tables booked, but the food took over 30 minutes to come). It just seems like the staff overall ignore their customers, even though there are plenty of staff working in the restaurant. read more

Ambiance is pretty typical of a hotel with a long bar with high tops opposite banquette seating. The service can be hit or miss depending on staffing levels but on our most recent visit yesterday they were well staffed and friendly. The food is pretty good. Poke nachos: 5/5. We've had this several times and the tuna is good quality and well seasoned. And the drinks are good too. If you are in the area or driving through on Jackson highway give them a try. They also have a large patio and provide music regularly during the summer. read more

I have come here a significant amount of times for horse showing. Lately it's gone down hill. Horse shows are weird timing to eat etc, and it's always been good over the years and always busy with awesome service. We came around 4:15 after showing wanting food and no one came to seat us for like 15 min we stood there. When we sat they have this new happy hour menu which would be awesome if it was WITH their menu but it isn't. We were so disappointed but starving so we all shared appetizers. The food was good. Went to the restaurant while staying at the hotel- we were turned away at 6 pm even though there were many open tables . We were told they were for reservations - I asked to make a reservation and was told I could come back at 630. When I returned the same tables were still empty ? By the time we left about 730-745 the tables were still empty only one other person had come In with a reservation and the hostess had turned another person away ! Not sure what the reason for that was ? The staff wasn't very friendly either. The food was good other than our12$ salad being so small - it led you to believe it was going to be a meal salad (said you could add protein) but it was so small - but good ! A disappointing Mother's Day. We came here last year and a fantastic time, wonderful food and great service. This year was a pre-set menu rather than a buffet, which was fine. The choices were limited but there was a good mix of both breakfast and lunch items. The place was not crowded, about 2/3 of the tables seemed occupied. We were seated at an indoor table (never asked if we wanted a seat on the beautiful patio) and then forgotten for over 20 minutes until I finally went and talked to the Hostess. Then a waitress shows up empty-handed and asks if we need anything. I explained we were ready to order and she said she was just pulled in from outside and had to go get her order book. Our food arrived before long, looking very good. However the pancakes and French toast dishes were both very over-cooked and the omelet dishes were mostly just egg-very little cheese and other ingredients. We ignored this and enjoyed our meals and conversation. But then like and behold, we had to go track someone down again to ask for water and coffee refills. The same waitress shows up after a bit with water and only enough coffee to top off one and a half cups. We stayed a little longer then made our way out. I then noticed several of the wait staff grouped up and just seemed to be chatting amongst themselves. I'm not trying to sound like a complainer, and I NEVER write reviews, it's just that we walked away feeling very disappointed when it had the opportunity to be so much more. My wife said she "felt like they didn't really want anyone to show up" for what could have been an amazing experience to share with our mothers. The restaurant has done something smart instead of having a giant menu they have a limited menu but they do those items well. Recently they have added buzzers to every table as if the manager doesn't think his staff can do their jobs. Having eaten here for the last few years I can tell you the service is very good and it is a demeaning thing to have these devices because they buzz everyone not just your server. I say we strap one to the new managers arm and buzz his ass every time. I have a message for this manager it's called managing get out here on the floor watch your employees if you're not happy The three stars is for the manager the staff is 4 1/2 stars and the food is four stars but this manager deserve three stars read more

Monday, 12:30 PM......Horrible service. We had to wait for some time for someone in the restaurant to notice we were standing and waiting at the entrance to be seated in the empty restaurant. Once our party of 4 was seated for lunch, we were given menus. After waiting a while for the server to come and get us water and coffee we informed her we had dinner menus. The dinner menus were collected and eventually we received lunch menus. While receiving our lunch menus we were informed of the items not available. One of the items not available was the Fish and Chips, which 2 people in our party were prepared to order. We were told they did not have this item because "There was a wedding over the weekend." Poor excuse for not being prepared for business. The coffee I ordered was medium warm from a thermos type container. I tolerated that and later on asked for a refill thinking it may be a fresh pot that is hot. The second cup of coffee was almost cold. The hotel and spa are great! The restaurant is NOT. Started off our visit with a happy hour Paloma. The blanco tequila they used made the cocktail taste like dirty dish water. Thankfully, the bartender observed I didn't care for my drink and offered me something else. She said the tequila is "smoky" and reminds people of cigarettes. She said a lot of people don't care for it. If you get that much poor feedback on the drink, then why is it on the menu? Had dinner there later that evening. It wasn't much better than a diner. Definitely not fine dining. We ordered spare ribs with pineapple slaw. Not a piece of pineapple in sight. The slaw was pre shredded bagged cold slaw mix and they added pineapple juice to the dressing. The Caesar we ordered had good dressing but the lettuce was pale and croutons were bland. Not a hint of golden from roasting them, no herbs. I'm guessing those came from a box or someone just cut up toasted bread. I ordered bucatini Cajun shrimp pasta with andouille. It was more like a Cajun bouillabaisse. My pasta was swimming in the tomato broth then smothered in green onions. I would say a 1/4 cup worth of green onions. The steak and frites was not much better. Fries were frozen. Steak was cooked okay but portion was small and the salad it came with was barely dressed. This restaurant should reflect the hotel and it does not. Or make it clear it's a casual dining experience and not try and be something it's not. And can someone please explain marking to the servers? Rib bones shouldn't be left on the table with used silverware for the whole meal. We will definitely be back to the hotel and spa but will be going somewhere else for dinner. read more

Had written a few reviews, but my wife made me take them down lol. I obviously don't listen well, beings that I'm about to attempt another review/critique. I will do my best to stay "within" the guidelines. I promise :) 1. Patronized this restaurant a couple of different occassions. 1st time was a mess, botched order. Got served rotten OJ to my 3 year old son, when brought to their attention, they were oblivious and completely failed to acknowledge- an apology? Totally not in the cards. 2. Second vsist was even worse, we will leave it at that, you know so I will stay within the guidelines lol. The hotel they are a part of is fantastic, the staff on that side seems to know what they are doing. However, for the staff that is part of the restaurant..pretty pretty terrible. Words of advice: - Treat everyone that comes into your establishment without prejudice. People are people, it's 2023 inclusion is a good thing. And also, money is green that's a fantastic color! -Hire awesome friendly front of the house staff - good customer service will go a long way! I promise you that! -Your bar staff should really rotate their inventory. Shelf life is key! I get it, when you are slow there is a temptation to be lazy, don't. Hoepfully one day they'll figure it out! Until then, we will stay away. I unfortunately have had 3 poor experiences at this beautiful restaurant. Lovely hotel, food has been delicious. However, I have always left somehow feeling like I'm the problem. it's so convenient to show your horse then have a lovely restaurant to eat at afterward. But it never has worked out for me. This spring, I sat down with 2 other ladies, we ordered, and then waited 45 minutes for our food. I mentioned to our server that it seemed to be taking a while. A couple had sat down next to us, ordered, ate, and already left before we were served. I mentioned this to our sever. She was defensive and said they had a large party they were serving. I understand, but I wondered why we weren't handed off to another server. Then last week I ordered room service, went down, and placed an order with two other girls. Gave my phone number, and the hostess said she would text me when ready. I went down about 50 minutes later. Hostess could not find orders, I pointed out the brown bags and asked if that was our food? They had misplaced my order, I ended up with someone else's food, and my roommate ended up with mine about 1.5 Hrs later. They did comp my dinner My last experience was during happy hr. 8 people total, with 3 kids. We were served drinks, and after a bit of time, we headed off to find a server. We alerted them we were ready to order. Only 2 other patrons were in the restaurant. Food came out quickly. At the end of the meal, we went to pay and told parties of 6 they do not split the bill, and there was gratuity added. I assumed the tip part with a group. But the not splitting the bill should have been brought up. We clearly were separate family's/parties. We will be back in the fall. Hopefully, I will have a better experience. The servers seem very defensive and really quick to blame others. I would think a quick smile and no problem would go a long way in a tip based industry. read more

This is a great place to go have good food if you're in the Sacramento metro area. The decor and ambiance of this place is pretty good and I'd love to explore the rest of the resort here! I came here for brunch with my mum for her birthday. The food was good and service was amazing. Staff were very attentive and made sure our meal was satisfactory. The food was delicious and was prepared quite fast! I had pork belly breakfast while other two plates were egg breakfast plate. The prices are very reasonable and the space is beautiful. Parking is plentiful and right off the highway! They even offer electric car charging for guest! I'd definitely go again and recommend for all to go if you're in the area! read more

The hotel and restaurant is decently new to the area and as a resident of the area I haven't tried the restaurant until recently. I am super super happy with the restaurant, the service, and the food. The look of the restaurant has a relaxing feel to it. The hostesses, bartenders, waiters, and waitresses have always been so friendly and great to get along with. My boyfriend and I have become regulars and have gotten to know some of them! The espresso martinis are delicious, I always will suggest the shrimp cocktail but the charcuterie board is a great appetizer to share with others. So far dinner wise I have really enjoyed the prime rib! I never have room for dessert but the one time I did was cheesecake and was absolutely delicious! read more

I ordered room service and the chicken was inedible. I let them know it was dry and and I could not even chew it let alone swallow it, I literally spit it out. Dawn the manager offered to remake or give me 1/2 off my inedible $32 meal. So $16 for broccolini and potato. Ummmm not really wanting it remade since I was so rudely questioned about why I didn't like it... horrible customer service. 4.5 stars overall. Lovely hotel w/outdoor seating by the pool. it can get a bit hot out there but it does have fans under the overhang. our lunch was delicious. Most items are harvested locally. And they have a 5 acre farm they grow all their veggies in!! Yum. So, needless to say, everything was so fresh. This isn't your typical "hotel" food. They have a "real" chef that offers beautifully thought out cuisine for any and all tastes. If you are a foodie, you will love this place. 5 stars for food. You lost half a star for lack of beer selection and the flies. Need to add more powerful fans and or look into table top fans/deterrents on Amazon I've seen other restaurants offer. After lunch enjoy a round of corn hole under strings of lights. Such a cute touch. You could also enjoy a game of jumbo Jenga under the gazebo with your family along with a drink to cool down. Family & dog friendly. They have 2 electric car charging stations too! Not super chargers but in the few hours we spent there, I had plenty of juice to go on with our day. Definitely will be back!
