    Spaghetti Pomodoro

We really enjoyed this restaurant, and everything tasted very homemade. The ambiance also felt homey. The food tasted very fresh, especially the Tomato Caprese Salad. There was plenty of fresh bread, and the portions were generous. Our server was helpful, and the staff always kept our water glasses full. We will definitely be back and make sure to leave room for dessert next time!

This was a great experience every server and chef was soo friendly. There were 6 of us for dinner and every dish was very well executed with a delicious outcome!! The historical building and cozy interior was a plus. Loved the Mary's chicken plate

Came in tonight around 5:20pm to finally try out this restaurant. The interior is rustic and calm, jazzy vibes. I did notice in the bar area where I sat at a table in the corner, that the large table across from me near the wall did have many cobwebs from the chairs to wall. The staff was so sweet and attentive. I started with water and a Coke Zero (6$ plastic bottle no refills) which came with a glass of ice. I ordered the bruschetta al pomodoro ($18) to start. Absolutely delicious, the portion was small and only came with two pieces of bread. I wish it had a bit more balsamic and Parmesan, and it came with more of their homemade bread toasted. I then ordered the spaghetti pomodoro ($25) Beautiful presentation, large portions and the flavors were amazing. Overall would I return? Yes absolutely. I intentionally came on a quiet night to experience things when they are not slammed. I look forward to returning.

Don't come here if you're in a rush, there's beautiful patio seating and amazing scenery. They don't rush service. Indoor seating has dim lighting and also beautiful. The food is always good- when no one complains in a group that means the chefs are doing everything right. The grounds are beautiful--the family owning was open to allowing us to use grass and surrounding area for pictures--(check in with them beforehand if you want to do the same). They offer cake service for charge.

Food was delicious and super rich- had the stroganoff. Someone told me the portions were small but there was no way I was finishing it all after I had the minestrone soup. ((Which was also amazing)) Ambience was adorable. Our waitress didn't do a whole lot of talking ((not that I want a bunch of talking)) but even when she did talk it seemed like it was very quiet & one word answers. It took a while to get the food after ordering. Overall food was good & would go back!

I took my dear friend for brunch for her 81st birthday. This was our first visit. The hostess and servers were amazing. Very attentive, but not bothersome. The food was delicious. My friend had the spinach frittata and I had the eggs Benedict. The patio setting was beautiful and we stayed well after our meal enjoying ourselves. We definitely will return.

Dined at the Slough House Kitchen for a nice Friday date night. We arrived and were happily greeted outside by the Slough House Kitchen dog. Once inside we were greated and sat a table for two in the main area. We looked for the menu for a bit, and while doing so my girlfriend sampled the wines to pair with her dinner. Once we were ready we ordered the following: Wine: Pinot Grigio, Maggio Appetizer: Beef Tataki Main Courses: Tagliatelle alla Salsicia NY Sirloin Dessert: Coffee Crème Bûrlée All of the food was amazing, and I was pleasantly surprised about the Coffee Crème Bûrlée. I love a good Crème Bûrlée, and a coffee flavor was a new spin for me, and it was really enjoyable. Overall: Nice dinning experience with good good and nice staff.

Yes - they do. It's excellent!

I would say not for kids.. no kids menu and everything (butter, mayo, etc) made from scratch. European entrees with great wine and craft beers, no cheeseburgers and French fries.

No, I have never been here before and was so surprised that it was even here. It's definitely tucked away in the back corner near some residential area, but the outdoor seating area was phenomenally adorable. Think string lights, cozy chairs, homey ambience. I wish we had sat outside, but we were worried about being cold so we had made a reservation for inside. Our service and server were good and fine. They were very helpful and friendly and gave us some suggestions on what to eat. Unfortunately, I didn't find the food to be that great. I think maybe because I've been living in the Bay Area for a while before coming here, I just felt like the food was okay. It was absolutely a step up from like a chain in Italian restaurant and more than like a simple mom and pop shop, but I just wasn't really loud. I found the flavors of the food to be OK, but I've had better for the same price that being said, is it good? Yes. Is it better than Paesanos? Yes. With that context, we don't take Italian food lightly. That's exactly why Ippolito's Trattoria stands out. Nick, the owner, is there seven days a week. Whether he's running the kitchen like a true master or walking the dining room checking in with guests, his presence is constant. His wife is often by his side, and together they've built something that feels less like a restaurant and more like a family. The staff reflects that--welcoming, attentive, and genuinely warm. Now, the food. The chicken parmigiana is massive--easily two meals--and executed perfectly. The chicken is tender, well-seasoned, and balanced. We usually start with calamari or a shared salad, both consistently excellent. I'm especially particular about carbonara, and this is the only place in Sacramento that truly gets it right. No shortcuts. No cream. No smoked bacon. They respect the tradition--using proper ingredients like guanciale or pancetta and incorporating the egg the way it's meant to be. It's easily the best carbonara I've had in years. The arancini are another highlight. If you've ever made them at home, you know the effort involved--this is the real deal. Crispy outside, rich and flavorful inside, and absolutely authentic. The bread is baked fresh daily by Nick, and it shows. The pasta is artisan-quality, also made fresh, and sourced from a trusted local partner. Every detail reflects care and intention. Dessert is not an afterthought here. The tiramisu--made in-house--is flawless. And the cannoli? Outstanding. The shells have the perfect crunch, and the fillings are rich without being overpowering. Even the pizzelle cookies are done right. It's no surprise they've earned recognition, including: Best Italian Restaurant in Sacramento Best Restaurant Overall in Sacramento Beyond the food, Nick is active in the community and gives back, which only adds to the experience. We've enjoyed this place so much that we've chosen them to cater my 60th birthday for 20 very discerning Italian family members--many of whom we've already brought here, all with the same glowing reactions. If there's any criticism to address, it's usually from people saying the food isn't salty or herb-heavy enough. That misses the point. This is balanced, authentic cooking--where ingredients shine without being masked. I've been to Papa Gianni's in Cameron Park dozens of times over the years, and it's a great spot. But when it comes to the Sacramento region, Ippolito's Trattoria is my go-to, without question.

Palermo doesn't look like much from the outside, but you can feel the love that went into this place on the inside. From being greeted by the Sicilian owner at the front to the super friendly servers and other staff, you just feel so welcome from the start. There is a full cocktail menu and full service bar to star things off, and a few house specials. I got the West Coast Colada, which is a very pineapple-forward, simple rum cocktail without the coconut side of the class drink. It was lovely, if not a little on the weak side alcohol wise. Every dish we ordered was fantastic (shout out to the minestrone soup), but the star of the show was the lasagna. I was wondering why the lasagna was a $45 dish until i saw it delivered to nearby tables and my mouth dropped. This single slice of lasagna could feed 4 people (or more) and consists of a couple DOZEN layers of noodles. It was the best, and biggest lasagnas I've ever had, and I'm still eating it 4 days later! The desserts were also absolutely delicious, with a very creamy take on tiramisu, and a very well-named "temptation" chocolate cake. The cherry on top of dessert was when the owner came and chatted with us about the origins of the lasagna and the restaurant. Just a lovely Italian man with a passion for food that somehow landed him in Elk Grove of all places! We will absolutely be returning. Our server, Beto, was exceptional. Friendly, genuine, attentive, personable, and welcoming, he made the entire experience enjoyable from start to finish. As parents of young children, we especially appreciated how quickly everything came out without sacrificing quality. The food was outstanding. I ordered the Laconda salad with salmon (on the side), which was incredibly fresh, vibrant, and perfectly balanced. The special house made gnocchi with various cheeses was fresh and delightful. We also enjoyed a cheese pizza and the spaghetti and meatballs, both of which were delicious and expertly prepared. Every dish tasted authentic, fresh, thoughtful, and full of flavor.
