If you like a good bbq this is the place. They serve real fresh food. Great salads. Happy friendly service. Wings are some of the best ever. I am a cronies wing lover. Their Super Bowl bbq special was $59 and made five of us quite happy. Pulled pork, brisket and beef ribs and the tasty beans they serve. Best ever waffle fries. We also pick up. read more

We've driven by this place for years. Today we actually decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. It's a roadside place and if you blink as you speed into Mill City, you'll miss it. But definitely stop in! You order at the counter first thing. This saves the awkward wait at the end of your meal for the check. You bus your own table, so that frees up the staff for personal delivery of your food. And the food? Hubby ordered the jalapeño burger and tots. It was perfect. A little overdone, but when a burger is cooked on a flat iron that's ok. The tots were a little overdone but how do you mess up a tot? Yum! I had the avo burger and fries. The fries are double cooked and crispy. The burger was served with thousand Island and pepper jack cheese. I was so full after eating but it was impossible not to eat it all. And I have to tell you ....having pepsi at a food place with burgers and fries like these was such a fantastic change. The vibe is rustic, and the service was super efficient and fast. Like I mentioned earlier, the personal delivery of my meal was a great touch. TIP: exit the restaurant in the back, take a right out of the lot and drive through the town. It will make it easier to cross the traffic if you're heading west. Don't forget to use the median! Like I said. You've driven by this place a million times. Walt from Walt's Adventures finishing my tour of Oregon at the roadside restaurant, The Get-A-Way. This eatery has indoor dining only but can do take out service. Approach the counter and grab a menu for this establishment's gold seal is customer service. Their main menu is not seen but is available on the counter. One menu that is visible is their shake menu. Pleasure your tastebuds and order a shake. Their shakes are the real deal for they are delicious and thick. OMG! I'm going to echo what others are saying - and add in that I'm a little bit of a food snob (meaning I like fresh veggies - not garbage like pre-cut lettuce and canned /frozen foods). I can't promise it'll be there on your visit, as it was a daily special, but they had PRIME RIB dinner (or an option for a prime rib French dip sandwich) complete with fresh creamed horse radish and au jus for dipping! Garlic mashed potatoes. Fresh chopped salad. We were so surprised and delighted that such a small town and unassuming building could produce such a gut-busting and happy-making dinner! Every time a excellent experience. I live in town so this is not just a 1 time visit. Breakfast lunch or dinner, the place is consistent with fresh food, fast and friendly service. The burger and bbq is out of this world. If you are a local you know the good food, if you are headed over the mountain pass or just getting to this side of the pass. My son and I happened upon this spot for breakfast on our way from Silver Falls State Park to Bend and while it is pretty basic by appearances inside and out, the food and service were great surprises. Solid food and nice folks! My brother and I stopped here on our way to hike out in Willamette Nat'l. They were still serving breakfast but we wanted an early lunch. The man at the counter offered to make us something from the lunch menu. We both got patty melts with waffle fries. Food was piping hot when it came out and was one of the top 3 patty melts I've ever had. Fries were nice and crispy also. Wish we had more places like this here in NC. Support this local restaurant! So glad we stopped here! Very cute inside and very clean. Come hungry cause the portions are big! The burgers seemed hand formed and were delicious - right down to the perfectly grilled bun. I got the mushroom burger and it was loaded with fresh sautéed mushrooms. We also got the waffle fries with it. They were very yummy and they come with their own homemade sauce or there were several other choices. Family run - very welcoming and friendly service. We stopped for our first visit on the way home from camping. The restaurant is spacious, and the AC is nice and cool after loading up gear. We ordered milkshakes, Canyon burgers, and the bruschetta burger. The presentation, quality, and taste were phenomenal. The waffle fries will be something I dream about until our next visit. In a world full of pulled pork, this pork had crispy crusty bits along with moist and flavorful goodness. Taters were irresistible! Yum. There was at least 20 people there when we left. Service by Taryn was outstanding. She was friendly and attentive to us and all patrons. I'm not sure why there would be only one employee on the weekends in the summer months, as it would have been more ideal for her to have help... I also would have liked the option to leave a tip on my card, but thankfully we had a little bit of cash to put in the tip jar. She held her own. Smiling working fast and friendly. It took a while but we got our ice cream. Good for her hard work,determination and persistence. I hope her company knows how hard that shift was. And the ice cream was great. When I'm back in town, I will go again!
