Happy hour review. The whole bar is advertised as half off during happy hour. Ordered a couple beers (don't recall which one as we hit many bars at this point) and mozzarella sticks. Mozzarella sticks were good so no real complaints. I think all beers are served in pint glasses. read more

we come here after every softball game because it's a quick walk from central park. The best part about the bar is t hat they have beer pong tables in the back, but there's really no sign up sheet. It's also a small place with a decent amount of seating so there's not much space to move around. The music is usally pretty good. i've treid they're chicken fingers and they're amazing. read more

Private party in the speak easy room. Happy for the private bathroom. Food was so-so. Great staff, great private space, unfortunately they only had barstools not so comfortable short people. We were given folding chairs. Good in technology, flat screens and awesome sound system. The upper bar area was not my scene, tioooo young, toooooo drunk, toooooo loud and crazy. I hosted a huge party (200+) in the Speakeasy Room and I could not have had a better experience. The bar was incredibly accommodating for the needs of my party and all of my guests had a fabulous time. I will use them again next time I host. Great specials, the barstaff on Weeknights are really friendly since they have less people on hand and can hang around and chat. Thursday is College Night which can always get a bit rowdy but its nice to be able to get pitcher after pitcher and have a 12 buck tab when all is said and done. It's a great place to come during the week whether it be with a few coworkers or even a large group of friends. This establishment offers a lot of seating, even a few outdoor by the entrance. It also offers a private party room called The Speakeasy. This is great for special occasions such as birthdays or office parties. The bar has college nights on Thursdays and offers great specials during the weekend for football games. this is your standard cheap college geared bar. see reviews for stumble inn, off the wagon, etc. they are all related. good spot to get your drink on for cheap, to get huge portions of tasty but bad for you bar food (buffalo chicken nachos are the way to go in my book), and to play a little beer pong if you are so inclined and willing to negotiate your way on to a table if you show up anytime after mid afternoon. every bar fills a niche! read more

This is your typical sports bar. I've been here a couple of times before just because it's a convenient bar in the area. No cover of course and cheapish drinks, though if you get a mixed drink, there's barely any alcohol in it. Service sucks but no more than what you would expect. When it's nice outside, you can sit outside on picnic tables which is nice. This place is also always a little bit crowded but not too crowded so it's a good back up if you can't get in to other places. read more

I was away from the Upper West Side for 5 years, ouch. Boy, did I miss The Gin Mill. I was there yesterday and it was like seeing an old friend again. Still the best bargain around. Great food specials that are consistenly delicious- cheese quesadilla and chicken tenders are especially great. Most importantly, the beer is ALWAYS COLD !! Great place for drinks after work, but gets a little loud at night. They have a great happy hour deal. Went there once on a Saturday night to watch a college football game with a buddy but the music was way too loud - couldn't even have a conversation. Great happy hour....it's from 11am to 8pm ( I think)...pretty much most liquors are 1/2 price. My friend had 2 fireball shots for $6.00. Yes, that's correct. It was $3.00 a shot. We also had the deep dish pizza and it was yum. Good place for a crowd of people but it can get packed quickly. Small outside area to hold about 16 people. Go when you're looking to have cheap but quality drinks. Maybe something with your coworkers or friends? Definitely not a date night spot. read more
