I ordered Turkey burger and flatbread last week. The food was tasteless and the Turkey burger was dry. Very Disappointed.

I love all the nooks and crannies of this place. So many rooms. Upstairs is far more elegant in my opinion, but not open all of the time. The downstairs back room with fireplace is so cozy; perfect for Fall & Winter. Especially cute for the holidays. Great brunch menu & awesome Bloody Mary's! Great apps, sandwiches, burgers & salads. Greenwich the Grouch Greenwich, CT is like Martha Stewart. On the surface it's posh and proper yet scheming and scowling underneath. The castle style mansions spread throughout this forest wonderland are as common as the polo jockey logo around this neck of the woods. Greenwich is the most prestigious suburb outside New York City so it's only common to expect to feel like a peeping pauper when you dine there and mix within their stately yet overwhelmingly drab presence. Going to a bar for lunch in the heart of the Hedge Fund Beast that chews up millionaire investors like power bars for breakfast made me feel like I was lapped in the money earning game by a landslide. Nonetheless, I was still able to enjoy my Maine plucked Crab Cake that was a moist, plump, scrumptious treat like a casting couch session with Delta Burke for Designing Woman. And the beer selection is impressive for any bar especially for Greenwich, which is more of an upscale; I dump on Westchester, Mad Men, after work crowd. But what really left me feeling enraged was the muted grumbling undercurrent that roared beneath the surface of the candle lit decorated, quaint fireplace. Everyone there was closed off, dour and wrapped up into keeping it real by hanging out in a bar on Greenwich during the afternoon of Super Bowl Sunday which seemed ludicrous and beyond forced like Adrian Brody acting as a crooner spokesperson for Stella Beer. On top of that, all of the young, uppity blond girls at the bar gave my pregnant wife nasty stares at the bar and whispered trashy putdowns into each other's ears like they've never seen a pregnant woman sip a lemon water at a bar in Greenwich before with such non showy ease. In the end, just when we were ready to break free, we had to find the bathroom, which was placed behind the cash register without a bathroom sign on it, which is a pathetic, annoying attempt to make this bar seem more inclusive and speak easy than it deserves to be seen as. But if your going to pick up your baby crib at Giggles like we did that day and need a beer to relax your nerves after getting attitude from a chesty sales lady that makes you feel as welcome as financial regulation laws pushing for hedge fund reform in Greenwich, than the Ginger Man is for you. read more

Came here for a group lunch and it was pretty darn good. I ordered the bbq pulled pork sandwich and the meat was really moist and tender. Came on a lovely brioche bun with a side of sweet potato fries. I'd recommend this to anyone. read more

What a disappointment. Went there around 8pm on a Wednesday night to grab drinks with few friends. I understand it's a gastro/sports type bar, but it was so dark in there when we walked in. We were seated right away to a table in the back near the windows. We were waiting for another friend, so we told the waiter we will hold off on ordering till then but asked for water with lemon. Just the water took more than it needed - especially since no one was really at the bar. When our friend got there, we had to get our waiter's attention to order 3 glasses of wine. Since we only ordered drinks, I can't really rate what food quality but I can say the service was TERRIBLE. The waiter NEVER came back to us once our first drinks were delivered until toward the end. We were finished with our drinks, waiting for our check which took good 15 minutes to get. There was NO ONE in there expect few other people so not sure what the hold up was. Our friend went and physically delivered the bill to our waiter because we didn't want to wait another 20 minutes. I will go back for either lunch/dinner and re-rate depending on how that goes but it wasn't the first experience I was expecting. read more

Fantastic beer selection and very knowledgeable bartenders have opened my eyes to new beers I never knew existed. Always packed for the after-work crowd but the table seating is a nice alternative to hanging out at the bar. Food is exactly what you would expect for a pub-style restaurant. I would have given this place a zero if I was allowed. Wow just came in here with a bunch of friends and having tons of food and drinks and the manager just came up to us and told us we have to leave because he has a reservation for a party at 7:30. We got here at 5:00. Expected to have a great evening with friends we have not seen in years and then to to be told an hour n a half later that we need to go because of prior reservations. Visited for an early dinner (5 pm) on Sunday -- moderately crowded but they accommodated our party of seven without a problem. Prices a little on the high side, a reflection of high rents on Greenwich Avenue. Service was friendly, accommodating and prompt. I enjoyed chopped kale salad with grilled chicken; others in our group enjoyed burgers with sweet potato fries and ribs. Only disappointment was the fish tacos -- very small portion. Casual bar with nice food, good service and old world bar environment. I had lettuce wraps - very simple... Not nearly as nice as Cheese Cake factory. The chicken quesedia was ok, not served with extra salsa, sour cream or guacamole. My wife enjoyed her poached pear salad. read more

Very disappointing. We used to love coming here for the steak, and enjoyed the pub atmosphere. Tonight we had seafood specials, blackened grouper with lemon caper sauce for my date and scallops for me. The dishes were terrible. The grouper was dry, and the lemon caper sauce had so many capers that it was as if someone had literally dumped a jar of capers into the dish. The scallops were salty, and drowning in an oyster mushroom / tomato pepper cream sauce that was just awful. And to top it all off, literally every table was filled with children who were screaming and running all around. If it wanted to go to McDonalds I would go there. Went to the Ginger Man in Greenwich over the weekend. The inside is nice, dark lighting, booths, long bar. Good choices on the menu. I got the flatbread as an appetizer and it was great. My friends got the oysters and they were really good too. I ordered a Texas Tea to drink which was straight up vodka. I had to let it melt in order to drink it. The steaks came - my medium steak was very well done and the rare steak was medium. There was also so much pepper on the steak that we had to scrape them off in order to eat them. The filet was much better and my one friend enjoyed her burger and fries. For dessert, we had the brownie sundae - average, and the cookie in a pan - good. Our service was subpar. After we received our appetiters, it took awhile to get our main courses. We had to chase our waiter down to get drinks and a dessert menu. I never did receive my coffee that I ordered with dessert. I had been here before a couple of years ago with better results. I probably will go again to give it another try. I'm hoping the poor service was just our waiter. read more

Great beers on tap. Could be a little colder. Had the hamburger with fries. Who you tryin to impress by putting a hamburger on an English muffin....... Burger meat was good ,tomato was not great, leaf lettuce does not belong on burger. Those of us who have eaten this type of burger wonder what was the chef thinking. For those who have not, try eating a burger placed on an English muffin!!! Overall three stars. read more

I'd give the Ginger Man 3.5* if I could. I'm not usually in Greenwich, so maybe this is better than the usual Greenwich fare? Worse? No idea. But they've got an impressive beer list (and the beer prices are fine). And they've got some decent wines, too, for a reasonable amount. The Gruener Veitliner was nicely tart. Food's fine in a middle of the road, New American chain restaurant kind of way. At any rate, you likely won't go hungry given the portion sizes. It seems to be a popular place for birthdays, seeing as how a chorus of Happy Birthday broke out three times during my visit. I did realize that I was in CT when I went to the ladies' room. It's very large. Private. Calm. Not a tiny hole tucked underneath a staircase. I guess I spend too much time at dive bars if the Ginger Man's ladies' room is enough to impress me. read more

Very uncomfortable situation. Reported that dish was not spicy at all, put in wrong order and took back even though we wanted to keep it, brought out very spicy dish and manager got angry when I said it was extremely spicy and said I was wrong... after an hour being there had not eaten ... person working did not know dishes and put orders in incorrectly. read more

Nice place, food is good. Two members of our party enjoyed the beet salad with chicken and my son liked his grilled cheese. Good size portions. The Reuben with lamb sounded like a good idea but was a strange addition to the sandwich that probably wasn't necessary (why mess with a good thing?). Not sure why so many "poor" reviews, I'm from NJ and I was visiting this charming area and was reluctant to try this place because of some reviews. I'm glad my party of 3 decided to try it out anyway, we had a lovely dining experience. Everything from the food to the coffee was absolutely delicious! Beautiful place, we sat in a real pretty dark wood room, an if my memory serves me, there was a nice fireplace. I had a chocolate raspberry beer that I loved! My husband had the muscles and loved it! I had a salad, everything was very good and the service was nice. We came early like at 12:00 on a weekday, within an hour the place was jamming, very busy. Glad we stopped here. read more

Excellent selection of beers, and the food is very good, although a little expensive...but that's Greenwich for ya. If you're going for a night out, the crowd can really change depending on the season. It's a lot less crowded in the summer. This is an amazing place to grab a great, draft, Hefeweizen. This is my go to place for a nice, relaxing, and child friendly environment. I have gone for afterwork drinks, as well as with friends visiting from NYC. Recommend though that if you are a larger party (4 or more) that you do make reservations. read more

Horrible experience here tonight. Has been much, much better before. They were out of our first three choices and didn't have any cider which was the first drink on the menu. No baby bsck ribs and the waiter had to come back and tell us that after we had ordered them. Waiter did bring a sample of the extremely sweet (brown sugar added) butternut squash soup so that wasn't ordered. Only one flavor of sorbet was available although three flavors were on the menu. Gorgeous ambience. Solid selection of beer and wine. I had a truly stellar dish, the confit duck salad with roasted green apple and Maytag blue cheese over arugula with a delicious maple-y dressing. It was actually satisfying even though it wasn't listed as an entree salad. My husband liked his burger and I couldn't help but steal some of his thick-cut fries. My only complaint is that the waiter never came out to see if we needed anything or ask us how the dishes were. But since everything was good, it was only a minor point. Bottom line, this is not Greenwich fine dining or a downscale local pub, but something that occupies the critical space in between. The prices are reasonable for the ambience and quality. Yes, of course it's rife with finance folks. Calibrate your expectations about the menu and clientele and you'll have a lovely time. It would be a shame not to enjoy a reasonably-priced Bordeaux by the fireplace. read more

Went here a couple of times....it's decent...I guess it's as "Irish bar" as you can get in Greenwich...although it i doesn't really give off the casual "pub" or "bar" vibe at all in our opinion where you can really conregate with friends or co-workers..more of a restaurant feel than pub..which is probably why the food was better than what you would get at an irish pub..it guess it more of a restaurant/"gastro pub" hybrid? read more

With this place being steps away from my work, I think the location is great. Not bad atmosphere. Most people bring their own crowd and it is very laid back and only gets load a couple of nights a week. Beware of cougars lurking. The food is better than the appetizers. Never mind the part when the busser dumped ice water down the front of my 4 yr old daughter, this place was a HUGE disappointment. It looks nice and welcoming, but there is no kids menu, everything is expensive and it could not be more underwhelming. I had the lobster salad sandwich. No flavor. And my friends ordered the salmon club. Not even enough under seasoned fish to fill the bun. Waste. read more

Average burger. Rock hard English muffin "bun"! No one came back after a reasonable time to take order. When I flagged busboy, he thought we wanted the check (we hadn't placed any order!) I guess they were distracted by group/party near us? Bearded waiter never even mentioned the specials except to point at the list when I had to ask him. Don't ever sit in the front seats since too much reverb. Formula here should be so simple and successful but execution lack luster. read more

We loved this place! We took our kids here for lunch because my husband HAD to have fish and chips and they were perfect! I had a really refreshing white wine sangria and the lamb burger. Our girls shared the shredded chicken quesadilla and it was a little spicy for them but VERY good. read more
