The comfortable spa table is prepped with a little steamer to get your face ready for treatment. The HydraFacial machine was explained to me. She also stated that if the process felt uncomfortable, I could alert her to adjust the pressure. The procedure helped to clean, exfoliate, and remove impurities from my skin. She then applied a serum of antioxidants, peptides, and hyaluronic acid. The final application was sunscreen. While the untrained eye, probably couldn't SEE a difference after the HydraFacial, I could certainly FEEL the difference. Clean, fresh, and super rejuvenated! As a follow up, I came in for the Scultural Face Lift with Buccal Massage. This included lymphatic drainage (behind your ears) and microcirculation of my shoulders, neck, and jaw area. If you've never had a massage inside your mouth, try it! This helps to relax jaw muscles and many TMJ patients use this. Honey, you are worth it! Whether a special occasion or just because. I drove up to this beautiful house (late and lost, but Rachel was so faithful to give me directions when I called frantic, and she showed grace to my tardiness). Beautiful doesn't quite satisfy the way this place looks, and once I stepped inside. Amazing. The title, Calm Studio Spa fits it well. The exterior and interior embody a very calming atmosphere. The single room studio has a perfectly placed, massage table, a chair for facial treatments, a couch for comfort, and perfectly placed shelves with various beauty products. And the spa part, well this business offers a full variety of massages (to include prenatal!), facial treatments and waxing services. Treatments are by appointments only, and currently Rachel (the masseuse) does evening appointments. She did an amazing job. I had a crazy kink in my neck, and I told her she had quite a challenge ahead of her. She accepted it and smoothed it out with her hybrid of lomi lomi, Swedish and deep tissue massage. This new business is definitely worth checking out, and I'm looking forward to seeing her again soon!

I met Noe almost 10 years ago when she first started her business in the South Bay. I was desperate to find a masseuse as I had an awful, head pounding debilitating migraine that would not go away for days. I found Noe on Yelp and she was able to take me in right away. Noe is a miracle worker, after one hour of massage, the migraine completely went away and I walked out feeling normal again. I have gone to her for a massage ever since then. After a few years, I decided to try her facial too. I would go whenever I can but as soon as when I am able to afford a facial monthly, I made it a monthly routine. I followed her to the many locations she moved to in the past 10 years. There were times I tried other services because they were closer, but always end up regretting it. So I'm going to be loyal client for life! Noe has always been keen on researching and adding services that provide the best results. When she started to provide Qi treatment, I tried it and saw a difference it made on my face. I feel lifted, plumped and hydrated with less fine lines. It also lightened my dark spots! The last thing I have to add is, everything she offers in her shop is carefully curated. I love the Eminence Organics skin care she carries. They use pure, natural ingredients that is potent without chemicals. It absorbs fast and it works. My only regrets is I didn't start using them sooner because they are more costly than the products I have been using in the past. But I really think it's worth it in the long run. One thing that really saved my skin is using the toner and their moisturizer. Their mists (toner) produces such fine spray it makes my skin feel super refreshed and hydrated. My skin literally feels 10 years younger after using their products religiously. I am planning to start using the serums too. Now Noe is my go to person for all my skin care needs. And I'm so stoke that she is finally back in the South Bay!!!

This review is not to complain, simply to express my experience with Mila at the Face Lounge using a Groupon for a microdermabrasion treatment. Setting up the appointment was simple over the phone. When I had to cancel last minute due to work, she was understanding and flexible with rescheduling another appointment. The new location is in a residential area in Kaneohe. It's easy to miss, but gps does a fine job of getting you there. When I first met Mila she was pleasant, but seemed in a rush. Understandable as I was 5 minutes late due to not being able to find the house. I'll admit the setup in the bedroom upstairs was kind of odd...I felt weird being in a person's home. It wasn't very relaxing and the bed faced directly across a bright window that was pretty blinding as it didn't have any shades. I guess I'm just used to getting facial treatments in a spa-like environment. We started the microdermabrasion, it was my first time, she told me it would feel like sandpaper across my skin. I'd say my skin isn't that sensitive, it's more on the normal side - but wow, did it hurt in certain areas like under my eyes and cheeks...it started to burn by the third time she went over my face. Afterwards she began extractions on my face without steaming and opening my pores. That worried me. It also hurt like heck! She made a comment about how I didn't drink enough water thus dehydrating my skin and making it difficult for her because my skin "just wouldn't give". Hmm maybe it's because my pores aren't opened up?? Shame comment #1. Then she noticed bumps on my skin (milia), which I was conscious about to begin with. I have a about 5 little ones on my cheek. She said, "That's really bad, it's because of improper product usage. You're too young to have that you NEED to go to a dermatologist." Shame #2. At this point I just felt real crappy about my skin...about my face in general, which is so opposite from other experiences with previous facials I've gotten. I usually get comments about how good my skin looks! Then she put on a mask, it immediately started burning my whole face!! On fire!! She didn't believe me at first, but I was like, "This doesn't feel right is this supposed to feel like this?!" So with rough force she wiped it off with a wet rag and that HURT so badly. I was cringing with pain trying to keep quiet, not scream, and be polite. She proceeded with 2 more masks that also burned my face. Wow. Then of course ended with a shame #3 comment about how sensitive my skin was. In the end, I was rushed out because another client had arrived and I left feeling bummed out about the state of my skin with no solutions. Btw, the burning and redness on my face lasted for the next two days.

I wasn't asked about how I felt about my last treatment, which I would've appreciated since it was still only my second time and since my previous adjustment was a bit off the mark. I did have to take the initiative to clarify a few things before my treatment but it still felt very rushed and a little cold. On top of that, at the end, the POS asks if you'd like to add a tip, which was a bit of a turn off considering it is a clinic, rather than a hair salon. I was hoping this would be my regular place but I'm not sure how excited I am to return after this most recent visit.
