There was a small crowd gathered around the order windows, and I took that as a good omen. Hank himself greeted me and made me feel like a regular right off the bat! I paid with my debit card, and took notice that when he returned my card to me, he called me "Jen." I liked that. First-name basis on visit number one. After placing my order and paying, Hank handed me a beeper so he could let me know when my food was ready. There was plenty of seating on the deck overlooking the Niagara River. Every view is waterfront and the weather was perfect for a day on the water. Or for a day eating beside the water. Something else I noticed: no dadgum flying rats (seagulls) to beg for food and squawk at you. I'm not sure if Hank had them tied up in a barn somewhere, but I didn't see even one! It didn't take long for my beeper to go off, so I was soon able to stuff my face with a Hungry Hank's hot dog and some large fries I split with a friend. I've been sick for several days and taking meds, so I admit food doesn't taste quite the same to me as usual. But I remarked that my hot dog didn't really have much taste to it, and my friend (who is completely healthy) agreed. This wasn't **bad** food, but it wasn't what my mouth was drooling about before I took my first bite. It was definitely not a Sahlen's or a Zweigle's dog. And the bread was kind of lackluster. [When I was in college, a friend once said something about hot dogs that I've never forgotten: "The bun makes the dog." (Also, "the bun makes the burger.") There's a lot of truth in that. It's why I always prefer Burger King to McDonald's if you twist my arm and make me pick the better of the two cheeseburgers. BK offers the sesame seed bun. (Although, McDonald's will serve it that way too, if you ask.)] I honestly loved Hank and his sweet wife so much, though, that I am willing to go back for another try. And I did like the French fries. They're a nice cut, cooked to perfection, and you can taste the potato. It's also a great serving size! Scenery: A+ Menu: A+ Prices: A Customer Service: A+ Hot Dog: C (Average) So if your only objective is to get a hot dog you're in love with, you may choose something else. But if you are willing to take into account all these other great pieces to this big puzzle, I think you'll find it's worth a stop to see Hank & his food truck. (And really? The burger and chicken and other options may be AWESOME!) Ask him where he hides the seagulls! I'm really curious! I found them last year and was very impressed then. This year has only improved. They are there Thursdays and Saturdays all summer long. Many varied flavors, some with cute names like the "Elvis" etc. Others are chocolate. Strawberry. Etc. These cupcakes are a good size, not too big, not too small, just right. They are generous with frosting, but its not overwhelming. Ive tried many of the regular flavors and many of the gluten free ones. If you pick out a gluten free with some others, they will package it differently if needed, without hesitation at all. Super focused on that. These cupcakes are creative and have fun names. I think they are a little sweet overall, but because they are packaged really well and the proprietors are just fantastic; I look forward to buying from them. They always have a smile and a moment to interact with customers. The cupcakes also store well for a day or two, just remember to take them out of the fridge a hour or so before eating them. Cupcakes are better room temp. 5 stars for the customer focus and general "being nice" 4 stars for the cupcakes, not all the flavors are consistent, and the gluten free, while very good, could be a little lighter I think. 5 stars for being very connected to the area and events in the area. The cupcake didn't have taste to it. Disappointed. Then I have to say I said something to the owner. Well he certainly wasn't a peach to take care of it. He complained and said how it's fresh made. Well when you got frozen cupcake you bite into you expect fresh not old ones. So I asked for a new cupcake I wanted a peanut butter cup. Looked like maybe it was fresh. Well again customer service and cupcakes were rated a 0 Again the cupcake was rock hard. There are 4 flavors we have come across, chocolate chip, a molasses (I think) based one, some coconut one and another. I forget all the names, sorry. She sells them 3 for $5. I don't think you can buy one at a time anymore. The cookies are probably 3-4 inches across, so large enough to share easily. They are very good. I love it when people find something they love to make and are good at it. They can focus on it. Not trying to "be all things to all people" but rather focus on a target audience. Carla makes very good cookies and branches out only a little from what I have seen. She can also be found at the Williamsville Market, and I think I saw her at the North Buffalo one as well.

Made by Yomma (hence the name) are chicken or shrimp spring rolls. 2 for $5. They come nicely packaged with sauce and crushed peanuts on the side in small recyclable plastic containers. We have had them twice now and both times they have been super fresh and made while we waited. If you shop a little later in the day you probably won't wait, but we have been the first customers of the day both times. Going forward they (it's a husband and wife team) are expanding the offerings a little but they are still thinking about what to offer. Her cupcakes are terrific according to her husband, but since the market already has cupcakes and other treats they have focused on the spring rolls. Just as I found Jolie here two years ago now I fully expect Yomma to be wildly successful with her offerings here. I would not be surprised to see her expand over time too. Find her Saturdays here.
