The Goat was a fun place to watch the game Sunday afternoon. The draft beer selection is limited but I was happy to enjoy Truth and noticed several beer options in cans. I loved the fried pickles with the two dipping sauces. My boneless wings were not overly breaded and the sauce was delicious. My boyfriend enjoyed his burger with sweet potato fries too. I have to say I am surprised that I liked this place. My husband and I have talked about going but always choose somewhere else to avoid the young hipsters that we believe frequent The Goat since they are located within apartment complexes. We also feared inferior food. I met a friend for dinner last night; this was her suggestion. I was pleasantly surprised at the friendliness of the staff and how spacious it is. There is outdoor seating by the pool, and my friend saw even more dining space when she walked back to the restrooms. We were there during happy hour (it lasts until 7) so were able to get cocktails for $5, and then my wine with dinner was only $4. We each got a salad and enjoyed them very much. She had the Italian Chop, and I had the Avocado Lime with added blackened fish. It was really delicious. It comes with their Chipotle Ranch dressing, and two wedges of pita. Stopped in for a holiday gathering with some coworkers. I really really enjoy the high ceilings. There are TVs even in the more private sections. I really enjoy the ambiance and it is really nice inside. The bar area is cool. You seat yourself upon coming in. The higher chairs are uncomfortable and they swivel which makes it difficult to get onto them. Also, they have very small seats on them. This was a little disappointing since I love bar height and counter height chairs. The portions are small. I ordered Large boneless wings and fries. The boneless wings are weird. You can tell that they are made in house but, they are small and you don't get many even for a LARGE order. I like that the food is served on little cute trays but it makes me wonder if they are actually washed in between uses. Even then, it's not much food and the drinks (soda pop only) were 2.50 and fountain drinks shouldn't be so expensive. I'd return for the atmosphere. We were not greeted upon entry, we were left at our table for almost 20 minutes before someone came to take our order, once we ordered it took 45 minutes for our food to be served. At which time NO ONE came to check on us. The chicken could not even be cut with a knife and the vegan Mac and cheese was filled with grease yet dry impossible meat and a horrible odor. I do not like leaving reviews such as this but I emailed them to inform them of our experience and I was very professional and now it has been two weeks and no one has acknowledged the email. The order was not complicated and nothing extravagant only part of our party was served and when an ordered pizza came out that was ordered with no onions came out smothered in onions. If we would have not seen them and eaten it would have been a disaster as the reason for no onions is we are allergic to them. Only part of the whole order that came out was a pizza a hamburger and fries. The fries were not cooked all the way. Just received a message from Yelp stating The Goat needs more food pictures. When we got there and the sign in the entrance said, "please seat yourself," I suspected there might be a staffing problem and I was right. The restaurant was only about half-full for a noon lunch, but service was horrendously slow. It took 50 of the 60 minutes my wife and I allotted for lunch to deliver a single burger and tater tots to our table. The food itself was ok, but way too pricey for what you get and lacked any punch of flavor. My wife and I are used to splitting an entree at just about any place we go and that just wasn't reasonable at the Goat. We got a tiny burger ($11) and 6 tater tots ($3 upcharge) that would barely be considered an appetizer at most places. The tots were the limited highlight of the meal, being obviously fresh and house-made, but the seasoning was light and the beer cheese condiment tasted like neither beer or cheese. The signature Goat burger was just a burger. It looked good, was prepared correctly, but the goat cheese and roasted pepper toppings added nothing. The wait staff was competent despite being obviously overworked. The poor girl waiting our table was doing double-duty at the bar and still managed to be around enough to not be missed. She even topped off our water at one point which was appreciated. It isn't her fault the kitchen couldn't keep up with the orders. The building is probably the restaurant's most remarkable feature. It is airy, with huge vaulted ceilings and an open-wall feature that was being put to good use on a beautiful spring day. They have patio seating and an adjacent sand volleyball court that was being used the entire time we were there. The space is dominated by a center bar that would probably be a good place to hang out during happy hour. The overall volume of the restaurant was considered "moderate" by my soundprint application, but I would consider it louder than average and would hate to be there during a busy period. read more

After we were seated, it took them nearly 30 mins to come to our table and another 30-45 mins to bring our food. The food itself was not bad but not good either. My hamburger was decent and the pizzas (Hawaiian and spicy chicken) we ordered for the table were decent, but nothing stellar here. My husband and I regular the goat as my brother in law and his girlfriend live here. The highlights are the bar area, the atmosphere is very New York at a Christmas time - rustic-y. During the summer they open all the windows and doors and you can sit at the bar outside. They have a large selection of beer and wine. Food is good, better than your standard bar food. I love the so-cal and goat cheese wrap. The pizzas are very good, thin crust and crispy - lighter than your average pizza. We always order the ranch nachos with chicken - *yumm* their service is always good. Overall a great spot if you live nearby. Stopped in for lunch. Not really easy to see until you get into the lot. Beautiful building with a really nice exterior seating area that also seems to be set up for summer activities. The interior is nicely decorated and seems comfortable for different levels of attire. Seems to be well set up to accommodate groups. Ordered a burger and farmhouse tots. Burger was smaller than I expected but plenty for lunch with a side. It was prepared as requested and tasted good- could have been seasoned better for my taste. The Farmhouse tots were excellent!! First off, I love the Goat. Great wings. Great burgers. Great atmosphere in the summertime. I bring people here all of the time. It's a good spot. But this place has a few issues. The music can be overwhelmingly loud. I think y'all could benefit from a sound guy / gal to help these acts get dialed in at comfortable levels. And second, there are often inconsistencies with the food. One visit I'll have the best burger ever and the next visit, i feel like I'm eating a sloppy burger from Rally's. read more

The Goat is another residential area bar. It's located in this cookie cutter area of Hilliard. This is mostly a popular area for the residents. It's nothing special enough to bring in outsiders. The food is mediocre too. It seems they were copying the format of Bonopizza, which too is located in an apartment complex. It fails miserably, no small part to the absolute lack of atmosphere. The beer selection is the best thing. It has some from Ohio. The cocktails are not impressive. It all seems full of chemicals and weak. The food menu has some healthier items among the typical bar shit. It has a veggie pita for about $7. That may be the best tasting thing on the menu. It must be mentioned the service is totally abysmal. The waitresses were all airheads. It took several minutes to be greeted. They weren't even busy but they still had no time for us. It was at that point we decided to try a few drinks and get the fuck out. The blueberry mule is about $5. It wasn't a good mule, it seeming very watered down. The pop they used in another drink tasted like flat 7 Up. It should also be mentioned it's owned by Lifestyle Communities. The same company that sponsored the Pavilion. If this company makes you think of privileged recent college graduates, you're onto the atmosphere here.
