Some people have written negative reviews about Goffle Grill however it is said to be a staple , a must go, for this area . We gave it a try. GG is exactly what you would expect : a classic quick hot dog and fries type of place . It's not fancy but it's not suppose to be. It's cheap , done right , deep fried dogs with other options as well. You never hear anyone say bad things about the famous Ruts Hut, which is basically an old , no seats , deep fried hot dog , trucker stop; and I love it for that reason . So give GG some love and order their famous Texas wiener all the way, an Italian hot dog and some fries or rings. I have been going to this place for years. I usually get the roast beef sandwich with gravy (piled high & always a bit rare which I like), cheeseburger with chili sauce or french fries with chili sauce-all delicious. Not the greatest weiner joint in Jersey. Doen't make top ten. I should have relied on fellow yelpers reviews before ordering. But, big stomach overruled my judgement. I grew up eating at this place and although I do not go that often these days it still remains a favorite. In my high school years I would enjoy a milkshake a burger "all the way" and fries with cheese. Now as I am about to turn 40 and eat a healthier diet (no longer eat meat and try to keep a rein on fried foods) I can still get my grille fix as they have added salads and a really great veggie wrap with broccoli rabe in it! I am partial to North Jersey hot dogs although I don't think Hot Dog Johnny's is 'all that'. Goffle Grill has been a stop of mine for 20 plus years and their Texas wieners 'all the way ' are just fantastic. The dogs are 'rippers' and that makes all the difference. Love me some onion rings there too. Easy on easy off Rt 208. To their credit they have a rather expansive menu, steaks, burgers, etc, but since I don't live close anymore I just stick with my Texas wieners. read more

Reluctant to come here because of the mixed reviews but how would I know unless I tried it myself. Ordered 2 Texas Wieners which are deep fried with onions, mustard & chili sauce. Prices were $2.20 each which seems to be the going rate. The wiener was good with a decent wrinkle on it, the onions were finely chopped and were pungent to my taste, the chili sauce was extra mild (a.k.a. weak) and the bun was, well, just a bun. When I ask for my fries well done, they are WELL DONE. I have NEVER had a floppy french fry here in years. I mean years....at least 20. Been going here fir decades, issuance real good, but, in the last 2 years it's become awful. Dirty and smelly. Last 3 times I ate there I got sick. Ate 3 different things too. I think the bread gets moldy and the serve it anyway. Sad, I liked it, clearly they don't care, or they wood have addressed the many reviews just like this. This place went straight to the bottom when the father left it is so dirty all the time they never clean the tables or sweep the floor the large windows are so dirty you can't see out of them, the bathrooms are so disgusting, dress warm in the winter because they don't turn on the heat, today is my last visit I will be going to Falls View exclusively for now on its only 10 minutes away its such a shame I've been coming here for many years. read more

I've lived up the street from this place for 27 years now and once every eight years I decide to give this place another chance and every time I do I always say to myself "ugh that's why I never come here." Didn't even get to try the food. The staff was horrible. I understand they only take cash but the staff didn't even mention the ATM. All I got was a dirty look and the waitress saying cash only. Gross food, dirty place. There are better options out there and at a much better price. Get me "Restaurant Impossible" to sort out: 1) The "turkey" patty I asked to be substituted for the pizza burger was some kind of gray, processed and pressed meat. The pizza sauce plain and probably out of a can. I ate half, just looked and tasted too gross to finish. 2) My family had the hot dogs and said they were "ho-hum". I was concerned about what processed meat was in those dogs...also a strange looking color. 3) Service wasn't too bad if you don't count the girl sitting on the back counter doing something on her cell phone. Her butt was on a surface they put food on...yuck! 4) Why should I put anything in this place's tip jar when we can't even find a clean table to sit at? A worker ended up swiping the tables with a dirty rag after we left. I just wanted to give my whole family a liquid detox cleanse and a shower after leaving Goffle Grill. read more

Made a stop for a quick lunch. Dogs were on par with the other Texas weiner joints in the area. Decent sized, good sauce, fresh onions (and celery I believe), all in a steamed bun. Fries were standard frozen variety. I tried a bite of my dad's burger and it had a good char-grilled flavor. Good value, and worth noting they have the "Impossible" burger on the menu. Plenty of parking around the back, under what looks like it used to be a roof for a drive-in. Speaking of which, that drive-in roof is in bad shape. It could use some new paint--or even be removed. I hate to say it but the dining room could also use some work. Even some minor maintenance like cleaning the condiment bottles would go a long way. One more thing--CASH ONLY. read more

They are so close to making this place something remarkable. A little more flavor (maybe more pepper, more salt, some franks or browning sauce) and Goffle Grill would be on it's way. Got two texas style hotdogs and onion rings. Delicious. but I tasted the oil rather then the flavor. The cashiers were good with suggestions. One of the people I was with has vegetarian diet restrictions. Luckily, one of the girls that worked at Goffle was too. So she made some choice suggestions. We ended up getting a baked cod sandwich. I love goffle grill. I'm really happy I'm finally getting around to writing a review. I used to come here for lunch in high school every now and then. I get a burger and a dog usually although I shouldn't. Both with cheese and chili sauce and devoir the deep fried goodness. Every now and then I get a dog all the way, I never regret it. I don't usually like deep fried Burgers, but I love this burger. Came here around midday, there was a lunch crowd, nothing terrible. Been here many times, I grew up in the area so this place brings back some memories. Honestly I don't think I have ever been disappointed coming here. You have to realize this is a burger joint, they have fries, chili, breakfast sandwiches, etc. food is decent, atmosphere is outdated, but when it comes to just enjoying some grilled classics, it doesn't matter.
