A hidden gem on the border of Fairburn and Fayette County. I grew up around here but have lived in California for a long time, so I'm particular about Mexican food. It's been a staple every time I've come back home. It doesn't look like much from the outside but it's an excellent Mexican seafood restaurant. The space is clean, the food is as good as you'll find in lots of places out west, and the service is excellent. I recommend the torre de mariscos, aguachiles, the grilled octopus, and really any of the tacos. Not your usual Mexican spot in Georgia, so check it out. This place was amazing!! Don't let the location deter you from visiting. They start by bringing a tuna salad dish with crackers. It is wonderful. I ordered the birria tacos that were very flavorful. My husband had the steak, with lobster topped with a scallop seafood salad. The steak was a little chewy but don't hesitate to order any of the seafood dishes. Seems counter intuitive in the middle of Georgia. We will definitely be back. Just moved here from California so finding great authentic Mexican food has been a challenge. This is right next door to a gas station so it seems sketchy but the inside is nice and clean. Don't let the location of this hidden gem fool you. The sign outside doesn't say The Golden Bite since it is in Spanish. The service is also great! It gives you a Mexican restaurant vibe but they serve tons of seafood dishes as well. The fish tacos were good and fresh. The tuna/crab dip that they bring out wasn't too bad as well. The Cuban sandwich was HUGE. We weren't expecting the sliced hot dog and eggs in it but it was tasty overall. The margaritas were great. You can order them frozen or on the rocks. The Blue Bay tastes similar to a piña colada on the rocks but was made just right. It had just enough kick but not too much. Each drink is served in a large glass so you definitely get your money's worth for the drinks as well as the food. Decided to try this spot after searching Yelp for restaurants. When I arrived, I was kinda skeptical because it's connected to a plaza right next to a gas station with very limited parking, but once inside, you wouldn't notice. They have a lot of seafood on the menu, which is different for a Mexican restaurant. They also don't give chips and salsa but instead offer a mixture of tuna and imitation crab meat with crackers, which was surprisingly good. Although I was at a Mexican restaurant, I decided to order the Cuban Torta. From what I could tell, it had chorizo, egg, cheese, and a hot dog on it. It was very good and flavorful. I got a side of rice instead of fries. The rice could have used a bit more seasoning. The sandwich came with a habanero sauce, which I tasted and passed on--too spicy for me! I ordered on ubereats so I cannot speak to the ambiance of the place. What I can say is that the food arrived to me so delicious and fresh. The quesabirria is delicious and the consommé actually has flavor! They come with the traditional green and red salsa. The tomatillo salsa is so good, because time I'll order an extra side. Fabulous meal after a long day at the Georgia Renaissance Festival--the portions are gigantic, everything was fresh and delicious, and the service was great. My friend loved the birria ramen, which is pictured on the menu but not listed. The rest of our party got the ceviche tower, tacos al pastor, birria tacos, and a chicken quesadilla. My husband enjoyed the paracetamol cocktail (I loved it, if you like tajín and fruit give it a try). I got the reina pepiada arepa (chicken and avocado) as a starter, and honestly that could've been my meal. My entree was the pollo riviera maya, and it was stellar; the shrimp were perfectly cooked and it had lots of mango. The carrot slices were a really nice addition. So many impressive reviews... I wish I could say the same. The street corn had nice flavor but the corn was WAY over cooked. You had to pay for chips and salsa but at least the chips were good. Not made in house, but good. The arepas flavorless. Not traditional arepas at all. Most likely premade. It's like this restaurant couldn't decide what it wanted to be. The food here was REALLY good! My family popped in for lunch on a Saturday. The kids meals were much higher quality than we might have gotten them off a typical kids menu. Really good shrimp and fish fingers for them. I had the Diablo shrimp. They were solid! I have a high tolerance for heat and they satisfied me well. They were spicy and flavorful. The salad dressing is really good too. My wife had a steak and scallops and she was happy with her meal too. I will say that I was quite pleasantly surprised by this little spot. I was a little hesitant at first by the location (a strip mall, next to a gas station food mart), but I'm really glad we didn't just a book by its cover. This place is 2 for 2! Today was my second time coming. Today I came with my 3 kids because I didn't feel like cooking lunch and I don't really like giving them fast food. Here, the lunch specials are worth it. The garlic shrimp lunch special is what I ordered. It came with a salad and rice. Nice and filling! My kids split the kid's shrimp & rice with the empanada (2piece) and rice. The fresh avocado on top is something these other restaurants have stopped doing and charging for it and then blaming COVID still. I appreciate they still do that small thing. Think " reducing your carbon footprint" and giving back to local "mom & pop" restaurants.
