I went to put together my son's first golf club set and Mark was extremely helpful and knowledgeable in knowing exactly what would work beat for him. Went in to get a putter shaft installed in a putter head ( I had shaft and Putter head) theres 6 guys standing around a register and not a single one of them know how to glue a shaft? It's hard to describe how bad the customer service here is. I want so badly to like this place, but every time I go here is like pulling teeth from the staff for basic golf club information. I came in today ready to drop $600 on a new driver, upon arrival to the fitting station the technician (if you can even call them that) looked at me like I was the mother of his ex-wife. Not only could he not answer basic questions about the differences between different driver versions, cost for parts, etc, I could genuinely feel a strong sense of annoyance at my very presence in the store. I finally just walked out as the guy helping was so awful I did not want my money going to them regardless of the driver. Realize that people are coming in for guidance, help, and a direction on what clubs work for their game. I understand working in a golf store might get boring at times but find people who actually give a crap about the paying customers in the store. If the criteria to working here is an ability to make the customer feel like an inconvenience then this store is an absolute success. read more

I fortunately pulled an old 5 wood out of my closet and low and behold the club responded so well I could not even imagine why I put it in there. The new issue that I was confronted with is that after all that time I neede a new grip. Because it was the taylor made bubble shaft no one would entertain attempting to regrip. I walked into the Escondido Golf Mart, saw a person in the back where grips are installed. I told him my issue and he quickly replied he could do it. He had a tool that enabled him to complete the task. I ran out to my car, got the club and a half an hour later the job was complete! Test out said clubs on the in-store simulators. Whether new or used. Step 4. Leave store with upgraded clubs at a discounted rate due to your store credit. Optional Step 5. Return your clubs within 90 days of purchase for the same in store credit you just bought them for. This is just my story, but I'm fairly certain that regardless of your skill level, Golf Mart is going to give you some amazing customer service and ultimately give you some tools to help improve your game. I went into the shop and asked the sales person to get fitted for irons, which is the first time i have ever done it. I don't know what to expect and how the process works. The sales guy just gives me 2 clubs and walks away and lets me hit the ball. He comes back and I had to tell him which ones I wanted to try. He would get them but never gave any pointers and advice on anything. He would also tell me that some were expensive and it would take months to arrive, which made it seem like he didn't care for the sale either. I ended up Buying a set not knowing if they're fitted for me. My friend came along and told me afterwards that fitting sessions aren't like that and didn't want to be rude in the store. It was a bad experience and I'm going to return the set and go elsewhere to get property fitted with better service. read more

I regret coming here for more than a dozen balls and tees. I brought my clubs in to get regripped and one for a new shaft. The story manager, Colin (maybe Craig) basically laughed at the reshaft request telling me my clubs are too old and it would be "too hard" for them to do, and continued to try to upsell me to buy a new set of clubs in the store. I've been around this game for a long time, played competitively, and I know my Callaways are not outdated. I don't need to be shamed into a new set, and if I were in the market I'd go get fitted. The grips are put on inconsistently and crooked, and I'm going to have to go to a different store to have them redone. I don't know why it took Golf Mart 6 days to screw up a pretty simple project, but they pulled it off. Kudos! I always liked Roger Dunn shops and thought this was somehow affiliated in terms of customer service and quality of workmanship, but I guess not. I won't be back. read more

Went to go purchase my first set of clubs. 3 employees were behind the counter having a conversation as I walked in, they didn't even acknowledge me entering the store. I wondered around the store clearly in need of assistance but was completely ignored. At one point an employee asked me to step aside so he could answer the phone on a post. Me and my wife are new to golf and we needed clubs so went to another golf store and they didn't even talk to us the whole time I was in the store so left and went to Golf Mart. Right as came in the door we were greeted with hello. As we walked towards the club area Vic asked if we needed any help. We told we were new and needed some guidance and more then happy help. He measured us put us on the swing anilizer. He was so helpful and knowledgeable I feel like we got a free lesson. We ended up buying two sets of clubs. I had a kink in my swing for a while so I went in for a fitting thinking I was going to buy some new clubs. I got on the launch monitor with Don Clarke and went through a complete fitting. He noticed right away that my setup was off and made a quick correction. It helped immediately and my numbers on my shots were back to my normal range. We also looked as some newer clubs with slightly different lie angles and I was immediately seeing 10 to 15 yards improvement on every club. I eventually ended up sending my current ping irons into the factory to get bent accordingly. I bought new Vokey wedges that Don expertly bent in the store for me. I had everything regripped, and I am loving the results. Point is, Don Clarke is as knowledgeable and helpful as they come. He wasn't just trying to sell me a full new set. He listened and observed and we both came to the perfect custom solution for me. If you want a basic retail sales experience, then go to any sporting goods store. Stopped by at 9am this morning to have some clubs retro-fitted. The sales person, I did not catch their name, and I were the only people in the shop. I asked for the grips on my irons to be re-gripped at standard length and I was met with criticism for the wording I used to explain this. Ok... fine, I thought, and decided to continue to mention the other work I was looking for on the clubs. The loft and lie were set up about 2 degrees and I asked to have them set back to the "standard" for the clubs. He then acted confused and said there is no "standard" for loft and lie. Clearly he was just being a jerk at this point as standard is regarding to factory standard set up. At this point, I just picked my clubs up and walked out. Guy didn't care that I was leaving, probably felt good about his smug self. Will never shop at ANY Roger Dunn shop again. I've been playing for 20 years and have never been treated with such disrespect by a sales person. EDIT: I write this because I had a similar experience with the same guy last week. Worst Golf Mart I've ever been to. Older guys didn't even say hello and just looked at me. Then the other two guys that work there are spending their time in the hitting bay just hitting balls. My son walks over to the one next to them who mind you is a scratch golfer... they tell him he can't hit there because it's for fittings only. It was a heavier white guy with gray hair. Well if my son can't hit there take your SM7 conversation elsewhere and go work instead of hogging the hitting bay. Worst golf store ever. read more

I had my clubs cut and regripped, with grips I purchased elsewhere. They were so helpful with getting my clubs to a proper length for me and not condescending when answering my questions. The staff at this location are all friendly and helpful. I wanted new Callaway clubs to replace my old set so I stopped at this store to check them out . Dan is the one I first talked with and was very helpful and knew what was talking about. I told him what I wanted to accomplish . He brought over to shafts and to club heads . I hit the first one and then the second one . He made some adjustments to one of them and I was drawing it right into the center of the fairway on the monitor . He looked at me and said this is the one for you . I had a big smile on my face because I knew it was for me . The Epic MAX driver 2021 was the one plus the 5 wood. I also bought the Apex DCB irons set boy I did go for it right lol . And a few other items as well . Very one was happy for me .
