    Chocolate croissant and coffee
    Michael S.

Amazing croissant so much chocolate inside!! Coffee was on the weak side but the chocolate croissant was delicious!

Great coffee shop in Chicago. Very creative drinks, great food options, and friendly service. The inside is spacious and a great spot to work or meet with friends. Definitely coming back next time I'm in Chicago!

We had great service, delicious coffee drinks, and good food. The iced latte was so cute with a mini muffin in it! The food came out quickly and accurately, and we really liked the variety on the menu. A great option for a quicker brunch in a fun setting.

Turkey Bacon & Egg Croissant Impossible Breakfast Sandwich
    Gia G.

We got the turkey bacon & egg sandwich, the Impossible breakfast sandwich (they swapped to egg whites for no extra charge, which I appreciated), and hashbrowns. The food was good overall, but the hashbrowns came out a little cold, so that knocked it down to 3 stars for me. Loved sitting by the window and people watching. The staff seems pretty young, so service isn't the most attentive and it's a bit confusing who's on register vs. floating in the back. You might have to flag someone down, but the vibe itself is nice.

I needed a quick breakfast before heading home since I was just here for a weekend trip. It was crowded and they had a nice variety of pastries and a breakfast menu. I got a lavender latte and a cereal bowl which was granola, bananas, fruit compote, toasted coconut and choice of milk. I really enjoyed it was a nice something different than what you typically find at coffee shops. It was a clean and quiet stop with a small seating area.

Rainy day here in ORD had us making a pitstop to warm up and feed our tummies. Super busy inside, but the line moved quickly. Had a cute outdoor patio for a nicer day. Inside is clean and cute. Tables smooshed together to maximize space, yet still feel comfortable. Food arrived quickly. Taste was pleasant and surprising. Very good, especially with the poor stars. My only ding I give them is the coffee I ordered hot, came out Luke warm at best. Employees weren't super nice and acted annoyed.

Bakery case, gluten items with gluten free items with no separation
    Lori R.

For a place that has a lot of gluten free options the cross contact was out of control and the staff was not knowledgeable about the menu in regards to gluten free options. I can deal with there not being gluten free items but I get mad when they have a "gluten fee" item and shove it into a case covered in gluten with NO attempt to keep it separate. The "gluten free items" are not gluten free as they are touching gluten, and likely not prepared very carefully so there's no way these are actually gluten free due to cross contact. I didn't trust anything. The staff couldn't discuss the gluten free labeled menu items and the food wasn't very good. The line was crazy long and I came here for false advertising. Celiacs should avoid but if you're trendy gf it's fine if you don't have a medical need and it's a preference. Was torn between giving this 2 or 3 stars but really it's more a 2 than a three. Hard pass.

Many Chicago natives have recommended Goddess and the Baker, so when I passed by the cafe on my last day of the trip, I decided to stop by. Service was pretty quick for a weekday morning. I think a lot of people were trying to get caffeine before the work day! The menu looked so expansive. I really wanted to try the fall drinks, but the mango matcha caught my eye. I figured that I could get a pumpkin spice latte at other cafes, so I went ahead and tried the unique flavor of mango matcha! I loved how aesthetically pleasing the inside of the cafe looked. If I wasn't running late to the office, I definitely would've sat inside to enjoy my drink. Can't wait to stop by again next time I'm in Chicago!

    Chicken Caprese

Now, this specific location is fairly disappointing. If you order the tuna melt GF, you'll get exactly 1/2 the quantity you receive at the Madison location, for the same price. Or just generally, if you order a sandwich from this location, prepare for disappointment. Sure, this location likely gets by on customer volume based on the location, but the quality of execution at this location is subpar. What's also weird about this location is how the bathroom line intersects with ordering line and the general customers standing around waiting. A bit cramped, crowded, but somehow nice and sunny. Table seating, window seating. I suppose the positive was that the smaller portion sizes enables finishing a quick bite in less time.

I was in town for business, and my coworker recommended that we go here. There was a line when we arrived, but it moved pretty quickly. I asked the server if they recommended one of the drinks and they said no and I definitely appreciate the honesty! I ordered something else plus the ham and cheese croissant and they were both very good. It's a cute place.

    Pistachio Raspberry Cream Cold Brew

I honestly do not understand the low rating this spot currently has. This Goddess has become my go-to spot to work from. It's always bustling (I love how one of the other reviews put it and echo the sentiment "People move with purpose but there's no rush or stress."), but the line moves fast and the drinks/food always come out very quickly. The staff is friendly and always super fast at cleaning/turning down tables. I love to come here to work remote and the location right by the river with the train going by makes it so scenic and fantastic for people watching. Good energy and vibes. As far as drinks, I LOVE my tiramisu latte. YUM. The pistachio raspberry cold brew (limited time only) is also fantastic. I've tried their strawberry matcha as well but wasn't too impressed - felt a little milk heavy and the strawberry didn't blend well. The green with the red also wasn't the most aesthetic. What they should really do is offer the matcha with the raspberry foam on top. I've also had the southwest wrap which was solid.

Iced latte Turkey Bacon & Egg Croissant
    Brandon P.

I was surprised to see such a low rating for this spot that has become one of our favorites in Chicago. The pastries are always fresh and tasty and the avocado toast is a go to for my wife. We literally get coffee here each morning when we are in town. The place is always packed yet the line is usually just a couple of people and service has always been quick for us. This is definitely not a 3 star in my opinion!

    Iced Bananas Foster Latte
    Becca K.

Picked up a banana foster latte before work after seeing it viral on TikTok! I thought it was an okay drink (a little too sweet) but you can taste the banana in the drink. I'm curious to see what other drinks taste like here...

I've been a customer of almost 10 years and have been obsessed since they first opened their doors at a different location. I literally live an hour away without traffic and even longer with traffic, but I make sure to stop by or send someone else to get it for me at least once a month or more. I love the amazing cakes that are so delicious and unique but on top of that, it is Asian owned, LGBTQ supporting, etc. A lot has changed since their little storefront with no seating. The bakery is now a full on cafe and I'm so happy to see how much they've grown and how successful they are. And while it is glorious, I will say I miss the sweet neighborhood charm and great customer service it used to have. Getting in touch with the bakery through phone or text can be tough and to be honest, sometimes one of the people working there is kind of...very mean. It had me questioning if I should keep coming back. I just love this bakery so much though and being raised by parents that had a small food business, I can't help but want to support. I had a particularly difficult last minute request for the bakery a few weeks ago and I was reminded why this place is so great. It had been YEARS since I made this specific request, which was an order for a slice of cake for every flavor and a cupcake for every flavor. This is a BIG and time consuming request, especially if it's last minute. Unfortunately I come to the city whenever the traffic isn't atrocious, so it's always last minute. Dom absolutely pulled through though. Even though there were other employees there (I saw two others but one disappeared and then another male was kind of walking around the cafe and such), Dom took this giant request and fulfilled it himself. The other gentleman (not the mean person previously mentioned) was actually who I made the request to, but he told Dom to do it. I was kind of confused why they didn't do it together but idk, maybe the other guy isn't allowed to handle food? Who knows. Regardless, this request obviously took a long time and the line was getting longer; people were getting a little restless but Dom stayed calm but was swift. I swear he was moving faster than most people in the industry could with a cake knife like that. He was not impatient or rude to me at all. He was just there to do his job as fast and well as possible. It's so rare to see that type of work ethic. He is also so obviously proud of the bakery and the food they serve which makes you feel good about being a patron there. So although I continue to have an unpleasant experience with one particular employee there, Dom keeps my love for this bakery alive. He reminds me of what this bakery was like when they first opened their doors. I hope Dom is cherished there and I bet he is considering his work ethic. I will continue to support this bakery and I recommend everyone else to support as well. It may not be that small little shop anymore but Dom is a reminder of the heart of the place.

I bought 3 and my friend got 2. Calamansi cream + pistachio paste danish was my favorite. The Calamansi cream was the perfect texture and density with a fragrant citrus note. When I took a sip of coffee afterwards it made my coffee taste like I was drinking fresh orange juice. The pistachio is more cake like inside than full paste and isn't too sweet. Flaky dough, soft pistachio center and creamy top with a sharp citrus cut. Peach + raspberry Melba danish. The peaches were soft. I'm not familiar with a Melba dessert but the center of this was almond paste which is not my favorite but if you like almond and tart danish it would hit the spot. Raspberry espresso cream cheese cinnamon roll was a fun fruity twist to a cinnamon roll. Couldn't really tell there was espresso though. Blueberry lime cheesecake danish. I also liked this one because of the lime. It really cuts through the heaviness. The fruits on top were also fresh. They also have one day old blind boxes. I grabbed a 6 piece day old box to go and it was actually 6 different pasteries, half sweet and half savory! It only repeated 1 of the pasteries I had originally tried so I'm excited to try more, especially the savory ones. It's an amazing deal if you just want to try a variety of flavors. Tried the Hot dog danish - really good! Upscale pigs in a blanket vibes. The tiny fried are seasoned perfectly and add a fun crunch. The splashes of Dijon cut through and it doesn't feel oily at all.

Let me tell you, it was all I hoped it could be and more. The storefront was pretty small with a few tables- between the size, hours, and popularity (they were only open a few days a week and closed at 2pm), I suspected that the shop sold out often. I went on a weekday and there was still a good selection of pastries left around 11am. The staff was super nice and helpful as I struggled to make a decision. They shared that the strawberry milk croissant was their bestseller, so I opted for that. It was filled with fresh strawberry mascarpone and fresh strawberry puree. Despite the croissant's decadent appearance, it was not at all too sweet. I'm not typically the biggest croissant fan (I know, I know, no one is perfect) but this pastry blew me away. The filling was super generous without overpowering the delicate dough, which was baked to crispy perfection. Sadly, I don't get to the area often, but I will 100% be back asap to try more of the menu. Run- don't walk to pay a visit!
