Rarely do you find a stellar cocktail bar that also offers delicious dishes. A group of us came here for dinner during a bachelorette weekend and we thoroughly enjoyed it. I got the bone marrow which was delicious but it felt really oily after finishing the meal. The short rib portion size was plenty and it was cooked well. The cocktails are fantastic, especially the Wet my Beak drink!

"I came for the aesthetic, I stayed because I couldn't find the exit (and the Mezcal was on fire)." First off, finding this place feels like a low-stakes escape room. You walk into Crust Simply Italian looking like you're lost, find the "secret" door, and suddenly you're no longer in a family-friendly pasta house--you're in a moody, Art Deco fever dream. It's dark enough in here that I couldn't see my own bad decisions, which is exactly how I like my speakeasies.

It took us a minute to figure out how to get into this place Apparently there are several entrances but we were told, we did come through the front entrance Tucked away in this development, you will find signs leading you to the entrance which was very clever. The atmosphere is so intimate. I love sweet cocktails and asked the waiter what would he recommend. He recommended The Clover. I was very hesitant because it had Gin in it and questioned him but decided to trust him. Boy am I glad I did, it was the most beautiful and tastiest drink I have experienced. I ordered the Shrimp Oreganata along with the Truffle Fries while my friend ordered the the Chicken Alla Vodka (side note, there is no pasta!) Everything was so delicious. I cleaned my plate. The theme of The Goose followed throughout from the check that is bought out in a little nest to a pen that had feathers, I truly appreciated the little details and how everything came together. Trust me, this is a spot worth visiting but be sure to make reservations as it is a small and cozy atmosphere.

The Goose is on the Loose....well only if you drink too much at this speakeasy. This speakeasy has a cool relaxing vibe. Once you find your way to the speakeasy, you'll be greeted with a room that offers small intimate tables and a long bar. The offerings for drinks are amazing: some classic and others spin offs to play off the theme of the speakeasy. All of the drinks sounds amazing, so hard to choose. And you need to choose wisely as drinks are about 20 dollars. Our bartender was amazing on Monday. Super friendly and accommodating. We appreciated learning about all the speakeasy from him. The Speakeasy does provide food from the next door restaurant. The menu has an Italian focus. During peak season in AZ and weekends make sure you make a reservation. If joining the speakeasy during their opening time, you should be ok without a reservation weekdays. Note this speakeasy is part of a group of speakeasy's that each offer their own character. All with bird themes. My only negative is I wish it was darker during daylight: light from outside should be blocked! Cheers.

Date night approved! My hubby booked a reservation at The Goose, and they did not disappoint. We love a whiskey forward speakeasy, and they have a ton of delicious cocktails on the menu. Secretly nestled behind Crust, The Goose offers some delicious bites & desserts. My favorite drink of the night was the "Down Comforter". This was nutty pistachio & chocolate old fashioned, and it was incredible. All of the food we tried was tasty. The garlic shrimp actually paired well with the Mediterranean salad. I also enjoyed the calamari, as it was lightly breaded and served with spicy marinara sauce. Do not skip the butter cake. It is warm, ooey gooey, and has a scoop of ice cream on top. Everything was perfect, and we would definitely dine here again!

Came to the Goose with a few people for a going away party. The door was very difficult to find. You had to go through Crust Pizza then through the server side station where there's a door labeled employee entrance. I guess this may have been the point they were trying to make as a speakeasy feel. Once I finally found the place, decor was beautiful. Chandeliers and the back bar was beautifully lit with a slight gold tones. Food was beautifully presented but taste was just ok for me. The server took about 20 minutes to take the cocktail order then took another 15 minutes to deliver the cocktails for all of us. Throughout the experience the server hardly came by and checked on us. We had to ask for waters to be filled repeatedly. There was 5 of us but table was only set for 4 and it took 3 requests to bring an extra glass and place setting for the 5the person. All in all, service was not too attentive and felt forgotten but there were 3 staff members just huddled around the entry door. It's not a bad place to get cocktails but the service culture can be improved.

What a spectacular evening with Bodie! He is charming, helpful, personable and fun! (And Travis later in the evening) We started the evening by bum rushing the door as Bodie unlocked it at 4. We were the only ones there this early and Bodie quickly brought us into the fold as if we were old friends. I love a solid speakeasy and hadn't been to one in so long! This one is inside crust, which actually is right by my first official apartment that my husband and I had together, so it's always fun to revisit the area! There was a couple little signs outside, and later we as people entering from the back, but we had a host lead us through the other entrance through the restaurant. Really cool vibes in here and we loved the funky goose wallpaper. They have a really fun bar area with cool decor, but my husband and I sat at a booth! My husband got a drink with vodka, passionfruit, prosecco, and I think something else. Mine had mezcal, passionfruit, coconut, mango, and some other stuff! I remarked that our drinks tasted like we were on a tropical vacation haha, they were both so good! My drink was served on fire which was pretty neat. Service was excellent! Drinks are pricey but worth it! Really glad we had the opportunity to visit here!

We came here last Friday late night. Before arriving, I read the reviews so that we could find the door easily, lol. Apparently, they have 3 doors; the first one is the main entrance, I assume, because the host stand was nearby the door. You need to walk around the Italian restaurant and use the back door in the little alley. The second one is connecting to the Italian restaurant from the inside, but mostly the servers and bartenders were using that door. The third one was for the exit which was opening to the parking lot. Speaking of the parking, it was free and had lots of spots when we arrived. All the servers and the bartenders were very friendly and nice, knowledgeable about the menu and the drinks. The presentation was another great point. I wish I was able to take a video, but during that time I just enjoyed watching it. They had a food menu as well, but we just came from another restaurant that, we were extremely full. Just got drinks. I ordered 'Talk to Me, Goose.' It was smooth, not super strong but a good amount of alcohol. My partner got the 'Lakeside.' It was very smoky, and very strong for my taste. But, he is a whiskey person, so he liked it very much. I also liked the egg-shaped chocolates that came with the bill. However, I didn't like the taste of it. Because we already came late, and I am a slow drinker, we didn't have enough time to have a second around. However, we will definitely go back to try other drinks and most likely the food. read more

Great service and good drinks. The food seems to be from Crust next door. It was hard to find at first. The entrance is in the alley behind Crust and other shops. I think you can go through crust too. It's like a speakeasy but almost more like a restaurant with the level of service. I'd go back and have more drinks. They were reasonable pricing...for Scottsdale. read more

We had a delightful evening at The Goose!! We took our grown-up grandkids for drinks and dinner. The drinks were delicious and so creative and original. First it is not easy to find the door to this bar. I ordered the Paloma and my husband ordered the Vesper. Both drinks were nice but the calamari was terrible. Tender but way too salty, we couldn't even eat half the dish. The staff was pleasant but the place is advertised as "elegant" yet patrons are in the establishment wearing baseball hats and casual clothes like what I wear to the grocery store. What has happened to the truly "elegant" cocktail lounges where the dress code is actually followed. I was on the hunt to find another bar similar to the quality and ambience of the late Merc Bar in Phoenix. This place is not even close. I miss the days when men and women took pride in dressing up for a night out on the town. I guess Phoenix/Scottsdale has lost this class. I love speakeasy's, and this one didn't disapppoint! The hidden back door was fun to find, although, I did see others entering through the restaurant. The drinks were good, and the atmosphere was cool. We went for an after dinner drink, and it hit the spot. Service was a bit on the slow side, but it was busy with nearly all seats taken. So much fun! We have already gone back to this hidden little gem a second time. First experience, we arrived right at opening and it was mostly empty. We almost gave up finding it as we wandered around the center to a back walkway. Look for the goose on the metal door! We sat at the bar since we didn't have a reservation. The bar tenders were friendly, knowledgeable and clearly enjoy their work. Second experience was a reserved seat and exceptional as well. Great service, delicious drinks and yummy appetizers. We had the special, toasted ravioli (not St. Louis style) and it was delicious. The pizzetta (margherita & Lombardi with prosciutto added) were the perfect balance for the specialty drinks. The Goose is one of the best kept secrets in Scottsdale. We have always had great service and the bartenders are true professionals, the drinks are made perfectly. It does get busy in the evening and seating is limited, I recommend calling ahead with a reservation. Next door is Crust and they have amazing food, so if you do have a wait, give their food a try. read more

Kain is a fantastic craft cocktailer! My whiskey sour with an egg white was on point! One of the best I've had anywhere. It was balanced and delicious. He also made suggestions about other spirits and I tried a new drink based around the amazing basil they had. Great fresh herbs to choose from. Attention to detail on the glass and decor in there is amazing. Ambiance was nice, good crowd, filled up fast and finally something open a little later. Kain really did his thing. Just like raspberry sorbet without being syrupy sweet. My other friend ordered the premium old fashioned and loved the addition to rum. He said he had never had an old fashioned elevated like that before. I had Wet My Beak and it was the kind of drink that transports you. The strawberry, rose and citrus just blend together for the most delicate combination. A friend of mine told me about this place so we decided to give it a try for her Birthday celebration. It is a very small intimate place with a dark moody vibe & beautiful bar. Perfect for a date night or night out with friends. The service was absolutely wonderful from the sweet hostess to our server & management team who checked in to see how our evening was going. We shared some delicious cocktails & food. We started with some calamari, The shrimp dish & the Pizzetta Lombardi. The stand out dish for me was the calamari I loved the chili sauce that it came with it. It packs a little punch of heat! After dinner we decided to get a drink. I searched for bars near where we had dinner. The Goose came up. I had never heard of this bar but decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. It's a bit hard to find. There is no sign outside, and I thought perhaps it had closed down. It's actually part of Crust and right next door. The bar has a speakeasy vibe. There are a few tables and seating at the bar. We sat at the bar, which I'm glad we did. We were able to interact with the bartenders who were amazing. Not only did they make some amazing drinks, but they also provided great service. The bartender from Hawaii, I wish I could remember his name, was exceptionally good. I mentioned that I was celebrating my birthday. I was surprised when they brought out a complimentary dessert. It was delicious and such a nice gesture. Our party arrived right on time for our reservation, but we were not seated until 15 min later because our table was not ready. It took about an additional 15 min to get tap water for the table (there was not enough provided anyways), and to place our orders too another ~20 min. The food did not arrive until 30 min later. For context, we eventually learned that the restaurant was short staffed and the bartender was also operating as our waiter. When the food finally arrived, there was a mix-up on what was delivered. We had checked with the staff who delivered one of the dishes: we ordered the "wild mushroom" side, but what we received did not look quite like it. We asked clarifying questions x2, but were assured, "no, it is the wild mushroom." Turned out, it was the mushroom empanada that was delivered to our table, which we originally did not order. The management did rectify the situation upon the conclusion of the event when we were paying the bill, but to us, it felt a bit accusatory as if we intentionally wanted to cause a huge fuss about the final total, which was absolutely not the case. The food in general was delicious. If this was a more standard dining experience, it would have been 4-5 stars just for the food. The service was very subpar, and really colored the entire experience negatively, therefore the two star review. I understand that staffing shortages happen -- fine. My family has worked in food service as wait staff for 25+ YEARS, so I am empathetic. But for management to ring up our bill and then come confront us in an inflammatory manner, making us feel like we were wrong, on an occasion to celebrate something special, was extremely disappointing.

I'm not a fan of valet, but I'll take free valet service (minus the tip) over paying more for self parking. Now, let's get to the good stuff. As the self-appointed king of speakeasies, I'm back with another one. Ambiance: (4.5/5): I won't give all of the clues away, but walk to the third floor, look for a book shelf, and you're on the right track. Once you get inside, you'll find an intimate speakeasy. We're talking seating for 12 or so people or so, tops. I imagine getting a seat on a weekend is quite tough, so take that into account and make a reservation. When you do, you'll find out that there's a $25 cancellation fee per person if you cancel within 24 hours of your reservation. I understand that no shows negatively impact restaurants/bars, but I absolutely hate when the cost of doing business is passed off on customers. I'm reliable, but if I'm going with someone else, and they cancel, now I'm in a tough spot. Anyways, I loved the ambiance at The Madam. Think dark wood, sophistication, and some cowboy vibes. They were perfecting a new drink menu and even offered us two drinks on the house. Which was much appreciated! We were lucky, for sure. I went with the one with green chartreuse, which is always a treat. But, when I'm at a speakeasy, I'm hoping that at least half of the selection intrigues me. Recognizing that their tables were probably all booked, I offered for us to sit at a high-top in the bar area or at the bar, if that would help. There were open high-top tables and several open seats at the bar. Well, even that was fruitless. I was informed that the open bar seats were "reserved for the owner's daughter," which was an effective way of telling me my business is unimportant to them. Meanwhile, an older gentleman in a suit who appeared to be a host, stood there watching the situation and doing nothing to help honor our reservation. So, I left. As someone who enjoys their food and has patronized DiMaggio's on multiple occasions, their dismissive treatment left me not wanting to return. Drinks (4/5): Society Swan has an interesting cocktail list, with a good portion of it being martinis. The speakeasy vibes hit here too as you see creativity and sophistication with the cocktails. They're a bit pricey, but overall, my cocktail was good. It's tough for me to say no to drinks with Japanese elements like yuzu. Society Swan is located in the same vicinity as Teleferica Barcelona, Catch, and Din Tai Fung. Quite the corner of restaurants! Looking forward to trying the food next time around.

We first visited this spot during their soft opening about five months ago and had an incredible experience. The bartender was exceptionally knowledgeable and welcoming, the cocktails were generously sized and made with top-shelf liquor, and the rotating food items added a creative touch. My boyfriend's Old Fashioned was even finished with smoked orange peel and wood--an impressive detail that really captured the essence of a true speakeasy. Unfortunately, our return visit last night was a letdown. While cocktail prices have gone down, the quality has noticeably declined. The top-shelf spirits have been swapped for mid-tier alternatives, and when I asked to substitute the vodka in my drink with Ketel One, I was told the cocktails are now "batch made"--definitely not what you'd expect from a craft cocktail bar. The Old Fashioned lacked the smoked elements that made it special the first time, and the portion was significantly smaller. Absolutely blown away by our experience tonight at The Goose, and it's all thanks to Kain--hands down one of the best servers we've ever had. From the moment we sat down, he brought genuine warmth, confidence, and top-tier professionalism. He didn't just serve us--he elevated the entire night. Kain's recommendations were spot on. The short ribs and bone marrow were absolutely to die for--rich, flavorful, perfectly cooked. And just when we thought it couldn't get better, the tiramisu cake showed up and sealed the deal. The Madam is a true speakeasy (no signage and an ambiance which is true to the history of speakeasies), which makes them a winner in my book.
