New brunch spot alert! First, welcome to DC! This restaurant adds value to the culinary journey which is brewing in DC. I must say that I'm excited to see them launch the final brunch menu and take the food scene by storm. Next, their team is so much fun! Shoutout to JP our incredible waiter, Peter-who took great care of us, and the amazing Neyo-the best bartender ever! Each of them took great care of us and made this place feel like home. The rest of the staff were also amazing and very attentive. We decided on their bottomless brunch and bottomless mimosas and I'm glad that we did. Everything we tried and loved: Brown butter lobster scrambled- this was buttery soft and bursting with juicy pieces of lobster. Placed on a bed of the most delicious breakfast potatoes, this shareable dish was worth it. Charred steak and eggs- another winner and a favorite for my cousin. The fried egg was excellent and the perfect selection for the most deliciously prepared NY-strip steak. It also came on a bed of potatoes. Crispy oysters- this was so delectable!!!! My new favorite way to enjoy avocado and fried oyster together! Fried green tomatoes- babyyyyyy this was everything! Placed on a bed of pimento cheese and topped with pepper jelly-honey this was some AMAZING fried green tomatoes! Three layered French toast- I only got to try a small piece because it was oozing with sweetness and something I could enjoy in small bites. Very tasty but again, too sweet for me. Chicken and waffles- the fried chicken strips were seasoned to perfection and the waffle was tasty and fun. Lamb chops and grits- this was sinfully good! AMAZING! Of course I just said that everything was good and I meant it. Everything was extremely delicious. Drinks: Their cocktails and mimosas were excellent! The melon-berry mimosas were my fav! And little fun fact, they use freshly squeezed juices. We decided to order more cocktails: Espresso martini (the espresso was freshly prepared guys! OMG what a delicious addition to a classic drink! And they added nutmeg on top! *chef's kiss* Coco-lychee- think Miami Beach and you'd understand how refreshing this drink was. Agua Fresca- babyyyyy this drink is for the mature folks only! We recently visited The Grace for brunch and had a great time! We were excited to try this new spot and were lucky to go during restaurant week, so we were able to try a bit of everything. Although restaurant week is over, it seems that they'll be offering a limitless brunch now where you can enjoy multiple small plates at a time. I'll start with the highlights. The place itself has been redone and is very well decorated and welcoming. We were greeted immediately and sat right away because we had a reservation. We were in a group of five and everyone enjoyed their meals. The food itself was fresh, flavorful and everything came out all at once for each course, which was nice - sometimes in a group, we can have people waiting but they were very intentional here. The food itself was excellent and we went in with mild expectations given that the place was new. The service started out super strong but towards the end it fell off a bit. I don't blame our server at all, he was wonderful, but I think there was a shift change or end of shift happening and things fell off. First, we were asked if we needed anything else as the kitchen was going to close. We said no - but then our last courses came out and we had to go to the bar to ask for the check after about waiting a half an hour. Not a huge deal but it was interesting because the service had been great up until that point and it seemed they were ready to wrap up with all of the remaining parties, but then never brought the check. The courses did take a bit to come out, but they were spaced just well enough where we weren't too impatient about the next course. Again, I think we need to be understanding that they're just getting started. Overall, we enjoyed our time at The Grace and we will definitely be back to give them another chance - the food was awesome and there's something on the menu for everyone! Cheers to Fall! Had to catch up with my Yelp Girlies before football season started. The Grace is brand new so of course I picked this place to have our girls night out, glad I did. Vy literally said, what is this, five stars? Yes, it is! Tava and I both agree and we are all Yelp Elites! Located in the Shaw area of D.C. parking was way easy for all of us. No issues! 7 p.m. on a Monday, easy breezy! We love that! Ambiance... it's giving low key date night vibes. If you want a good meal without the frills, this is it. It's not casual but not fancy smancy either. Bar was full when I arrived. I headed to the top and was greeted by a server who had our table ready. It was restaurant week so we partook in the menu but we are Yelpies so we got another dish off the à la carte menu to try! Let's get into it! My girlfriend and I were meeting some friends for dinner, but we got to the area early. The actual restaurant wasn't even open yet, so we had to find somewhere else to hang out in the meantime. We saw this place, and saw that it was established this year, but from the outside, it looked so dark. The windows are heavily tinted, so when we stepped inside we were very surprised. It's a beautiful restaurant! There are a handful of high and low tables to sit at, but I feel like the biggest thing is the bar itself. When you first walk in, there are some stairs, and apparently there is more seating up there, but it was closed when we went. All the staff were really friendly, but the one we ended up interacting with the most was Joseph. Their food looked great too, but since we were about to eat, we just got a round of drinks. They have four daiquiris, and they're not the frozen super sweet kind. My girlfriend got the coco-lychee, and I got the tamarind-banana. Wow! Great presentation, wonderful flavors, and spirit forward. This was such a great first impression, and we enjoyed ourselves so much, that we said we might come back after dinner and we're hoping to bring our friends. They didn't come, but we returned anyway. Why did the wild Cherry cocktail taste just like a cherry cola?! Why was the peach pie cocktail literally a dessert?! So well done. The Grace! Oh how I loved thee! The Grace was amazing! So glad a Yelpie bestie recommended this new restaurant and it was restaurant week. Lots of street parking was available so that was a plus! This newly opened restaurant offered food that was delicious and full of flavor. Everything was prepared perfectly and being that it was restaurant week we took advantage of ordering different things. For appetizers we ordered the mango shrimp, the oysters and the twice fried cauliflower. 10/10 for all of those... For our entrees we ordered the burger, the chicken dish and the salmon dish...we also threw in the seafood pasta...10/10 for these options as well. And the meat dishes-of course I didn't have, however those I was with, raved about them so much I'm looking forward to bringing my husband over for date night! Hahaaa!! He loves a good burgers :))) My Aperol Spritz was also perfect! The ambiance was definitely a vibe...music playlist played a varietal of genres and wasn't too loud. Our server was attentive and very knowledgeable and helpful with any questions we had. The dessert option was just one option yesterday and the peach bread pudding was sooooo good! Nice and buttery, not too sweet...would've paired perfectly with a cup of coffee! All in all I'm rooting for this place!! The Grace is a glossy new gastropub in the Shaw area that is to die for! The drinks, the food, and the wait staff are all amazing and cater to the experience! A two-story moody vibe runs throughout the space with great music to match. This seems like a great spot for a solo date, and I saw a few people indulging on their own. We stopped in for happy hour and sat at the bar. The bartenders were friendly and attentive but not annoying so. They take care in making cocktails- not just ours but all the ones they made in front of us. The happy hour drink menu featured daiquiris which I thought was odd. We ordered an espresso martini and an old fashioned. Both delicious. For apps we had: Mango-coconut shrimp - excellent Beef sliders - great beef but the brioche rolls were a bit dense. Worth getting though. Fries - thick cut but a bit soggy. Maybe ask for freshly made or crispy. We arrived at 4PM when they open. Within an hour the bar stools were pretty full and a good number of people were headed upstairs for dinner. We will return next time we're in DC. read more

Such a mess from start to finish. The servers were all very sweet and clearly trying their best, but unfortunately the entire evening was a comedy of errors. There were four of us with a reservation, and we were initially seated at a three-top that very clearly did not have room for a fourth person. The staff then spent several minutes looking around for an extra chair. I eventually had to ask if we could move downstairs, where there was an open four-top. It then took a good 10 minutes to get menus and water. One person in our party has a dairy sensitivity and asked for the burger without cheese. Our server assured us that this could be accommodated. The burger arrived with cheese anyway. It then took 20 minutes to get a replacement burger, leaving the other three of us sitting there staring at our food while our dining companion waited. As if that weren't enough, the dessert course was brought out while all four of us were still eating our entrees. The dining room was also extremely warm and uncomfortable. It was so hot that I had actually sweat through my shorts by the end of the meal. What made the experience even more disappointing was the response afterward. After an evening with this many basic service failures, the only thing they comped was a glass of wine. Again, the servers themselves were genuinely sweet, and I don't blame them for every issue we experienced. But from seating to timing to getting a basic dietary request right, the evening was remarkably disorganized. Unfortunately, after this experience, I would definitely not return. read more

From the moment we walked into The Grace, the vibe was warm and inviting -- the space is beautifully designed, with a thoughtful, stylish feel that sets the tone right away. It only got better from there -- happy hour drinks and food were incredible, service was attentive, the bartenders are happy to explain the story of the people behind The Grace, and I was already planning my next visit before we left. On our first visit last week, Violet made us an excellent cocktail -- well-balanced and clearly crafted with care. Then this past Saturday, we got to chat with Damian, who suggested enhancing my drink with a few dashes of bitters and a flamed orange peel. So glad he did -- the aroma alone elevated the whole cocktail, and it turned out fantastic. The Grace is definitely one of the more unique spots in DC, with a menu that doesn't feel like everywhere else in the city. The chicken wings with house hot sauce were a standout -- crispy, with just the right kick -- and the Caesar salad featured very fresh romaine leaves and was perfectly dressed, not overly heavy like some versions can be. This place is excellent and much needed in the neighborhood. I was a longtime customer of the Passenger (which the Grace replaced) and enjoyed it, but The Grace is much, much better. It's just an unpretentious, well run place with quality food and drinks at a reasonable price. It makes you realize how rare that combination has become. Also beautiful decor, great sound system (they got rid of the super-echo-y vibe of Passenger), and friendly and capable staff. Will definitely be back! read more
