Four server was a little too aggressive as she kept coming back every 30 seconds. After we got our food- she never stopped back except when I flagged her down to get the check. Visited with my family for the first time today; so happy we did! While we were waiting for our table, a friend of mine came in to eat, and told me it was one of his favorite places...I now know why. The menu was just the right size with breakfast and lunch options available (and well-done on the gluten-free options. My daughter has Celiac and you have GF pancakes!). I had the Sriracha omelette and a pancake...fantastic and original. Wife had the 'pick 3'...great idea for lunch. Daughters had huge pancakes. The service was as good as it gets, very attentive, knew the menu and made us feel welcome, as did the 'hostess' (whom it turns out is the owner? That's hands-on.). We went this morning for the 5th time. We have had nothing but great food and service. This time we were with my Aunt, but we have brought other family members before and they loved it as well. Omelets are great, pancakes are good. Orange juice is fresh from Mixon Farms in Bradenton. This is one of the best breakfast places in the area and prices are reasonable. read more

Just opened august 31. So far, so good! I have been there for lunch and breakfast. I had the Monte Kristo! Amazing! The fries that came with it were perfectly flavored and cooked. For breakfast, I had the apple and cream cheese stuffed French toast. I wasn't what I expected. The home fries that came with it had amazing flavor but were not cooked enough. My friend suggested we meet today at The Granary. It was a delightful surprise. The food was fresh and unique not at all like the chain restaurants in our area. The bakery items were absolutely delicious. Yes, we were there for a visit but we did not feel pressured to leave even though they busy. I would highly recommend The Granary to anyone. read more

Really? Really? Really? Unbelievable. My gut feeling said, not today, but I talked myself out of it because the Snowbirds have gone home. I was on a schedule but it didn't look bad at all out front. I walk in to the restaurant and as I walk up to give our name, the hostess says be with you in a moment, as she calls a name from the outside. Someone intercepts and seats for her and she goes to the back. She comes out again and says, "Be with you in a moment" and goes and does something else. As she walks up to take my name, 7 min later, the door swings open and a regular comes in. How do I know this? She says, "Oh Mr ?" calls him by his first name, "Let me put you on the list." Then she looks at me (feeling invisible at this moment) and says, "Your name sir?" We sit. We steam. We look at our surroundings. There have just become 2 tables open. Well a table and a spot for one. Mr preferred customer, retired, who came in after us is taken to a booth. 10 min later, they put 3 chairs around a half table that would truly only hold one person (Perhaps the retiree, the regular, the VIP who gets preferred treatment) and we decline it. The 3rd arrival since our arrival gets the chair. 3rd arrival finishes his meal (20 min later) and as he leaves, they staff pushes two halves together and puts 4 chairs around it and calls us over. Preferred VIP has finished now, and is walking past us as we stare at the booth that under first come first serve would have been hours. The food was great and Jill our server was super, but we are eating the entire meal under this big black cloud so it is far from enjoyable. I reflect on my normal spots that this has never happened to us in: Keke's, Millie's, Word Of Mouth, Station 400, Eggstroidinary, Toasted Mango, The Breakfast House, Metro Diner, First Watch and Sun Garden. I later discover that this has never happened to a friend of mine, who has slightly different tastes at Huddle House, Waffle House and Denny's. Our group ordered a catered lunch and we were thrilled. Pulled Pork, Cole Slaw, Beans and Rolls. The price beat the heck out of competitors. And the quality was as they say "spot on". Barbecue was just the right spiciness, slaw had pineapple (yum). The beans and rolls were just beans and rolls but what else could they do with them? Delivery was on time. My wife and I frequent this place often. The food is always great, as is the service. Everything that we have tried has been delicious. For us, one major downfall would be the prices. It tends to be a little expensive for the amount of food that you get. In addition, they charge an additional $1.25 to substitute with egg whites which is typically free at other places we frequent. I have been going there for about three years now. Last time I went a week ago I got one piece of toast, the two smallest eggs I have ever seen and the bacon was even shorter and only two pieces and the coffee was terrible. I asked my server about the toast, she stated that they stopped serving two pieces because people were not eating it anymore, ask for fresh coffee and it was still burnt tasting. I will never go back. Went to First Watch this morning, 2 Very Large Eggs, Two thick pieces of Toast cut in Four pieces and yes Four 4 pieces of bacon. Same Price $9.99. Way overpriced for what you get. Had to wait a long time for a table, then had to wait a long time to order food, and you guessed it a long time to get our food. Everyone at our table left hungry which is frustrating for how much we paid. Would much rather go to The Broken Egg or Butterfields and get more food for the price and a lot faster service.
