Devilish eggs - caviar Roasted Bone Marrow with wild mushrooms

We stopped by Timber Room for a little après-ski evening for our group of 4. We were promptly seated and given multiple options for seating. We opted for a lounge seating on one of the available sofas. All the appetizers and cocktails we got were delicious! The Burning Passion and Timber Sour were fabulous! There are three options for the eggs, you can pick caviar and black truffle, pork belly or pappy van winkle roe. We all decided to go with shaved black truffle and caviar. The devilish eggs with caviar was delicious. We also shared the Roasted Bone Marrow, as seen on the picture it comes with quite a bit of food, perfect to share with a group. The marrow were very well prepared and perfectly paired with the wild mushrooms, lemon salad and toasted sourdough! We will definitely come back next time we are in Telluride.

Nice atmosphere. Great place for Apres ski. But I would rather head in to telluride for dinner if you could. You pay for being at a mountain village hotel restaurant. Really nothing to write home. Overpriced for its food quality in my opinion. Def asked when they said market price! I was shocked by its price for a 32oz ribeyes for its quality. I def had better same size dry aged bone in rib eye for cheaper at a nice steak restaurant.

Looking for a cocktail during happy hour, we tried the Timber Room of The Madeline Hotel. So happy we did! Max was our bartender and made our time their fun. I have to say I was very impressed with his knowledge of the various spirits, especially bourbon, tequila, and gin. The Timber Room has a great selection of spirits and wine - probably the best I saw in Telluride, Aspen, or Vail. Drinks were also very reasonably priced for a resort. My wife tried the Buffalo Trace Old Fashion which is created using a Japanese Drip Cold Brew contraption. Very cool and delicious! On Max's, recommendation we tried the boneless fried rabbit strips. It was cooked to perfection, tender, and juicy. However, if I had it to do over again, I would have them put the honey sauce on the side vs. over the rabbit. I think the sweetness took away from the flavor. Still good though and we appreciated Max's recommendation.

As soon as you enter, you feel like you're in the coziest, most elegant family room. Tables are lower and chairs are comfy and plush (booths and traditional tables also available). The server, Trish, was welcoming and friendly and gave us great descriptions of all the menu items. I don't eat meat and she suggested options that were beyond delicious! Try the tacos, the pickled onions were the best part. My bf had the elk loin and said it was superb. The spicy passion fruit margarita with the smoked orange slice was one of the best margs I've ever had. Trish let me sample 2 wines so I could make the best choice. Great atmosphere and out of this world food and service. Highly recommended!

Located in the beautiful Madeline Hotel in Mountain Village, the Timber Room feels like an extension of your living room. With different types of seating, and an a fireplace, open air atmosphere with large fire pits outside, this is a great restaurant to come share some apps, enjoy a custom cocktail and lounge in the welcoming ambiance. The menu is quite expensive, however. They encourage you to share dishes as they are quite large. We ordered the flatbread which was delicious, the "Madeline's" which were lightly fried and also very good, and the king crab dip. I would recommend all 3!

Fun restaurant! Wonderful cocktails and delicious dessert. Servers were attentive and bartender was kind and knowledgeable. Indoor and outdoor seating. Fun place to grab a drink or treat yourself to tasty treat! Or, stay for dinner. Memorable experience. Outdoor seating is simply amazing!

Came for drinks, stayed for dinner…read more We sat at the bar and saw so many things on the menu we wanted to try that we decided to stay and are glad we did. We got the oysters that come dressed with granita and an oil. They were east coast oysters and very good. I got the short rib & my husband got the pork chop. Almost everything on the menu was GF. Everything was delicious! The bartender told us the menu changes regularly, likely with the seasons. Although the bar was cool & comfortable the dining area was really nice too especially if you had a party of 4. Can't wait to go back & try new things!

Unfortunately, that's where the good news ends. And about that space -- a small but important caveat. While the interior designer clearly has an eye for aesthetics, they appear to have reserved a special kind of determination for the chairs. One can only imagine the lengths gone to in sourcing them -- as though someone scoured the entire earth with the singular mission of finding the most uninviting, uncomfortable seats ever assembled beneath a dining table. Plan accordingly, because you will not be lingering. Cramps will see to that. Frankly, you'd be better off in economy class on the airline formerly known as Spirit. At least there you know what you signed up for. Then there's the service. Our first waitress seemed to have arrived at work that evening as surprised as the rest of us that she was, in fact, employed by a restaurant. When asked a basic question about how a dish on the menu was prepared, she had no answer -- not a partial answer, not an "I'll find out," just the kind of blank look that makes you wonder if she'd read the menu herself. Mercifully, a second waiter stepped in, and while the competence upgrade was appreciated, he overcorrected in spectacular fashion. Checking in at the table every few minutes and pitching each dish with the desperate enthusiasm of a man selling cut-rate suits to a penguin, he replaced one problem with another. Attentive service and overbearing service are not the same thing. Then there's the menu itself -- a slim five entrees, which would be forgivable if those five were exceptional. They were not, and the kitchen had already run out of one by the time we ordered, narrowing the field further. The focaccia, offered as a promising start, tasted as though it had been made with the bare minimum of effort or care. The chicken entrée was rubbery and nearly devoid of seasoning -- an impressive feat given the unnecessarily long list of ingredients accompanying it on the menu. Somewhere beneath a well-managed, over-fussed skin was a piece of chicken that had simply given up. The dish would have benefited enormously from the philosophy that simplicity, done well, is always enough. It was not done well. Substitutions were flatly refused, which, paired with a limited menu and an already depleted selection, left little room to work with. The National has ambition behind it, and a beautiful room to show for it -- chairs notwithstanding. But ambition without execution is just decoration. Until the kitchen finds its footing, the front of house finds its balance, and someone reconsiders the seating, I won't be returning.

The inside of the restaurant is warm and cozy. The outside has beautiful fire pit seating. We sat inside. Our server Reka was professional and attentive. Very knowledgeable about the menu and what options were available. Her assistant, An, was so sweet and friendly. He always had a smile on his face and even offered to take our photo when I pulled out my phone. The table was beautifully appointed. Every item we ordered was delicious. We started with the Cheddar Biscuits- grilled benton's bacon, pimento cheese, pickled onion. Very tasty. I ordered the king trumpet pasta and added chicken. The chicken was tender and the pasta dish had good flavor. My husband ordered the salmon with Risotto. He orders salmon quite often and said this was one of the best salmon dishes he has ever eaten. Our friends ordered the shorts ribs as well as a salad and added chicken. Both really enjoyed their meals. I would say they could have done a better job with the martini. It wasn't very cold and not filled to the rim. The old fashions were okay as well. Overall we enjoyed dining here. It's beautiful and our service was excellent.

I called the restaurant about 5 days prior to my Rez and they were able to accommodate adding two to my party. An already great start to my experience without stepping foot into the restaurant. The exterior and interior of the building are way cute but holy cow did the food shine here. My friend and I shared the French onion soup, the steak tartare, and the filet mignon entree. Literally all 10s. I would say don't skip the soup or the filet. The soup was so rich with flavor and honestly might be the best rendition I've ever had. The filet had this amazingly rich sauce and it was paired with bites of lobster. I haven't stopped thinking about it. The steak tartare was also so good. I've never had it before so it's hard to compare but I really enjoyed it! Our server was attentive and so knowledgeable about the food and drinks. I think his name is Bruce but might be wrong about that. I would say snag a reservation if you can cause this place is not to be missed. A well deserved 5 stars!
