Here's what I can say about this day road trip, drove 2 hours only to find out it was closed... You know how you should trust yelp sometimes more than the actual location because it probably has more relevant information. Long story short plus a rant at the end. Short version, checked website and google maps say they close at 5pm Saturday, subject to change. "Please check in with the Concierge upon arrival to receive more information about the gardens." Yeah, we didn't do that, because nothing on the visit page of website said they would close at 2pm that day. WELP they closed at 1PM... We stumbled around for like 10 minutes looking for any staff. Found one that let finally let us know they closed at 1PM. That's the short version. As a CS person, I took a deeper look at their website to find out what I could've done make sure this didn't happen again and here's what I found. 1) You go the landing page, all good. You click "visit", so good so far. You looks at gardens and there's a "click here" (Honestly should've ended here, I should've be able to see what's today's hours of operations were) 1.A It states this: "Please check our online garden calendar for current hours of operation click here" which leads you to ... the contact page... So on this contact page you will see: "Garden Hours: Our gardens are open Thursday - Sunday, 9:00AM - 5:00PM. Please check in with the Concierge upon arrival to receive more information about the gardens." In my mind, i'm like ok, I get there by 2PM and we're still golden. 1.B) You may be ask yourself, where's this garden calendar 1) speaks of. 2) Well if you click the "Gardens" menu option on the top, you will be presented with the gardens page. And there will you find this statement "Please call ahead or check our online calendar for best times to visit." Clicking "Online Calendar" you can see that as far as the months that I clicked ahead, the estate closes at 2PM on the days it's open. It makes you wonder, doesn't it make a whole lot more sense to just change the hours of operation on all the pages to say 1PM or 2PM closed. It's not that 5PM is the normal. It's 5PM that's the edge case here. 3) Or click the "calendar" menu option. Not really nice design on phone, a scroll google calendar element inside a scrollable page, hate these... bad responsive design. Here's the takeaway from the UX. 1) visit page, "click here" link under gardens paragraph should lead you to the calendar page, not the contact page. 2) Should update the hours open to public to show 1PM, even google showed I was still good to go visit and google would usually warn you if it's closing soon by the time you reach the destination. 3) If you really want to make 5PM the closing time, how hard is it to pseudo code this, Put it in gardens and calendar page and add a new table element under the default hours of operation and call it today's hours of operation if(gardens has events) document.getElementById(today).innerHTML = "OPEN - Today we are open till 1:00 PM" else document.getElementById(today).innerHTML = "OPEN - Today we are open till 5:00 PM" 4) Add calendar to site map. I even drafted what it could look like on the calendar page attached as an image. Yeah would've loved to see the gardens, but sadly turned away because bad web design and lack thereof any signage at the entrance that could've stated closed for private event... read more

Came here for my Birthday lunch. Lovely setting and attentive staff. I had the Cobb Salad which was huge. They have a lovely Veranda to have an outside lunch on. It was a little cool that day, and they have heaters. First time having Beignets. Interesting that they are listed on the Menu under : Appetizers. There were 4, so the 3 of us shared. It a great dessert. It is right off Mission in Fallbrook. The grounds are so pretty, and I felt like I was in the Mid West. read more

I came across Grand Tradition Estates while exploring on yelp for other botanical gardens in the area. Wow! I was blown away. It is truly stunning -- everything is so well-taken care of and green! Fountains and multiple waterfalls. A romantic gazebo overlooking the lake. Lizards and birds were happily foraging and basking in the sun. A dream for any nature/plant lovers and those who love peaceful, waterfront views. No wonder they host weddings here. Definitely a hidden gem in Fallbrook. I recommend comfortable shoes and a hat, though there is plenty of shade and benches to sit, throughout. Give yourself -at least- one full hour to spend here, but you could easily spend 2-3, especially if you have reservations and make a stop for lunch at their restaurant inside the mansion. Pictures do not do it justice. There is a lot to explore. You'll have to see this magical place for yourself. You can read more about their COVID/visiting policies on their website. Masks/face required to get in. Everyone including staff was wearing theirs indoors and in shared public areas. Most people who removed them in the gardens, while greatly distanced outside, put them back on when within 15ft or so, if quickly passing by others. I felt safe being here and everything (including the beautifully designed bathrooms!) was so clean. It is very spacious and was not at all crowded when I went during the week, mid afternoon. read more

Was our first time here and we had a wonderful experience. We had a reservation and seated within a few minutes of arrival. Service was friendly and attentive. The view was amazing. Food was good and reasonably priced. After brunch we walked around the gardens and sat by the lake. We will definitely be back! read more

These people have the worst business savvy. What a disappointment. This place smelled so bad. I'm glad I'll never have a wedding here.

If you want overpriced bad buffet this is your spot. The eggs Benedict were so over cooked the yolks were hard and you couldn't cut through the brick of an English muffin with a knife. They only staff one bartender so if you want a soda or a beer be ready to stand in line for fifteen minutes. The grounds are nice and the staff are friendly but this place sucks as a restaurant. read more

Love love love this hidden gem if you can experience it definitely put it on your list of things to do! It's priced great and it's so gorgeous! This magical garden, grounds and gorgeous event venue/restaurant is the epitome of a hidden gem! The boyfriend and I were randomly driving around looking at gardens and garden stores in North - East County, and this one popped up on Yelp. We remembered that out local Fallbrook friends had mentioned going there once so we decided to check it out. It's glorious! Lush and green, multiple waterfalls, a pond, a large fountain - really stunning. The Beverly mansion has a white porch that wraps around and gorgeous decor throughout. You can get inside with reservations at the Veranda restaurant for brunch - and if you call ahead, they'll even create a romantic picnic basket for you that you can take out into the grounds and enjoy you lunch al fresco! Had lunch there on the Veranda - it was perfect weather to enjoy a meal outside. The view is so pretty and it the food is very good. I love that they garnish the meals with edible flowers - I never knew mums and certain daisies were edible. Our waitress was sweet and very accommodating + knowledgeable. I had the Rueben and the homemade chips. It was delicious. I wish they did have hot deli mustard to go with it though. Their homemade lemonade is also very tasty - I normally don't like lemonade - its either too sweet or too tart - but theirs is just right. We had all the desserts and passed our plates around the table to sample them! Afterward, my Aunt surprised us by not only picking up the tab but also she paid for us to tour the gardens. I could see this being a really nice location for a wedding, but if you're looking to get the picnic basket and go eat somewhere in the gardens, I'd pass. the food is seriously airplane quality, maybe it's better at the restaurant but the picnic food was super disappointing. the grounds are nice to walk around, but it's also much smaller than it looks on the map. Don't prioritize this over hitting one more winery. read more

We are getting married at this venue in July and it is AMAZING! We had our food tasting last night and it was phenominal! The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. I expected way more from this "upscale" wedding venue. Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful location with stunning views. I planned a pre-ordered & pre-paid surprise picnic basket for my wife & I, (we were celebrating our one year anniversary). I was extremely disappointed... I had a 10:30am reservation, as we entered the waiting area, we were greeted by the hostess. She was friendly & asked us to sit while they did the final touches to our picnic basket. We sat for 30 minutes, no water was offered, no one came to us to let us know what was going on. I finally had to go up & ask the hostess. Her response was, "their working on it". Ummm, working on what? I had reservations! Long story short, they brought out the wrong items I ordered for my basket, the gentleman argued with me about it. I had him go back & check, sure enough, I was right! We get to our location on the grass, look in our basket & notice no condiments, no forks, our ice had melted & they were missing one of our desserts... I was super bummed. What a beauty... in the middle of no where! I saw a deal on Groupon and over heard co-workers talking about how beautiful this place was so I gave it a try and brought my out of town family here one day. It was a bit cold since it had rained that weekend but we enjoyed our stroll through the grounds anyway. It's not as big as I thought so it only took us about an hour, walking leisurely and stopping to take pictures. They do have a restaurant that's very cute but we didn't eat there this time. I think it would be amazing if they allowed you to pack a picnic to enjoy on the grounds. We didn't see many workers but the couple that we encountered were very nice. read more

Wow my husband and I went to see Mindi Abair at the Grand Traditions and it was an incredibly awesome time. The place is beautiful, all open lush gardens you stroll through, the wine is plentiful and they have jazz bands playing in 5 different locations around the property until the headliner plays. It was the best concert I ever went to. Plus the food is delicious. Worth every cent. read more

Not just for weddings... This is our go-to place whenever we have guests in town that we want to impress with a nice lunch/brunch. It's so peaceful sitting outside on the veranda overlooking the lake and the food is very tasty and beautifully presented. Afterwards for a small fee ($2/person I think) you can walk through the gardens which have several waterfalls (man made but nicely done). If you don't want to walk the gardens then at least walk around the lake and gazebo. This was a great place to bring my in-laws from Northern Cal and then my girlfriend from LA (who wants to come back with her mom). If you want a nice, relaxing lunch in a beautiful setting with great food, this is it! Make sure you make reservations though as The Veranda (the name of the restaurant) books up. Open 11a-2p during the week and 8a-1p on the weekends but the gardens are open until 5p I think (but may close early if there is a wedding going on so call ahead). read more

The Gardens are beautiful and so is the building. They are so nice to offer this for the Fallbrook Beautifcation on July 4th. Since Fallbrook has no place to review the "4th of July Celebration" here is where I must review. We have come every year from the beginning and it has always gotten better until this year. I have a severe meat and poultry allergy and the only vegan option is pasta within over spill of the meat. Also have dehydration problems and the water is half size of normal. The band stand has been moved from lake front to VIP area only. Sorry you decided to make everything noninvasive and unfriendly this year Fallbrook Beautification. We have raved about you from the start, but now you have become like everywhere else, uninviting and no friends in site. read more
