I'll start off by saying the ambiance of this place is on point. Super cute and modern. Unfortunately I can't say the same for the service or food... it was super busy so I can understand the slow service and taking a while for the food, but the food that's the problem... i ordered a blt with egg.. my egg I asked to be runny in the middle but cooked well so she the waitress suggested over medium.. the first time the sandwich came it was seeping with mayo like no joke mayo on the plate all over the sandwich dripping out.. ok I know it comes with mayo but ummmm that's a lot.. I asked the waitress if that's how it's supposed to look and she said she wasn't sure but she will send it back bc it did look like a lot to her too. It came after my hubby finished his food, and it was no longer warm, the bread was cold you can tell they didn't properly toast it, the egg was cooked all the way through like a boiled egg and the fries were cold.. I don't want to assume they used the same ones from the same sandwich but very possible. Soooo disappointing and when the waitress finally came back when we were all done and asked me if it was better I replied not really the egg was over cooked the fries were cold and the sandwich was cold she replied next time just order the mayo on the side. Hubby had the steak and eggs he asked for his egg the same as mine but got a super runny like clear runny egg, and the pancakes were a bit dry but I ate with syrup and it was fine. This is our third time here second time having brunch but this was just so disappointing idk if I would eat here again. read more

First let me say the service was phenomenal. Rico was very tentative to our needs and was very professional. 5 stars for him. I had the blueberry pancakes with a side of beef bacon and the quality and presentation of my meal was out of this world. Also such a cute little place for a date. Insane overpriced menu, dirty restaurant Yuk and Food is terrible. I came to the place on so many recommendations, unfortunately I was not satisfied at all. When we got our food it smelt horrible like multiple foods being cooked all together , the eggs looked very unappetizing and my breakfast burritos had a metal taste as if they don't clean where the foods being made , not to mention the cups for our water had a disgusting smell as well . The waiter took forever to come back with anything we asked for . My 2 year old even said the food wasn't good , that's not okay!!!! Never coming back to this place again, super disappointed.... Oh and take a look at the floors , absolutely insane how dirty the floors are . For a restaurant with so much foot traffic and for them to have so much business they should be on top of being sanitary and getting professionals to clean the black flooring ...... I've tried TGC many more times since my first experience. My family and I really enjoy the food. The coffee is great too. We usually get the Iced Chai Tea Latte. The steak and eggs is fantastic too. The waitstaff is usually very friendly. The wait times can be long if going on certain days but if you make a reservation in advance, you should be fine! read more

It's a hit or a miss for the food. Also service is continuously slow. I've been here 3 times, the food was good the first time, but slow service. The second time, the food itself wasn't available in the morning but their pastries and bakery were open. We opted for those and coffee, each item received (bagels, cream cheese, hazelnut chocolate croissant, and a chocolate eclair) was subpar for the price. I really wanted to love this place. I came here on like a Tuesday or Wednesday morning like 9am to work & have breakfast. I really enjoy their coffee & I did enjoy my breakfast. It was the service that really has pushed me away. The manager really has an attitude problem that needs to be addressed before more customers are lost. I sat by a table that had an outlet because I was on my laptop, I had ordered breakfast and coffee. I finished my breakfast and more people were walking in, but again I came with the intent to stay a couple of hours & get some work done. I told the manager that if you have a table with an outlet I would be willing to move since some people might want to sit here if it gets busy. Again, I approached her with this politely before anything was said. I said if there's an outlet elsewhere, I would be happy to move. Anyways, a few moments later she comes by and tells me "you have to move from this table we have people who want to have breakfast here". At this point, I haven't even been here 2 hours. Maybe an hour or 1.5. Like I said, I was also a breakfast paying customer. Despite the fact that she said it very rudely, I asked are there outlets there at the booths. She responded with "I don't know the booths are intended for "you guys"... while walking away. Well, this was a weekday morning & it wasn't outrageously busy. People could have sat elsewhere, there was enough seats to accommodate. Other tables were open & on-top of all that, this entire interaction occurred when I was clearly on a meeting. In the middle of my meeting, visibly speaking. I will say, if the situation had been approached differently & she was helpful in finding me a seat, I would have had no issues considering I offered initially. Considering that this enter interaction occurred with her walking away after each sentence before I could even speak made things much worse. Ultimately, she took advantage of me trying to help. I did explain this to my waiter before I left & he was actually shocked by that interaction & he apologized on her behalf. As manager, definitely don't think your staff needs to apologize for your incompetencies. I understand they're trying to divide the restaurant to offer breakfast & cafe style seating, but this should not be a strict policy that doesn't need to apply during certain days of the week. If tables are clearly available, manager should be able to make a judgment call rather than kick people off of tables. Maybe this applies only to weekends or peak hours. Anyways, I can find a bunch of local businesses with better services that will not kick me out of my seat. I was not the first one to experience this as stated in some other reviews. Anywho, I moved to the other table, received my bill & left within a matter of 5 minutes. I have not returned since & do not intend to. Big disappointment for a beautiful place serving good food. They also have no vegan options aside from milk alternatives, but nothing on the breakfast menu. read more

We did not wait long for our table. The service was ok; nothing unique or outstanding. The restaurant was bustling and short-staffed because attention to detail was absent. First off, I am shocked by the 3 1/2 star rating this place is averaging on yelp, because my husband and I absolutely loved it! I have seen a lot of buzz about this place on Instagram and so we decided to check it out for weekend brunch. This is a beautiful space with lots of seating as well as a lounge area or you can work or hang out. There is also a bakery. The ambience is amazing! We had made reservations online but were about 15 minutes late and we learned that they had given away our table 10 minutes after the reservation time so we opted for bar seating. The servers and barista at the bar were absolutely incredible and attentive, but they could use more staff help. I ended up getting shakshuka and my husband got steak and eggs- we both loved our food! The chimmichurri sauce in the steak and eggs was to die for! I also ended up getting an iced lavender latte, which was very refreshing. I I look forward to being back here with friends and family! read more

I visited the great commoner twice in the last month. Both times, I had the shrimp and grits. The first time, I tried a side of pancakes. The second time, I had a side of waffles. Sadly, I was not impressed with the waffles or pancakes. They look pretty, but there was NOTHING special about them, although the waffles were better than the pancakes, but I give them both a D or C-. When arrived was told it would be an hour for the table and since we had time we agreed to be put on the wait list (they took my phone number and I received a confirmation text message. While waiting couple of chairs opened up at the bar area, so we took those. While seated server behind the bar walked past us numerous times without acknowledging us and after watching her for a while ignoring us, I decided to wave her down. She took our order. Coffee was good, but breakfast fell short - cold eggs and bread overdone/burnt. We asked for a check after again numerous attempts to wave her down. Took approximately another 15 minutes to get my card back and the actual check. BTW - I never received the text saying our table was ready. We arrived on a Sunday morning for brunch without reservations. Was told that it would be 1/2 hour wait and they took our phone number to text us when table was ready. After 45 min we walked back in to check on the wait time and was told that people were coming in for their reservations and that it would be another hour to hour and a half. Did they expect that people would not show up when they told us a half hour? We said ok and did not remove our name from the list - but moved on and went to another restaurant. We never received a text that a table was available for us - never! It is understandable if an establishment is too busy to turn you away - but to give a time of 1/2 hour then to never even have a table or communicate back and leave you hanging is just poor management.
