Zero STARS... This place is a complete scam. I ordered a birthday cake and even paid extra for faster shipping, and it still showed up three days late. By the time it arrived, the celebration was already over, so that was a waste. The cake itself was honestly embarrassing. It came damaged and smeared. On top of that, the packaging didn't look sanitary. It was wrapped in cheap cellophane like it came out of someone's basement kitchen, not a professional bakery. I reached out about a refund and got nothing. No response, no follow-up, nothing. Apparently once they have your money, customer service disappears. At this point, I guess I'll just go ahead and dispute it with my bank since that seems like the only way I'll ever see my money again. Iverson Cookies/The Great Cookie has been a DC area staple for decades. It's been a while since I've been here, but it felt like a review is long overdue. So I took it upon myself to stop by & get some cookies for myself and my parents before I departed for IL a few weeks ago. The ever so popular cookie flavor there is the prized Snickerdoodle cookies. So, of course, I took it upon myself to order a few. I ordered about 8 cookies for $5 or $10 (apparently, they do not allow ordering by the half dozen nor dozen, but by the eights. Such as 8, 16, etc ). I was a bit judgy & hesitant because the cookies were almost razor thin, and I was used to thicker, regular sized cookies. But as soon as I took a bite, I was shook haha they were so moist, soft, and delightful. Crunchy exterior but the right amount of crunch that it doesn't take away from the softness/moisture. The right amount of sugar and cinnamon. I think what makes this different from other Snickerdoodle cookies is perhaps the thinness and (I THINK, I could be wrong) the possible shortening base. They were so good, I decided not to be selfish and go back in to order my parents some to try I will say since it's been a while since I've been to Iverson Cookies, I got a bit lost because I could not find an entrance point (I'll be honest: I forgot haha ). The entrance point is between Mama Lucia and Chipotle. If you have bad eye vision like me, you'll have to walk up closer to notice. On Yelp and the physical establishment, it's listed as "The Great Cookie." On Google Maps, it's listed as Iverson Cookies. There's plenty of parking. The best way to get there is to drive or Uber. WARNING! DO NOT ORDER COOKIES FROM THIS BUSINESS!! I ordered a photo cookie cake for my daughter's Sweet 16 birthday. It arrived damaged and smeared, and I contacted the business immediately. I was hoping to get another one delivered by the time her birthday came. No response. Contacted again the following day, again no response. I have contacted them five times and the business is ghosting me. I ended up having to purchase a cake from somewhere else so that she would have a birthday cake. The business never offered to replace the cake or refund my money. Just no response at all. Took my $70 and ran. It's despicable to me that it's acceptable to run a business this way. read more

Normally a trusted staple, but we were disappointed at our last visit. The quality of the Snickerdoodle was not there. It was VERY thin and not the normal cookie texture or look. Missing the mix of crisp edges and chewy center. The taste wasn't 100% either. Please go back to your original cookie taste and texture. The Great cookie is the perfect name for this cookie company. This is not by any chance my first time trying these cookies. I found them last year at the Prince George's Mall at a little kiosk. This kiosk has great walnut and chocolate chip, but the snicker doodles needed more love. So the joinery began. Someone that worked at the Prince George's mall told me the best snicker doodles are at the IVERSON Mall. She said only walk in and walk out. Don't linger. So my mission has been for a year to stop though the IVERSON Mall and grab some cookies. Now every time I'm in the area I get close, but there's always some interesting looking characters coming in and out so I've tried the Bojangles outside the mall once or twice, but never ventured into the mall. I finally made it in and found out why! The mall isn't much to look at, but the cookies are right there inside the door. The cookies were being made fresh and they tasted great. The woman at the counter taking my money didn't understand English which was a little off putting, but I speak a little Spanglish so I spoke my peace. I got snickerdoodle, Chocolate chip, and my favorite chocolate chip with walnuts. All of them were great, but the snickerdoodles were the bet they had come out of the oven while I stood in line. read more

They always come out fresh because the demand is so high. Not that big, but the taste makes up for it. Yesterday I got 2 $30.00 boxes as you can see in the pictures . They also have $20.00, $40.00 boxes .. $10.00 bags, random cup sizes or you can just order by the pound. The other type of cookies are good to. But not GREAT. Just trust the monster & order the snicker doodles. Located inside the mall, but it's right by the entrance as soon as you enter. Mite be a line, but they move like Chick-fil-a lines. Discrimination!!! On Saturday August 19, 2023, myself, my sister, niece and my son were patrons at this cookie shop. We bought and paid for our cookies like everything else we'd shopped for inside the mall. Out of nowhere we were accused by management of stealing cookies. Apparently, the manager thought he saw my sister on camera passing the cookies back on camera. This could have been further from the truth. After mall security got involved, we were vindicated, and management refused to apologize to us. Even after reviewing the footage several times and saw that no crime was committed. I was appalled by the accusation from this foreigner that I or my sister would attempt to steal anything especially in front of our black children. I will never patron this cookie shop or this mall ever again!!! I highly discourage anyone from investing in a business that could treat paying customers with such disrespect! Whenever I am in town, I make my way to The Great Cookie for about a pound of the sugary goodness they dish out in the form of their infamous snickerdoodle cookie. There's no better cookie in the world. I love cookies and I've been around the proverbial cookie block if you will. All other cookie spots pale in comparison. Now, it's true that the location leaves much to be desired. Patrons of Iverson Mall are often asked if they value their lives. The cookies are good enough to get caught up in a drive-by and not even be mad about it. This particular visit was special because I placed an online order that I was nervous about. Given how ratchet it is, I was worried my order wouldn't arrive on time because it had special delivery instructions for a party. I ordered a week in advance and my order arrived on time. Guests were elated and I was the life of said party because I'm amazing enough to order snickerdoodles from The Great Cookie for this event. I will always recommend this bakery and all its wizardry because there is clearly a fairy godmother in the back with the hand of God on her feet as she places them into that batter. The snickerdoodles are good however the older asian lady has the worst customer service EVER. They do have the boxes but she wouldnt explain how the boxes work. I ask for a pound and she just pointed at these boxes like I work there and was supposed to figure it out on my own. Asked again and this time it was accompanied by a rude face as well. I ordered a cookie cake from them a week ago, to be delivered on the 28th of March, for my birthday on the 29th. The options they provide are 2 day priority shipping or 1 day priority shipping, presumably in order to keep the product fresh. USPS failed to deliver by the promised date even though tracking shows that The Great Cookie shipped it quite early on the the day they were supposed to (the 26th). I received it on the 30th, late for my birthday. Disappointing, right? Well, I emailed The Great Cookie to ask for a refund on the shipping cost itself (after all, the 2-day shipping wasn't honored. Not TGC's fault but who else am I going to ask?), and in just 15 minutes they responded and provided the shipping refund, way sooner than they could've gotten such a refund from USPS in turn. Not only that, but the cookie cake kept incredibly well. Even though it was in transit 2 days longer than anticipated, it tasted exactly like I remember from my childhood. I do not come to Iverson Mall to shop. I ONLY come here for this amazing cookie shop. So I decided to treat myself to something sweet and I had a craving for snickerdoodle cookies so of course the first place that comes to mind is "The Great Cookie" inside Iverson Mall in Temple Hills, Maryland. This place is by far the best place to get a variety of cookies (all very good which I have tried), although location is in a sketchy neighborhood. They also sale ICEE's, different flavor lemonade and bottle juice and soda drinks. I highly recommend this place for the snickerdoodle cookies and if you're passing by and want something sweet on your way home. Beware you might eat them all before you get home. I ordered a custom cookie to be delivered on my boyfriend's last day of work. Ordered on 7/22 to be delivered on 7/28. I gave very specific delivery details since this is a school. They charged me $20 for shipping with a total of $54.68 for a cookie. They charged my account and NEVER DELIVERED THE COOKIE. Still waiting for my money to be refunded and overall a really big disappointment on what was supposed to be a big celebration for my loved one. I'm not a cookie person. I just moved to MD and wanted to find out what the mall had to offer. Passed by this vendor and for some reason the SNICKERDOODLES just looked GOOD so I went home and I could not get the vision of these cookies off my mind. So two weeks from then i had to get batteries put into my watches at King's Jewelery he put in 6 watch batteries in 5 MINS and he is very reasonable he has my business; and I strolled on around the corner and got 2 snickerdoodles just in case they were nasty I would not be out of alot of money.
