One word: SNOOZEFEST. Thank goodness my friends and I know…read morehow to make our own fun because this place was not giving what it was supposed to give. The restaurant has a huge bar right in the middle, loud music playing, and even an outdoor patio and bar area. However, neither space seemed to have much energy or many people. The vibe just felt...flat. I will say the music did improve as the night went on. Initially, the playlist wasn't really my cup of tea, but once they started mixing in some 90s and 2000s R&B and Hip-Hop, things got a lot better. That's when my friends and I started dancing in our seats, singing along, and creating our own entertainment while other patrons stared at us like we had landed from another planet. Sorry y'all, some of us came to have a good time. Now, I will give credit where credit is due. The service was really good. The staff was attentive, friendly, and kept checking on us throughout the evening. The decor wasn't bad either. It leaned heavily into the Mexican Day of the Dead theme, which I actually liked. The restaurant had personality and the design was much more interesting than the atmosphere. Even the restrooms were nice, although they felt like they were located in another zip code. Be prepared for a little walk. Now let's discuss the food...or maybe let's not. We ordered chips, salsa, guacamole, and chicken nachos. The guacamole was the clear winner and the only thing I genuinely enjoyed. The salsa tasted off and wasn't for me at all. As for the nachos? Absolutely not. Nasty. I don't know what happened there, but they were a complete miss for me. The funny part is that Diablo's wasn't even our first choice. We had just come from a 90s party and were a little underdressed for where we originally wanted to go. That spot had a stricter dress code, so we settled for Diablo's instead. Would I return? Probably not. Even if I'm already at MGM, there are several other spots I'd choose first for better food, better energy, and a better overall experience. The service and decor were solid, but they couldn't save the food or the vibe. Ratings: Vibe: 2/5 Decor: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Music: 3/5 Food: 1/5 Total Score: 3.0/5

To say this was some of the best Mexican cuisine we had experienced would be an understatement. Everything from the decor to the ambience to the service to the food. Every aspect of our dining experience was exquisitely represented & executed. One of my favorite parts of our dining experience was the music playing. The majority was Spanish language.& when it was not Spanish language, the artists were of Latino/a heritage I love dining at culturally specific restaurants & having them embrace they embrace the entirety of the culture. Needless, Diablo Cantina has now been added to my Top Favorites list. So if you happen to be in the area, I definitely recommend giving them a try.

My friend chose Don Taco because it's one of his favorite spots, and he kept raving about how great the tacos were. And because really, you can't go wrong with chips, salsa, and drinks for a quick happy hour. The salsa which is not pictured had a great smoky kick, the tacos were very flavorful, fresh and hot. The host and waitress were very sweet, kind and attentive. The atmosphere was pretty cool, nothing to complain about. A lot of space, we sat upstairs which I enjoyed. We had the entire upstairs area to ourselves, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The restaurant was clean, and I loved the mini fans placed throughout the space--perfect if you're feeling a little too warm or have enjoyed a few drinks! As for the service, it was a bit hit-or-miss. The young lady who took our orders was pleasant, but it took quite a while for drinks to come out. There were also several missing items from people's orders, which caused some frustration since those items had been ordered well in advance. Now, onto the food--the real star of the experience! Everyone in our group enjoyed their meals and had great things to say. I ordered a salmon taco, which I actually saved and ate the next day for lunch, and it was still delicious. The queso, however, wasn't a favorite among our group. On the other hand, the chips and salsa were a hit. The mocktails were excellent, and everyone seemed to enjoy their cocktails as well. Despite a few service hiccups, the food, drinks, and atmosphere made for a great experience. I would definitely visit again.

We arrived at 4:03 p.m. and left by 4:46 p.m. Our plan was to relax at the bar, enjoy happy hour margaritas, have appetizers, then dinner while watching the soccer match--a leisurely vacation evening. The hospitality, unfortunately, was lacking. Although our bartender wasn't rude, she seemed to be in a constant rush to get us to order, despite the restaurant being relatively quiet with only a few tables occupied. We even mentioned that we were hoping to enjoy a slow, relaxing evening, but we still felt hurried throughout our visit. The happy hour margaritas were very lime-forward with very little tequila. We switched to a regular menu margarita ("The Perfect"), but even that tasted weaker than expected. As tequila fans, we were disappointed. We also found the food to be far from authentic Tex-Mex. Having lived in San Antonio, I realize that's a high standard, but this didn't come close to what we expected. In the end, we asked for our food to go and left. We found another restaurant where we could relax and enjoy the kind of hospitality we had been looking for. I don't enjoy leaving critical reviews, but this was a disappointing experience, and unfortunately, I can't recommend it.

We went here because I was craving carne asada tacos. We ordered few birria tacos, chicken tinga tacos, and carne asada. The birria tacos were great and had a lot of meat. The consommé was also great. I also liked the chicken tinga tacos. However, their carne asada tacos were extremely salty and weirdly cooked that they were rubbery. Between the meat being hard to chew and being too salty, I couldn't enjoy the carne asada at all. I asked the server before ordering if the birria tacos or the carne asada was better and he unbothered-ly said both are good. We also got a Pina colada to share since we wanted to eat our calories than drink. But this upset the server and he was also upset that we weren't ordering more drinks. The service felt a little off due to his cold attitude. We do plan to come in the future but hope we are treated better and not judged for not drinking crazy amounts of alcohol at dinner.

We decided to check out Taqueria Xochi after hearing about their new soft-serve margaritas. Unfortunately, we learned that they're currently only available at the Navy Yard location. While that was a bit disappointing, it definitely didn't stop us from having a great time. The space is on the smaller side as others have mentioned but it's still a fantastic neighborhood spot with a fun atmosphere. What really made our visit memorable was Liliana. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made our experience 10 times better. Not only was she super sweet, but she was also crafting margaritas to perfection all evening. During "Xochi Hour" we tried several margaritas, including the Classic, Hibiscus, and Strawberry Morita. Every single one was delicious, well-balanced and expertly made. For food, we ordered the chips and salsa, along with the Tinga and Al Pastor tacos (two tacos per order). Everything paired perfectly with the drinks and hit the spot for happy hour. If you're in Arlington and looking for a great happy hour destination, Taqueria Xochi is absolutely worth a visit. And when you stop by, be sure to ask for Liliana she'll take great care of you!
