I want to thank the entire staff for an amazing meal! I went there from out of state with family, it was both a reunion and a memorial and they definitely catered to us and our needs! I have celiac and they kept me safe! The service was fantastic, I wish I could remember our servers name but he was a professional (from one to another) he did a fantastic job and really took care of my Grandma!! We went to the green room on vacation and it was lovely. They were short staffed and you could tell, but the wait for the food was worth it! The wine list was great as well! And , very affordable! The charcuterie board was awesome. There were lots of different sauces and I loved the touch of the bread crumb. Do wish it had come with a grilled bread.or at least a cracker. The fillet was cooked perfectly! The pave of potatoes was crispy on the bottom and the broccolini was excellently seasoned. I did wish I had one more ounce on that fillet as it did feel a bit small. The ravioli were very flavorful. The sauce may have been broken, but it was buttery and flavorful so we were not unhappy. We loved the ambiance. It was cozy and romantic as well as fun with the band upstairs. We decided to go up and watch the show afterwards. The service was warm and well educated. Ran into the chef later in the evening and turned out two of the three person kitchen had called out that evening. He did a great job still. Kudos and keep on cooking like this!! read more

What a wonderful discovery! We had an amazing meal here today, couldn't recommend this restaurant more highly. Came with my wife & my mother on a little getaway to Florence. It's a fun location in the basement underneath the playhouse, feels like a a speakeasy. I had the sous vide filet mignon, & it was the best steak I've had in years. The presentation was beautiful, the steak was tender and perfect. Truly an elevated meal. Everyone else loved their meals as well. My wife and I swung into the Waterfront Depot for dinner tonight but there was an hour wait. I suggested The Greenroom as an option, which I had read about several months ago and was intrigued. Sunday dinner is often a mixed bag when eating out, so I had moderate expectations. But we settled in and ordered the Seasonal Salad and soup, along with a glass of Bordeaux and Pinot Noir. My wife ordered the Braised Rabbit Pappardelle and I ordered Braised Short Ribs as mains. My wife and I have a long history of sharing meals--28 years of history. I'm trying to remember the last time she refused to share. She absolutely loved the Pappardelle, and my braised ribs were incredible. Other places in town may have the view or the buzz, but no one compares if you're looking for a truly exquisite dining experience. Like one of the other reviewers, if I only had the dishes to go on, I would think I were in a large city enjoying an incredible meal. All the better than I'm in Florence and don't have to deal with crowds or pretentious environs. Well done Chef Wiley! You and your staff won over a couple new fans tonight. read more

Service, as expected of a restautant of this caliber, was perfect. Andrew was attentive, polite, humorous and knowledgeable about the food and restaurant. The Ambiance was, to us, romantic, subtle, and beautiful. There is some din as one reviewer posted but less than the noise level of other restaurants...it did not affect our experience at all. The rabbit and duck selections were just outstanding in both presentation and delectability. We choose scallops as our appetizer and oh my. Perfect! We chose a Ponzi pinot grigio as our wine and we're very happy with it. All in all...A+++ in every aspect. The manager, Gayle was spot on attentive, warm, and genuine. She is a very knowledgeable and delightful woman and added much to the overall experience. Their executive chef, Ben, certainly knows his stuff. We made a point to stop and compliment him and his sous chef Matt. The pastry chef Sean, made an incredible Panna Cotta with caramel & candied hazelnuts for dessert. I forgot my name for a bit! Wow....it was delicious. It was also enjoyable seeing them do their magic in the semi open kitchen. Next time, we are going to sit at the bar and have some fun there and try some fancy drinks We are retired flights attendants for Pan Am and were lucky enough to travel the world and experience a wonderful assortment of great foods over 35 years. We can't say that we ever enjoyed anything better than this in all those years of travel. We'll be back for sure. The Green Room is a tremendous positive addition to the other fine restaurants here in Florence. You should go. The Green Room entry door (black painted at the bottom of a narrow stairwell) accounts for the references to a speakeasy atmosphere. Other than the entry, the ambience is more neon and concrete than fedoras and trench-coats. We had a great meal on a very quiet weeknight, and plan on going back the next time* we're in Florence. The chef delivered on the web copy promising "food made exquisitely, elegantly". Our plates were architectural marvels, presenting reasonable portions in towers above delectable sauces**. The artful presentation was a minor problem when eating the salad, as it was hard to pull a leaf of lettuce out of the tower without splashing the dressing. I managed to saw my perfectly done carrots into bite-sized pieces without sending anything sliding, but it was a near thing. *We might each have a piece of bread with us next time. **The sauces really begged for something with which to mop them up, but there was nothing to be had, no bread, no dinner rolls. read more

This was our first time eating at the Green Room in Florence with family. We were delighted with the atmosphere in a historic theatre. The service was very attentive, the food presentation was beautifully served. The menu is unique and I rank the combination of vegetables intermixed with the side of the main dishes as the most flavorful I've tasted. Odd place. Knives are not included in table setting, one has to ask for knives to brought to the table. The staff is annoyed by it but, according to them, the owner insists. Small water glasses get only half filled and no water carafe is left on the table. It seems the owner(s) have a weird sense of elegance. Food was OK for the price, not special. For example, there was nothing seasonal about the seasonal salad. it was a head of lettuce with paper thin beats slices and a few microscopic pieces of the "confit duck". The wife and I visited The Green Room for the first time and experienced our best dining experience since moving to Florence four years ago. Five stars for the cuisine, service and ambience. We started with the Seared Scallop appetizer. Our waitress suggested we split it and would serve us two scallops each vs the usual three per order. Nice call. The scallops were served on a lobster bisque sauce. Very nice. For entrees my wife had the Sous Vide Filet Mignon with roasted garlic potato croquettes, fried leeks, candied seasonal mushrooms and wilted spinach. Perfect medium rare. This dish was a home run in my book. Loved the potato croquettes! Crunchy in the outside, soft within. As a lover of perfectly cooked rabbit (I had faith it would be!) I got the Braised Rabbit Pappardelle! The rabbit was perfectly braised and paired well with the al dente pasta. Another home run! Our only disappointment came when our waitress informed us that the Tiramisu hadn't set in time for service. We ordered the Panna Cotta with seasonal berries. It was delicious. The wine list had a good variety of domestic and imported wines. They have a full bar which would be nice to enjoy an appetizer or two with a cocktail. We were surprised that, for a Saturday night it wasn't that busy. I know it's the off season but this restaurant is head and shoulders above any when it comes to a fine dining experience at reasonable prices. read more

My hubby and I happened in without a reservation, and luckily got a table. The vibe is so neat being downstairs, kind of feels like you are part of an underground speakeasy. Rocky was so wonderful. All I can say is Oh my God! This was my third visit to The Greenroom but won't be my last. Each and every time my meal Was outstanding! This last time I had the special fish dish and was not disappointed. The sauces on my plate were not only DELICIOUS but a work of art. It truly is a feast for the senses. My friend had the filet mignon and I got To taste a bit of it. It simply melted in my mouth, and the morels were so good they made my eyes roll! Can't leave a review without talking about the cocktails. I had the Seaglass and my friend had the Coastal Kiss. Both were amazing. Our waiter, Rocky was attentive but not overly so. The ambience is upscale and moody but in a really good way. The whole experience was wonderful. My hat off to the chef who truly deserves that title. A must visit. read more

We had reservations at 5:00 for a party of four. It was pretty quiet our friends wanted an early dinner. I started out thinking we had made a poor decision as they did not have a fish selection , they were out of rabbit and were substituting quail, they couldn't make a simple mojito because they didn't have mint. We decided to overlook this and I am glad we did. We had one of the most memorable meals in a long time. Sous vide filet , amazing! Osso buco, also amazing. The soup was out of this world delicious and the plating was gorgeous. The lamb was cooked perfectly, tasty and tender, and the sides were imaginative and equally as good. I already posted a review and it wasn't published for some reason. Maybe because I have a different view than the rest of the reviews. I am going to just summarize: I have been to enough upscale restaurants to know what's good or at least what I like. My biggest complaint is that there were almost no starches on the menu. No potatoes, no rice, etc. i'm not a big meat eater so that part is important. Instead, cauliflower purée, beet purée, sunchoke purée: seriously? Puréed soup too. We were the only people in the place, and yet we were seated on an aisle next to a pillar and the bar, which had no ginger ale for my cocktail. I recoiled at the sight of rabbit on the menu. These things might make it great for some people but not me. read more

We came up for the weekend to get out of the heat and have a nice dinner. I had read some excellent reviews of the Green Room and wanted to try it. We were seated quickly and given menus and water. The wine list is small but has some excellent choices. We shared a mushroom Tortelli pasta dish for a starter and all had beef tenderloin for dinner. We walked in on a Sunday evening and had a seat at the bar with Cameron. He dropped a Paper Plane and a Sea Grass on us; after a flight to Eugene and a drive across 126, they were simply divine. Chef Ben's sea scallops were excellent with the leeks, but the salad with strawberry vinaigrette was a revelation: duck with several variations of beets, and candied almonds with just the right touch of spice. Glad to have discovered this gem the last time we were in Florence. We made reservations and were not disappointed by the atmosphere, menu or service. We were pleasantly greeted and seated promptly. The menu is very creative so it was hard to make a decision - and a good excuse to return! We started by splitting the grilled scallop appetizer - a visual and culinary work of art! My husband chose the rabbit on pappardelle and I couldn't resist the short rib with garlic-horseradish polenta - both perfectly cooked with paired accompaniments, although the pickled onion seemed out of place with my short rib as the kale was the perfect foil for the dish's richness. The rabbit was without reproach, flavorful and well-seasoned. An Oregon pinot noir was an appropriate pairing for both meals. We were looking forward to a shared plate of tiramisu, but it wasn't available so we finished up with the watermelon and strawberry sorbets.
