My cousins kept talking about their fried pork so we decided to stop by. For the longest time, we never knew this place existed until a month ago where the other cousin brought some of their food for a family party. Came here on a random weekend night. There wasn't much of a crowd but there were a lot of people doing take out. There's plenty of parking outside and inside was nice and simple and clean. We got seated right away and were given water and were asked if we wanted tea, which we ordered. Nothing to write home about. I think this was one of those times where I didn't take a photo of the food. I was either super hungry or super distracted. But we ordered so many dishes and really the star of the show here are their fried dishes - fried pork, fried shrimp, fried chicken wings and fried fish. It was something about their batter that's so airy and light and not oily at all. It was also just enough flavor that you're starting to question how did they make it so so good. It was life changing to me that I have requested to visited this place anytime I'm in town. It was just so delicious! The hot and sour soup was excellent because it actually had a lot of wood ear mushrooms, tofu, bamboo shoots and egg. It had the right about of tart and a little bit of spice. We also ordered some wonton soup that was filled with so much vegetables and so many wontons. The wontons were plump and good flavor. We also ordered some green beans and those were still fresh and green, with a crunch. We also ordered some green beans with chicken. The chicken was nice and soft and the green beans were crunchy, it was a great balance of textures. The flavor was excellent and you can either eat it by itself or eat it with rice. There were a couple more dishes but I forgot what they were. In addition, we were all hungry and we didn't get to take a photo of the food. Will definitely come back here again and again. Stopped in Wednesday to have lunch. Ordered Mongolian Beef off the Special Luncheon menu. I immediately noticed that the price had been reduced...YAY! Meal comes with cup of soup, choice of entree, choice of chow mein or fried rice and egg role. Staff was very attentive but not annoying. I took half of the meal home to eat for dinner as there was so much. Really love this place...been coming here since they first opened. If I drove I would go more often. Always drove by this spot and had been wanting to try it for a while, so I finally did and I'm glad I went! I was honestly surprised by how fresh everything tasted. Hubby and I were craving for Chinese food and we always see Frannie's as it's right across the street from us. We decided to stop by there to grab some food after grocery shopping, as it is right before we hit home. From the outside it doesn't look much, but the inside was quite nice and big. We came in and looked at their menu to see what we wanted to order. The staff member was kind and didn't rush us as we took our time to decide. We ordered quite a few things so that we were able to have leftovers. We ordered salt & pepper spareribs, honey walnut prawns, beef & broccoli, orange chicken, hot & spicy tofu (with meat), bbq pork fried rice and chicken chow mein. They told us it'll be a bit of wait, so we decided to head home to put away groceries while we wait for the food. After about 20 minutes, we walked over to pick it up. Everything was delicious! We ordered To Go, and I can honestly say the food was pretty good, we had a order of combo fried rice and of chow mein, orange chicken, honey walnut shrimp, chicken with broccoli, and some other items, -- they're portions for take out come in those styrofoam to go boxes which is a lot of food, and great for larger families. My family is pretty picky on the type of noodles (we like the thicker noodles) that are used in chow mein and I can say they approved of these. read more

We always order to go though but the one time they had a problem with their computer they called me right away to make sure may order was right and ready for when I got there to pick it up. The food is good esp the honey walnut shrimp. The service for wait of food is good as well. The only reason for this 1 STAR is for the way they charged us when we received the bill. PLEASE CHECK YOUR BILL when you receive it. We received the bill and subtotal was $744.62 to where the tip would be charged from that total but they added the tax which was $80.05 and added their tip from $824.67. Tip was $148.44. Total to pay was $973.11. No, we did not pay that and had them correct it. The server told us that is how it is in their system so everyone is gettin jipped here. There's a sign near the entrance that states to step outside after placing order and they'll call us to pick up. Stood outside for 20 minutes, and at one point before this time, went inside to use their restroom. Even made eye contact with the 2 servers when I entered and exited outside again, waiting to be called... The egg foo young was really tasty the veggies inside were on the bigger side but that allowed for a nice texture each bite. The Salt & pepper fish was fresh & crisp and had a good peppery flavor. The service was great they were very attentive asking if we wanted refills often, they even gave us a free order of chicken. I finally went here to check out the food after all these years. Apparently they changed owners and prices have gone up which is to be expected after the pandemic and rising costs. What brought me in was seeing a picture of their beef chow fun and positive words and big portions given by reviewers. So I walk in to order and wanted to pick a second dish as well. I asked the Asian guy who took our order what he thought of the salt and pepper ribs. He looked confused so I asked again. Same reaction and he asked his fellow Asian lady worker to come over. I ask her the same question and she gave a generic yeah as in everything good response and seemed annoyed. Anyways, I order that plus the beef chow fun. When the food was ready for carry out, I was waved over and she was more pleasant in her goodbye so I let it all slide. So my anticipation was pretty high and finally we'll get to see if any good at home. Portions were regular and not huge in my opinion. Maybe better at the restaurant. I take a bite of the chow fun and was instantly disappointed. Lacking in flavor and mediocre at best. Not enough beef as well. Score C- and never again. Salt pepper spare ribs had ok flavor but was soft. Score B- or so. I really hoped they'd be good, but unfortunately was left wanting much more. There were folks in there dining that were non Asian at the time. Perhaps I picked the wrong dishes, but I will never return. If you're looking for authentic delicious chinese food, I cannot recommend based on what we ordered. Back to Hong Kong Cafe we go! Used to frequent this place when I worked nearby. Used to dine in with all it's condiments available. With Covid, items don't seem to be very flavorful. Ordered four items: chicken chow mein, beef chow fun, fried chicken wings, ans hawaiian bbq combo. None of ths dishes seem to have a flavor, not even some salt. I first time I ate at Frannie's I thought the food was good. The second time I ordered food to-go and the food was less than par. I thought maybe it might have been a different chef or just a bad day. I ordered food to go again hoping it would be better but it wasn't. I ordered chow mein and chow fun and ended up with two orders of greasy noodles with very little meat. I actually threw it in the garbage, it was that bad.
