My cousins kept talking about their fried pork so we decided to stop by. For the longest time, we never knew this place existed until a month ago where the other cousin brought some of their food for a family party. Came here on a random weekend night. There wasn't much of a crowd but there were a lot of people doing take out. There's plenty of parking outside and inside was nice and simple and clean. We got seated right away and were given water and were asked if we wanted tea, which we ordered. Nothing to write home about. I think this was one of those times where I didn't take a photo of the food. I was either super hungry or super distracted. But we ordered so many dishes and really the star of the show here are their fried dishes - fried pork, fried shrimp, fried chicken wings and fried fish. It was something about their batter that's so airy and light and not oily at all. It was also just enough flavor that you're starting to question how did they make it so so good. It was life changing to me that I have requested to visited this place anytime I'm in town. It was just so delicious! The hot and sour soup was excellent because it actually had a lot of wood ear mushrooms, tofu, bamboo shoots and egg. It had the right about of tart and a little bit of spice. We also ordered some wonton soup that was filled with so much vegetables and so many wontons. The wontons were plump and good flavor. We also ordered some green beans and those were still fresh and green, with a crunch. We also ordered some green beans with chicken. The chicken was nice and soft and the green beans were crunchy, it was a great balance of textures. The flavor was excellent and you can either eat it by itself or eat it with rice. There were a couple more dishes but I forgot what they were. In addition, we were all hungry and we didn't get to take a photo of the food. Will definitely come back here again and again. It's just too good - the fried pork and fish and shrimp and chicken. Can't want to go back! So so good! read more

Always drove by this spot and had been wanting to try it for a while, so I finally did and I'm glad I went! I was honestly surprised by how fresh everything tasted. We got the vegetable fried rice, chicken chow mein, egg flower soup, chicken katsu, and crab rangoons. Everything was delicious! The flavors were great and nothing felt overly greasy or heavy. DO NOT EAT HERE Ordered food for takeout. Drove from San Jose and back home. While eating and feeding my kids I found a cockroach in the plate. It was so disgusting that I ran to the bathroom and starting vomiting NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN!!!! read more

Hubby and I were craving for Chinese food and we always see Frannie's as it's right across the street from us. We decided to stop by there to grab some food after grocery shopping, as it is right before we hit home. From the outside it doesn't look much, but the inside was quite nice and big. We came in and looked at their menu to see what we wanted to order. The staff member was kind and didn't rush us as we took our time to decide. We ordered quite a few things so that we were able to have leftovers. We ordered salt & pepper spareribs, honey walnut prawns, beef & broccoli, orange chicken, hot & spicy tofu (with meat), bbq pork fried rice and chicken chow mein. They told us it'll be a bit of wait, so we decided to head home to put away groceries while we wait for the food. After about 20 minutes, we walked over to pick it up. Everything was delicious! I taught myself--"if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all" BUT this is YELP & really my civic duty. A friend & I were hungry and wanted to grab a bite--Chinese food in particular. We Yelped & should've paid more attention to the orange stars!!! Anyhow, we ordered egg rolls, chow fun, & BBQ fried rice. The eggrolls were nothing to write home about, the chow fun noodles were stuck together & absolutely flavorless with fatty/gristly meat & the BBQ fried rice was just as bland. IF I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE 0 STARS I WOULD. I went with my family after picking them up from the airport on july 31 2025. I ordered a chicken katsu and found a LIVE COCKROACH in the sweet and sour sauce. After telling the waiter they were very nasty and rude about the whole situation. She then told us she'll "bring out another sauce" and that "sometimes this happens bc they're running around in the back".... but "the SAUCE doesn't have any IN the bottle.. "Disgusting. Delicious food that is made to order with huge portions. Be aware that you might want to share! I have been here a few times including for the lunch specials, and the food was always amazing and the portions are more than enough for 1 person. This is a family-friendly, fast-service, and inexpensive restaurant. My kids loved it and my husband is a fan. I definitely recommend Frannies for anyone wanting a good family meal or even a quick order pick up. read more

We ordered To Go, and I can honestly say the food was pretty good, we had a order of combo fried rice and of chow mein, orange chicken, honey walnut shrimp, chicken with broccoli, and some other items, -- they're portions for take out come in those styrofoam to go boxes which is a lot of food, and great for larger families. My family is pretty picky on the type of noodles (we like the thicker noodles) that are used in chow mein and I can say they approved of these. read more

Food: 4 star - it's a bit more salty but taste deserves a solid 4 star Service: 1 star - honestly, if this was simply take out would have been just fine but I will not consider dining in Ambiance: 1 star - if I could give it a ZERO ... Service is good every time. We always order to go though but the one time they had a problem with their computer they called me right away to make sure may order was right and ready for when I got there to pick it up. The food never fails, it's nothing fancy but very tasty and the portions are very generous. My husband and I order 2 or 3 dishes and always have enough for 2 meals! read more

Haven't been here in awhile. Came to visit co-worker and decided to bring him lunch. I ordered my usual curry chicken. The flavor is still the same -- consistent. Picked up an order of salt and pepper spareribs, walnut shrimp, combination fried rice, string beans and beef and had the service been any better, this review would have been a solid 4 stars. There's a sign near the entrance that states to step outside after placing order and they'll call us to pick up. Stood outside for 20 minutes, and at one point before this time, went inside to use their restroom. Even made eye contact with the 2 servers when I entered and exited outside again, waiting to be called... Before stepping outside I noticed a bagged order but neither servers said anything to me as I passed them heading outside. I decided to go back in and ask if this was mine, and it was! read more

The food is good esp the honey walnut shrimp. The service for wait of food is good as well. The only reason for this 1 STAR is for the way they charged us when we received the bill. PLEASE CHECK YOUR BILL when you receive it. We received the bill and subtotal was $744.62 to where the tip would be charged from that total but they added the tax which was $80.05 and added their tip from $824.67. Tip was $148.44. Total to pay was $973.11. No, we did not pay that and had them correct it. The server told us that is how it is in their system so everyone is gettin jipped here. Will not return although they do have good food. They need to fix that and charge customers honest price. So, PLEASE check your receipts before you pay. Good day everyone. read more

Her menu prices are OLD !!! Been going to FRANNIE'S from when she opened and now her prices are so insane and food tastes different ,must have a new cook. The BBQ pork fry rice price is crazy when I last ordered from there in desperation because my fav restaurant THE JOY HOUSE closed so I'm on the hunt for a good Chinese food restaurant this I know will take a long time ... Was born n raised in Honolulu, Hi so I know good Chinese food when I taste it and I loved FRANNIE'S when she first opened but as time moved on it got worst then better so ... I went back to Frannies based on my friend's recommendation of their WAR WON TON SOUP. Having this in other restaurants was fine but here it was a WOW so I'll cal it the Wow War Wonton Soup! Order the large and that's enough for 4 people. You can delete or add the protein you prefer: shrimp, pork, beef or all of them together. This was definitely a secret and now it is the BEST soup I've had so far!.....P. S. get the dried string beans as a side dish and you won't be disappointed. read more

This food was very enjoyable and came out piping hot. The string beans had a mild spice to them and tasted very fresh. The egg foo young was really tasty the veggies inside were on the bigger side but that allowed for a nice texture each bite. The Salt & pepper fish was fresh & crisp and had a good peppery flavor. The service was great they were very attentive asking if we wanted refills often, they even gave us a free order of chicken. I usually have to mix my McD's sweet tea down with half unsweetened tea so I did that with my tea at Cane's and found it much less sweeter than I thought. Gonna go for full sweet tea next time.

I recently visited this Chinese restaurant with my family and we were blown away by the delicious food we had. The honey walnut shrimp was a standout dish - the sauce was the perfect balance of sweet and savory and the shrimp was cooked to perfection. The short ribs were also amazing - tender and flavorful. And the fried rice was the perfect side to complete the meal. The staff was extremely welcoming and friendly from the moment we walked in. This place has great food, service, and prices! There's a lot of character and the pricing is great for the huge portions. Not only do they have Chinese food, but Hawaiian BBQ too. Place is good. All food reasonably priced and you get really big portions. i like that coz i have a lot of leftovers every time LOL. It took 15 mins for us to get our food but the food tasted great so was worth the wait totally. Nice friendly staff too. Always courteous. read more
