Avoid this location and go to the Piedmont location instead. I used to go to the Piedmont location multiple times a week and honestly would still go out of my way to go there to this day because of the amazing service. Johnny Bravo and the rest of the staff there always made customers feel welcomed, appreciated, and taken care of. I've even met up with friends there just because the atmosphere and service were that good. Maybe it's because the owners are always present at the Piedmont location, but the difference between these two locations is night and day. After moving, the East Fourteen location became the closest to me, so I expected the same level of customer service. Unfortunately, I've had the complete opposite experience every single time I've gone there. The girl who opened on May 16, 2026 was once again rude, cold, and hostile for absolutely no reason. She never greets me, never says hello, never asks how she can help me. I always have to speak first because she acts bothered the second I walk in. That is some of the worst customer service I've experienced anywhere. I tipped the first time, but after consistently bad service, I stopped. The food used to make the trip worth it, even though this location always seems noticeably saltier, but dealing with salty attitudes on top of salty food is enough for me to never come back. To make things worse, I always order the exact same thing, and today they still managed to leave items out of my order and didn't give me everything I paid for. This employee seriously needs customer service training and needs to learn the bare minimum of acknowledging and respecting customers. Customers are the reason employees have jobs in the first place. I kept seeing the advertisements for the food truck, but found out they actually have a small restaurant in San leandro. We drove 45 minutes just to come here and see what the talk was about. I ordered the trio (filet mignon, shrimp, lobster) with garlic noodles. It was a 30-35 minute wait to get the food, so you definitely know it was cooked fresh. And OMG!!!!! It was worth the wait! The meat was tender and grilled perfectly, and the garlic noodles was noodling : ) The noodles had so much garlic and parmesan on them, that it helped blend the other flavors together perfectly. I personally prefer picking up from the restaurant. Calling in to place an order results into a declined call and the restaurant requesting for your order via text message, which I don't mind but can definitely see it being an issue for non tech savvy folks. I was told it would be a 25 minute wait. Filet Mignon, Shrimp & Chicken Trio Plate -- 4/5. $37+tax, comes with 3 proteins, veggies, a super generous amount of rice, a drink and a side of their secret sauce. The ratio of rice/protein&veggies is a bit off but I still enjoyed my plate. The plate is cooked with a lot of garlic butter so can be on the greasier side. I dip my protein and veggies in the secret sauce to achieve the perfect bite along with rice. I want to say I arrived about 20 mins after placing my order and my order was ready. The restaurant wasn't busy at all and I noticed after coming multiple times that people don't usually dine in, but much rather order to go. 3.5 stars; this is a review for their new restaurant that opened in March in San Leandro, not for their food truck. My husband and I got this for lunch a couple of weeks ago; we live really close, so he just walked over and placed the order inside and waited for it to be made. There are a ton of meat and fish options to choose from here: New York steak, filet mignon, chicken, shrimp, lobster, salmon, and scallops. You can either choose an entree plate, which is one meat served with rice, veggies, and a drink, or a combo, which is a combination of two different meats or fish plus the rice, veggies, and a drink. There are also a lot of different combo options. Burritos are on the menu too, along with a bunch of sides; you can order meat or fish on the side, too. We each got one of the entree plates and I went with the New York Steak Plate. After reading a number of reviews for their food truck that said they often overcook meat, I asked for my steak to be cooked medium rare in case they overcooked it. I'd be alright with the meat being medium so long as it was juicy. Sure enough, they overcooked the meat and it wasn't medium rare, but medium. Come hungry at this place and, unless you're a really big eater, expect to be taking some food home with you. These plates are stuffed with food (mostly fried rice) and heavy; I was surprised by the heft when we took them out of the bag. Despite not being cooked as I requested, the meat was very good. It was tender and juicy and had a nice grilled flavor. The Yummy Sauce they serve on the side was good too and was nice to dip the meat in or pour over the meat and rice. In all honesty, it reminds me of a more liquidy secret/special sauce for burgers but that's a compliment, not a bad thing, because secret/special sauce is delicious. The fried rice, however, was a big miss and a big disappointment for me. I was really looking forward to it but it was way too salty. I very rarely complain about anything being too salty, even when other people are complaining about the salt levels of something we're all eating together, but someone hit the salt too hard in the kitchen on this batch of rice. The veggies were fine, kind of forgettable, but they also aren't exactly meant to be the star of the meal either. My husband got a Hibachi Burrito, and while it was pretty huge, it was also a little dry. They give you Yummy Sauce on the side, but meat and rice in a burrito with no other condiments isn't the best combination. Yummy Yummy Hibachi is on the pricier side. The New York Steak Plate is $25 (the only cheaper option is the Chicken Plate for $20), with the more expensive plates in the $33-43 range. On the flip side, you're getting a lot of food for the money; I got two meals out of my plate. Side orders of meat or fish range from $12-20, depending on which one you order. In general, I ended the meal with mixed feelings about this place. Getting a ton of food for your money is refreshing in a place like the Bay Area where we're all increasingly getting less for our money, food included. So I appreciate how generous they are with the portions. But at the same time, the food was just ok and the plate was mostly rice. I wouldn't be opposed to trying this place again, especially since the San Leandro location just started serving garlic noodles which you can only get there at the restaurant. But I'd be going back with some reservations. Give them a try and see for yourself what you think. read more

I never mind waiting for GOOD food but also, I wouldn't want to hear my wait time is 30 minutes then I show up 45 minutes later (15 minutes late) and still have to wait an additional 30 minutes .. Orders shouldn't take over an hour to be ready and if they do, customers should be quoted that wait time so their not outside for 30-45 minutes extra waiting especially for the price of the food here. The rice has a weird taste compared to what I remember, so weird and off that it was bad enough for me to not want to return and I frequent this spot often. The meat also lacks flavor now, before they seasoned it very well and it was worth the $45+ a plate but now, it's like chewing on bland cubes. Same goes for the lobster. The flavors were rich and perfectly balanced, and the garlic rice was simply to die for--hands down one of the best I've ever had. I have been a regular to the Yummy truck in Oakland and have never been disappointed. The standard wait there is 30 minutes and do not mind the wait. I tried the San Leandro location on Valentine's Day for takeout and was told a 50 minute wait which I expected but I arrived 20 minutes late to my pickup time and was told it would be another 20 minutes after I paid. The lobby was full of frustrated hungry people. I saw 3 couples plain out just walk out after told the wait time. I ate the food in the parking lot the meat was over seasoned truly disappointed. The Ms orders the salmon and shrimp combo. Was told the wait would be 20-25 mins. So order ahead if you want to avoid the wait. You can hear them back there putting in work. Our order was called, we grabbed our food paid for some more yum yum sauce and garlic butter. Make sure you get some more of that. You won't be disappointed. We got to the house and it was on. I must say, they know exactly what they are doing. The rice was flavored nicely, the steak, the shrimp and chicken were all flavored perfectly. I poured some of the yum yum sauce and garlic butter over everything and just boosted the flavor to another level. All in all this will be a favorite hibachi spot of mines. Check this place out asap. I am leaving this review because I have been coming to yummy yummy for years. Since the hibachi truck in Oakland. I want yall to go back to being great like I remember. I've been to this location twice now. The first time was a lot better than today. I paid $43 for the trio steak shrimp & chicken plate, my receipt on the bag says the same as well. My drive was long so I didn't go back, nor check the order when I picked it up. Yall forgot the shrimp! And the pieces of chicken and steak are cut sooo much bigger than they used to be.
