    Peking pork chop
    Juicke C.

I had high hopes for food here. My food was delivered through DoorDash. It was delivered within scheduled time. My order included honey walnut prawn lunch; and Peking pork chop. The portion was generous. In both dishes the taste fell. The honey walnut prawn looked appealing but it lack the honey mayo taste and walnut wasn't sweet. The Peking pork chop, like the honey walnut prawn, looked appealing but it lacked the sweet and tangy flavor.

Price is affordable. Updated menu has much more option. Party tray available. I ordered sizzling rice soup, general chicken, black pepper beef. Also Hawaiian plate. I order BBQ mix plate and chicken katsu and fish combo plate. The Hawaiian menu is same but price might differ.

Foods are good. People are nice too. I like how they will make the foods for you even the ones you want are not on the menu.

The staff told her we wouldn't be seated unless our entire party was present. About 4 people were late, but they still seated us. The restaurant kind of felt old and somewhat dirty. But hey, it was my dad's birthday. I wasn't paying for lunch. We occupied three tables and ordered from both the lunch and dim sum menus. I enjoyed dishes like shiu mai, pork buns, walnut shrimp, fried rice, fish, and fried noodles. The sesame balls were tasty, but the service was slow, and I had to follow up on our order. I didn't care for the bun with the hot dog or the other noodle dish. Later that day, my daughter mentioned she had found hair in a pork bun and that her cousin had eaten it. She also said every item he picked up had hair on it, which was disappointing. I didn't confirm this with my cousin, but it would have been helpful to have someone inform the staff. Fortunately, no one at our table found hair in their food, which was a relief. Overall, the food that I ate was fine, but I wouldn't make a special trip from San Jose to visit again...unless it's a fambam family treat.

However, my family had a GREAT experience and liked the food! The staff are SO friendly and attentive (so many water refills--I loved it) and even let us eat our cake there. The food tasted like any other authentic Chinese restaurant (Chinese grandma approved). We ordered the sizzling rice soup, dry-fried string beans, garlic eggplant, garlic chicken, mao pao tofu, gindo piguot (not sure how to spell it in English), and crispy seafood noodles. Their gindo piguot (sweet and sour short rib I think) really stood out and we ended up ordering 2 of them. I didn't love their mao pao tofu (still tasted good, but didn't taste like the typical mao pao tofu). Overall, not sure why they have a low rating and would consider coming back if I'm in the area!

FAMILY EVENTS When I…read morego to eat at Chef's Experience China most of the time the occasion is for family gatherings. The year 2024 was the prime example. In February I ate for reception after a family friend's funeral. In June relatives and friends ate here after my nephew's high school graduation. Later that year in September I came here to celebrate my dad's birthday. There's something about this place that attracts family gatherings. Is it the food? The food here tasty and filling. Could it be the ambiance? The Chef's Experience China Bistro is a small restaurant. There are three dining areas. There is one at the side that is used for a banquet, which is the same space that was used for my dad's birthday party. In the middle there is a general dining area. At the back is a small section that could be used for a party - the same area that was used for my nephew's high school graduation celebration. I think what makes this place attractive is the bar when you enter the restaurant. How's the food? I like the stuffed eggplant, which is similar to eggplant parmesan. What I like about the orange chicken is the sauce is served on the side preserving the crispy breading. The sautéed vegetables aren't oily. Even though the menu doesn't seem overwhelming with items there are variety of items served at Chef's Experience China Bistro that you don't see at other Chinese restaurants. Since I mentioned about the bar I've order beverage such as Old Fashioned, Mint Julep, and Shirley Temple. I can't explain it but there is something about the vibe at Chef's Experience China Bistro that makes this restaurant a popular place to celebrate with the family.

He joked a lot and made us feel very welcomed. We haven't been back here in years. From what I remember, it was because the portion sizes didn't match the prices. Things have changed for the better. Our plates were full and everything we ordered came out hot, fresh and delicious. Shrimp and crab fried spring rolls - we were told this was their signature dish and is the most popular. We would order this every time we come back. Seafood fried rice had a good amount of mixed seafood and NO PEAS! Yaaaaay! Lol Sweet and sour chicken - surprisingly, this is the dish that stood out the most. The chicken tasted fresh and was juicy. In a lot of other places the chicken is more solid and dry. Not this dish. This one was very good!

Asia delight is a humble "point point" combo based Chinese food place. Think authentic Panda Express. Super affordable place where you can get a 2 item combo with chow mein/fried rice for $12.49. My go to is Chow mein, Chinese pork bbq, and the black pepper beef. This location appears to be the only one that carries the Chinese pork bbq. On the side my wife and I split either the salt n pepper fish or chicken wings. A medium gets you about 6-8 pieces of chicken wings. Super solid and they don't skimp on the amount on anything. So the value is there! Low key is enough to spread out into two meals. Staff is direct and efficient. Quick with packing up your items and moving it to the cashiers for you to pay out. They have about 4-6 tables inside with chairs/slide in bench's. Basically a quick spot to grab food and eat or take it to go.

Prepared foods are on a steam table or under hot lights. You pick a meal combo, and they serve it onto foam trays. Then they suggestive sell add-on's and drinks. The formula for success is simple: - tasty food, big portions, and affordable prices. People rave about this place on social media, so I have to come check it out. So it's Friday around dinner time. I'm cruising on Hesperian Blvd in the right lane. I pass the Valero station and realize.....this is where Asia Delight is! They have a dining area with 4-6 small square tables. But the tables looked dirty, and the whole place looked untidy. But the steam table counter looked beautiful. It was loaded with hot food and each tray seemed to be full. Two ladies and one young man were serving. The young man did a good job taking and serving orders. I decide to get the Combo B for $9.45. - fried rice/ chow mein + 2 entrees I got fried rice, black bean spare ribs, chicken w/ string beans in gravy. How was it? No flavor! I don't use the word "bland" very often. Geez, I didn't know there was a shortage of soy sauce, sesame oil and salt & pepper. Maybe chili oil will help. Would I come back? No thanks

I take all of my pictures with my phone, but I generally write my reviews on my laptop where I have a full keyboard to work with. The first two visits, my wife went in while I waited outside with the dog. This time, I was travelling solo. I had been out and about and decided to pick up some grub for dinner. Our first visit, we got some Chicken Wings and absolutely loved them. Our second visit, we got more Chicken Wings, but we couldn't remember which ones we had gotten the first time. We didn't enjoy them quite the same at the first time. To resolved the issue, this time I ordered two different types of Chicken Wings. Did we solve the problem? Maybe? Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings (4) - While the wings were excellent, we felt that overall, the dish was too salty. Deep Fried Chicken Wings (5) - Once again, excellent wings. Without the add-on Salt, Peppers and Garlic, these were more to our liking, though some Garlic would have been nice. Fish Fillet with Black Bean Sauce - (5) - I grew up eating fresh fish from live tanks in Chinese Restaurants. They were either cooked with Black Bean Sauce or Ginger & Scallion. Post COVID, many restaurants have done away with their live tanks. Frozen fillets will never taste or feel like freshly dispatched fish, but these were pretty decent. Assorted Seafood Chow Fun (5) - Fish, Calamari and Shrimp. Used to be a time where you could expect a scallop or two, but those days are mostly gone. While this restaurant used to have dine-in service, it appears to be take-out only now. Service was relatively fast and efficient. The food is solid. We'll definitely be back.

The gentleman working inside was so kind!! When my boyfriend went to go pick up our order, he was in the middle of cleaning and gladly handed over our order. The place inside looked so cozy and sweet, we'll have to dine in next time! The food was absolutely delicious! Nothing tasted greasy, salty, and there were so many veggies included with each dish! The food tasted fresh, smelled amazing and left us super satisfied! The salt and pepper prawns were my favorite! They're doused in garlic, jalapeños and red peppers!! Sooo delicious! The prawns tasted fresh with no fishy taste whatsoever!! I might have just found the best Chinese spot in town! I'm so happy we came and tried their food. 10/10

It captures that authentic cha kaan teng vibe without needing to drive across the Bay. The Chicken Chow Fun here hits the spot. The rice noodles have great texture--tender with just enough chew--and they get a proper sear in the wok for that subtle smokiness (wok hei). The chicken slices are well-marinated and smooth, and the bean sprouts provide a fresh crunch that balances out the dish nicely. It's generous, comforting, and not overly greasy compared to many other local takeout options. To wash it down, their Hong Kong Milk Tea delivers on authenticity. It is strong, smooth, and brewed with that distinct, bold black tea base balanced out by sweet evaporated milk. Ordering it iced keeps the flavor rich without watering down as you drink it. The only reason it knocks off one star is that service can be a bit slow during peak dinner hours, and the dining space gets tight quickly. But for quality, everyday comfort food and a classic Hong Kong tea fix in the neighborhood, Garden Cafe is consistently a great choice.
