We were looking for somewhere easy to stop off at for dinner. The Grill is the first restaurant in town. So glad we went no further. The menu has a lot of variety and the food was delicious. We got veggie burger, pesto pasta and calm chowder. Good size portions. And even better the service was excellent! Definitely going to be our dinner spot when we are in Lone Pine. read more

Local place in a touristy town.....I ordered the Turkey Melt with a side of potato salad.....both well prepared and delicious. He ordered the Cajun Chicken sandwich with onion rings, again both delicious...I would probably order those onion rings again if I were here! read more

Great host and wait staff! Friendly and very attentive. Good selection of bottled beer served with chilled glasses. Great! The Grill Club and Turkey Melt were delicious. Lots of fresh turkey. We suggest going with one of their homemade sides (potato salad, coleslaw, etc). The fries were hot but not a specialty of theirs. A lot of Lone Pine restaurant reviews qualify their statements by saying something like "It's Lone Pine after all..." but this restaurant would hold its own in any city. read more

Best dining experience in lone pine for sure. We have eaten here multiple times and the food is always good. Today our server Bobby was funny and charming. I had the BBQ chicken salad without the sauce. I had ranch instead. Delish. My hubs had a burger. Bobby suggested the sundae for dessert and it was tasty. The Grill is one of about 8 or 9 eateries in this small town that is populated by a couple thousand residents. I ate here a 2nd time, apparently, because my wife recalled having a good breakfast at The Grill when we ventured into this corner of California, last winter. On this occasion, she had the spaghetti and I ordered a turkey melt (avocado, cheese and bacon). As it is the only good turkey melt I can recall having in my life, the operators of this eatery must be doing something right (I only ordered it b/c I had a hamburger the night before at a restaurant, down the street, that I would not have given a favorable rating). To the credit of the waiting staff, the glass of iced tea that I ordered was repeatedly filled. That is no small thing on a day where the outside temperature was approaching triple digits. When I return to Lone Pine, I'm sure I'll eat here again based upon the food I've been served and the behavior of the pleasant wait staff. read more

Excellent food!!! We got the "New York Steak Flambee." It's a steak crusted in black pepper and covered with cream sauce. Also the pork chops with rosemary butter sauce!! Both came with mashed potatoes and ample amounts of their delicious sauces. My mouth is watering as I write this review!! We got ours as take out. They wrapped up everything very nicely. We are staying in Lone Pine for the night and this restaurant was recommended by a friend. The service was wonderful - our waitress was super friendly and fun! There were four of us, each ordering a different item, and they were all delicious. The cherry pie for dessert was a bonus! Stop by here often when I am in Lone Pine or heading to Death Valley. Usually breakfast and often dinner. Good, basic menu. Tasty food. Excellent service. Had the pork chops with mashed potatoes this visit. A little too much gravy for my tastes but more to mix with the potatoes so not really a bad thing. :) Veggies were a mix for squashes. Probably reheated frozen packaged veggies by the looks of them. Not the best. The chops were cooked just right and the sauce yummy. Potatoes creamy and plentiful. Wonderful restaurant! The owners are very personable and care about you, not just your order. Food was great! They were almost closed when I called to see if they could still serve us. The said they would be happy to. We did arrive earlier than expected and we're seated a little ways from other diners, perhaps in case we were there after they closed, but received the same attention as others in the restaurant. I will definitely stop here again should we be traveling in the area again. read more

The server was super nice. My husband and I shared a Bison burger with a side of salad. We originally ordered the burger with a side of fries but the server forgot the fries and accidentally gave us salad but it looked so good that we decided to take it. But he came back later and gave us the fries anyway and didn't charge us for it which was nice. We were glad that we came to eat at this place, the food was delicious, we will come back for sure. read more

Stopped by on the way home from Mt Whitney and wow. We were amazed by the service from the moment we walked up to the moment we left it was exceptional. We had a big party so we got to order a variety of items. For sure loved the tuna melt and the jalapeño burger the most. Oh and the onion rings were probably the best I've ever had. So crispy and fresh every time we ordered a side order. 10/10 recommend. read more

The garlic chicken breast dinner was phenomenal. The vegetable medley was exceptionally tasty and out of the ordinary. The rosemary pork chop dinner was wonderful. The sauce was truly gourmet. Way exceeded our expectations! Most of the time sleepy lil towns you drive through on the way to somewhere else are not known for good food quality. The Grill blew us away! We are staying here in Lone Pine tonight at the Iconic Dow Villa Motel . I used Yelp to help me find some place to get dinner. I found The Grill and thought it had a good menu . Called to order a take out meal. I ordered the Rib Eye steak . After placing my order with Bobby and telling him where I was staying . He offered to deliver it to my motel room . After traveling all day ,not having to go out again was wonderful . Excellent service and a really great steak . read more

Stopped here for dinner. Pea soup started dinner, a bit salty. Main entrees were salmon with sides of mashed potatoes (very generous servings) and green beans as the veggies.  Enjoyed the meal.  Left with our bellies sufficiently full.  Courteous service. read more

The Grill... what a delightful place. Bobby was fantastic and made our visit so special. Not only was the food excellent but Bobby's welcoming personality and friendly conversation made this an A+ experience. Fresh homemade clam chowder (made by Bobby ), delicious huge Caesar salad, turkey melt with chipotle mayo, avocado and bacon as well as the tuna melt were all great. Don't miss out on this place. Stopped in for an early dinner tonight while staying one night in Lone Pine. We were immediate greeted with a warm welcome and told to sit anywhere we liked. Adrian came over right away to offer drinks which were served quickly. He was very nice and helpful with the menu. My burger was delicious as was my husbands patty melt. The fries were hot and crispy. We especially liked the fact that it was left to us to season (salt) and dress our sandwiches as we preferred. I took a piece of strawberry rhubarb pie back to the RV which was super fresh and full of fruit. We will definitely return to the Grill. read more

Stopped in here for lunch on my road trip. 1st time here. Very clean, server very courteous and friendly. Started with coffee, not bad, had raw sugar, so that is a plus for me. I ordered the club. It comes on a ciabatta roll. This is not the standard club. It had good amount of sliced turkey, not lunch meat, good bacon that was crisp, green leafy lettuce, tomatoes, and a sauce. I think the sauce was like spicy mayo, it was really good, but there wasn't enough of it. I had fries as the side, they were good but had no salt at all. Overall it was good, a bit on the expensive side, 13.00 for the club, but seems like an upper scale cafe. They have indoor and outside seating, so looks like pet friendly outside. I would stop here again. They have a nice menu with a variety of food. read more

We stopped here on the recommendation of a local, and were not disappointed. We had the chicken -Ortega hot sandwich, wine and cherry pie. The sandwich was delicious, the wine pour was generous. I enjoyed the pie because it was not over-sweetened, so I could taste the cherries and not just sugar. Wait-staff were friendly and attentive as we sat outside. Covid protocols were all in place (hand sanitizer at entrance and cash register, all staff wearing masks). Will definitely stop there on my next trip from Silicon Valley! read more

Great restaurant! The waitress, Gerry Lynn, was very friendly, attentive, and helpful. All of the food we ordered was delicious and came out fast and hot.
