We arrived in the host is a super nice and God is seated outside and accommodate us to the table that we wanted with a good view. Our waitress was very attentive and knew what to recommend. We started off with the bruschetta and it was really nice. Nothing amazingly special but just nice. I was craving a good chop salad and I know that they make a really good one and of course it did not disappoint. I also tried their tomato shrimp bisque soup, which was delicious. We also got the Cuban Panini sandwich, which was delicious. The kettle chips were whatever I would've preferred french fries lol. A beautiful restaurant in Lakeway with gorgeous patio views and modern, fresh appetizer and entrée offerings! My bf and I came here on Saturday night for his birthday. We weren't super hungry, so we kept it simple by starting off with some apps: the crispy brussels sprouts and the hummus and whipped feta platter. I also got the Asian crunch salad and my bf got the tomato soup with shrimp. Out of everything, we thoroughly enjoyed the hummus and whipped feta platter which came with three dips, and crunchy veggies and pillow-y pita bread for dipping. The brussels sprouts were crispy on the outside, but not completely crispy, which caused them to somewhat miss the mark. The plate also had way too many walnuts to my liking, lol. I appreciated the fact I could add tofu to my salad (for an extra cost), but I decided not to because I wasn't extremely hungry. Without the tofu, the salad was fine, but to be frank, it's something that I could easily whip up at home thanks to salad packs offered at stores like HEB and Whole Foods. Responses were a bit slow initially, but with a few follow-ups she was helpful and did a good job answering my questions and clarifying details. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, making it a great choice for a festive gathering. Our reservation was in the evening in mid-December, so we did not get to experience the outdoor views, which I imagine are beautiful. That said, the indoor dining experience was still very pleasant. Our waitress was wonderful. She was accommodating, communicative, and professional throughout the evening. The food was tasty and well presented, and overall the group seemed happy with their selections. I ordered the bolognese. It was not the best I have had, but it also did not feel like a standout dish on the menu. I would be open to trying other options next time. Overall, we had a positive experience and would return. Hannah our server did an awesome job serving us on the heated patio. She gave good advice on the menu and offered suggestions on wines to our group. Only in town for a couple days and we will probably be back tonight to try something else off the expansive menu. It was a clear cool Night and the lights of the city below made for an awesome view. The worst dining experience in my whole entire life! Beware with their outdoor dining area!! They have this ceiling fans open that I don't know what's the reason behind opening it when the weather is so cold. And who puts string lights close to a ceiling fan??? It was a nightmare for me and my family members.. the ceiling fan and all the outdoor dining is a big safety concern! The ceiling fan got broken after it hit the string lights and one of the propellers broke and suddenly flew to my face, luckily I saw it and just turned around but still hit my neck to shoulder area. It was a huge, thick fan propeller and I don't think people will understand this if you didn't experience or saw it in person. Everybody was in shock and panicky because no one is turning off that ceiling fan even if it was still broken and hit ME on my neck! My family had to shout a few times just so everyone is aware to turn off the ceiling fan! Compensated all of our food but it will but our life will never be the same again.. the trauma you this restaurant caused us! And I think the staff wasn't really fully trained to execute an emergency because they don't even know what to do and at the end they just offered me free wine and the calling card of who ever we need to talk incase we have future claims with them. Other than that, one of the staff members were a little bit nosy and staring at us and giving us that annoying look! And that's unacceptable and inappropriate. To conclude this, someone needs to be liable.. definitely not coming back to any restaurants named after this company in future. Luckily, the food and server was good but still not a solution to a horrible accident that could have been prevented by the staff or maintenance. In all the years I have worked in Austin and passed by this building - I was not aware of this restaurant until a colleague recommended it today! We sat on the outside patio and enjoyed the absolutely stunning views! Despite being in the 90s it felt very pleasant on the deck. We shared the bruschetta appetizer which allows you to pick 3 combinations off their list of about 8, we chose mushroom which was my favorite, a Brie apple and a salmon and each was a perfect bite. Then we had the tuna poke bowl - it was delicious but more of a ceviche than a poke as the acid in the dish had pretty much cooked the tuna! It tasted fantastic however and was a nice light dish. Service was spotty however - our sever was initially on top of things but was a bit weird and a very close talked which was not comfortable! www had to wait an extortionate amount of turn to pay and had to flag down help several times in order to pay ! My wife and I visit the Grove a couple times per month. Their food is always consistent and their service is always fantastic. We often bring friends and family who visit Austin to this specific location in Lakeway because of the great service consistent food and wonderful view. We appreciate how the Grove can accommodate gluten-free diets. They have many options that are gluten-free, including desserts. We often enjoy the flatbreads as an appetizer as well as the brussels sprouts. They have a nice wine flight menu and they provide descriptions of each wine when they serve the flight. We do wish they had a premium selection of wine flights such as reserve Cabernets from Napa as an option. Hopefully they will include some premium flight options soon. You can't go wrong with any of the food items at the Grove. They have one of the best smash burgers in Austin, and their salads and dinner items are delicious. Latley we've been sitting outside and our server has been incredible with taking care of us. The servers name is Ozan and he has waited on us about 3 times over the past month. He is super friendly and makes sure to take great care of us! The dining atmosphere in the main eating area is very nice with a great view backdrop looking over Lakeway. We really enjoy sitting outside overlooking the hilltop views. The Grove also has a very nice bar with a great wine selection and beer on tap. I had my friend and I sit at The Bar which you can order food as well so we had drinks and wine and decided to order the prime rib. The Prime rib was absolutely delicious it was very moist and succulent with incredible tasting seasonings that made the taste even more. As we sat the only problem we had was our waiter had gotten our order incorrectly and he had to keep bringing back to correct the mistakes he had made. The problem is that I didn't want the salted spinach with my prime rib on top and I made it clear that I want it the side salad as well. Also he was hard to find at times is the only complaint I really have at the Grove otherwise everything was pleasant and nice and jolly so I would recommend this location if you want good prime rib this is the place to go. Also if you go during the day the parking is much easier but if you come after 6:30 or 7 it is a very full parking so I suggest either come Early so that you'll be able to get a parking spot. Decided to go there for Easter Brunch today on Sunday 4/5/2026! Was disgusted with the food. Ordered Eggs Benedict, Migas and Crab Cake Benedict. The latte was not a Latte, and there was no flavor with any of the food. Absolutely, the worst experience. Update 02-11-2024 Our last stop at The Grove - Lakeway was not very pleasant. We were in Lakeway again this week, and decided to give them another shot... A marked improvement from our last visit. Elliott waited on us at the bar and did a fantastic job. Thank you, sir! The drinks were very good, Bombay martini ... made just right. On the food side of things, we started with a new menu item: Tempura Japanese Eggplant. Very tasty, very good, delivered piping hot! The batter on the eggplant was thin and crispy, the eggplant itself delicious. Served on a bed of miso vinegarette and sweet chili Thai sauce, garnished with a little green onion and togarashi spice. Our only issue with the dish is that the fried eggplant was placed on top of the two sauces. So, for the first two or three pieces of eggplant, you cannot reach the sauces. And, by the time we got to the bottom of the plate, the pieces of eggplant were soggy on the bottom. Suggestion: Put the sauces in a small dish on the side for dipping. That would work wonderfully! Next up... the beet salad. We have had that before, and its simply a delicious salad. Red, gold and candy-stripe beets, mixed greens, green apple, mandarin orange slices, spiced candied pecans, goat cheese with a citrus vinegarette balsamic dressing. Super fresh ingredients, served in an ice-cold plate ... fun to eat too, as you "unpack" the salad as you eat. Very good! We went in a totally different direction for us on the next dish... oven roasted meat balls. The meatballs were full of flavor, well cooked. The san marzano marinara had a little heat in it, with a generous bit of parmesan cheese sprinkled across the top... toasted focaccia present to soak up the sauce was a great touch. We have eaten many times at The Grove in Lakeway. Always good, but today it was not only bad, it needed to be reported. My husband had the enchilada plate. There was an object in the enchilada that could not be identified. It was white, plastic like and forked in shape. He pulled it out of the center of the enchilada, along with chicken skin and tiny bones. My partner and I got a Sunday sitter and wanted to have a boozy brunch date and somehow this is where we ended up. We were greeted with a smile. Staff here are friendly! We dined here after an appointment across the street. The reviews were high so I was excited to check out the place. The view is amazing!! That was the highlight. The Cuban press was lacking flavor. There seemed to be a lot of things going on in the sandwich but nothing was good about it. The homemade chips were also bland, nothing to rave about. A little salt might help. We split the dishes and I appreciated the kitchen dividing everything in half for us. The Vodka sauce in the pasta had no seasoning but the salty Blackened Chicken made the dish. The prices here are really expensive IMO for the quality of the food. Food: The appetizers were amazing! We did the bruschetta with the fig, the option with the pistachio, and the mushroom one. These were absolutely delicious! We also ordered the tuna appetizer which was amazing. I recommend you stick to the appetizers. We ordered the only vegetarian pasta that was there and it was not good. All we tasted was lemon and it was nothing great. How have I not written a review about The Grove!? I guess I've been too busy in the moment enjoying my meal and company to remember. I've been to The Grove in Lakeway several times since moving to the area less than a year ago. They have such an extensive menu, which can sometimes mean they aren't great at anything, but I can tell you that is not the case here! It's got something for any dietary need. Every single item we have ordered has been a hit. My friend said that the chicken tortilla soup was the best he'd ever had. All of the varieties of bruschetta are awesome. The cocktails are delish. Spicy Pasta, No Server, and Zero Accountability We ate at The Grove tonight, and while we want to love this place (because it's one of the only non-Mexican options nearby), we walked away frustrated -- again. My 71-year-old dad ordered the seafood pasta, expecting a nice Italian comfort dish. What he got was something aggressively spicy -- like nose-running, mouth-burning spicy. No heads-up from the server, and nothing in the name of the dish that would've made that obvious. Maybe it's in the fine print, but between the low lighting and the small font, that doesn't cut it. If you're going to sneak that much heat into a dish, say so -- or better yet, mark it with chili icons like any decent Chinese or Thai menu. Worse, as soon as our server (Adon) dropped the plates, he vanished. Completely gone for over 30 minutes. No check-in. No chance to fix the issue. My dad didn't eat most of his food, and my mom and I just tried to salvage it. When the server finally came back, I politely brought it up, HOPING he'd maybe try to smooth things over -- not even asking for anything free, just acknowledgment. But instead, he was pretty defensive, which would have been okay- then he asked if we wanted dessert (not on the house), took forever bringing the check, and didn't even seem particularly nice about it when he returned. Super annoying because i voiced all of this in good faith so we could return and dust it under the rug, but had to leave and sit through a 15 min car ride about how my dad never wants to go back- and i don't blame him. This is the second time we've had this exact issue here -- last time it was the calamari. Also too spicy. Also no warning. We live nearby and would love to keep coming here. But if you're going to serve spicy food disguised as Italian comfort dishes -- in a community where a lot of diners aren't chasing heat -- make it clear. And when a mistake happens, make it right. This felt like no one cared either way, and that sucks. read more
