    Crawfish Entouffe
    Alex P.

A casual gumbo spot? That's not something one runs across every day outside of the Cajun country. What makes it more surprising is that Gumbo Bros was started in NYC by two college roommates, with initial success in 2016 followed by an expansion into this Nashville Flagship location in the Gulch. So, what can be noted about this one gumbo? It's a solid take on this classic dish. The entouffee has a decent amount of crawfish tails and is rather tasty. There is a casually decorated interior dining area and a nice patio covered with umbrellas. As a result, Gumbo Bros is an excellent spot for an easy meal, or a much needed hangover cure.

A few Louisiana Natives told me about this spot! When it comes to Cajun/Creole food. Especially *Gumbo, Red Beans & Etoufee I'm a tough judge because I was raised on all of these and it's hard to beat momo's cooking lol. The best 2 things were the PoBoy and the Boudin Balls Great fry on the shrimp. Boudin was crunchy & Full of spice! I recently just had the crawfish boy, what a surprise. I just couldn't get a pic. We will be back to get more.

Great location, friendly staff, and a truly authenticate meal. I went in saying, I don't eat red beans and rice... but I do now!! Drinks and pasta weren't the best, but the beans and fish were wonderful!

This was the perfect hearty homestyle cooked meal and really hit the spot. Very fun Cajun spot in the Gulch. If you're looking for bourbon street in Nashville, Gumbo Bros is your spot! I ordered a cup of the seafood gumbo and the catfish pontchartrain. Both were perfect. Gumbo had a decent amount of spice but wasn't spicy if that makes sense. More peppery. The catfish was fried and came with shrimp in cream sauce that pulled everything in the dish together. Very good. Drinks were great here as well and they featured some New Orleans staples. Service was very friendly and took great care of us. Thank you!

The decor was on point. The boudin balls were disappointing. As a native Louisianan they were spicy but bland. The seafood was decent and about average for Nashville. The drinks were the best thing. The hurricanes are deceptively good. Service was good also. All in all pretty good. Ill have to try the gumbo next time.

Nice location and atmosphere. Looks like this is a pretty popular place in the Gulch. Steady stream of folks at the bar and tables! Great service from the entrance, table service, and at the time we left. Everyone was nice. The food was good- this is the only Cajun place we saw and for the area it's very good. The po boys were on the right rolls. I will say the bread pudding was very light and fluffy. I like a more dense and bread-y one, but great glaze. The potato salad was good, but the fries were ok- a little too crispy. However the boudin and fried green tomatoes brought me up to a solid 4!! Worth the visit. Keep in mind you are NOT in NOLA, but they have done an excellent job getting close!

Heather our server was amazing great service and knowledgeable. The food was amazing and the portions was huge for the price. Most definitely will be back for my Cajun fix.

They have the lock on gumbo! Color, flavor, meat, no complaints! The boudin balls and the hot honey sauce were good. 4/$12 was a bit steep to me. The voodoo pasta and the catfish ponchartrain were good but too much butter! I want to shoutout Gabe for being an excellent waiter! High energy and great service. We were on the waitlist for 1.5 hours. I recommend investing in an electronic waitlist system to track the parties. We walked around for a while but had to keep coming back to check our spot in line. Lots of patrons were sticking around to watch the football game so it held up on seating.

Great location with welcoming curb appeal as it offers outdoor seating as well as indoor. Full bar with cute decor. We ordered the seafood gumbo with was my favorite of the 3 dishes. The Cobb salad was just ok and the pupu platter (pickle, okra and green tomato) was just mid for my liking but my gfs enjoyed them. Just ok spot for me. Nothing really stood out.

Shut my mouth those beignets are worth the visit. If I'd known they were that good, I may have started and ended the meal with that. I love crawfish and I love queso...combine them together and BAM. I was most impressed with how much crawfish was in the queso. It was not just on top but all throughout. The shrimp poboy was excellent. Shrimp was succulent and fried perfectly and the bread was exactly as it needs to be for a poboy...crispy on the outside, soft on the insides. My husband had crawfish étouffée. He said it was very good. Our server was terrific too. She was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Did I mention the beignets?

I've been to NOLA so I was skeptical about a NOLA inspired gumbo spot in Nashville but WOW. This service and food at this place was so good that we dined here twice during our visit. You can't go wrong with any of the food or drinks here. Not to mention, the ambiance really made me feel like I was back in the big easy. Pay a visit to The Gumbo Bros, you won't regret it.

My family came in town and wanted to try a new brunch spot, and I was excited they chose this place. I've been wanting to try for awhile, but I kept pushing it down my to-try list. We made a reservation, but when we arrived they didn't acknowledge it - something to keep in mind. The flavors weren't as Cajun as we expected. Please keep in mind I'm southern through and through, so my palate has experienced all regions of it. It could be that I need to try the main menu. I loved the Mardi Gras themed decorations. There's paid parking behind & catty-corner to the building. Like: alligator Benny (fried well, tasty hollandaise, egg cooked to order); hot honey chicken biscuit (sweet & spicy sauce); service (helpful & kind)

The Gumbo Bros. location in the Gulch absolutely blew me away, especially their étouffée. I stopped in solo before an appt. I had over here and sat at the bar, and the bartender was incredibly kind and generous, letting me sample the two dishes I was deciding between. I tried Nanny's Seafood Gumbo, which had a very bold, distinct seafood-forward flavor that might be perfect for some, but for me it was a bit overpowering. The étouffée, on the other hand, was more balanced and lighter, with flavors that just hit in the best way...so it really comes down to personal preference. It was a cold December day, and I was craving something warm and spicy, and this absolutely delivered. I ordered the étouffée with shrimp (though they weren't blackened as described), and it was still deeply comforting and delicious. I paired it with a Harding House Jimmy Red Lager, and loved the thoughtful touch of little baskets of popcorn at the bar. Parking can be tricky in the area, but I easily found off-street paid parking near Turnip Truck!

Stoke Haus Brewing & BBQ is hands down the best BBQ experience of my life!…read more A few helpful tips before you go: parking is a little limited right in front and the entrance is easy to miss. There is additional parking around the side in an open lot that felt safe, was free (at least currently), and was super convenient. Once you arrive, walk around the left side of the building and order inside at the bar. They'll give you a pager, and when your food is ready, you'll head outside to the food truck for pickup. When we first walked in, I have to admit I thought, "What is that smell?" Then I realized it was the giant brewing vats and the smell of the beer-making process. Once I connected the dots, I actually started appreciating it and felt it added to the experience and the authenticity of the brewery. We tried their signature beer, a quality dark ale that paired perfectly with our meal. It had a great depth of flavor and was the perfect complement to the BBQ. For food, we ordered and split: Half order of ribs: incredibly tender with a crispy, flavorful top. They were packed with flavor and came with two dipping sauces. I preferred the BBQ sauce over the Carolina-style sauce, but both were enjoyable. Brussels sprouts: OH MY GOODNESS. I genuinely did not know vegetables could taste this good. Even my veggie-hating partner loved them, which honestly says everything. These were a standout. Mac & cheese: visually, this was beautiful and looked like it was going to be a favorite. Unfortunately, it didn't quite hit the way I expected and wasn't as satisfying as I hoped. THE BRISKET BURGER = THE STAR OF THE SHOW! I have never had a brisket burger before, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but this was phenomenal. The Gouda cheese was incredible, and the combination of the mayo, pickles, and sauce created the perfect balance of flavors. It was everything you want in a burger and more. This is the dish I will be telling everyone about. Beyond the food, the atmosphere was fantastic. They have board games in the back, and it looks like they host karaoke nights, which gives the space a really fun, community-oriented feel. Every staff member we interacted with was kind, welcoming, and helpful. Honestly, there was nothing to complain about. Great food, great beer, great people, and a unique experience. Stoke Haus is a must-visit and if you go, do yourself a favor and order the brisket burger. You won't regret it.

You know the places I'm talking about. No, I wanted somewhere authentic. In a neighborhood, not near the mall. A place most people would drive past. Stoke Haus is all this and more. Much more. 2pm on Sunday and the parking lot was full. (I'm sure a good handful was for the liquor store next door). The first issue - how do you get in?? There is no front door. There is a tall wooden fence on the side of the building. I peek through the gap between the fence and the wall. A long smoker, a pile of wood, a small food truck (what???). I see a couple leaving the building by a side door. This must be it. There is a sign taped to the door: order at the bar and pick up at the truck. Following instructions, we approach the bar. The couple next to me just got their food. OMG. That looks so good. I ask what they have...brisket, a pulled pork sandwich, German potato salad, cole slaw, fried okra and a little pile of pickles and marinated onions. I don't even look at the menu. "I want that" I tell the bartender. We each order a beer (I forgot to mention that this is a brewery too). We received our beer and a buzzer, found a table and proceeded to play on our phones until the buzzer went off. My husband went outside to the food truck and came in with a metal tray nearly overflowing with food. We didn't waste a second digging in. The brisket was incredibly tender with a most amazing bark. A little too fatty, even for brisket, but still a "must order". The sandwich was absolutely stuffed with tender, juicy pulled pork. Perfection. The sides, especially the potato salad were excellent (though the okra wasn't made from scratch, it was still worthy). The pickles? That final little "oomph". Our meal wasn't just a home run, it was a grand slam! I've written a lot of reviews. I've written a lot of 5 star reviews. I'd love to be able to give Stoke Haus 10 stars. This is definitely a don't miss!!
