I'm really confused on these reviews. The place inside was scary and unfinished. The floor was a mess, the wall had a horrible paint job, there's a random dirty chalk board in the back and the tvs weren't on. The staff was nice but nothing overly done. The food was sooo overpriced and the food was unauthentic. I got the lamb gyro and fries. First off, the lamb was cut into cubes! Normal lamb gyros are thinly sliced off. The rice on my husband's plate had no flavor and I didn't really like the white sauce that came with it. I love Mediterranean but this unfortunately was not for me. read more

I had a small complaint about the lamb on my gyro being a little to crispy once and the manager listened and took my constructive criticism to heart. This place is definitely going to join the rotation of my go-to spots in the area. I had the chicken platter, a small was enough for me! They do not skimp out with the protein, as other places do at times. The chicken was well seasoned, the salad was fresh, and the rice was cooked perfectly. They are also very fast, the food came out just after I paid and found a place to sit. You can look into the kitchen, and they seemed to be cooking everything to order, so kudos to the employees. As someone from NYC, my standards for halal type cart food are petty high. This place was quite good for a suburb gyro joint. I got the lamb platter. The meat was good quality and tasted fresh off the grill. The rice was even better cooked and seasoned authentically. The red and white sauces were great, although I would have preferred more kick from the red sauce. The salad could have been more fresh and they could have added more cucumber and onions instead of lettuce. But overall this place was well above my expectations! read more

This is a brand-new restaurant in the area. We found it on Uber Eats and gave it a try. To begin, everything was fresh tasting and wonderfully delicious. The hummus and toasted pita bread was creamy & satisfying. The dolmadas were fresh and slightly spicy but so so good. The chicken plate with rice and cucumbers was just perfect. The kids loved their schwarmas as well. Finally, the baklava was a sweet ending to a perfect meal. In fact, the food was so good that my wife an I snuck away to grab a falafel gyro and another baklava the next day. Tried for the first time last night. The food was amazing. I am typically a very picky person and was afraid to try this place but ended up loving it. I got the chicken gyro, my husband got the lamb and they were very flavorful. We also got the hummus and French fries. Both were great. The fries had a very good seasoning on them. As a vegan, it's very difficult to try and find a decent place to eat on the days that I don't bring my lunch to work with me. I was so excited to learn that this place exists, as I absolutely love falafel. This is probably the best place I've ever had it at!! I was disappointed recently basically to the point of not going back. I realize this is a bit unfair though because I did not let them know at all I just marked them off the places I go list which is a bit harsh. I was charged $40 dollars and found out my order was completely not what I had ordered and considerably high for what I received. I ordered by phone so I was like maybe that is on me for thinking and not knowing the prices as I ordered. I felt a smidge betrayed by what I perceived as increased prices (unless the website is wrong maybe its all correct and they just really upped prices but did not update the website. If that is the case most of the rest is moot, prices are too high I won't go back.) How did we end up there? First issue, upon picking up the bag it was tied up and the bag being tied is a hard stop of checking the contents to ensure the order is correct right at the counter, where it would be easiest to identify issues. Could I have been more bold and unknotted the bag sure, but socially it is not polite and you just hope things are going to be correct. Depending on bold customers is going to keep your Karen's but make you lose your masses. Second issue, I realized the first issue once I was home and I had 2 platters for $40. (By website 2x 13.99 = $27.98+8.25% Tax = $30.28 ) Unfortunately I had also noticed as I signed it that the receipt you receive is only a total, no itemization of what you ordered so contesting this is going to be hard because you do not even have a receipt to lean on. *EDIT ADDITION* Upon reviewing this I realized I never said what I had actually ordered my intention had been 2 Lamb Gyroes ($9.99x2) and one Lamb Platter (9.99*2+13.99)*1.0825 = $36.77. Still overpaid unless prices went up which is even more confusing. (And insult to injury I tipped, lmao.) Being that I was home, I would have to drive back most likely to reach any resolution so I made the choice to instead eat the costs and order elsewhere. I like the old man at the counter though so despite this being a negative review it is a chance for him to correct change some of the issues marked out above and keep more customers when this happens. Delighting the customer would be: -Review items at the register before tying up the bags -Provide an itemized receipt so the customer knows they were charged correctly. -Hopefully you resolve at the register rather than the customer swallowing the cost and deciding to spend elsewhere or having to drive back and maybe decide the same. read more

I ordered a chicken shawarma and it was very hard to eat due to the juice from the meat soaking through the pita and it was overfilled. They give you a red sauce that tastes like Tabasco sauce which isn't what's typical for a Greek food spot. Anyways. The meat was pink outside which made me think it might have some flavor but it was pretty bland. Hummus was the only thing that I tried that I actually liked. So I've been looking for a good gyro place nearby ever since the excellent one in Fall Creek closed during Covid. That Lebanese one was just great but was in a weird back side of a strip mall and nobody knew it was there despite my amazing reviews of it. Anyways..I digress....suffice it to say I had really high hopes for The Gyro Guys. I ordered a chicken schwarma and the hubby got the combo plate of gyro and chicken. He said he really liked it. Mine...I just felt like the chicken really didn't have a lot of flavor. Which was weird because it had that nice pink marinated color to it. It needed something. I think salt. We had sides of hummus and falafel. Both were excellent but they over toasted the pita that came with the hummus. It was almost crunchy in parts. Overall I wouldve given the spot a 3.5 but I rounded up because Jason liked his meal. This was a first time review which I usually don't do. My husband and I had high hopes after reading the reviews and looking at the pictures of the items on the menu of this place. We called in our order of one gyro plate and one chicken shawarma plate. When we arrived home eager to eat, we both sat down and were quite disappointed with both the appearance as well as the taste. I've never had a gyro that was put together with chopped chunks of lamb meat and we have never had a chicken shawarma wrapped in a green tortilla with red chicken, it totally looked like a garbage wrap. Ok just tried this place for the first time. I am middle eastern so I absolutely love Greek food as their food is similar to ours. I'm a huge gyro fan. When we got our gyros, good presentation, looks fresh no complaints there. However, I was a little disappointed that the gyro meat was diced up and not sliced. It made it hard to eat and keep the meat in bread. My other issue is the sauces that came with it... where's the tzatziki sauce!??? I got what I think was ranch but I'm not sure why. I got what I think was supposed to be tzatziki sauce but it was just yogurt and garlic. And again why? I got a hot red sauce that tasted like buffalo sauce... It was good but why do we need buffalo sauce? Overall this was a good fresh sandwich but such a disappointment when it comes to getting what you expect out of a gyro. When I go to get a gyro I'm looking forward to the sliced gyro meat and of course the tzatziki sauce that compliments the lamb!!! I'm sure they were trying to be different but with gyros it's just not necessary. Mind you nothing we ate was bad at all just didn't all work together or make much sense. We then ordered the baklava as well... that was a top 10 baklava hands down! Tastes so much like my mothers. I strongly suggest these owners go and check out Niko Nikos ... they are the best in Houston for decades... and for a reason. They keep it real and consistent.
