This place is everything I wanted and more. It's over in the heart of Canonsburg and it has so much character from the food to the interior to the staff. Bonus points for easy access parking. The food was delicious and filling, too. We ordered a couple of gyro salads and a gyro combo to-go. The smells in the car were amazing. The gyro salads came with both Greek dressing and tzatziki sauce, as well as a generous portion of creamy and well-seasoned feta. Really, really good. The gyro combo wasn't for me, but I snuck a couple of the fries included and they are my favorite type of fries where they are cooked so that they're extra crispy. Overall, really cool place. Fantastic friendly service! Had the Grilled Chicken salad and it was quite good. The "small" is huge! Hubby had Gyro and pronounced it "very good". Charming. I stole a couple of his fries and they were perfectly cooked - crisp on the outside, fluffy soft on the inside. Great lunch stop. read more

Absolutely delicious, authentic Greek! The cheese pie and grape leaves are the best I've ever tasted! And don't get me started about the rice pudding! Fantastic! The owner is also the food preparer and he takes such care in everything he serves! Highly recommend it! He has a small place with minimal seating, and he is cash-only essentially but will allow a credit card but charges a 4% service charge if you use a card. I get it though. It isn't a deterrent for me to get my food from there. He is connected to online food delivery services but you can forego all of THOSE fees by just calling and placing your order and going yourself to pick it up. It's worth it! read more

This place is awesome. I rarely give 5 stars but I can't speak highly enough about the Gyro Place. The location is in canonsburg, right off of pike street. Other reviews say this is a "dive, or whole in the wall" - when I hear those things I normally would think "dirty". however, even though this place is tiny & very outdated it is kept extremely clean. The owner is great, always happy to get business & definitely goes out of his way to make sure that his food is prepared and served fresh. Yesterday I got the veggie gyro, at lunch time I walked in to order & my food was ready in less than ten minutes. For less than $7 I got a gyro that was so big I needed to eat it with a fork. I would highly recommend this place. They do not have alcohol, and like I said the seating in this place is pretty outdated so I don't know if This would be considered a "date night spot" but regardless it's a great place to pick up a quick bite or call ahead. read more

I was hungry and driving past and noticed this little hole in the wall. Had good reviews so I decided to try it. My mistake. I wasn't in the mood for a gyro, maybe I should've ordered that. Instead I ordered the fish and fries sandwich combo. Totally inedible! Fries are super soggy and looked like they might have been sitting in the oil. The fish filet itself broke apart when I lifted from the bread. All tasted like oil and had no seasoning.... not even a hint. Will not be coming back and will not be recommending. Great little restaurant on West Pike St in Canonsburg, PA. Its the mom and pop little places you almost always get the best food! This place is no exception. I had the stuffed Grape Leaves, the leaves are slightly tart tasting with some lemon sprinkled over them. Filled with a meat and rice mixture, 5 to an order, very tasty. I like to dip them in a Tzadziki sauce from the gyro. I had the traditional Gyro, a huge half pound of lamb, seasoned perfectly, tender, juicy. My mouth watered watching the meat being carved fresh. I love pita bread, soft and chewy. I get lettuce and onions on mine. The Tzadziki sauce, homemade, creamy, was awesome!!! If you love Gyros, you'll love these. You order off of the two menu boards and take a set while they prepare the food. Great food, huge portions. The gyros are stuffed full of meat. Most places use the lettuce as filler, this place has the meat as the filler! The way it should be. I would suggest more tzatziki sauce, though. Prices are reasonable, not cheap, but you are getting a stellar product. They offered a military discount too. read more

Stopped here at about 3 pm on a Friday on the way back to St. Clairsville from Pittsburgh. Only one other person in the place. VERY friendly woman behind the counter, and the owner was cooking...nice guy, chatted it up with my husband. I ordered the 1/2 lb gyro combo, and my husband got the "Super" combo, which is a whole pound of gyro meat on a pita! The pita bread was wonderful; very soft and fresh. Delicious meat, which I believe was a lamb mixture, didn't ask. Fresh salad and tzaziki sauce on top! Fries were meh, kinda tasted like the oil needed to be changed. Fries are kindof a big deal to me, so that's the only reason I don't give 5 stars! We ate ALL OF IT, which was totally uncalled for, lol. Nice little place in a shopping center. Clean bathrooms. If there are any more than 4 in your group, foreddaboutit. - Seating at most booths is fixed to the table. At 1960 waistline distances. So if you are part of the 30% fatty epidemic, expect to wipe, no scrub, the table's edge with your shirt. - Sometimes the food delivery can take a bit longer than desired, especially if there's a lunch crowd (like 3 or 4 people in front of you). - A little pricy for a single meal. But the quantity is adequate to feed 2. (On that basis, it's a bargain!) The Uglies: - If you are blind, you may end up ordering lunch at the insurance office next door. This place has good gyros from what I remember. They have a very erratic schedule though. Even though the schedule is posted clearly in the window they could be closed as much as two hours early if they don't feel like working that day. I think it's amazing that the business can stay operational while keeping a schedule like that. read more

Wow what a disappointment! After reading all the glowing reviews and hearing great things from the people in town I expected more. Completely un-edible!! I ordered supposedly the two best things in the menu a gyro and the Greek salad. There was so much lemon juice and oregano on both that we couldn't eat it.
