We only went here 1 time, and I'll be honest. We didn't care for it, and I haven't been able to justify going back to make sure my experience was a one-off. So, please forgive me for being negative. The prices were way too high for what we experienced. If you read my other reviews, I will be honest and say that something is pricey, but worth it. What I had on our visit just wasn't worth the money. I have heard so many good things from other people, (and I will say people I trust!) and I just don't get it. We went for lunch, as I said, our experience was NOT commensurate with anything I've read and been told. There are other places to get a good gyro that are way better. The wedding soup wasn't bad, the dry gyro we had was mediocre to "ok", and, wow-- skip out on the baklava. It was the driest, worst I've ever had. It tasted like it sat in the plastic box for a month before they served it to us. The rice pudding? Tasteless. We were very disappointed. I REALLY hope this was just a bad day for them, and our experience was not a norm. If we ever find our way back there, I will be sure to update. read more

However, the employee repeatedly reminded me that it wasn't time yet, accepted my payment, and then made me feel as though I was being shooed away. As a first-time customer, the interaction came across as unwelcoming and dismissive. Ordered takeout on the way home from work. Ordering was easy. Pick up was perfect and was able to get in and out without a problem. The staff is super nice and the gyro AMAZING. I went to Gali's Gyro one day for lunch and was blown away by the food. They are in West Mifflin and are a small, casual spot. The service was great. All the workers were so nice. The food came out super fast so it's definitely a good place if you want a tasty, quick lunch. They were not super busy when I went so it was very easy to get a table. I think most people probably get takeout for lunch. I ordered the hummus and chicken gyro. Wow they were both so delicious!! They also had baklava cheesecake for dessert. I didn't get it but it look so amazing. I want to go back to get it hahaa! If you are in the area and are in the mood for some Greek food I highly recommend. read more

Last weekend after a road trip to get out of the house and explore, we stumbled on this gem. My husband and I are obsessed with Greek Food. It's tough to find quality Greek Food. We were so happy to find this place. We called ahead and were able to pick up the food within 15 minutes. We were so happy when we were able to dive into the food. I got the large gyro and was smart enough to add feta. Boy was that a smart decision. The gyro was very good, but the feta really made it. The feta was so creamy and you got so much of it. I loved it and it was one of the best gyros that I've had. I'll be craving that for awhile. My husband got the Greek Burger which is basically a burger with seasonings and tzsatsiki. He enjoyed it. It had great flavor. Can't wait to come back when the dinning room is open and try other delicacies. Yum! Definitely go check it out. read more

The food and service here is always spot on and it has been a great place to stop for dinner when I am in the area, but I can't do it anymore. The problem is that they keep raising the prices for everything and it has become way over priced for a sit down, diner style Greek food restaurant. The problem is that it is run by an old Greek lady who makes her own rules. She has a sign up that says they close at 8 p.m., but if you go at 7 p.m. the kitchen is closed, but the place is open. Also, they don't serve alcohol and you are not allowed to bring in anything. So, forget going there on a weekend for some dinner and drinks. The inside looks like it needs updated, not the cleanest place. My water had something in it, and the raspberry tea tasted like cleaner?? V weird. The inside isn't huge. Some of the best places to dine can be right under my nose as I drive by them. Gali's is no exception to this. Stopped here after my visit the ENT for lunch. They have a small dining area. Take out is also available. They have a daily gyro special that includes a large regular gyro with a drink and your choice of soup, side salad or French fries for $12.49. They are also offering a similar choice using a fish hoagie for all Fridays during Lent and for Ash Wednesday. You cannot substitute the choice of meat in this combination but you can have items removed such as tomatoes, onion, and lettuce. I wanted to try the chicken gyro so today I was willing to go ala carte. Today's soup was a lentil soup and being such a cold day I ordered that. The soup was a large portion and was very good indeed. The crackers were fresh and crispy. Everything here is made fresh to order. Next up was my chicken gyro. My waitress was very helpful in bringing me tons of extra napkins I needed to go with meal. It took me a little time to find the chicken through the shredded lettuce but they had nice chunks of it scattered throughout. Unlike the regular gyro which I noticed you can't see anything else but the tons of meat on top of it this gyro had chicken buried and made it quite tasty and very messy! Portion sizes here are huge and even if you went with a starter or appetizer there would be more than enough satisfy as a normal meal. In fact there is a $3.00 sharing charge so as always I would advise one person order a main dish and the other order and appetizer or starter and divide your meal accordingly. Take out is also available and they do party trays. They also sell the olive oil they cook with along with Greek salad dressing. There are a number of vegan options on the menu and if you want to go gluten free then stick with one of their salads. The menu clearly spells out everything so that you are not taken by surprise. I noticed they have a small area for what I would call private dining for meetings and such. When you are finished with your meal you pay at the register and leave your tip at the table. Service was indeed very friendly and staff extremely helpful. Even though I went ala carte my bill did not even reach $20.00. Good food at reasonable prices-what more can you ask for? Located in a tiny strip mall on Clairton Blvd near the "cloverleaf" that leads to Bil Greene's shopping center they have their own parking lot. read more

Pittsburgh makes Chicago-style Gyros (arguably the best kind), shaved off the spinning rotating cylinder of ground beef-and-lamb. A lot of places use fake frozen strips of meat. Not in The Burgh and definitely not here. Gali's is simply the best Gyro in the Burgh. There's plenty of competition, too, from the likes of Mike & Tony's, but this one is my favourite. It's consistent, it's delicious, and it always hits the spot, so to speak, in an eating sense, not in any other sense. The Central Diner also has a very good one, but expensive, and the Istanbul Grille Gyro (and everything) is awesome, but Gali's edges it out, pricewise as well. Also, they have excellent service, both from the waitresses and the owner. Excellent. It's out of the way in the southtowns, but it's well worth stopping by. One of the best gyros in Pittsburgh. Gail's also offers many other delicious options, but it is tough to stray from the gyro. While I usually pickup, it is not a bad place to eat inside. The workers are always super friendly as well. I am not sure what makes them so good here. It may be the thick and flavorful pita which holds everything together. It could also be the sauce which has a great taste. The meat is also super fresh and tender. I would put this place in a close second to Mike & Tony's for best gyro in Pittsburgh. read more
