Stopped for lunch. The cafe is open for lunch and breakfast. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is a screened in room. The first thing I saw was the balcony g coffee roaster and the smell of beans.. they have sandwiches, paninis ,and breakfast. I had a monte cristo and my sister had a grilled chicken with avocado. 4 Days ago I left a comment on Cafe Adirondack's Facebook page similar to the review here about the uncomfortable situation with freezing air coming from the A/C unit in the dining room. This is the answer I received from whom I would assume is from the owner. "Well sir to be completely 1 honest, this business is owned and operated bya menopausal woman and we probably will not agree on what temperature is comfortable. Maybe next a time bring sweater?" Such a hot day today, so I got two small plates: Cafe Caprese and the Burrata with Shrimp and Scallops These were both ok - not amazing. The shrimp were overcooked but the scallops were perfectly cooked. The Burrata was just ok, a little watery/curdy. It's an odd combination so I had to try it. The Caprese had spinach and roasted red peppers on it. Staff were excellent!! Server, helper, hostess They have nice gluten-free and vegetarian menu options so a whole star for that! Wine selection was decent. They had some non-American options by the glass (American wines give me a headache!) They do not have a full bar. They have some special cocktails but all were too sweet for my keto diet. Olive oil on table was past its prime. Due to my previous experience here, when my friend asked me to come to a book club supper here I was extremely reluctant, but it was a group event and I didn't want to create a fuss. On an extremely frigid Saturday evening we arrived for our 5:30 reservation at 5:28. One person was 10 minutes late and though tables were empty, we could not be seated until our party was complete. We ordered and our drinks arrived quickly. I had ordered peach tea and was surprised mine arrived in a bottle. Soon, our food arrived. I was glad because I was beside the window an it was quite drafty. The dining area isn't particularly large and I assume this is why the service is so highly focused on turning over tables as quickly as possible. It bears mentioning here that due to the weather half the tables were empty this night. My tuna steak was cool, and the sear was a little light for my taste. I ordered the house made blue cheese dressing which was bland. Think sour cream with blue cheese crumbles in it. The salad had plentiful greens and veggies which was lovely. The Chloe fries which I was told was their best dish was home fries with some creamy type of perhaps ricotta or cottage cheese and some bacon crumbles. I would've given the food a 3 star review if not for the service... we were presented with the bill shortly after we finished our entrees and while we all still had other food to finish. Once the bill was paid we were continuing our conversation and sipping our drinks when the hostess came to ask if we needed anything else and also let us know they needed our table for a large party they were expecting. We made a reservation in the morning for 300pm when they opened. We had never been there before. When we arrived the hostess or owner brought us over to a small table by some bookshelves. We requested a table by a window(no one else was there and all the other tables were empty) instead. The woman said all the tables had been spoken for. I then asked a waitress if we could have a table by the wall and she said yes. The other woman berated her and told her she shouldn't be saying that, but finally relented and said we could sit there. I dont know who this woman was but nasty is the right word for her. By the time we left by the way, there was still other tables available. Food was good but a bit bland. I doubt we will be going back. We spent around 80 dollars with some wine, plus 20% tip. read more

This place is the best around the area hands down. We always come here and get the same thing. Our usuals: chole fries and seafood diavolo( you cannot go wrong, I promise you!). The food is really good and the portions are huge. Tonight we also got a kahlua cake(which is a must). We also got a bottle of wine. The servers are very friendly and attentive. Service was great. Staff were friendly. Most importantly the food was delicious. I had their special of red snapper and shrimp with a lobster cream sauce. Fish was cooked perfectly. For sides I had a salad and pasta w/ Alfredo. The home made blue cheese is so tasty. Loved the Alfredo too. My daughter loves mussels and had the appetizer special for her meal. We should have known to skip this place - google maps initially directly to the wrong location and when we called they had no idea what their address is. We arrived at 7pm. The entrance is deceptively around the back side. There were a group of adults waiting outside. We entered and no one was at the host station. After a few minutes, 2 teenagers showed up. When we asked about takeout, we were told that stopped at 5pm. When we asked how long a wait, we received some blank looks and um's er's. Finally, we were told it would be a long wait. No time length specified, no offer for a drink while we wait, nothing. They clearly did not want to seat or feed us. Left with a bad really bad feeling about this place. Turns out they close at 8pm so they really did not want to seat us - they could have said that. Good restaurants, even while busy, will offer something like a soup or salad to go. Customer service clearly does not matter to these owners or they'd hire proper staff not a bunch of inexperience High Schoolers to be front of house. As one of the only restaurants around, I guess they just don't care. UPDATE: the owners just left a super hostile comment on Google reviews. This just reinforces their total lack of professionalism and customer service. read more

There were lots of big tables, but they set the two tops off to the side by the bookshelf which made it feel more intimate. Even with reservations there was a little wait on a Friday night, and plenty of drop-ins told it would be an hour or more for a table. We saw others BYOB, but they had a nice moderately priced wine list. Our server Tori was a sweetheart. Started with the Bang Bang shrimp salad and tuna nachos, both were amazing, full of flavor. Crab cakes were also delish, but the rice was pretty bland and cold. I got the crab stuffed halibut with sautéed spinach instead of the rice. My brother and his wife split a steak and scallop entree, being in their 70's their appetite is not what it was. There was no extra plate charge and they very nicely split it in the kitchen. My lovely wife had the seafood pasta. It was a blend of shrimp and scallops in a cheesy cream sauce on linguine. I had the chicken and eggplant parm with penne in Marinara sauce. All portions where sizeable, we all took home trays. For dessert was cheese cake with a drizzle strawberry and a peanut butter pie, both were very good. The food quality was excellent, my Wife had chicken picatta and I had grilled Salmon. portion sizes were large, we have another meal from the leftovers. Cookery was proper and seasoning was on point, no salt and pepper shakers on the table. There are four doors in the front of the building, but the main entrance is at the back. For first timers, better signage would be helpful to find the way in. the maitre'd was welcoming and brought us to our table directly.
