Dear readers, I have been meaning to let you know about The Hair Bar...the location is so convenient, and easy to park. I love walking in and looking at all the products they have to sell while waiting for my stylist. I have been coming here for a couple of years now, and I am always pleased with my results. They wash your hair so well, and use excellent products. Shakira has been styling my hair recently and she's excellent, but honestly they are all good. Kaelin was wonderful as well, and I unfortunately can't remember the others who have done my hair, but no one missed the mark, especially with my thick curly/frizzy hair. If you have a special occasion, are in town and want a refresher, or just need a change you can't go wrong at The Hair Bar. I always, always, always leave feeling more beautiful than when I walked in. If you're searching for a blow dry bar in the area literally stop right now. This is the place. The girls here are unbelievably sweet and genuinely care about their clients. I've been to a lot of blow dry bars over the years, and I can say with full confidence that this is the best one, hands down. The customer service is incredible, the front desk is warm and welcoming from the moment you walk in, and every stylist is so good at what they do!! Also, It's taking everything in me not to gatekeep this stylist for myself, but I'm a girl's girl so I guess I'll share with yall, lol.. Kaelin does my mom's and my hair for special occasions and honestly, sometimes just when we need a little pick me up. We both have naturally curly hair, and she is 10/10 talented. I asked for a 90s blowout with big volume, but sleek and frizz free. If you're a curly girl, you know that combo sounds basically impossible. Somehow she nailed it. I came in for the first time on Sunday and unfortunately had a very off-putting experience with the front receptionist. She didn't greet me with a smile or even a simple "welcome" just a flat "Do you have an appointment?" It felt cold, uninviting, and honestly, left me questioning whether I was even wanted there. As someone new to the salon, that kind of energy really matters it sets the tone for the entire visit. That said, the stylist who did my hair was truly lovely warm, professional, and talented. She made the experience better, and I'm grateful for that. But the receptionist left such a negative first impression that I honestly don't see myself coming back. If you're trying to grow a loyal client base, the first point of contact should reflect the hospitality and quality of the service inside. I hope management takes a closer look at who's representing their brand at the front desk. read more

I had an event and got my hair and makeup done. I absolutely loved my make up application done by Sydney and my hair done by Rosa. Everybody was extremely nice and all of the staff complimented me. I felt at home. Complementary drinks were a plus! Definitely a fun place to go! read more

Went here to get make up and hair for me and my mother for a family photo. Hair was good, no complaints on neither one of our hair or the hair stylists. The make up artist though... ugh. She used the cheapest elf products on our face, made both of our face looked like we were made of terracotta. Color was so off, everything about our make up was just so not right, I even had her redo my eyes, but we both couldn't wait to get the cheap and uncomfortable products off of our faces!!! I thought I would treat my daughter and her friend to a blow out and style before their 1st Middle school dance! Horrible Experience- do not ever go to The Hair Bar! WAY OVERPRICED And The stylist Desiree is horrible!!! Worst customer service ever!! My girls are 11 & 12 and the cut off for the princess blow out is 10. That being said I paid an outrageous amount of money for two girls to get their hair washed, dried and curled! Until the stylist talked one of the girls into NOT getting her hair washed or dried! I'm sorry but what are we paying for?? Then the other girl (my daughter) showed the stylist that she wanted her hair all down and curled on ends with two small braids going from either side and connecting in the back. I was quickly informed that would be more money! I said how about we call it a "wash" since you are basically doing nothing to my daughter's friend? She and the girl at the front both said sorry but NO we can't do that! I'm actually pretty sure you could do that if you wanted to!!! Horrible customer service!!! Giving this place one start is actually more than they deserve. In reading all of the reviews it appears the theme is the same, belittling owner, terrible customer service. My experience was no different! Called to try and understand why the appointment made was no longer available. I received an appointment reminder at 8:23am but at 9:13am received phone call that the appointment was no longer available. Instead of trying to resolve the situation, the representative, Juju, didn't attempt to understand. She constantly interrupted me, kept talking over me and was just down right rude. That only caused me to be more and more frustrated with the entire circumstance. She refused to give me her managers name or put me in contact with the manager. I then called another location to attempt to obtain and had a MUCH different experience. The Dallas location was willing to work with me to get to a mutual resolution! I have been here three times now. The first two experiences were great. I had very professional stylists who knew what they were doing. The last appointment I had made with someone I had seen before but without telling me, they assigned me to someone else who had just got out of school. I had a special event that night and almost didn't go because the person I saw here ruined my hair. I have very thick nice shiny hair. I will let the photos speak for themselves...mind you this was after the "fix". When I asked the girl if she thought it looked nice she said "I don't know, it's your hair not mine"....i actually have a package there with 2 more services and I will have to eat the money as I refuse to go back. read more

We had to travel to Plano last min for a family emergency and I didn't pack any of my hair products. I also needed a moment for some self-care. I found The Hair Bar online and booked with Yvette and saw her within the same hour. It's such a cute space. It was nice walking in and everyone was chatting and laughing, it felt like walking into a friends place. Yvette was so sweet and kind and I really needed a moment to not think about everything going on with my family. She kept the convo light and fun and had some really supportive words. It was nice to feel seen by a complete stranger. Highly highly recommend both the Hair Bar and Yvette. They had cool packages that I probably would have taken advantage of if we were local. read more

I feel bad for putting this kind of review but I am highly disappointed by the service that was provided for me. I called a week and a half ago and requested keratin treatment and I got the appointment right away. I moved here from California and I used to get keratin treatments every 4-5 months. So I was aware of the results. I was told they use something slightly different but they all have almost similar results. And the pricing was on a little higher side but I was overdue for my treatment so I booked with them. The day of the appointment, I went and saw Rosa who did my treatment. She was very professional. I showed her the picture of the product I used in California and she told me that they use Keratherapy and results are almost the same. After my first wash, my hair is super frizzy instead of less frizzy my hair is super curly instead of my curls being relaxed and I paid $325 for the services. I'm super disappointed. When I called and asked what should I do, they said to provide the same keratin treatment as I used in California and they will follow the protocol for that kind of results. Well, I don't have a license to buy that product. How am I going to provide that for them?? I'm super frustrated and unfortunately I'm never going back to them. read more

The staff are beyond amazing at this location (Parker Road). I was late for my appointment, absolutely my fault, and they still accommodated me despite closing at 6pm. They did so with a smile and didn't make me feel bad (I was mortified and dying inside from embarrassment). It is currently 6:10pm and Lilith is still blowing out my hair. Needless to say, book with The Hair Bar in Plano, they go above and beyond. Love this place! read more

So I've given The Hair Bar three chances now and left again today, super unsatisfied and promising myself I will not go back. I was a long time Marbles customer and went frequently. Since being bought out by The Hair Bar, the quality of the service is subpar and unacceptable (customer service and skill level). My mom went in in November with a gift card and they didn't tell her until she was done that they couldn't accept bc it was a Marbles gift card. She mentioned she had a gift card when booking the appointment. They should've asked then if it was a Marbles or The Hair Bar since the manager and staff acknowledged at the end that this was "a miss in the buy out/transition" that has left a lot of customers upset. Tonight I returned even though the previous two times were sloppy jobs, hoping I'd find a stylist I liked. Let's just say I left looking like a 7 year old did my hair. I asked for volume and to leave looking like a curly cue since my blowout was actually for tomorrow morning and I left with half curled, frizzy and flat hair. I hate to leave my once favorite blow out spot but I can't anymore. The lack of customer service and skill level are not worth your money. read more

Not worth your time and money! Horrible makeup and messy hair (half up so) I was paying for a service that was supposed to be professional but instead I got amateurs and on top of that they ask while you are there... how much you tipped! I spoke with Julianna the manager or owner and explained my experience.... she told me she would follow up with the girls and call me back because she was busy and could not continue listening to me because it was a Saturday and she was busy. It's been more than a week, and have not heard anything back. I had to go to Austin for a wedding and begged the makeup artist for the bridal party to re-do my hair and makeup. Have been a longtime Marbles client and change of ownership definitely has changed the customer service vibe. Was early to my appointment and not one customer in the store. Two stylist and management chatting in the back and had to wait for appointment. I usually go to another larger franchise but like the optionality with appointment times and the more personalized service that the Hair bar offers. Stylists are professional and do a great job. Got a blow out and the girl who did it was so sweet, but unfortunately did not know how to blow out my hair. We all have off days, and times we are learning, and she even apologized for her work. The much worse part is, no one even offered any kind of discount for what happened. The front desk even said "it looks fine" after they asked how it went and I hesitantly said "she tried her best?" I own a business, and if anyone did any kind of job that was subpar, first thing you do is try to make up for it in some way. Instead, I spent time and money to get my hair half washed, and blow dried my hair frizzy. I would not be upset, if the front didn't brush it off and not do anything about it. I feel incredibly uncared for, enough to write my first bad review. I hope they care more about their customers in the future, and give better learning tools to their new employees.. read more

This was my first time here at this salon. The interior is beautiful, and the stylist are amazing! Especially Desiree! Unfortunately the management was rude and pushy, unknowingly to me I "had stay over my appointment time and now the price would be a style and a half." I stayed a few minutes over my appointment time while my stylist was fixing a few pieces of hair that were out of place. The manager came and informed me that I was now to pay an extra 22 dollars because I had went over my appointment time not on my own accord. This is simply the time that the stylist had finished my Hair. I told the manager that that was a bit uncalled for saying it was only a few minutes after the hour. She insisted I pay in a very strange " because I said so " . Tone in her voice and a crooked smile on her face. I paid. When I asked for the stylist's personal information, the woman overheard and barked out loud, for everyone to hear.... "Do not, do not give it to her Desiree, do not." It was a very uncomfortable situation for me and the stylist, (she was great). Unfortunately will not be coming here again. Everything was great until my interaction with that woman whom I presume to either be the manager or owner. read more

I would like to add to my previous review that everything the owner came back and said to my review was a complete lie. She also told my bank a completely different story, which was also an additional lie. Please don't waste your money at this horrible salon. As you can see, there are more bad reviews than there are good. It's one thing if a salon has an off day but when it comes from the top down, you just can't overcome it. Horrible owner, who manages the salon herself and is completely out of touch with reality and not a good business owner/manager. My daughters hair was not just slightly dirty. She had not washed it for almost a week, and it was dripping with oil. They proceeded to flat iron it with me on the other side of the salon not knowing what was going on until it was done. My daughter was horrified and attended her senior event that night with awful looking hair. Yes, she was late, not 31 minutes 15 minutes and I kept the owner and the stylist apprised of this the whole time. If they were not going to be able to accommodate the entire treatment we signed up for they should've let me know that from the beginning so that she could've just got home and washed her own hair. Even if I had to pay for the whole thing because she missed it that would been better than wasting the time at the salon having her dirty hair flat ironed. Absolutely horrible experience and then to be called a liar on top of it is completely insulting! Yes, she did say she was going to call the police if I did not pay her...otherwise I would've never done it. And the girl that was there for the interview that she said, chimed in left 30 minutes before I ever proceeded to check out. But if your like me and still are being CoVid cautious. This place is not for you. No one had a mask on except my stylist. Not the front desk people or the other stylist. I used to frequent Marbles prior to it becoming the hair bar. Since then I have been there twice, once that included two weeks ago. I sent an email to the hair bar to discuss the lackluster experience that has still gone unanswered or even acknowledged for that matter. I spent over $120 and was barely given a full hour for hair AND make up by the ONLY stylist available or even present in the salon due to covid. My hair was still damp and was not even actually styled with any tool of any kind. My hair ALWAYS takes 45 minutes to an hour ( I have long hair) and looked like something a child could do. The make up was mediocre at best and was also rushed charging me $60 for something that took her about 15 minutes. It's confusing why these appointments are slotted for 45 mins to an hour when you are actually not even given anything close to that, but sure are paying for that. I will not be back and will be sure and pass this poor experience with the many many people I have brought to this shop. You would THINK that given the fact people are finally back in business and able to get out that you might take care of the customer. That certainly does not happen at the hair bar. Don't waste your money! When this place was called Marbles I had consistent good experiences. Now that it is called The Hair Bar, it has been disappointing every time to say the least. I made the mistake to buy a package for blow outs - after the first blow out I wasn't impressed, but I thought maybe a different stylist would be a better match for me- I went for a second time and the blow out was even worse. Messy, not following my directions for what I wanted, my hair standing up everywhere, it was just upsetting, not to mention the stylist vibe, so weird it made me just want to leave. On my first visit I spoke well in advance and in length to the front desk about a makeup application appointment. I told them that years ago (in Marbles time) I had a makeup session there and it was great. I had an appointment with the woman who I consulted with that day, only to arrive on the day of my event and find I had a completely different person. Again, I should have left and not gone ahead with the appointment just from the appearance of the makeup lady alone. I sat there and told her what I wanted. I watched her struggle to find her products, she had no way of sanitizing her hands, cross contaminated everything, no mask while breathing on my face, blowing directly on the makeup brushes before putting them on my face, she asked me several times what else she should apply on my face- it was a disaster and I left looking like someone punched both of my eyes. An unprofessional $70 makeup application of the cheapest products! I had to go home to wash my entire face and rush to make myself look better! It gets worse, when I told my dissatisfaction and feedback to the woman in charge at the front- all she said was, "let us fix it", HOW!?? I told her that there was no way to fix my makeup at that point without washing my face. I had no more time to waste and see if she or another person could do any better I had to go and shouldn't have to spend more time there for them to fix it, this wasn't a trial- you expect a profesional application when you schedule a profesional makeup application! When I walked in there was not a soul (no customers and no staff) anywhere in the salon. I actually thought the salon was closed and they forgot to lock the entrance door. I waited for over 5 minutes and finally walked to the back and said "hello" several times. A staff member finally stuck her head out from behind a closed door for employees and said "we will be with you in a minute" and closed the door. I walked back to the front and waited again and then three staff members finally came to the front and there was no apology for the long wait or not being greeted when I entered. Very unprofessional! I showed a photo of myself with how I wanted my hair to look to the stylist. It was a very simple blowout that was straight but with a lot of volume at the roots. I left looking like a wet rat. My hair had NO volume and was not dry in certain areas. My hair was flat against my scalp and was frizzy. When the stylist finished the blow out she didn't even try to smooth my hair or the frizzy areas. I asked a few questions about the product line (Kevin Murphy) she used when blow drying my hair and she said she was not very familiar with the product line. She uses the products on clients hair and is not familiar with the products? When she told me she used to cut hair at Great Clips before being hired at The Hair Bar I knew I was in trouble and would not receive a good blow out. She was a nice young girl, but she is NOT proficient on a blow out with volume. I will NEVER return to this below average, sub-par and overpriced blow out salon again. They charge $49.00 for a 45 minute shampoo and blow out. If the stylist takes longer than 45 minutes they up charge you without mentioning that when you book the appointment. The stylist I was booked with should most definitely know how to blow out a client's hair proficiently. I have had hundreds of blow outs over my lifetime. I tried this establishment because it is 5 minutes from my house and was hoping I would like it. I didn't complain when I left and I tipped the stylist 20%. I just wanted to get out of there and go home and shampoo my hair again and blow it out properly myself. I was terribly disappointed and my visit was not a good experience. read more

I received a Keratin treatment last week at this location and the treatment was not done correctly. Once I waited the 72 hour period and washed my hair, my hair was completely unchanged. I've had multiple Keratins so I know what to expect and it definitely was not this. I reached out to the salon via email and did not receive a response within a few days. I finally called the salon and was told that I would receive a call back from Randy or Julianna. Randy emailed me back the following day (today) and said while he was sorry that I was dissatisfied, they do not provide refunds. I do plan on escalating the matter if it's not appropriately taken care of, but I would definitely just avoid coming to this salon. read more

We ended up coming here unexpectedly after receiving TERRIBLE service at Blo Blow Dry Bar (don't ever go there if you want good customer service). The owner was so sweet and accommodating. After readIng the other not so great reviews, I was super nervous for my appointment. BUT Citlale did a phenomenal job on my makeup and Kylie did my hair beautifully! Both girls asked me tons of questions along the way to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted. I will definitely be back. The one critique I have is that the mam keep products were products you can buy at Wal Mart. That has nothing to do with the make-up artist because it is my understanding that they are supplied by Hair Bar. I would recommend switching to name brand products. My makeup at home is better than the L'Oréal foundation she had to work with. read more

This is in response to the owner's reply. I had no problem paying, if it truly took 3 hours to do my hair. Because of COVID19, I feel like you are up charging customers because you are in the red. You misrepresenting the facts! You did not talk to me three times over the phone. (Side-eye) Your stylist put two drops of hydrating shampoo on head and was out of the product. Then spent time looking around for another product and finally used the purple shampoo for "blonde" hair because it was in stock closest to hydrating. Your other stylist that took over, remembered me from the Drybar and confirmed it never took that long to do my hair. As an owner, you should reflect on if you have the products in stocks to meet the needs of your clients and if you don't, decline the appointment. (And did I mention I paid $84 and help comb my own hair out...) I was very nice to both ladies and it is a flat out lie that I berated them. I am a regular customer at the Drybar and thought I would give you a try while they are closed, so no need to tell me not to come back- you could not pay me to come back!!!
