I like to leave a negative review, but this was the worst haircut I've had in 10 years, and that's hard to say about a high-end salon. I gave Von Anthony three visits. The first was with Shannon, who was personable and attentive, but I felt uneasy in his chair, so I decided to give another stylist a shot. I called and they suggested Zin (Malintzin Mosqueda), who did my second and third cuts. The second was okay, though she textured the back in a way that left it standing up after a couple of weeks. I have a lot of cowlicks, so I figured we'd dial it in over time. On the third visit I mentioned I didn't love how the previous cut grew out, hoping we could work toward something better. Instead the visit went downhill. I was handed off to a less experienced stylist for the wash, who soaked my shirt and got water in my ears. During the cut I ended up with hair all over my face and down my back. When Zin said she was finished, the cut was frizzy and visibly uneven. I asked her to fix it, and she then took off a noticeable amount she'd left on the first pass, which told me the initial cut just wasn't done well. I have simple hair. Most stylists can make it look good for a week or two, and the good ones make the grow-out look clean. This grew out poorly within a week, with hair creeping around the ears that normally takes three weeks to reach that length, the back standing up, and the front lopsided. The salon does a lot right. The ambiance, the tea, the hosts, and the easy scheduling are all genuinely nice. But the core product is the haircut, and the quality was inconsistent and ultimately disappointing. After a 20% tip you're paying $90 to $100 for a men's short cut, and the result didn't come close to justifying that. I won't be back. read more

Whatever your quoted, be prepared to pay more. They charge a separate fee (cost of blow out at other places). They over book and send you home with "fast dry" hair. Beautiful salon and nice people but just not transparent with pricing. They also own Ellie K but not sure what they are like. Don't mind the cost would appreciate paying what was quoted and not rushed out when excited to get services done. read more

Don't even bother going. It will save you heartache in the end. I've been going to this salon faithfully since they opened their doors 15 years ago. My bill was always over $600 every 5 weeks. I invested my money, my time and my friendship with employees I've known for years. Today, I was rudely dismissed by someone who had always been so kind to me. I accidentally missed my first appointment in all these years. I was told I had to pay 50% of my bill which would be over $200, and from now on, I have to put down a credit card and pay in advance before I can make an appointment. There was no kindness, no grace. I was just treated like they've never met me before. I'm sad, hurt and disappointed to be treated like that. I truly thought they were my friends, but they are two-faced, fake people that only wanted my money. read more

Just left Von Anthony and could not be happier with my cut and color. Emilee has been doing my hair for a couple of years now, and every time I see her I leave looking amazing. She has nursed my hair back to health (years of over-processing had it basically falling out when I first started seeing her) and the cut is trendy, but also easy for me to style myself. She has taken the time to listen to my feedback and is so thoughtful about the cut/color that best compliment my features. They absolutely ruined my hair years ago and took forever to grow back because she took an extra 6 inches off (but only in some places) which is especially terrible when considering I wasn't supposed to have any layers added. I was traumatized from my experience here to the point that I did my own hair for a long time. I just looked through the pics that have been shared. It looks like they specialize in giving women the "Karen" but I can't imagine that's what anyone asked for! I would NOT recommend Von Anthony to anyone especially brides!!! I scheduled an appointment at this salon for the first time. I asked for a quote to make sure it fit my budget for the month, as my wedding is this month and I am trying to be financially smart. My quote was approximately $200. My appointment on Monday with the lady I requested got cancelled due to her being sick, so one of the receptionists called me and rescheduled me with someone else. At this time they did NOT tell me that their stylists are based on a tier system. The higher the stylist is on their tier, the more expensive the service would be. There was no mention of a price change. I went to the appointment today and my hair turned out beautifully but when I checked out the cost was $400- DOUBLE than what I was originally was told. When I talked to the receptionist on the phone and explained to her the situation they told me there was nothing they could do because I should've just assumed the price would go up with this different stylist. They also tried GASLIGHTING me saying that the receptionist told me I would be working with the "master stylist" of the salon- this is not true. When I asked them to provide proof they told me this- they became reluctant and offered me $60 off my service. I appreciated that, BUT $60 is nowhere close to the $200 difference I paid. I am very upset. I run a very influential beauty account on TikTok with over 88k followers. I will be posting a more detailed informational about this experience on there to hopefully ward brides away from this so they won't have this horrible experience. read more

I booked an appointment for a few highlights to keep my hair light since I spent so much money in January getting it blonde (1st photo). So I thought a few highlights would help it look good until I needed another full balayage. Online the cost listed $45-$65 but I was charged $120. I do have a lot of hair but if it's over that much I wish I was notified before. The stylist didn't blow out or wash my hair, which is normal, and I left with a quick blow dry but when I got home I was super dissatisfied. I'm most upset because it's dark and I wanted to remain blonde. I also had color all over my forehead and ears. I replied to their feedback email but haven't heard back. Shannon did an excellent job with my cut! I was hesitant to try a new stylist bc I love the one I normally go to in Dallas, where I moved from, but she's been out of state since the spring so I called and asked who is the best Master Stylist they'd recommend to me and they mentioned Shannon, who has 30 years experience! I love the layers that my regular stylist puts in. I explained this to Shannon upon meeting him, and he followed the cut pretty much exactly. I am very happy with the end result. He listened to my requests and desires/goals and did an excellent job. Jesse, who is also a stylist but works in the back doing shampoos on occasion, greeted me at the door when I arrived and took me back to get my shampoo. I think it was a 20 minute shampoo... literally the most relaxing, peaceful and thorough shampoo I've ever had. My hair was clean and moisturized and smelled amazing, and then onto the cut. I have been searching for a Frisco based salon for years, and now I can say the search is over! My experience at this salon was top notch! It is clear Customer Service is their priority. Everyone from the receptionist to the stylist go above and beyond. The appointment starts with a quick neck massage with peppermint oil. The color treatment by Taylor was the best I have ever had and the warm towels draped around your neck while your hair is being rinsed is a game changer! Don't set foot in this place unless your getting a bleach job and even then I wouldn't suggest going here. I came in to help out a girl looking for hair models. But after I spent about 5 minutes with the girl who invited me in and schedule my appointment she was escorted away and the 'manager' said someone else would cut my hair. Then I was passed around to 3 different stylists and each one did not listen to what I wanted. They didn't even offer to book a second appointment and I believe it was because they did not think I belonged in that salon. I was pretty offended. Also the girl I had booked an appointment with was sent home! I could understand if maybe she didn't have to ability to cut my hair which is a short pixie cut but seriously let her stay and learn! Instead 3 other girls stood around me while I was passed around to almost every stylist there. This place sucked and I would never go back here not only did my hair grow out terribly about a week later but every person I dealt with there made me feel like I didn't belong. I wanted to like this salon but I am not a fan and wont return. Upon my arrival I waited and waited and waited to be called into my facial appointment. The receptionist didn't bother giving me updates and I asked twice when was the expected time. 45 minutes after my appointment time she tells me they're almost ready for me. If it had been a phenomenal facial I probably wouldnt have minded the wait but I left with residue on my face. The woman doing my facial was nice and polite but her technique was not the best. She constantly told me about things not included in my refresh facial and it'd cost me x,y and z if I wanted to add it. She tried to sell some products to me which I did like the products but when during the facial I prefer silence and once it's done I'm happy to hear a product pitch. When I got into my car I looked in the mirror to get a better look at the results and I'm not sure if it was part of the mask she used but there was white product still on my face somehow. Never have I had a facial and there be residue from any product noticeable afterwards. Won't be returning. Still searching for a great spa and salon. read more

Very nice Salon. I was actually glad I was able to find a normal salon. I am not from Dallas, but I travel a lot and once in a while I am in need to style my hair. I can't stand the independent business that all over Texas, that is something really new to me as we don't have such a thing back home. So, being able to find what I call a normal salon was great. The staff is friendly and they check you in fast. The decor and products that they use are top of the line. They are also current as far as what's IN for the season. Now, I'm a very picky customer with curly hair (not bad hair) and all I ask for anywhere I go is a VERY good blow dry. It's seems I haven't got that yet. The moment I leave the salon my hair starts getting frizzy and their suggestions is to do a Brazilian treatment. Well, I know my hair doesn't need that, I can actually blow dry my hair better and back where I leave they do it all the time. I can tell what a good blow dry is and I am unfortunately not getting it here. To pay 90 dollars for cut and blow dry and then it doesn't last you more than two days.... it's concerning. However, it's the best I have been able to find in this city so far. Kind of sad because I like their concept. read more

I had my color CORRECTED today by Terri and she did a fabulous job! My hair was such I hot mess I had to cover it up with wigs or hats for the past several months. She was able to beautifully correct what another stylist had done and I will definitely be back. The salon is beautiful, CLEAN and the employees conduct themselves with utmost professionalism while at the same time making sure you feel welcome and create a warm atmosphere. Terri's assistant (I can't remember her name) was also great, attentive and gave me the most relaxing shampoo and head massage I have ever had. Edit: the manager contacted me and apologized for what happened. I was told the person who worked on his hair no longer works at the salon. I don't know if it's true or not. She was kind and apologetic. She credited to his account and the price of the dye job. So my husband is going through some quarter midlife crisis and decided he wanted silver highlights. Yeah, don't get me started. What pisses me off is that this terrible salon decided they were going to rip him off since he is not knowledgeable in the beauty industry. They told him he had to make two visits in order to do what he requested. BS. Every single hairstylist I've spoken to says it should've been done in one visit, albeit two processes. My husband does not have waist length hair, it's about 2-3 inches long. THEY CHARGED HIM $100 for this bullshit highlight job. It is brassy orange. read more

I went to this salon as a new client and was impressed when I walked in but that soon changed. My hair was damaged prior to coming into the salon and I was needing some intense treatments to start the slow process of repairing it. I received a treatment and scheduled my next appointment. At my next appointment this is when things changed. I was not told that with a hair service they don't blow dry your hair as part of the service. It is an additional $60.00. Then they charged me for a long hair treatment when I have short hair. I was slightly irritated but the treatment seemed to be helping so I booked another appointment. When I came back the next time I was getting my hair colored. I had mentioned ahead of time that my hair was difficult and they said that they could handle it. I was there for 3 1/2 hours for a color. My hair wasn't doing what they expected (like I had said) and they were trying to figure out how to fix it. I sat by the hair washing station and my stylist had another client so he told the girl washing my hair to give me a treatment. I didn't think much of this because it wasn't something I had requested and I was coming in a few days later to do the intense treatment so I just thought he was trying to buy time and this wasn't something I would need to pay for. I didn't even get it blow dried and this was over $200.00. My hair didn't look any different from when I had come in. I got in my car and cried because I was extremely frustrated. I had the Lanza treatment a few days later and when I looked at the receipt they charged me for the short hair treatment this time (remember the first time they charged me for the long hair treatment.) which I was okay with because it was cheaper but still frustrating. Communication is extremely important and things could have been handled very different to turn this into a positive experience. I do want to say how friendly and professional the girls were that washed my hair each and every time I was in the salon. read more

This was my first time at the salon and to say the least it was an absolutely wonderful experience. Upon walking in I was greeted with such welcome and kindness. Zin was my stylist and she was amazing!! She was very knowledgeable and gave me great advise on what I can do with my hair. She immediately understood what I was wanting and gave me exactly that. I also received a refund for the full amount I spent on my cut. Overall happy with how they handled it and that they ended up reaching out to correct this. Original review below Ok so I always wait 3 days before writing a bad review just to make sure i am cooled off from the situation and have a cleared mindset. One star... that's it... and if I had zero to give I would. I left the salon happy with my services, because I didn't notice what was wrong until I got home. I got extensions installed about 3 weeks ago from someone not affiliated with this salon. I made an appointment at Von Anthony with Luis a few days ago for a hair cut. I was told he was very experienced with extensions and would be the perfect fit. The customer service was great, salon look nice but I got the most uneven choppy cut I have ever seen and I can't even do anything about it since it's NOT MY HAIR. The extensions were around 18" when I came in and I asked for them to be cut a few inches past the top of my shoulders. The length is fine, but he cut layers shorter then my own hair. I did NOT ask for layers. I may have been okay with the layers if it at least looked even. I am devastated. I paid over $1000 for my extensions so to have them ruined by a careless person who charged me $100 for a horrible haircut I am just in tears. I had my hair colored by Lydia last night and I could not be happier. I was recommended Lydia by another client of Lydia's who had beautiful hair color, so I was very hopeful. When I arrived, I was given a tour of the salon and a glass of wine. I'm already sold. Lydia and I met, discussed my history of terrible hair colors, and came up with a great plan for my new hair. She listened well and asked great questions to help me identify exactly what I wanted. From there, it just got better. She gave a wonderful neck/shoulder massage to start and really took her time to do my balayage carefully. My appointment was for 6:30, but I have a lot of hair and Lydia took her time to get it all right. Because of this, she ended up working well past the closing time of the salon. This is what really impressed me- not only did she not mention it or make me feel rushed- she offered to style my hair for free! 30 minutes after she should have walked out the door, she started curling my hair because she wanted me to see the color with curls.
