Racist Staff, Fake Japanese Treatment Can't believe I have to take time out of my busy day to write this but hopefully, it saves someone else time and a horrible experience. My cousin was visiting from Egypt and wanted to get Japanese hair treatment prior to her upcoming wedding. I initially was going to send her to a great stylist I know that flies to Japan to buy her treatment. That stylist was out of my cousin's budget so I found this salon. I called and was offered the treatment half off at $100. I thought this was a bit low since my other stylist charges around $600 but thought maybe my stylist is just expensive and it's a special due to few customers due to COVID-19. On the day of the appointment, my cousin was running 15 minutes late so she called and informed the stylist. The stylist said no problem. Then when my cousin arrived she was berated for being late. My cousin covers her hair for religious reasons and asked for a separate area to have her hair done. The stylist said there wasn't any. Fair enough. She then asked if she could put up the partition that was nearby to shield her from the male customer. She refused. My cousin said fine, he's elderly I'll take off my scarf. Then as soon as the stylist saw her hair, she loudly yelled out, "I can't do your hair! It's too curly! It will only get maybe 60% straight!". This is how I know she's using fake Japanese treatment or using another treatment and just calling it Japanese. My hair is curly and thicker than my cousin's and Japanese hair treatment made it bone straight. I hope management speaks to this staff member about basic manners and etiquette. I used to go to Supercuts on malvern and Gilbert because I had a great stylist there. I no longer go there anymore since she quit. Haircuts are one of the most defining parts of a man, and can really make or break the overall look of the person. Miss Min always takes her time with me and makes me feel comfortable and very much at home. One of my biggest gripes is that I'm Asian with a big head and it's hard to find people who can blend my hairstyle to look good with my awkward head shape. She'll have great recommendations for you and she also has a lot of other hair stylists that are ready to go for you as well. Miss min does an awesome job anytime I come in and the haircut is only $15 (not including tip), but she even washes your hair for you and adds complimentary hair gel/wax (if wanted). Respectfully, no. I came into this salon as a walk in and I told the hair stylist that I wanted to even my hair. She then grabbed the scissors and chopped an inch w/o thinking about. I said whatever, let's trust the process. She had hair dye in her hair?? Then she killed a huge cockroach grabbed the ride aid or whatever, set it down, then proceeded to touch my hair w/o washing her hands. She also continued cutting my hair it was such a sloppy job. She ended up leaving my hair uneven. It's not entirely terrible but a little more dedication would've been nice. Do better really, focus, and improve. read more

I waited until 10 and she still hadn't shown up. I gave min a call and she was so nice and very accommodating. She showed up within 20 minutes to cut my hair. I very much appreciated it. Unfortunately, the hair cut was not up to par. I asked for trimming on my long layers. I left with short choppy layers. Definitely not satisfied. I booked an appointment at this salon for me and my sister for a simple haircut spontaneously. They have very open availability and we were able to get an appointment same day, which was great. Starting price she told me over the phone was $25 for a womens haircut. When we got there, the owner (Min) was with another client so we had to wait a few minutes. When she was finished with the client, she had my sister sit down on the salon chair WITHOUT sweeping up the hair from the previous client. She didn't really ask my sister anything about what kind of hair cut she wanted. She only asked "do you want layers?" While she was cutting my sisters hair, she was extremely distracted picking up the phone, helping other clients who walked in, and helping her coworker look for a lost item. At one point, when she was blow drying my sisters hair, she dropped the hair dryer to the GROUND and went to help a client book another appointment. She also did not do the layers to go with my sisters hair part. She gave my sister a side part and cut layers that way but my sister has a middle part. When it was my turn for the haircut, she sat me down without sweeping up the hair once AGAIN. She sighed when she realized how much hair I had, which was a little rude. Similarly, she didn't really ask me what style I wanted for my haircut. I noticed that the way she styled my hair at the end was not flattering. She used a round brush and blow dryer however it made my hair frizzy. She also didn't take into consideration my hair part for the haircut. At the end, she charged us $35 each. I was very unsatisfied with my haircut. It wasn't very flattering on me. I think that this place is okay if you're just trying to get a basic haircut and don't care too much about cleanliness. if not, go to another salon. read more

Looks like a professional spot. People seem nice. I only saw one lady working, which was the one that was going to cut my hair. She asked me to sit down on the following chair, as she was currently rushing to clean the one she just used. Something normal, I believe. As we continued, she asked the general questions every hairstylist would ask. While from the beginning, I asked only for a trim, she continued over and over to ask me if I wanted something else. It became to the point of uncomfortable feelings. While she repeats for the 5th time what I want, she grabs the brush and siccors [unsanitized] and begins to stroke my hair with the brush. My haert dropped, and I asked the lady if she could just please stop. I told her I wasn't interested anymore and I stood up. Thanked her for her time and left. Unfortunately, she had a hard time understanding me (didn't understand what I wanted, kept calling me by the wrong name after I corrected her several times, wanted to color my hair even though I kept telling her I wanted to keep my roots my natural color and only do a balayage) and charged me a ridiculous price for the cut and highlight. I like the way my hair turned out but it wasn't what I had asked for, and I don't feel like I can trust her to be honest in her pricing.
