    Small Chicken Platter
    Keita N.

Walked in and saw freshly grilled chicken being prepped. Ordered the small chicken platter with peppers and onion. Wasn't too much rice and a plenty full of chicken, just how I like it. Their portion of white sauce was very generous and the service was nothing but kind. The atmosphere was very clean too. 100% will come back for more.

Their platters are so freaking good. My favorite is mixed with extra white sauce and and extra pita. We tried the chicken shawarma...it was ok but I'll stick to my usual.

Pleasant experience here. The lady's customer service is pure with no intent to change depending on the tip. She explained things well too. This store participates in upside and points accumulation offer by creditcards which is pretty neat. Their Mediterranean foods are good and fresh as well. Accepts credit cards. High chair available. Clean and organized place. Ample of parking. See images for reference.

Decently quick service at this nj location and is it the original truck quality? It comes so very close! This is our rainy day or winter tired comfort meal. Spacious in location, the restaurant appears clean and all napkins /utensils fully stocked without fuss. With 14 years of experience, the meat platter comes abundantly delicious. The service is quick, and usually very polite. once they gave me an incorrect order with items missing, but we're generally very kind about it. I am dedicated to the Halal guys and love their food not only as a New York City moment, but has an East Coast affordable standard. The food is well spiced and filling. Their white sauce feels decadent and the hot sauce packets will sear your taste buds depending on your personal chemistry. I've loved this meal for well over a decade and I'm so glad that they also deliver.

Super friendly staff and fast service. I've been a Halal Guys fan for years and the chicken platter never disappoints. Can't help to douche my meal with white sauce. Haha

Order: - Small Chicken Platter (5/5) - Regular Combo Platter (5/5) Pros: - Restaurant version of the infamous halal cart in NYC - Great tasting food - Quick service Cons: - More expensive than the same platter at the original cart Overall: Who doesn't love The Halal Guys?! While it is a bit more expensive than the original cart in NYC, the store locations serve up just as tasty food!

I have been going to the trucks in NYC since 2004 and this is the first restaurant I've been to in NJ. I must admit I prefer this over the trucks. Although the experience isn't the same as going up to trucks but the portions are better and did not have to cross the bridge to satisfy my cravings. To me, it actually tastes a lot better than the trucks in terms of freshness. Just getting to this location is kind of tricky since 22 is pretty busy but can't complain because getting to NYC is busy and parking is too.

After going to the carts my entire life, I started coming to this location when my cravings kicked in to stay local to jersey. While my first few experiences at their "restaurants" weren't so impressive, the last time I came here the platter was as delicious as I remembered it to be out on the street. I ordered a regular sized combo platter which is the larger size of the two options. The gyro meat was hot and perfectly charred on the outside and the lettuce was crisp and pita was fluffy. The chicken and rice were solid, just as tasty as I remember and I doused the entire platter in white sauce and a few slivers of red sauce. For those who haven't tried Halal guys before, ask for their hot sauce sparingly because it's not your average hot sauce these little lines of sauce are lava. Glad I gave this location another try!

Located in the heart of Cranford, this intimate yet homelike restaurant features a hospitable staff that takes the time to explain the menu, making the entire experience feel so warm and inviting. They offer a comprehensive menu ranging from lamb and chicken to shawarma, seafood , falafel, and so much more. Since they are a BYOB establishment, they will gladly open and serve your bottle for you without any hassle. For starters, we opted for the dip sampler, which includes pita and three distinct spreads. The Mouhammara is my personal favorite; it's crafted from red peppers with a pomegranate syrup that adds a hint of sweetness, while crushed walnuts provide an incredible texture. Next is the Baba Ghanouj, a roasted eggplant dip with garlic and tahini that creates a savory, slightly smoky, and velvety delight. Finally, it includes their classic homemade hummus, which is a classic and delicious choice. I love that you don't have to choose, you truly get the best of all three varieties. For our main course, we ordered the Old City Mix. It's a generous portion for two that typically comes with a garden salad and rice. I personally prefer the greens, so I swapped the rice for two garden salads tossed in a zesty minty vinaigrette. The platter features kafta, shish tawook, shish kebab, lamb chops, shawarma, and four falafels, all served on a bed of pita with tahini and garlic sauces as the finishing touch. Everything is remarkably fresh and seasoned perfectly. The falafel is crispy on the exterior and fluffy on the inside, the meats are grilled to your liking, and the salad perfectly balances the rich platter. I thoroughly enjoy this spot for both lunch and dinner and am even looking into their catering for my next party. Do yourself a favor and visit them soon!

I arrived just before their three o'clock lunch break and was accommodated by their daughter (who was really friendly and kind). We tried the snapper and vegan platter ($30). The snapper was huge ($30)! Enough to share with another person. Was on a huge tray of rice. The flavor was good but part of the fish was overcooked and dry and tasted a little fishy. The rice was excellent. I enjoyed the vegan platter, the cauliflower was standout. I also liked the falafel, which had a good consistency, flavor and wasn't too dry. Their garlic sauce is good too, and we ordered extra. Our friend's chicken and meat shawarma platters looked really good (~$17 each). They also got the mint lemonade ($7) which they say is really good. It looked super green and healthy, and like a slushie. They make the pita there and the pita was warm still and had a flavor! Didn't taste just bland and doughy. It tasted a bit buttery and kind of like pizza dough. Only $1 extra for pita and they gave us a bunch. This place definitely gives big portions for a good price. I would try some other food again!

I'd been dying to finally try their renowned Palestinian food. I came on a Friday night, and the restaurant was packed with families and large parties. They even offer valet parking--which tells you something about how popular this place is. And forget paying extra for bread. They start you off with a whole basket of 4-5 pieces of soft, house-made pita, along with pickled vegetables. The menu has both small plates (hot and cold mezze) and entrees, but we really wanted to sample as much as possible, so we went with the small plates. We ordered the fried cauliflower, fried cheese, lamb and beef sausage, and falafel. Everything was truly incredible, and the portions were very generous. The cauliflower was a little oily, but that's to be expected with fried cauliflower. It still had an amazing crunch, and they brought us complimentary toum and hummus for dipping, which was such a nice touch. The fried cheese was incredibly fresh and crispy with a light saltiness that made it hard to stop eating. But the falafel was the star for me--and probably the best I've ever had. Falafel usually isn't something I order first; I'm pretty take-it-or-leave-it about it. But these completely changed my mind. They're longer and more oblong than the usual round falafel, and the texture and flavor were fantastic. The lamb sausage was also really good. The only item that felt just okay compared with everything else was the beef sausage. On the drinks front, they don't have fountain drinks--only Boylan sodas. Sadly, no Diet Coke, but that was a very minor point. The service was amazing all night, and between the generous portions and all the different plates, we had plenty of leftovers to take home. They also have a smaller takeout location very close by if you can't get a reservation at the main restaurant. Overall: Al Basha absolutely lived up to the hype. Incredible Palestinian food, generous portions, warm service, and some seriously memorable falafel. Definitely worth the trip to Paterson.
