Centrally located and within walking distance to Alpine Slide (parking situation looked to be a disaster every time we drove by) and a 2 minute walk to Pine Knot Trail (highly recommend!!). The hot tub was a favorite as was shuffleboard. Kitchen stocked with everything you possibly need and the master bedroom bed was just as comfy as a Westin Heavenly Bed. We stayed here with teens and we all know it can be hard to please everyone in the family but we all agreed that this cabin was the best! We made wonderful memories here and we can't wait to go back. This is our THIRD time in four years staying here & there isn't a vacation getaway we'd rather stay at. Vacation 1: Our honeymoon! My wife & I stayed at the Treehouse for six nights & it couldn't have been a more romantic trip. From two complimentary wine baskets to recommendations on the best places to eat & hike, we truly felt welcome & special. Vacation 2: Ringing in the New Year. After our honeymoon, we raved about this place so much we made all of our family jealous. Right after the new year, ten of us came up for another six nights of skiing & snowboarding. The wolves at the zoo would howl at night & there was never a dull moment. Vacation 3: I'm leaving for deployment soon (Navy) & we decided to bring us & our three little ones to our favorite getaway. Only two nights, but everything is perfect. Can't beat eggs & bacon in those cast iron skillets! As I have said before, this review has always strictly been about the experience of the lack of customer service from the property manager, NOT the condition of the cabin. POST FROM - The Treehouse on Aspen Facebook: The Treehouse on Aspen has been the victim of bullies. A group of renters who rented online for OCTOBER somehow, showed up in January. When shown the online reservation form, they insisted that they never stayed at the cabin in October. A call to the housekeeper determined that no one had come on the weekend they had reserved. Unfortunately, the Treehouse was already rented for the weekend they showed up for as it is a very popular rental. A sheriff was called to remove the disgruntled non-renters from the property and protect the current renters. A full refund was given to the non-renters even though under the terms of agreement that was not necessary. The owners also personally contacted the person who made the booking, hoping to ease the situation that could have been a simple mistake when they booked online. Instead, the person who booked the cabin refused to speak with the owners, and the friends have launched an online bullying campaign against the Treehouse. On Yelp,on Facebook, and on their personal pages they are attempting to ruin the reputation of a house they have never stayed in and the owners with whom they refused to talk to. It is a shame that some choose to use the power of the Internet to bully, harass, and otherwise defame innocent parties. We are currently investigating whether this can be pursued legally for slander as we do have their October reservation, and none for January. I do wish to thank all of those who have been our guests and enjoyed the Treehouse. I'm sorry that any of you have to be subjected to the immaturity, vindictiveness, and spite of an unfortunate group of people who have chosen to turn a mistake into a vendetta rather than work with the owners to resolve it. I have decided to put the Reviews back on for the benefit of those who actually stayed in our cabin, and hope that they do not become even more vulgar. No matter what issues they may have had with the property manager, their refusal to speak with the owners who only wanted to make things better and destroy the business of said owners, is extremely sad and speaks volumes of their own character. Thank you all for all the good times with the Treehouse! ****MY RESPONSE The power of social media - I normally don't drag things out, but because the property manager herself posted with her personal profile lacking empathy of the situation (plus the donut comment? - see review and thread) and still defending her behavior - it just isn't right. Yes it did result to anger, yes it did make our blood boil, it's like dealing with a bigot who just DOESN'T get it, now we're "bullies" because we posted an HONEST review from OUR perspective - welcome to the internet, don't get in it unless you're ready to handle the good and the bad. Negative honest reviews online are not equal to online bullying. Majority of people from our group stayed in that cabin in 2012 so in fact we have stayed in that lovely spacious cabin, that's why we were extremely disappointed with the mistake. Disgruntled- we weren't "disgruntled" until the property manager drove off. Think about it, you're trying to figure out what happened in the situation, and the person you have to work with on this decides to angrily drive away? How would you feel? Glad Sherif Brandon was there to mediate the situation. Slander? We're not lying, we never said the house was bad, we never said the house was dirty, unlivable, etc. My review is purely on the experience that we had with said property manager. I only brought this to Yelp because the our reviews were deleted, as a consumer, I feel everyone should know both good and bad experiences. It seems to be that they NEVER received a negative comment until now and clearly don't know how to go about properly handling it. Our refusal to speak only occurred after we were literally insulted by the property manager via social media. This has been the most exhausting thread I've ever been involved with, but I guess what's done is done and some people just refuse to recognize personal opinions and experiences. Mericuh.

It was SO close, less than a 2min walk and we enjoyed watching the bikers come down the hill. Our little grandson had the best time on the bike track and trampoline at the ski resort. Lots of fun summer activities up there and a great bar for the adults! Cooking in was awesome as we sat in the beautiful back yard and barbecued, had cocktails and listened to the trees. Loved the big TV, comfy chairs, massage chair and PAC man:). Great extra large washer and dryer on both floors was a big plus for our family. Amazing king bed. Can't wait to return.

4 Seasons of Fun - Our 3-day stay at this cabin in Big Bear…read more Our goal was to spend 3 relaxing, fun-filled days in Big Bear where we could enjoy the sunny outdoors and 'chillax' in the comfortable INDOORS. That's exactly what our group experienced when we found ourselves in this beautiful, rustic mountain dwelling of a cabin that fulfilled --and exceeded-- our needs and expectations! Upon arrival, the first thing we noticed was the long wooden patio that ran across and around the cabin. Upon entering the log home, we were pleasantly surprised at HOW SPACIOUS the place was, with its open concept layout. The huge living room area has several sofas, a fireplace, a xmas tree (!), a flat screen TV. There is 1 large, spacious master bedroom w a large connecting 2-sink bathroom and shower. There are 2 other bedrooms (w/twin, full, and bunk beds) and 1 bathroom in the hallway with a huge bath/shower. All bathroom fixtures are modern and even stylish. The kitchen area is wide and open. As the designated cook for our first dinner there, I was especially intrigued to find such a well-stocked kitchen --not just with the standard glasses, dishes & utensils --but with plenty of pots/pans, cooking tools, bowls, appliances, cleaning supplies -even spices! The modern oven/stove and the huge modern refrigerator/freezer were a saving grace. I was able to make my spaghetti dinner quickly, made a big salad and baked some garlic toast simultaneously. It was a huge success and cleanup was super easy, like being at home. The décor is nice and rustic, with plenty of bears and pinecones to remind you, in case you'd forgotten, that you woke up in Big Bear. The place was VERY clean, the water pressure was great -- the cool was cool and the hot was hot. The beds and pillows were clean and comfortable. It's so nice and peaceful there...on our first night, we heard some munching sound outside our bedroom window. We suspected it was a possum nibbling on something...it was just so quiet outside at night, we slept great!! There is just one thing that -if it were left up to me to change--are the chairs in the dining table which, we found too bulky and heavy with its too-thick legs; the children in our group could not use them very well. But everything else....the Wi-fi, the waterfall spa....we spent much of our 3 days actually living and chillaxing in the cabin...and we could not be happier! Overall, we had such a FANTASTIC time at this cabin!! We were 3 small families and, never once, did it feel like we were in each other's way. We all said we couldn't wait to do it again! They are situated right next door to each other which makes a wonderful multi-family or group vacation. Chalet 1 sleeps 7 and has great amenities such as DVD, cable, wireless internet and phone. Both rooms upstairs have their own private bathroom! There is a large deck and pet friendly, fenced yard. Chalet 2 sleeps 6 and has the same amenities (no fenced yard) but it has a game room which is great for parents who want to relax but need to keep the kids busy! The cozy cabins are situated in a neighborhood 5 houses from the national forest so there is great hiking available and we saw many people going into the hills to snowshoe. Sugarloaf is close to the ski resorts but not so close that you have to deal with the traffic. This is a wonderful place to stay! We'll be back!
