Then another 2 and a half for dinner and we just ordered a salad, burger and pizza. The pizza was not bad but the salad had cold rubbery chicken and the sliders were bad. I dined at this restaurant while on a business trip and while staying at the Renaissance hotel. The sunset view from outside was really pretty. While I thoroughly enjoyed the ketel one moscow mule, the pretzel was incredibly salty and the service was so slow for there hardly being anyone inside. I waited over an hour for my pizza and at that point, it was cold and not worth it. TLDR - visit if you want a nice sunset view, a drink, or have limited options; going out of your way to visit us probably not worth it. read more

Came here when I was staying in the hotel for a couple days for work. The food was good, the drinks reasonable. The wednesday night service was very slow I ordered a drink and a pretzel app and closed out my tab. The drink came quickly, I asked about the pretzel after about 20 min and the guy (who hadn't taken my order) asked what my tab was under. About 3 minutes later my pretzel finally came out. The next night was way better! I went with a coworker and he seemed to know everyone and they took better care of us. Overall the highlight of the place really is the views. read more

Food was great but some of the workers probably should not be serving the public. Others were stellar. This was a private birthday event on December 10, 2022. I expected that the business would have put their best people forward. Servers were practically ripping plates of uneaten food away from event attendees. Coffee cups were being taken if you simply set the cups down to rest your hands. Probably not worth your money aside from the guy who was serving up the salmon. He deserves 5 stars. Service and food are always going to be inconsistent. It's a hotel after all. The bar gets crazy busy when it's nice out, and it's basically become a tourist trap overnight. They open at 4, which is crazy to me because they would do a killing during lunch and in the afternoon for business meetings. But hey, it's not my hotel! On one visit, we showed up at 4 and there was already a line waiting outside the door to get in. Seriously, this place is really popular. Why? It's entirely because of the view. Standing on the rooftop and looking out over Downtown Toledo, you can see all of the progress that is happening with Promedica's new home. You can visually put together all of the missing pieces and see the vision they had to move Downtown which is in many ways the reason this bar is open in the first place. The patio is a celebration of Toledo, and while I won't recommend you go out of your way for the food (it's good), it's a GREAT opportunity to pop in for a drink and get a health check on the current state of affairs of this fine city. read more

Atmosphere: very cool both indoors and outdoors. Outdoors has a great view and 3 fire pits for colder nights. I feel like if they added a few more out there, it would be perfect bc it was quite windy the night we were there so we ended up moving inside because there weren't enough seats by the fire. Indoors is also really well decorated, very modern and open. Service: also amazing. We threw several curve balls at them with moving indoors before paying for the drinks we got outdoors and slowly adding to our group which started at 4 people and ended up being about 15. Brandy was our server and she was noticed each time a new person came in and asked their drink order as soon as she could. Food: as great as the atmosphere and the service was, THE FOOD IS EVEN BETTER. My friends and I were in town for a wedding last weekend and still keep talking about this food. I got the lobster bites and poutine with a friend. The lobster bites had the perfect texture and were bigger than expected. The sauce (maybe gravy?) on the poutine was savory and amazing. Our other friend is an extremely picky eater but absolutely loved her ribeye skewers. Drinks: The T-town mule is refreshing, strong, and not that expensive. Why not 5 stars? honestly, my only ding was the price of the food. Very unique experience for the area! Excellent view from the top floor of the Renaissance Marriott but open to the public. Service was excellent and the lamb shank was amazing! The charred bread they serve with it for dipping will make you want to reach across the table and smack whoever you're dining with right across the face! It's a wonderful view, outsider in the dusk looking upon the river. We sampled a few of the cocktails, the orange cosmo was very tasty as was the grapefruit mule. The bbq egg roll was a table favorite but the chips blue cheese was ok. Everyone who ordered the Nashville chicken sandwich thought it was great! The spring salad was very pleasing with the chicken it was perfection. Our sever Bree was attentive and very good. The prices were high but I guess that's the hotel way. Super cool space sitting on the 19th floor of the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Toledo. Sweeping scenic views of the city (best seen at night). Inside space is large with a chic, industrial decor. I was here for a company event and we had a number of their shareable menu items, all we're good with a couple that were outstanding (dare I say maple-glazed pork belly bites!!). Excellent place to grab a drink, chew on some good food and conversation, and enjoy some great views of the city all in a comfortable atmosphere. read more

I checked this place out on a date in Toledo. Wasn't expecting to eat but I'm happy I did. My order consists of the pretzels bites, T-town Mule 2x, Dale Ale beer 2x, Vegetables pie, shrimp tacos, smoked chicken wings, and lobster bites. Everything ended up eaten amongst two of us. It was just so good. My favorite were the lobster bites, the vegetable pie (which was a party in my mouth) and smoked chicken wings. I wasn't too fond of the pretzel but my friend loved them and ate them all along with shrimp tacos. The service was also on point. I didn't have to ask for anything except the check. Which is a plus when I'm out and about. I will definitely come back this way if I'm ever near Toledo again. The date was trash but the food and service were amazing. This place is a marvelous bar/restaurant with great views, I've been there almost every night since I arrived in Toledo last weekend. It pains me to give them only 3 stars, but they have truly done their establishment a huge disservice in the form of a frustrating, incomprehensible late night policy: Kicking guests out by 1am, regardless of whether or not they are finished with their food/drinks. Lights were switched on to full at 12:30 sharp to get us moving. We had security guards come and tell us to finish up multiple times, starting before 1am when they officially close for the night. We were ultimately escorted out of the building by two security guards before we were able to finish our meals and drinks. We felt more like cattle than respected, loyal guests with a large, lucrative bar tab. For a thriving, hip and extremely popular bar to do this, they defy expectations by stiffing customers who are having a great time and send everyone out with a bad 'taste' in their mouth. It's a shame that they don't let themselves shine, as they are in every other regard of ambiance, food, drink and service, a truly top experience in downtown Toledo. Think on it, management? Upon arriving at our table on a beautiful Thursday evening, our table of four was greeted by a server with a terrible attitude. She had a frown on her face the whole time and her attitude was belittling but also uncomfortable. From the moment we sat down our group questioned if we did her wrong but just our presence being there that night. Being a sever myself, I understand some people have bad days but our mood (the four of us) turned quickly. We wanted to ask for a different server but would of felt terrible even though she was treating us poorly. The $50 per person prepay included one drink each, Chartutarie Board (no crackers, cheese & meat for 4) & dessert tray (this was VERY nice). We have been here many times and I have a 100000% favorite. Well we went last night and they have changed it and ewwww. Broke my heart!! The Poutine used to be INCREDIBLE. But they no longer use french fries- which it says on the menu! Now they use these potato medallions- and its not the same AT ALL. You get no salt vinegar flavor which was a huge part of the draw before. And the potato cuts were all over the place some were really think like had to take 3-4 bites just to eat one, and some were thin- which were much better. You could tell they were pan fried (which is why they lost the salt/vinegar flavor) then just covered in cheese. Such a major let down. You order fires and get this it hurts your heart! On a side note they now have Happy Hour which was GREAT! amazing cocktails and they use Toledo Spirits which was wonderful to see. Now if they would just use Libbey Glass!! I will say out of the 4 of the same drink we ordered it came a little different each time... for example one had a cherry the other 3 didn't, but the flavor was amazing when you let it chill and the ice to mix with it, when it came to the table it was warm and that was not good. read more

Decided to check out this place one evening for drinks and apps. The view was absolutely beautiful especially at sunset. The staff was super friendly and willing to help with all our dietary restrictions. My friends and I all enjoyed our drinks (would recommend the mule!) I ordered a side of cauliflower wings which were ok, they could have been a bit more crispy and more flavoring. It's a quite large establishment; please note, parking is about the same price as the pizza; my suggestion park somewhere off the establishment. Treat yourself to their house on flatbread pre-pizza; yes it's expensive; which is why I suggest treating yourself! You'll be looking directly outside of the building which is made out of glass! This creates an amazing impression upon you in the evening time. The seating arrangements are very: two seated tables, for seated tables, and arrangement of tables along the wall so that they can be combined! And then, there's always the bar which is like an oval shape! I love the bathroom; when you wash your hands at the sink you can see parts of the person in the opposite bathroom washing their hands! That might put some pressure on some men... I did find at least one waiter that was helpful; sometimes that's all you need is one waiter that is friendly, and considerate. Fantastic Happy Hour offerings and a great menu. Had the brisket pie tonight and it was super good. Great BBQ sauce, and the brisket was very well seasoned. Would recommend the I-75 cocktail from their Happy Hour menu for sure! The atmosphere is very cool with a beautiful view of the Maumee River and downtown Toledo. Parking is a bit tough, but with being inside of a hotel it seems to be a little bit expected. Valet is an option if you are willing to pay, but there are parking garages nearby. Definitely will be back to try more of the food menu and drinks! read more

I really wanted to like The Heights, but I was extremely disappointed. As we entered (5:30 Monday evening) , the host gave us a menu, and said nothing. We were thinking someone would welcome us & seat us. But no luck. Every employee that we saw was wearing "street clothes", and looked like they just crawled out of bed. Greasy faces, and uncombed hair. No one was friendly, no one made our experience pleasurable. The food and drinks are "ok", but very pricey. The restaurant had a great view, but the windows were filthy. Poor management at The Heights will be the demise to another Toledo restaurant. Epic Fail! read more

Ok. We are not the biggest City in the Midwest. We are not the hippest City in the Midwest. What we have is lots of effort. This rooftop bar is an example of all of this. Add to that the great bar manager Josh and the great waitress Danielle and you have one of the hottest, best bar/restaurants in Toledo. And the food...is exceptional. Anything from small bites to their wood fired pizza. And the best is their Lentil Hummus. You have to try it. So good! Do this hot spot in Toledo. Sit outside by the fireplaces. Watch the outdoor tv or watch the sunset over the Muddy Maumee River! Do it! Now! Ok. We were here many times this past summer. Now we came in the middle of winter. We got there just in time - before the crowd showed up going to the Little Big Town concert! So lucky. Got a seat at the bar. Bartender Extraordinaire Ben Masternak made sure we were promptly waited on and he even checked with the Pizza master to make sure the wood fired oven was a go! We had the fantastic Lentil Hummus.
