    Huevos rancheros

I haven't been here in a lot of years. I wanted to see if maybe the food would have improved it. We ordered the chicken and waffles and huevos rancheros, we were seated quickly, and the waitress was just fine. Nothing particular spectacular about the chicken waffles. Just basically chicken fingers on top of some waffles. My wife told me that the huevos rancheros were OK nothing to write home about. If you're coming here for dinner just or lunch it'll do the job but don't expect too much. It's just one of those mediocre places that'll get it done.

Our recent visit to The Heights was absolutely worth it. My wife ordered the short rib dinner with mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables, and everything was cooked perfectly with amazing flavor. I had the Better Bacon Wedge, which was fresh, crisp, and loaded with flavor. We also shared the Elote Dip, and it was the perfect starter. Great food, relaxing atmosphere, and excellent service. Definitely looking forward to coming back!

The Heights is a great local spot in Upland where you can come for a date night, a girls night, host a group dinner, or enjoy some beers at the bar. We come here about once a month when craving a nice meal out, they have a good drink menu, variety of appetizers and entrees- something for everyone. The prices are reasonable and it's a nicer place than chain restaurants like chilis or Septembers. Highly recommend it here

We were doing a leisure activity in Upland and thought we'd try a new place for us in the area. The Heights is on the outskirts of a shopping center and has a neighborhood bar and grill feel. They have outdoor patio seating, bar seating, and dining room seating. They have happy hour food specials every day from 2pm to 5pm. We were greeted by our server Ethan who took good care of us. They have a good drink and wine menu. I ordered a glass of Austin Hope cab since I knew I would be having a steak and my girlfriend ordered the Pearly Legal cocktail. Her drink was served in a water glass which was a little underwhelming and she didn't realize the cider was carbonated but she said it was ok. We started with the Ahi Tuna cocktail appetizer. The ahi being served in a bar glass was a little hokey but it had great flavor with the soy based marinade and avocado chunks. For my entrée, I ordered the ribeye with double veggies. It was cooked a perfect medium rare and had a great grilled flavor. The veggies were fresh and not frozen. She ordered the buffalo chicken salad. Aside from bacon that was slightly little undercooked, she enjoyed it.

I was getting my hair done and my stylist recommended The Heights for lunch. I was immediately welcomed when I walked in and really took to the "chill" yet classy decor. Since I was alone, I just sat at the bar. Mandy took such great care of me and was an absolute delight, with the best personality. They have a great selection of salads, which is what I was in the mood for on such a hot day. And the sparkling Rosè wine was on special. WIN! My steak salad was absolutely delicious and fresh. The steak was perfectly seasoned and melted-in-your-mouth amazing. I will probably make this my go-to spot after all of my hair appointments (and for Happy Hour with friends).

    Nachos

Western Burger was good!! Super thick patty, came out super hot. I only ate half and my husband at the whole thing and he was full. Nachos were pretty filling. Service was kinda slow, but that was the the whole environment. Slow quiet place.

My wife and I took the day off from work, ran some errands in the morning and decided to stop by this Eureka location for lunch and we were well received! The ambiance was very chill and laid back-there were not many people when we got there, but before we left the place was getting packed! We had the fried Mac n cheese balls, my wife had the Al pastor fish tacos and I had the Eureka American! Packed with flavor, the two entrees and appetizer were great and complimented each other well. My friends and I summarize this restaurant as being "great for apps and cocktails" and not the best for dinner. It's sort of in a tucked away location. I nearly walked into Gus's BBQ because I missed the sign pointing to the Whisper House entrance. Plenty of free street and structure parking in downtown Claremont since it's a college town. With Diane in tow, we were pleased that a large parking lot was directly across the street from the restaurant. And as we entered and were seated in a booth in the bar area, an elegant but understated woodsy ambiance greeted us. Wanting to sample a cross-section of offerings, we began our dinner with soup and salad. Diane liked her bowl of orange-hued Lobster Bisque, and I enjoyed my bowl of hot and angry-red Garden Tomato Soup and salad of Field Greens with multi-colored Grape Tomatoes. Flatbread smeared with Herb Butter was very good, as well. A few Grilled Sea Scallops were warm and sizable enough as an appetizer, in addition to a side skewer of fairly large and tasty Grilled Shrimps. And Diane and I both raved about our chosen entree of Ginger-Sesame Glazed Chilean Sea Bass. The fish was flaky and cooked perfectly--in the league of the best we have ever had. At first I was disappointed that the restaurant was out of requested Tartar Sauce. But it soon became apparent that none was needed. A bed of Rice Pilaf served as a soft base for the fish for me, and Diane had Yukon Mashed Potatoes fulfill the same purpose for her chosen main. Specially requested French Fries were also gladly prepared by the chef. The skin-on variety, they were soft on the inside and okay overall. Throughout the course of the meal we received excellent multi-person service, led by our principal server, Marie. We expect to return for more of that wonderful Sea Bass. XXXX-1/2 stars overall for this initial outing!
