Found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. It had high reviews, so why not. We sat outside because it was a beautiful day. These little restaurants in downtown Chandler are high on the ambiance scale, but that's about it. The menu is literally one page. I wish they had a little more selection. I would've like to have ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, but all they had was fried. Hubby got the duck sandwich. Both served with fries and very, very greasy. Service was slow, food average, and we had no table settings even after we were served. If you just go for a drink it's probably nice, but I wouldn't recommend the food. Also, if you aren't fond of bees, you're going to want to sit inside. I think there is a lot of potential here, but right now the ambiance isn't enough to bring me back. read more

Cute spot tucked in downtown Chandler. It was too chilly to sit on the patio so I will definitely be back. Very elevated and intimate feeling. The servers were great and offered a lot of suggestions. The cocktail menu is cool and all the drinks are based in decades. The butter board was an incredible mix of cheeses, jam, and butter;fire. I got the seafood paella and enjoyed the orzo! my daughter loves this restaurant, and after dining here I see why. celebrating a house purchase in arizona and moms day celebration, we were seated in the dining area in the back, casual elegance and the wait staff was fantastic. the brisket rage was good, however the duck confit sandwich looked much better, and my daughter and son in law had the duck and said it was delicious, wife had the salmon which was also delicious. this place needs to be visited while in chandler and definitely on your places to frequent if a resident. read more

Been wanting to try this place for a while now and was left a little disappointed..we came for Fathers Day to celebrate and everything fell short. The seating was tight and each chair was right on top of the other. Appetizer we had the shrimp that was nice, we ordered basic drinks, ice tea, lemonade what they didn't tell us was there were no refills, which is fine but come to our surprise when we see all that refill charges on the bill with no heads up. I had the filet and for over $50 I would expect it to be cooked as I requested it. Medium rare. The cut of meat came cut in half (never seen this done before) and looked pretty charred and the temperature was definitely more medium/well. I just ate it since I didn't wanna wait for a re-fire. Needless to say probably won't be returning. And it wasn't busy at all so it's not like there was a rush to get things to us. read more

I was tasked to find a venue for my best friend's 40th birthday brunch. I had never been to The Hidden House but I called ahead to see if they could accommodate. I reached Katya who offered superb customer service and incredible accommodation for us at no additional cost. She was so kind and lovely. Over the phone she let us know our options. I told her I didn't have the budget to reserve a private event space so she offered the back room and said they would accommodate us in a somewhat private area at no additional cost. I made the reservation, easily over the phone for eight people, including a toddler and a baby. She said because it was such an important celebration that she would bring over our complimentary glasses of Cava for the celebration. Upon arrival, we were able to seek parking, easily in their free parking lot. It was a quick walk over to the restaurant itself. The place is, you guessed it a house converted into a restaurant. It is much bigger than it appears from the outside. You walk in and there is outdoor dining in their garden area. There is an indoor outdoor bar, that leads into the indoor dining room/seating. If you continue to walk, you will be outside again with additional outdoor seating and then all the way in the back is where we sat. Beautiful, big barn doors, and even a stage in the back. Incredibly unique and intricate light fixtures, high ceilings, we were inside, but the barn doors were open so we had a beautiful breeze and the sunlight seeping in. We were greeted, immediately by our server, Riley, who did a great job in providing us with everything we needed. We ordered a few appetizers, cocktails, and sandwiches. I ordered the turkey melt, and it was delicious. Their portions are gigantic, definitely shareable. They allowed us to bring an outside batch of cupcakes, which I made sure of before we arrived, and even served them to us! Overall, this experience far exceeded my expectations. The place itself is lovely and I would definitely return for just about any occasion. The service is impeccable. It's a great place to celebrate just about any occasion. If you do, I recommend going to Katya because she will hook you up! The food is delicious. The cocktail menu is awesome because it's all of the classics. This place has an A+ in my book. This review is really about the cocktail menu which needs to be given credit. This is one of the best cocktail menus in town for classic recipes. There is a reason these drinks have been around for decades and I appreciate they are keeping them alive. I had a "Three Dots & A Dash" which would raise the eyebrow on any Tiki aficionado. Incredible food, service and atmosphere can all be found at The Hidden House! This was our first time back in a couple of years, but as expected, we had an incredible evening! The servers are always very attentive, knowledgeable and helpful! Zach was our server last night and was awesome!! We got the creamy bacon soup (not pictured) and house salad (not pictured) to start. Followed by the duck confit pasta - my gosh this was amazing! A bit heavy but yummmmmy - and the filet mignon - wowza! The potato cheese croquette was the perfect pairing and a unique side. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone - and specifically a great spot for celebrations, business dinners, date nights, etc. We celebrated our wedding anniversary last night and will definitely return again! read more

I took my parents here while visiting from out of town and thought this was a good dining experience. We enjoyed sitting outside with the trees/bistro lights and the heaters when I got a little cooler. While it was busy on a Saturday night, the ambiance was still peaceful! For drinks, I had asked the waitress about non-alcoholic drink options and she said that while they're not listed on the menu, the bartender can make anything. She suggested I just give a desired flavor profile so I said "tart". It was delicious! If I'm not going to have alcohol, I would generally rather not have a drink at all, but I did enjoy this one. My mom and I wanted to split the kale salad and they were nice to split it into two bowls. This salad was very good! Loved the crispy prosciutto and goat cheese, and the dressing was light/refreshing. Everyone's entrees were good but nothing amazing. I thought my duck confit Alfredo was a little bland, and my mom's lamb backstrap was a little overcooked. My dad got the braised short rib, which was good in itself but had an interesting sauce combination. Our wait staff was very nice and did a good job keeping an eye on us but not being over-bearing, and did a nice job pacing out our meal. Overall this was about on par for the price point. read more

This place was very cute and subtle for being in downtown chandler. We came here just for a couple drinks at the bar area. The bar is kinda small but my group still fit within the corner. The bartenders were all friendly and answered all our questions quickly and knowledgeably. The menus they have are super cute too! Me and my mom got a blue Hawaiian (pictured) which was amazing. The bartender recommended it when we asked what was sweet. We didn't try any food this time as they were booked for dinner reservations. However, I would like to come back to see what they have. Ate here for the first time tonight, for Father's Day, and we will not be back. First, I made a reservation for 8:30, which was unknowingly close to close and we were being rushed the entire time. I get if we just walked in, but I just made a reservation through opentable for a time that was available to them. Had I know we were going to be rushed I would have chosen somewhere else to go. Then, we ordered two drinks which were okay, no complaints. Then two appetizers, Brussels sprouts and the gorditas. Those were both pretty good, but personally I think could have used a little more flavor. Our mains were the crab linguine and king salmon. The crab linguine was okay, but was lacking both sauce and flavor, overall not horrible but still lackluster. The king salmon was unseasoned salmon in water basically. I would have sent the king salmon back but when I came out from the restroom all of our food was packed up to go because my boyfriend felt too uncomfortable with the way he was being rushed. We also got a dessert to go but I haven't even tasted it as we're currently on our drive home from there. So overall it was a pretty horrible experience and I feel horrible taking my boyfriend here for such a special day. read more

My salmon dinner was delicious! Everyone at our table of 9 people enjoyed their food, however when it came time to pay, our waiter told us he could only accept a maximum of 4 credit cards from our table. Now that's a very ODD policy. Some people had 2 or 3 drinks, some had none. Some had just a salad, some had a full meal. How in the world do you split a bill fairly when our dinners/drinks were all so different. This policy of only taking 4 credit cards for a larger party left us with a bit of a bad impression of Hidden House. Could a manager please look into this? read more

My husband and I have been eyeing this place for a while and decided to try it for our anniversary. We made a reservation for a Saturday night which I highly recommend, as I saw 4-5 parties turned away. We requested to be seated outside and sure glad we did. The patio area was beautiful with the strung lights and candlelit tables. Overall it was a romantic and beautiful ambiance. Our waitress was very kind and attentive. She answered all questions we had and even made some recommendations when ordering. The shishito peppers were plentiful but lacked flavor. The baby potatoes were absolutely delicious and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his filet. It's rare that his filet is cooked as ordered, and he was very pleased. The brussel sprouts were a bit lackluster and little to no bacon was present. My lamb was pretty good and the squash and chickpeas could've used a bit more seasoning. The food is a bit overpriced for what it is. However, the overall dining experience was pleasant, and we may be back to give lunch a whirl. Overall, we would recommend The Hidden House read more

3.5 stars Everything was good but really expensive. Not sure the price was worth it. The server was very knowledgeable & friendly. Really enjoyed the shishito peppers. It's fun seeing who got the spicy ones. My fillet was delicious as any good $45 steak should be. The paella also had really good scallops and perfect flavor. But to pay $46 for a individual plate is crazy. In other major cities you can get enough to share with the table for that price and there was no socarrat (burnt bottom parts of the rice). The cherries in my drink was a good addition. I would skip the tiramisu. Would definitely give this place 4 stars if the prices were a tad bit cheaper. read more

Tochi, our server, first recommended a staple in the menu. I asked her about the fried frog legs and to my avail, she was very true and descriptive on the non-traditional appetizer. I went for it and the aguachile as well. I noticed as I was waiting for my guest, that several other diners ordered this very appealing dish. We sat in the indoor patio where we were protected from winds. In fact, they are scheduled for rain but it was very nice set up with great vibes in the back!!! Tyler, G.M. Also came by our table to check on us and we were delighted about our opinion on the "aguachile" Blue corn chips adorn the softly cooked shrimp along a nice touch of shaved fennel and it was different than what I am used to. Aguachile, means "spicy-water " with a heavy citrus flavor. I did not receive that pungent flavor and we discussed it with Tyler! Super grateful and thankful he stopped by to talk about his dish... I'd heard many good things about The Hidden House - great food, cocktails, and the ambiance. When some family were visiting this year to celebrate a graduation, my mom and aunt made sure to make a reservation here for our crew as a positive ending to our time together. My mom and her BF and my aunt/uncle have separately eaten at Hidden House and enjoyed themselves previously, so it sounded like a win-win for all. With whomever my mom spoke with on the phone to make the reservation guaranteed that we would have a table with some airflow/open-air for our out-of-state visitors. I arrived early since downtown dinnertime parking is hit or miss and I wanted to try a cocktail or two before the family arrived. The cute bartender gave me their beautiful cocktail book/menu and kept replenishing my water glass. Nothing particularly stood out to me, so he offered to make something off the book based on my vodka/gin preference. You know you've got a good bartender when they can create something off-the-cuff based on a few preferences. We got sat in the covered space in-between the two restaurant spaces. The misters/fans were blowing which made it bearable for all. Unfortunately at some point in-between appetizers and main course, they were turned off. Both my mom and one of my aunts kindly asked our meh server (he had a 'meh' attitude about him) a few times if it could be turned on as there was no air circulation without the misters and every time denied our request. That poor attitude towards our group (and the managers ignoring us) made us try to expedite our tails out of there, unfortunately. While I enjoyed my meal, the general consensus was that the portions seemed small for the price - smaller than the last time my family had eaten there. My aunt and uncle specifically got surf and turf to share, but the surf was a measly 4 shrimp. One of my cousins ordered a seafood pasta bowl and our server failed to tell him that one of the seafood in the bowl had been 86'd for the night. No extra of the other seafood was provided as a "sorry". What could've been a really nice evening out ended on a sour note due to how our family was treated. read more

Impeccable! The atmosphere and the vibes are on point. We are transported once we entered this restaurant. I loved the tiki torches and the different phases. When you first walk in there is an outdoor seating that was cozy and romantic, next was the inside seating where it was bright but still intimate, next was another outdoor seating, where we were seated, and finally a barn turn modern space is the last phase of this restaurant - this area had high ceiling with a stage for live music - think posh and sophisticated. The design was very intentional and inspired our entire experience. Service was outstanding! I wish I could remember who our waiter was but he was professional and gave great recommendations for entire course. It was apparent how knowledgeable of each menu item and we appreciated his honesty with certain dishes and drinks. The real reason we will come back to this place and tell all of our friends and family is that the food is amazing. I love a restaurant that makes my dish delish but also convinces me that I need to try other dish. I've done many yelp reviews and very few have done this to me. The live music was perfect. We sat at the back of the restaurant and they began closing down early, closing doors, clearing tables, and pressuring us to pay and get out. Showed up here with my family of four and the two young girls turned us away... claimed no walks could be taken due to the over flow from valentines day.. there were a ton of open tables. I counted 7 - tow of which needed to be cleaned just on the patio. Something didn't seem right about that... sure enough, I went on to open table. There were a ton do reservations available this evening... in fact I was easily able to book a 6:45...10 minutes after we showed up and were refused. Booked it just to be sure...yes, I canceled. After circling the block once , I was able to find a street side parking. I was greeted with a friendly smile and was directed to my reserved table. They recently updated the menu. First time we visited this place about a year ago it was pretty good. This last visit was rough! Wife's salmon was waay over cooked. Opted to try pork chop instead, also over cooked. Shishito peppers weren't that great. Buss boy dropped a glass of water and it splashed all over my wife's back and in my face. Likely dropped it bc everyone is flying around like crazy. Table cloths are too long and hung over my knees. And finally, with an outside temp of about 90° they decided that was cool enough to open the front doors. We quickly became too warm. read more
