I wanted to try something new and heard about this place. I got there, parking is limited so I was luck I found a spot along the road. Found a spot at the bar on the water. It does look like a dive bar. The bartender/server was a great help to see what to order. I decided to get the Bavarian meatballs. I was expecting multiple small meatballs in a sauce. When it came, I was pleased to see it is two huge meatballs covered in a mushroom sauce. Great flavor, reminds me of homemade Salisbury Steak. The spaetzel as a side was very good compliment to the meatballs. After I finished the meal, I stained a while enjoying the cool breeze off the water. Great atmosphere. Food was just ok. We had the potato pancakes to start. They were nothing special. I had the bravarian meatballs with cream sauce and spaetzle for dinner. It tasted like frozen Salisbury steak and bland noodles. I was really disappointed bc I had heard good things about this restaurant. My friend had the curry wurst and fries. She said it tasted like hot dogs although she liked the sauce. I'd go back but just for drinks and the live music. read more

I have been eating here for years, the view is amazing. The servers are kind. The food is delicious! I love this Port St. Lucie hidden gem.

We just moved to Jensen Beach and we are so happy we found this place! The bartender, Kyla, is so friendly and welcoming! There's a busser, Angela, that is so friendly and such a hard worker! You don't need to lose her! Make her a server! On another visit, we had one bartender, Alaura. She was not very friendly until she brought the bill and then she whipped out the sweetness hoping to get a good tip. Alaura seemed to be very clicky and was friendly to the people she knew, but not welcoming to people she didn't know. The food was very good! We will definitely be back. If you are dining inside, there is no AC and the door is left open so that you hear/see all the cars going by and feel the exhaust fumes and heat coming in. I ordered the chicken BLT and it must have been sitting for awhile. The bread was cold, cheese melted but still unappetizing. Asked for German potato salad for a side. Well, it tasted kind of like German potato salad but there was no onion or bacon and it was served cold. My dining partner had the bratwurst platter, which wasn't that great either. read more

I was a bit intimidated going into the restaurant, as it was dark and dingy looking from the outside. My husband and I sat outside and the view was beautiful, and even thought it was a very humid and hot day the patio stayed a comfortable temperature. I ordered the chicken Jager schnitzel with came with red cabbage and potato salad($16.95). The chicken was amazingly crisp and delicious, and the red cabbage was also delicious, I was expecting it to be a little more bland, and found it to be my favorite thing I had eaten in a while. My husband ordered the bratwurst with potato salad. He loved the actual brat, it was perfectly cooked and tender at the same time, he was not a fan of the sauerkraut as it wasn't very flavorful and the bread of the brat was a bit hard. Service was good, with timely refills. We were very happy with the experience, and will absolutely try again. Don't let the front fool you, this place is a gem. read more

My wife and I stumbled on this restaurant by accident on February 6, 2017. We sat out on the deck and enjoyed our beverages and the view. We both ordered the Bratwurst entree that included 2 nicely grilled Bratwursts, sauerkraut , and some wonderful German potatoes. We both enjoyed our dinners, and thought the German food was authentic, and the Bitburger draft was to my liking! Bitburger, by the way is the number 1 draft beir in Germany. Our server, Heather was great. So we liked this restaurant so much we came back again two days later with two friends of ours. We sat outside again on the festive little deck, and had drinks and dinner. I had the same Bratwurst entree, as did one of our friends. My wife had the pork Schnitzel dinner and she loved it! Her portion of Schnitzel was so large she could only eat half! Our other friend ordered the fish tacos and loved them. We were taken great care of again by our server Heather! So if you are looking for some great authentic German food, good drinks, great view, and great service this is the place. There are also lots of non-German entrees on the menu for you to choose from. The only negatives for me was that smoking is allowed outside on the deck, and the indoor seating option was not enticing to me. read more

We started with the pretzel was it was delicious and not super pretzel or restaurant depot. Tasted authentic. The three of us had the wiener schnitzel and it was crispy and not tough. The sides were delicious. But wish there were more and not in a plastic cup. The draft beers could have been colder. The view- terrific on the water over looking the water and bridge. Last two visits the service has been really bad. You have to wait so long for the waitress. I can easily drink three beers with my meal but I can only order one. Be ready to wait a very very long time for your food! The location is beautiful because it's right on the water but if it's a rainy day it's not really worth the wait for the food which can vary between average and great. The waitresses also vary but from outright rude to good. The owners are German so the potato salad and Wienerschnitzel are truly authentic and the potato pancakes are delicious. Be careful when ordering the bratwurst; you MUST indicate on a bun if that's what you want because otherwise you'll be in for a rude awakening. read more

A German restaurant in Jensen Beach, how did I not know after owning in area for the past 10 years? Had a hankering for German food, searched Yelp in West Palm, and found this instead. Went for dinner on a windy night so decided to eat in empty inside dining room instead of outside on deck where it was windy, loud, and customers were smoking. Was seated by the nicest and knowledgeable waitress I have met in a long time who knew everything about the menu and was passionate about it. I started off with a proper German light lager with the piping hot salty, chewy, and dense Bavarian Pretzel of the God's served with a spot on beer stout cheese, hello I was happy. Then had their signature huge pork schnitzel, pounded thin, well seasoned and crispy, served with 5 star red cabbage, German potato salad and creamed mushroom gravy, all properly accented the entire meal. My German in-laws would be proud if they knew how good this food was, it was so good, I might go back today for the burger! Yes sir, this place rocks. read more

What an incredible disappointment after hearing such glowing reviews! Had made reservations as there were quite a few of us, and when we got there, no table was ready. The service was terrible. The wait time, just for appetizers, was ridiculous! When we ordered, they were "out" of several things! On Mother's Day weekend? One in our party ordered the pretzel. It came out hard, impossible to break with your hands, even a knife didn't work very well. We said something, they got us another pretzel, which was warm on the outside but frozen on the inside! No one in our party was particularly happy with the entrees. I will never go back, and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone! read more

Came to get away from the stress of the world with a nice view of the water and a a beautiful breeze. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. This time around. When we arrived, it took us at leat 10 minutes to be acknowledged. Afterwards, we ordered our food(the did not have my wife's favorite dish) leaving her in a not so event mood. With a view of the water, I wish the music matched the mood, since they went heavy with DJ house music! Our waitress could have done better checking up on us, and it was not as busy as it appeared. Was there on the weekend and they were actually two real German couples speaking German who waited more than 40 minutes for a girl to even walk up to them and say do you need some thing now granted the power was out for a bit but nobody walked up to them we walked over to their area got one beer and some water and the waitress that was covered in that area went over to them and said did you order yet and the older lady with the German accent said no one came to us yet. The food is really good here. As good or better as any similar bar restaurant. The location is great. Right on the river Down side is just a little parking issues and service The Hoffman is always slow. If service is important don't go there. If food and a breeze and a relaxed atmosphere ( after you wait for service and food) is important is important you'll be a repeat customer read more

My girlfriend and I had the pork schnitzel and red cabbage. It's consistently delicious and we love coming here for it. Our server Naomi was friendly and professional. Be sure to bring a light jacket or a sweater during the winter months as it gets a little cool and breezy if you're dining outside on the water. Otherwise, dine indoors. The atmosphere inside is simple and clean. This is the Christmas season and the Christmas tree is tall, beautiful and real but lacks a pickle ornament in the German tradition. Found our new hideaway. We have been here when it was the happy snapper and the Hoffman is definitely a well needed upgrade. The food is out of this world, fresh beef on the classic burger cooked to perfection and the home made potato salad is phenomenal. I was up in this area for work and decided to treat myself for a unique lunch. I do you like German food and I saw the reviews on yelp and figured I'd give it a try. Very quaint little place right on the intercoastal. They have a nice deck in on the back to sit at tables and they also have an open air bar. Decided to go with the chicken schnitzel. The portions are huge. You can literally share this with someone. The bartender was very friendly and took care of me. They also have a daily happy hour from 2 to 6 PM. My food was absolutely delicious it also came with red cabbage and German potato salad and a very unique mushroom sauce to dip the chicken in. Needless to say I'm coming home with leftovers. They also have all the other German food people like bratwurst, potato pancakes. I took a picture of the entire menu so check it out.
