So sorry to put a less than 5 stars. We have come to eat breakfast here forever years. It was wonderful diner vibe. Great food and service. Prices couldn't be beat. Menus changes... ok. Prices changes... to be expected. Then food changes. The ham steaks have become large pieces of fried spam. Coffee is now weak. Biscuits and gravy now lacking. My tomatoes had the core sliced too. Food is very good as is service. However cut in hours open means I rarely get there anymore.

I have been going here for two years, and they have made changes in a bad way. The food got bad, prices went up, and if you pay by card, then you are hit with a 3 percent service fee for using your card with no warning. If you want a good local place to eat. Go to Grandma Sally's. They kept their prices low and put sighs on the tables, announcing the 3 percent charge when you use your card. And they have really good food. read more

My wife and I just returned from breakfast and everything was AMAZING! All the food was cooked to perfection. Eggs over easy, toast, hash browns. My wife purchased the country skillet which I tried and cannot wait to return and order that next time. I even ordered a pancake for myself to top it all off, and I am a pancake connoisseur. Let me just say the pancake was the best I ever had. If you love pancakes this is the place for you. You will not be disappointed. Host was awesome, the waitress was great, and I told the cook I wanted to kiss him. He offered, but I declined, so I gave him a $5 tip instead. I am sure dinner is great there also. Definitely a hole in the wall. The google reviews made me want to give it a try. I really really wanted to like this place. I ordered the "Frisco melt," which is a patty melt on sourdough toast with grilled onions and 1000 island. I asked then to smash my burger because I'm not a fan of a big patty. My meal came out, and the bread was burnt. The patty was thick, and there were no grilled onions. The server was happy to replace it. It came out much better, but still no onions... she brought me some grilled onions, but I was so full I only ate half the melt. The bread was so soggy after only a short time, and the fries were underdone and not good. My bf got a BLT club, which was sloppily assembled and overly saturated with mayo. There was also a little kid who was following around the server, and she was allowing him to bring drinks to tables, and his face was a little too close to the cups imo. I was fully prepared to pay for my melt and move along, but the server proactively comped my sandwich cause she could tell I didn't like it, but I wasn't trying to be a bother. She gets points for that. She was also working alone, and she did a great job still. I would give them another Try sometime, but I was not impressed . Maybe breakfast is better. read more

We walked in on a Sunday afternoon. A few tables were busy, but a lot were open. Three or four waitresses were on duty, though I think one had just been cut as she told us to seat ourselves and someone would be with us soon. Cue no one coming to us for a while and that same waitress asking the others if they'd seen to us, when they all said no, she sent one of the other girls over to us, this girl was very sweet, had lovely tattoos and was very efficient. We placed our orders for Bacon Cheese burgers, one with a side of fries and the other with onion rings. I got coke, the husbeast got unsweet iced tea. The food came out quickly, and was tasty, cooked like we asked. Over all, I'd say the place is ok. I'd probably come back. I'm not sure if they're open during this Covid-19 outbreak, or if they're just doing take away, but I always try to support local business first over chains. read more

The food was good, our waitress was very sweet. They have problems with staff they sit in the back and talk loudly to where customers can here. They tried to lock the doors to stop people from coming in rather then explaining they were busy. Locking the doors with customers and no other exit at the front of the house is a huge fire and safety violation. Tables left dirty while they complained to one another. read more

I just can't get over how someone can't follow instructions. I ordered delivery got a few things, biscuits and gravy (deff not getting it again biscuits just broke apart wouldn't even stay together just crumbled! And the gravy ... no thank you). The silver dollar pancakes takes like they were made from a powder, not fresh. I asked for key lime pie if not call me, PSHHH they didn't care they just threw in an apple pie. Well guess who can't eat apples?! Which is why I asked to call me if anything... nope. They don't care which is sad bc in this business you should care what kind of food quality you're putting out there. And let me just tell you the fried bologna sandwich, description says on rye bread ok so I asked anything but rye!! (I cannot have seeds) Wel I got a soggy rye sandwich with 3 tablespoons of mayo, no mustard like it says and 2 slices of bologna. Are you kidding?! Straight to the trash!! What a waste of money here. He belongs in a 5-star luxury restaurant cooking. He deserves more $$$ and hours for what he does perfectly. His is exquisite. He is #1 fastest cook and has the ability to serve hot delicious food in a timely manner. I hope the owners do everything in their power to keep him and never let him go. He has a family to provide for so PLEASE step up to the plate and appreciate! *Cathy (Food Server, Cook, Trainer, Jane of All Trades) THE BEST!!! She is a fierce worker. She is quicker than the eyes can keep up with her. She is the quickest server this side of the Gulf of Mexico! Her training skills is On-Point! This restaurant is horrible! worse in the area! Service is horrible. Never busy. Owner says that the restaurant is always busy, which is 100% a lie!! Since they have been open, and only a few years, there is never ever more than 5 tables at once!! Maybe on Fridays and Saturday nights, when the Stockyard country bar closes, they might get a little busy with the drunks! When someone writes a bad review, he always writes back very derogatory, which is extremely unprofessional as a business owner. Nothing should ever be said except "sorry" and please contact me, and we will do something for you the next time you come back!! That is how a restaurant owner/manager should reply!! Never against anyone's review, whether good or bad! They do things that are not sanitary at all! I am surprised they are still open. The staff was very friendly. We did not have any issues with being ignored. That being said our meal was just average. Nothing really "wow'd" us flavor wise. I do hope they survive the pandemic because I pull for these small businesses! We will need to give it another try though soon. read more

We moved to the area a couple months ago and have ordered takeout from here many times. Usually dinner once and breakfast on Saturday morning. Everything has been excellent and the prices are great! Employees are friendly and always have our order correct. They noticed my husband was military and offered a veteran discount. I love supporting small businesses, even better when they show their love for our service men and women. The Holiday House does it right! I've been here three or four times because it's close to my neighborhood. Every time I eat in, everything is great. Every time I order to go, which is twice, something goes terribly wrong with my order. The first time, they forgot to "fire" my order, which I guess means, start cooking it? The second time which was today, they gave my order away, thinking it was someone else's. So I had to wait for that one to get cooked. But the food is still cheaper than eating at a fast food restaurant nowadays so I guess order with DoorDash or an online service, or walk in and order to go. I have been to the holiday house more times than I can count and it's been a great experience every time. They have a burger called the rodeo burger,it's amazing. The cooks know there temps on burgers,that's for sure. I like Medium rare and it's that every time no matter who cooks it. I could ramble on about how great the food is,but you need to come try it for yourself. The wait staff really knows how to take care of you and make you feel right at home. It is an unassuming little place that harkens back to the good old days of small cafes and family owned diners. The difference is the decor is up to date and it is spotless and the food is excellent. We both had burgers and they were done exactly as we like them and were out very quickly. The staff and our waitress were so sweet and very attentive and we enjoyed our dinner very much. I had the Chicken Fried Steak with potato salad and broccoli and everything was cooked to perfection. My husband had the Chef Salad which was fresh and delicious and a generous portion.
