I will drive by the Lapeer Rd store (which is closer to my house in Oxford) for one simple reason; employee attitude. From the time we arrive we were greeted and welcomed by not one, two or three but more employees and it didn't stop there. Went into the lumber area and actually greeted by and assisted us in not only cutting the straps of fresh wood to loading it on our dolly to take to the cutting area. Where another associate was there to assist in the cuts we needed and reload the wood. Best service of any Home Depot around. One note, I am a Pro member and sometimes have to visit other Home Depots, this place is the best by far in customer service. Thank you read more

Customer service is legitimately lacking at this location, unfortunately. Associate was not willing to locate an item that was known to be in stock. In an attempt to save myself a wasted trip to Home Depot, I called ahead to ensure they provided a Rekeying service. After navigating and waiting on the phone, I received a Yes answer, and they even said 8t was Free on locks purchased from them! So, I took the time to dig up the receipt from 2 years ago (you read that right), and then I made this trip to the store. Of course, upon arriving, and asking a clerk, I learned that they don't have this service! Nobody has time for that!! read more

I am a pro customer and - up until now - an avid Home Depot Customer. Because I do a lot of building, I buy extra things at Home Depot to avoid having to make extra trips. Later, I will return the items I don't use -- never had a problem until yesterday. The Home Depot in Auburn Hills really gave us a hard time about returning items. No, I didn't have a receipt. Everything I bought was on the same card and was listed on my pro account. I never needed the receipt before, I always just gave them my number. The manager was no help. read more

Parking is plentiful, but access to the store can be tricky and confusing until you do it a few times. It's at the east mall on top of a hill. Great selection of plants in the garden department, and the employees are super helpful and courteous. Appears to be a clean, well run facility. read more

They do ship I buy a fig try go home and plant it take care it how is supposed be at the tag and was dead already so I wait and wait and nothing happens I show up at the store and talk to the manager about it. And again nothing happened no money back or nothing because I don't have the resit wow. I was about to shop some more stuff but I leave mad never came back ever stay a way people.! read more

This review is for the appliance area. I really dislike when you come to this store and you have to find a employee to help you. We found an employee and he told us he doesn't work in this area, yet he will get the person who does. We asked what's the difference between these two appliances and he pulled down his face mask to talk with us! What is going on here. Employee not wearing his face mask correctly and I've seen a few customers not wearing their face masks! The store only has hand sanitizer up at the front by the greeter when you come in or out. Finally a employee helps us and he tells us that all the appliances are on back order. read more

This is my hometown Home Depot. I've never ran into any problems while shopping here and have found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. One of the last times I was here, a staff member helped us for about 20-30 minutes trying to find the exact part we needed for our fridge hook-up. He went above and beyond the line of duty despite Home Depot not having the part we needed and helped us with parts to get the job done. read more

Way better tool, plumbing and electrical than Lowe's. Lowes has better selection of fancy redecorating stuff. Never had a problem with returns. read more

We have gotten our carpets installed from here and our washer and dryer installed here as well. Do NOT have anything installed from this store. It is terrible how they conduct business here. Let's start with the carpet. First, they brought wrong carpet design. Second, they did a very poor job on outlining the carpet. It wasn't even touching the walls. The did offer to do it free, but still, they had no choice because we weren't going to pay for it. Second, years later we ordered a washer and dryer from these people and the service got even worse. They kept canceling and rescheduling the day they were going to come out and install the washer and dryer three times. This caused us to take breaks during work, cancel and reschedule our personal appointments, and to spend a ton of money at the laundromat while running back and forth from home to make multiple trips. And when we called to complain to the manager, we were transferred to them, but the phone kept ringing for ever while we waited for like 10 minutes. So unprofessional. I would give this place a 1 star but the inside of the store is well kept and easy to find things. If you want to shop here then yes. But do not order any work through these guys if it means they come out to your home. read more

I went into this store ( Auburn Hills on Joslyn Road ) looking for bamboo tomato stakes. They were out however a super nice sales lady named Juanita who was in the outdoor area. She took me to an area where I could get stakes made from quarter round wood. She hooked me up with ( I think his name was Saul ) & he cut the wood for me so I could use it as stakes. I was thrilled! Then she helped me choose a great garden hose, plants and peat moss! She made me feel right at home. Very sweet and knowledgeable. Helped me so much. I won't forget her. Then when I went to check out, the cashier who's name was also Jaunita, was just as nice and friendly. You don't know how much I appreciate these two ladies. I will only shop Home Depot because of them. Going back for shingles and carpet! Thank you ladies!! read more

Remember Builder's Square? They went bankrupt due to poor shelve inventory, inferior products and lack of product choices. Well thats exactly Home Depot's situation. I end up going to ACE or Menards after wasting time at Home Depot. The staff are pleasant (when you can find someone) which is why there are stars at all. Ace salespeople are the best at providing info. Also they sent out a company to measure my door at a cost of $30. The measurements were all wrong. Had I used their measurement I would have a $3k door that needed custom carpentry to fit. read more

We ordered carpet for 2 large family rooms in our home. We had an estimate, they wrote down and took pictures of everything we wanted, the current condition of the floors and trim. We had an install date set for April 9. The contractors showed up on April 6. They were angry that we were not ready and made a huge fuss and left. We rescheduled. They gave us no time frame and just sent a personally text when they were close. When they arrived, they clearly had the attitude of "I don't want to be here" and Said "I can't do this you have trim, I didn't know you had steps (we have 2)." "I am not moving that it will cost $140 (it was a light table that we moved for him)" He was in such a hurry to find a reason to not do the work. He kept saying I am leaving I am not doing this job. Finally I asked him if he could start on one of the rooms that is fine and I will call my husband about the room with the trim. He refused! He said he was leaving. I felt bullied and taken advantage of by his lack of respect and inability to look at me when he talked. Finally after discussing with my husband we said don't worry about the trim just do the job. He went to start and started pulling out benches and ripping items from the wall, I said hmmmm we aren't carpeting there, the estimate clearly states where we are putting the carpet. He was so irritated. He put the items back roughly, and then started on the other items. Long story short, the entire install from start to finish was a nightmare. I just cannot imagine that this is how Home Depot represents them selves. We had several calls between home depot about the service and the issues. The problem is: The estimate stated that we had trim the installer would take out trim and put carpet in (there were photos to document the trip type as well). The installer said ABSOLUTELY NOT, I refuse. The estimate said we have 2 steps that we wanted partial carpeting on, The installer said ABSOLUTELY Not I will not, Well we some how convinced him to but not without him throwing a fit. The estimate stated that we only wanted carpeting to the walkway and we wanted a metal trim going to the wood floor, The installer said NO WAY, I didn't know this I didn't bring this. He insisted on rolling the carpet, we had no choice he didn't bring the items necessary to do it. FINALLY, they left exposed nails or staples and my 5 year was running on the carpet and playing and came out to us in tears and blood all over the bottom of her foot, she stepped on the nail!!!!! how is this ok? I am shocked and disappointed that this company would be with Home Depot. I DEMAND an explanation and I DEMAND an apology and I DEMAND that someone reached out to me. read more

This review is for the home depot installation services of the Joslyn rd store. Took 1 month to get a guy out to take measurements and forced me to take a day off work. The day of measurement no one called at all so I called them asking where they were at 1 pm since they were aupposed to be in a window up to that time. Next the story changed to 11-3. At 2 i took my kids 1 mile up the rd to get drive thru mcdonalds foolishly thinking i would get a heads up call. What i got was a call telling me they were at my house. No problem i told them i would be there in under 5 minutes. I made it in 120 seconds and have the time stamp on my phone to prove it. They refused to wait 120 seconds for me. If being a prisoner in your own home and not even being allowed to use the bathroom is ok with you then you will love these jerks because i know people that cant get bathroom done in 120 seconds to answer the door. Customer service told me yup it happens and they will just leave. So again if thats what u call customer service shame on you home depot. My recommendation would be hey give a heads up call that you are on your way! And if someone needs 120 seconds? And you cant give it? Sad. By the way they charged me $30 for this visit which was just an initial measurement meeting. If this was indicative of the reat of their service i should actually thank them, because thats not service thats plain harassment. Linda whom i worked with on the phone said she would try try to refund me but might not and seriously tried to justify the measurement guys not waiting 120 seconds... really??? 120 seconds? Its getting to a point where I just cant stand this store: the lack of help and lack of knowledge of what personnel they do have is aggravating. Whats even more disappointing is the lack of selection, especially in plumbing. I absolutely cannot stomach trying to get plumbing supplies at this store anymore, when your able to find some "help", its weak . They don't even know what they have half the time and the usual response is "we don't have that" accompanied by an excuse via a comment that "we don't sell enough of that to stock it", but its common product for plumbing. The don't sell enough because they never have it in stock to sell it to begin with. To top it off what product they do have on the shelf is all jumbled in different bins and you can't trust what your buying, much less know what the real price is, which by the way are premium prices for sub-standard products. This store is declining due to such ignorance. read more

My husband and I decided to order new garage doors, and after checking out many companies, decided to go with the Home Depot because of their claims that they take care of everything. We went to this store to place our order, but they didn't have samples of the door for us to look at and were not very knowledgeable about the product. Our order was not placed in store, but online when we got home. We were contacted by the garage door manufacturer/installer the next day to set up for measurements. After not hearing anything after a week, and not seeing their online installation portal update, we called the Home Depot store, to follow up. When speaking with our installation contact, she informed us that they do not have any information, and that we would need to contact Clopay (the manufacturer/installer) for any further information about our install. After about 8 weeks, we finally got our doors installed. We were initially told the timing would be 4-6 weeks. The whole experience was not good to say the least, but the doors look really good. Now, we have a small installation issue, and the store said that we're on our own. We need to contact the installer again to resolve the problem. read more
