Nice selection for the holidays! Tons of fun oversized decor for outdoors, a large variety of real trees and fake trees, many different sizes of planters and poinsettias etc. I picked up a planter for our front door and a 6.5ft fake tree which is just right for our living room. Better price than I was expecting! For this height, and all pre-lit (with multiple options for the light settings), it was $50. Pretty happy with this as something that we'll be able to enjoy year over year! Set up with very easy as well. read more

I shop at Home Depot regularly for DIY home improvement. I can usually find what I want in addition to comparing prices and items with Amazon. Customer service across all Home Depots I've been to is a mixed bag. There are helpful assistants and others who have no interest in doing anything but walking around and talking to their co-workers. Looks can be deceiving. An older woman who worked there knew her stuff about paint and brushes whereas a Bob Vila lookalike did not want to use his utility knife to open a container of caulk. At this Home Depot on Ford Road, I stopped by several times on the 4th of July to buy caulk and mortar joint sealant. Usually, I can easily open caulk containers with my caulk gun, but there was a particular brand that was harder to cut off the tip. The only person who help me with a simple problem was a worker named Gus. He helped me on both times I visited that day. I asked half a dozen workers who said they couldn't help, didn't know how to open it, or told me to seek help in another department. I walked around for 10 minutes until I encountered Gus again. It took him 10 seconds to use his utility knife to open the caulk tubes I had just purchased. Shopping at Home Depot can be good or frustrating depending on the service you can find. Bought a Samsung washer and dryer set. The salesman told us that looks for dents or scratches and notify them within 48 hrs. I received the pair, and decided to wash my bedding 4 days later, and the function doesn't work. All I am getting from home depot and Samsung is a damn runaround!! Let me start by saying I've been shopping at Home Depot for 20+ years and this past experience is BY FAR the worst I've ever had! I selected a 4'x8' piece of 19/32 plywood and asked an employee at the pro desk if someone could come over to grab it down for me and cut it (and the rest of the lumber I already had in my cart) no problem at all there. A few minutes later an employee named Kameron came over grabbed it down, put it on my cart and wheeled it over to the saw. I told him I needed it cut in half length wise and then cut in half again width wise and he said "I got it" so he then proceeds to load it up on the saw and without measuring or even lining it up with the markers on the saw itself he cuts it. Before he even pulled it down I could tell that it was off so I said "We've got one problem. These aren't cut correctly" (I'm talking probably at least 8-10" off not just something small I have a picture but it won't let me attach it) he responds with "Oh I guess I can see if there's another I can cut but let me cut your other wood first" I said "Sure, that's fine". Another employee walks up while he's cutting the other lumber and they start *loudly* talking about the plywood and how I'm being dramatic. The other employee responds with "I would've bought it if it was me" which no I'm not going to "just buy it" I have a specific project I needed it cut for and I can't have it almost a foot off that's not okay! It took him well over 20 minutes to cut (8) 2x4's, (3) 1x6's and (2) 1x4's because he was talking to that other employee the entire time. I then went back over to the plywood to pick out another piece and had to move 4-5 pieces just to get to one that was somewhat usable and set it on top so he could come grab it and cut it for me which went off without a hitch this time. So finally after over an hour I went up to check out and our cashier Sue in Pro was extremely rude as well. I was splitting the payment up putting 1/2 on my home depot credit card and the other half on my debit shouldn't be an issue right? Apparently it was because as I went to swipe my HD credit card she said "give it to me" she snatched it out of my hand, looked at it and slid it herself (I didn't even get a chance to try myself) and then I inserted my debit card for the rest of the amount. I pulled my card out of the machine and went to put it in the pocket of my purse and she started aggressively tapping on the screen of the card reader and said "finish this first" so I clicked the no cash back button and then she handed me the receipt and walked away. I absolutely understand giving back the same energy if someone is being rude but I remained calm and collected even though I was being disrespected during the entire visit I shouldn't have been treated like this at all! This place is really hit or miss. Sometimes I'm in and out in 5 minutes, and other times the item isn't where it's supposed to be. Good luck finding someone to help you - most, not all, of the employees there will try to avoid you at all cost. For the most part, decent store. read more

I was not impressed with my most recent visit to this store. First, we needed to get wood for our deck like 30 boards and there were boxes everywhere of junk that was in our way. I asked the cashier to have someone help us move the boxes in front and they never got anyone to help us. Secondly, we asked if maybe someone could help load the boards in our truck and one of the guys working said where's your car parked and that's the last we saw him. Needless to say staff were not helpful. I don't know if it was because it was a Friday night and managers were not around. Regardless, this was my worst visit to this store. read more

This place just keeps getting worse and worse. Ordered a tool chest, had to wait for 4 weeks to get it delivered and when I did get delivery it came in a banged up box. It was just dropped off in my garage. Normally I'd blame the delivery service, but in this case this was definitely a return item. Banged up on all corners, the wood obviously distressed from use. I had a gift card from an uncle, so I went to Home Depot for a new dishwasher since mine wasn't doing such a great job. The sales team was somewhat helpful, although they didn't know the difference between different models that had $100 in price difference. Fortunately, I had done extensive research on reviews and models and made-in-America part content, so I already had an idea of what I wanted. We purchased a new dishwasher in the $750 price range and paid for delivery. I had to take a day off work to receive delivery, since they wouldn't do it on weekends (or didn't have any weekend appointments available for a month, I can't remember which). The sales people asked me if my dishwasher is within 4 feet of the shutoff valve. I said it is. The day of the delivery, the delivery company measures and says it's not within range. Although the dishwasher is within 4 feet of the shutoff valve, the actual water valve on the dishwasher is in the front left corner and "has to go around the motor" which adds two feet, so it didn't reach. What would a good company with good customer service do? - Let me drive to a store and buy a $20 hose? - Offer to go get me the $20 hose? - Keep an extra 6' hose on hand in case this type of situation arises? No. Home Depot's delivery subcontractors offered to reschedule for a week or two out. Weekdays only. Which means another unpaid day off work. Then they hard pressured me to accept the dishwasher anyway and keep it in my garage and pay someone from Angie's List to install it, and they'd refund my installation fee. But my Home Depot contract says that the appliance is non-refundable once I accept it. Which means... if it doesn't work once the Angie's List installer comes to put it in, I'm out $750. This was borderline fraud, and I told them "hell no." The delivery subcontractor told me that the Home Depot appliance manager I talked to on the phone is on commission, so they are pressured to get me to accept the delivery no matter what. I had heard horror stories about Home Depot and the subcontractors they use for installation, but I didn't listen. I'm asking you to listen. Find a more reputable company for anything larger than a tape measure or a piece of wood. I only hope I don't get ripped off on the refund. read more

I understand that products are hard to come by , and maybe it's because nobody wants to work anymore. But waiting over 3 weeks for a washer is ridiculous. I will admit I did miss the first delivery day, but they never called back to reschedule, and when I called them, for about a week straight, they simply said they just can't find your washer? Uhhhh how can you not find it? You had it on the truck one day and than it's just gone? It could be the times and availability is short or help is hard to find. Home Depot in Canton Ford Road! Customer Service is terrible! Rented a power rake it's that time of year to get all that thatch out of the yard. The first one didn't work so Michigan Ave store sent me to Ford Rd store OMG! It's was bad from the start had to get the rental agent off his phone to help me. Then he said couldn't help me load machine until I moved my truck like 10 feet. He stated I would have to bring machine back clean but didn't indicate what exactly needed to be cleaned. He never stated that it needed to be full of gas I just recalled other store mentioning that. So when I return he immediately checks the gas which I made sure was full. He then takes machine into a stall tilts it up on to a wall-mounted hanger to look underneath machine & states it's dirty! That'll be $50 for cleaning! I said how do I know it was cleaned before I rented it, also I was never told the specifics on what needed to be cleaned. I've rented power rakes in the past & have never experienced this process from Home Depot or other rental places before. The manager was no assistance so much for taking care of the customer! I fell this was more of a race thing form the moment I walked in the rental department. I've been asked in the past to see my license but never my license & credit card! He wanted to make sure my name matched, I told him the Michigan Ave store didn't perform the same process. read more

This Home Depot is adequate. It has the full selection of items one would expect from a Home Depot. It doesn't always have the amounts I need immediately for a full project so I usually go here if I am completing a project or working on something small. The associates here are available but sometimes they have to be sought out. The prices fluctuate here, probably due to the location they are in. It is generally well known that this location is here but due its position on Ford Road and set back far in the strip mall parking lot it is difficult to get to. There is also a very active side parking area that is used for deliveries and pickups that requires extra caution when approaching. This is kind of a problem because it is right at two of the entrances/exits to the location. read more

It's a fairly standard HD. Maybe a little on the empty side in the middle of the workweek day but I went in for blinds and came out with blinds, with a little help from the staff in the department. After reading the reviews I understand some of the complaints but for a local HD store I think it's 3.5 stars easy. It's also easy on and easy of the freeway which is a nice bonus. read more

This is the worst home depot i have ever been to as far as the pro desk and the customer service desk ate concerned. The last 3 times i have been here for a will call it has taken over 45 minutes to get the order, this is not due to a shortage of workers since there are plenty of them standing around talking with each other while the lines build up to be helped. Hello there! Well I must admit that usually I just despise going to these "do it yourselfer" shops to get all of those tools and things for those kind of jobs that I also despise doing! Ha Ha ...LOL...so you know where I'm coming from, right? But this night I really needed something special and thought that the "knowledgeable people" at the "Home Depot"; would be able to find what I need and help me out! NOT!!!!! We saw a man probably in his later 50's or so, sitting at a desk in the information station...or someplace smack dab in the middle of Home painting etc. He was doing exactly that...sitting! He was chatting a bit and laughing, seemed jovial enough. So we asked him where we might find a dowel rod and some side brackets to hold a quilt on the wall for decoration. He didn't get up, in fact, he barely moved. He let out a big and loud stretch...and then told us that what we wanted was "in the next aisle over". We went over and over it and couldn't find what we needed. We went back to ask him a second time and he repeated just what he'd said to us the first time! I can't understand why he wouldn't get up out of his chair to help us! I mean...for crying out loud...we walked by a very nice employee who was a wheelchair and he wheeled himself right along next to us, to show us where the things that we needed might be located! Nothing we needed was located where it was supposed to be! We spent about a half of an hour looking for these items and we still have yet to find anything that resembles the other two "quilt hangers" that we got a few years ago at a quilt show in Novi, MI! So....we won't be going back to this "Home Depot" location, in Canton, MI on Ford Road. I've heard that this company can be helpful but our experience just wasn't so good. Maybe the guy won the lottery and knew he wasn't ever coming back to work again after that day! LOL...ha ha....If anyone knows where we might find a "quilt hanger" please feel free to let me know! I don't understand why this store has such a bad rating... I'll admit, that typically you won't see an employee go out of their way to ask you what you need, but if asked, I have always been helped with what ever it is that I may have needed. The friendliness of the employee varies from person to person obviously but I have never been treated poorly. I have found that most of the time, the closer that you find an employee to what it is you are looking for the more likely they are to have knowledge about what it is you are looking for. For example: I wouldn't ask someone working in gardening questions about a refrigerator that I am looking at. I would probably go find someone in appliances. This place is getting a bad wrap that I don't think they deserve. I hope more people that are satisfied with this location yelp their experiences. I would definitely recommend this store. read more

Marc who works at the Home Depot in Canton is worth his weight in gold. I bought some furniture at Ikea and ran over and bought some ratchet straps to tie them down for the ride home. He tried to fix the straps because they were started wrong and got jammed. He got me new straps and showed me how to properly work them. I do not recommend getting floors installed through Home Depot. I was very excited to get plank flooring installed. We went with Home Depot because we figured they would have the process down to a science by now, but we just keep running into road blocks. Pros: -Store staff is nice -Contracted company workers that have come to our house are nice and very knowledgeable. They even gave us their cell # in case I needed to reach out about anything. -Product looks good Cons: -Process is unorganized -long wait times -Employee misinformed us -Person that came to measure our house wasn't knowledgeable and didn't report accurate information to Home Depot about our floors having issues with leveling -Unable to fix or recommend someone to fix unlevel floors - we had to find someone on our own We worked with a flooring employee who walked us through everything. We were very clear that we wanted flooring, baseboard removal, and new baseboards. He reassured us that the contracted company would take care of us and asked what color primer we wanted on the baseboards. We told him about our floors having issues with dips and being unlevel. He reassured us that the contracted company would be able to add compound to level it out. We talked about getting the items delivered, but the employee recommended that we just pick it up and deliver it ourselves because it would fit in the back of our SUV. When we came to pick up the material, they reassured us we had everything. Later, we found out that we needed to pick up the shoe molding that wouldn't fit in our car, so we ended up having to pay for delivery anyway. We ended up driving home and a box of planks slid forward cracking our windshield (not Home Depot's fault, but still could have been avoided if we did delivery in the first place). When we asked where the baseboards were, they told us we never paid for them and charged us to add them. I called Home Depot to double check that they would remove our current baseboards and found out that they wouldn't do it. So we had to buy a few tools and remove it ourselves frantically the night before the crew came to our house. We had Home Depot (well the company they contract) come out and remove our old flooring. We had some big dips in the floor (which we told them about ahead of time) and we were told that they couldn't lay the plank flooring until we had it leveled. I thought they would be able to level the floor and we would just have to pay extra, but they weren't trained to do carpentry work, so we had to hire a different company to level out the subfloors. We have been walking on subfloors for over a week now while we wait to get the flooring team rescheduled to come back out. We ended up spending a lot more than the original quote they gave us. I just wish everyone was more knowledgeable and organized so we could have made proper arrangements (work schedules, saving up money, waiting to rip up flooring, picking a different flooring material, etc.) read more

I had a recent opportunity to work with United Home Services as it related to my purchase of kitchen granite counter tops from Home Depot. Although I encountered some troubling issues which appeared to be representing a major debacle, instead, turned out to be a huge success. Due to these issues, my situation was addressed by Christine at Home Depot and Carrie and Amy at United. United's resolution to my concerns went above and beyond my expectations. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!!! I have never worked with a company who held such high esteem for their customers and their complete satisfaction as what I experienced by working with United Home Services. Thank you does not come close in expressing my appreciation for what they have done!!!! I didn't realize until today that Home Depot thinks it is okay to use false advertising methods to try and get your business. I Researched microwave ovens several days ago and the woman who works in the appliance area asked how she could help. We talked about various models and the prices for them. I pledged to return, and when I did go back in today, the price had gone up by $50. Oh well, that's my fault for missing the sale, but then I was told (by the same woman who helped last time) that there is an additional $60 delivery fee. I told her there was no need to charge that fee, because I do not need delivery. The saleswoman then informed me that the delivery fee is MANDATORY. They only stock one brand of microwave and all others are delivery only. My biggest problem with this is that there is absolutely no signage whatsoever that says that delivery is mandatory, or that they have next to nothing in stock. When I spoke to a so-called manager, he suggested that I look at the inventory code, which is an "online only" code....seriously, what?! This is ridiculous. Home Depot thinks it is ok to jack the price up $60 without having to show that fee anywhere. The manager remarked that there were plenty of signs saying that there is delivery available but he refused to see my point that available and mandated are not the same thing. He also suggested that once the current sale was over, the price would again go up and when it does, I will be able to get free delivery....so his logic is that if I pay more for the microwave I can pay less for delivery? That confirms for me that this so-called mandatory fee is completely arbitrary. So, I walked out, I went down the street to ABC Warehouse and got my microwave for less than the Home Depot sale price, and I was treated with respect, and no false advertising. Seriously, isn't it illegal not to list the actual price? You suck Home Depot, I will not consider you for future purchases. read more

I bought a washer and dryer from the Canton store in Michigan on 1/21/14. After going in and picking out which ones I wanted, the guy who was helping me told me that the earliest they would be able to be delivered to me would be the following Wednesday and that I would get a call the night before to see what would be a good time to have it delivered to me. That night, I got a call from an automated system after 6pm saying that it would be delivered to me during the day when I was at work and if that time didn't work to call a number to reschedule. I called the number, heard that they closed at 5pm, so I called Home Depot, which did pretty much nothing to help me. The woman I talked to said that the guy told me the wrong stuff, and the company who delivers doesn't call to set up a time, they say when they'll be there. The next day I call Home Depot back and, once again, they did nothing to help me reschedule a time for the washer and dryer to be delivered. They gave me a number to call, which was the delivery company. I called GE where I was disconnected 3 times from their system before I got ahold of someone who could help me. We set a date for them to come out (which was a WEEK later). They guys came today and set up the washer and dryer, told me to wait 2 hours before using the washer, and left. I started the washer and it worked. When it was done, I went down and it has a slow, steady leak coming out from where it fills up the drum during the cycle. I called Home Depot back and the woman who I spoke with said she'll call and have them come out and fix it. I'm so pissed off with this Home Depot and the people who hooked up the washer and dryer. I didn't pay that kind of money to be treated like this and have no one to actually help me out. I've been given the run around since I stepped foot into that building. I know that I will never recommend Home Depot to anyone for any reason, especially for home appliances!!
