The Home Depot in Ellisville has top-notch staff, and the team at the Pro Desk is absolutely phenomenal. These guys consistently go above and beyond to take care of their customers. Ben, Scott, Mike, and Rico deliver some of the best customer service I've ever experienced. This Home Depot is hands down THE BEST. As a project manager for home renovations, I am constantly ordering building supplies to be delivered to my projects. Anytime I've had an issue with an order, Ben somehow waves his magic wand and makes it right. I honestly can't say I've ever received this level of service from a big box store before. I also want to call out Shirley, one of the store managers. She genuinely engages with customers and isn't afraid to jump in and help wherever she's needed. That kind of leadership really shows. This is the closest Home Depot to my home, but it regularly seems to have issues with available stock. Either they order too few or their freight is horrid as everything coming off the truck is damaged. Aisles are fairly narrow, and their over setup is normal for most Home Depot's. Customer service is okay, but they have no motivation and are flippant towards patrons as they've heard all the same complaints before but don't care to make any positive changes. Management can be right there and hear every word but still offers nothing of value to help or make the experience/transaction better. The minimal rental services is okay but I'd seriously limit your expectations here. read more

Beyond all you expect from Home Depot, this Ellisville location also provides rentals, which was quite helpful recently. We needed a tall ladder to paint part of the outside of our house, and Mike and others on the staff were very helpful, on the phone, and in person. We left expecting the 24-foot ladder would work, but it was about 2 feet too short, so they quickly helped us swap out and take home the 32-foot ladder, which worked just right. The rental paperwork was brief and simple. The return was easy. The ladder itself was incredibly strong and stable. The team was great to work with. We bought a washing machine and dryer from Home Depot. They delivered the wrong washing machine. we had to go and purchase a new one as that is their policy. a week later they delivered the new one without installation. We called spoke to a few people with no success that was Saturday, December 28. Today is the 31st. They still haven't called us back for installation. My husband ended up installing it himself. On Saturday I stopped in to rent a lawn aerator and peat moss spreader. Avoid rental agent Mike at all costs maybe even this store in general based on Mike. A gentleman was ahead of me and when Mike appeared from the backroom. He said "what do you want?" I indicated the other person was next. He said, "He being helped." In a manner that I was inconveniencing him. I asked about renting an aerator. He said "they are all rented except for that one, the good ones are already gone." Ok way to sell against your only offering. As he is writing me up, I inquire about the peat moss spreader. He say they are all rented for 24 hours and are due back Sunday afternoon. I ask if I can reserve one and Mike states, "no reservation accepted." Off I go with the aerator. I return about 3 hours later walking up to the door and Mike gives me the come hither finger motion to bring the device to him in a separate part of the parking lot. No words just a finger motion. He said, "it will be a while to check me in." He starts the process, I ask if any peat moss spreaders have been returned and he now acts like he does know what I and offers an over-seeder. Nope, I explain it to him again, show him a picture on the Home Depot rental website and he says, "no we do not have them." Well why did you tell me they were all rented 3 hours ago? This man, Mike, is a _ _ __. I will never stop this location again. I will find other options and suggest you do the same. read more

Ordered a dishwasher from this Home Depot. Linn Star Transfer Crew arrived to install and flooded my kitchen. They said they needed a plumber to finish and scheduled to arrive next day. Plumber didn't arrive. On hold with Home Depot but this whole experience has been horrific. Will be filing a claim for water damage which one home depot rep said needed to wait for the plumber, now they are claiming the plumber was scheduled by Linn Star and trying to escalate. They now want to schedule for a WEEK later. Completely unacceptable. Then now claiming the water damage can be filed without plumber. Get your troy straight home depot. And Home Depot, Linn Star has TWO stars why the heck are you using these people. Not acceptable. read more

I recently purchased 4 appliances from Home Depot. The delivery was a nightmare. The customer service was extremely inefficient. It took almost 2 months to get the appliances after many attempts. Three stars give this company too much credit... I went in one day and tried to talk to a manager trying to find a brand of mulch. Not only did he tell me to hold on and wait for a second, but he also left me on the spot and talked to an associate, while I stood there without any help. This guy reflects this store negatively in that he did not care about the needs of me, the customer, and he went out of his way to socialize with other employees, laughing all the way to the office. Really displeased with this location and their customer service. Went to their outdoor section to purchase a live Christmas tree. When I found one I wanted, they informed me they wouldn't sell it to me. The car I was driving was a SUV so I was confused.. I'd bought a Christmas tree from this location before and never had an issue. They told me since I didn't have a roof rack on my car they wouldn't sell it to me to take home. I tried getting more information from the employee on if this was a new policy and he was incredibly rude and dismissive. Ended up leaving and going to another place nearby -- they didn't have an issue with putting the tree on my car. read more

Never buy appliance at home depot !!! Home depot has a 48 hours rule on appliance that has been installed by them. In other words after 48 hours of installment, they won't fix the problem for you. Instead, you have to call the manufacture. Yes, perhaps you can return it but you must take it out yourself, bring it to the store, get a new one ( if they give you one), bring it home and reinstalling it yourself. This is not what you want to do as you had it installed to avoid all this. So for me, a dishwasher broke in 3 days after installation and all home depot did for me is to preach the 48 hour return policy and give me the phone number for the manufacture. Now, Lowes has a 30 days policy according to the manufacture rep I spoke to....NOT 48 hours. So if you are buying any appliance, since anyone is at risk of getting a lemon go get it at lowes or anywhere else but Home depot. I will never buy any appliance at Home depot again. Price ? They are all similar and Lowes or any store will match it anyway. read more

I come here because you're close by. Your staff has always been friendly and helpful. I never know what I'm doing in here so you ease my stress. Once I bought bug killer and didn't notice the spout was broken until I got home and the exchange was made easy. I also got upset when I went to buy weed killer for the clover in my yard and didn't notice that it also kills the lawn until I got home and already sprayed it. I Googled how long it would take to kill the weeds and found out I just killed my lawn. However, the return and exchange was easy. We were in need of replacement lighting in the front of our home so we stopped by Home Depot on a Sunday afternoon. We were greeted by a few people upon entering and made our way back to the lighting area. Once we were back there we had a hard time finding what we were looking for, so we asked some employees where to find it. A younger employee told us that they basically didn't have what we were looking for, but once we found someone who was an expert in lighting, he told us exactly where to find it. I'm glad they found the expert, otherwise we would have left empty handed unnecessarily. The lighting expert was Charlie and he was very knowledgeable and helpful, he was a big help to us. We were looking in the wrong area completely, so he showed us where to look and explained everything to us and found us exactly what we needed. I noticed that he was wearing a veteran's tag on his vest, so I made sure to tell him happy early Veteran's Day before we left, which he very much appreciated. If anything else, I'm glad there are still nice people working out there who go out of their way to help. Charlie deserves a lot of credit for working hard and having great customer service, there was also someone named Terri (I think) who was very nice as well who helped us. We had a good experience at this Lowe's, but minus one star for the original employee telling us they don't carry the product we wanted instead of trying to find someone who knew that area better to help us. Thanks again Charlie for all the help, you are great!
