I went to Home Depot today W. Valley Parkway. It was either by PVC or ABS 4 inch. I chose PVC because it was a little bit cheaper for my outside drain wanted something more durable that roots couldn't get into , but they had every fitting known to man in 4 inch pvc besides 4 inch couplings so I had to buy ABS couplings then I had to buy $30 worth of transition glue and the lady said they would give me a discount but when I went to the pro desk they gave me the difference between the PVC couplings and the ABS they didn't count for $30 worth of transition glue from ABS to PVC. I asked them about that. They said no way and then I had three carts full flat carts Pipe carts not one person in there offered me help to load it into my truck so I'm a little sketchy on going back in there for my plumbing needs because I am a plumbing contractor and this is Sunday the day before Memorial Day... this is exactly what I'm talking about one day. They have what we need and one day they don't it's because whoever is running the plumbing section has no idea what they're doing. They ordered things of their liking versus what we need... by the way, we did check other locations for the couplings and that would've been another 25 minutes. Out of my way not to mention having to drive to the job so that would be additional 40 minutes added to my time schedule.... read more

Manager Drew and Associate Josue were both friendly and super helpful during my visit. I don't normally come in to Home Depot and felt super out of my element, so naturally I had no idea how to resolve an order issue I was having. Thankfully Drew was really kind, understanding and helped to offer an easy solution that took less than 5 minutes to get back to my day. My order was heavy so I was so thankful when Drew called for a loader, Josue, we had great conversation as he helped me hike my purchase to my car and load it up for me. This is our favorite Home Depot. There are many like it, but this one is ours. There are others closer, but this one is ours. The parking lot is perfection!!!! The aisles are well organized. And the staff, well this is where it gets good. They recognize us when we go in and seem to remember our projects. It could be because we have a lot of projects. But, it feels like "a place where everyone knows your name". If there is an aisle in this store, we have walked it, and we have e purchased something in it. The joy of home ownership. Went to go and get some keys cut that I ordered online. Told me you can only cut keys that you buy from them and so I told them to just charge me for two keys and cut the ones I bought and the guy told me to go somewhere else. Definitely should figure out how to make it so customers can pay a price to have keys cut there that aren't sold in the store. read more

An absolute 5 starts+ to this location and Angel of course! I hope the store manager, Vida sees this review. I am sharing my absolute gratitude to Angel in the Home and Gardening department. When my husband and I purchased our new home, we were quoted around $8k or more by landscaping companies for simply planting plants. It seems pretty high as new home owners, but we weren't sure if that was a good deal or not, so we went to a couple of nurseries. The prices went to about $2k-$3k. A little skeptical at this point about the price in plants and labor costs - we continued to shop. After some good ole' YouTube and some enthusiastic ambition, we took a trip to Home Depot and met the Plant Legend himself - Angel! His name couldn't be any more suiting! He helped us find the perfect, drought resistant plants that look absolutely beautiful in our home. He patiently walked us through each step to get it right! He literally spent an hour with us, educating us on proper care and maintenance. He helped make it really easy, especially for me, since I have a horrible curse of basically looking at a plant, and it dies! Yikes! Not these plants though! We literally walked out spending under $300 for the plants and couldn't be happier! They are such great quality, and I love the Home Depot policy. Keep the containers, and if they don't work out within a year, you can take them back for a replacement or a refund! Seriously, couldn't be happier! Thanks Home Depot Escondido! The worst Home Depot I've ever been to by a mile. Pretty much everything is locked down behind cages, yet no employees around to unlock the cages. And when one does finally come, no one knows the combination to the locks. And then they insist on treating everyone like a thief and walking even lower priced items to the front of the store for you. I get that maybe there is a lot of theft at this store, but taking away all of the front end cashiers and staff and replacing them with "self checkout" that then they won't even let you operate is willllld. Won't be back to this location. Go to a different. Even if it is a bit further away you'll save time by not having to wait for the merchandise that is behind bars. read more

I had always felt that Home Depot was like Trader Joe's - I always said that people who work in Trader Joe's must take Happy Pills because they usually seem to be enjoying themselves . I've always felt the same about Home Depot, in any town. Until I came to this one. I've shopped at the store several times - mostly for paint and the garden center. I have found the people to generally be miserable. Not knowing much about the products they are selling and seemingly unhappy about having to be there at all. I definitely will not go back again to the garden center when there are so many other options around. Too bad - I used to love going to Home Depot, especially the garden center. Purchased $3300.00 oven/microwave appliance through Home Depot.com and it arrived 12/17/25. Husband installed 12/23/25 as he had to work overtime due to rain (first responder). Microwave worked fine but oven did not heat. Called Home Depot and was refered to Fridgidaire. Fridgidaire informed us we would not get service until after New Year and set up appointment with local tech which was canceled due to 1 star and horrible reviews online. Called Home Depot Back AGAIN and first guy said to return oven to Home Depot and order another one (problem solved and best result for customer)...BUT E Valley Pkwy Home Depot said everything must be done through dot com(original guy as call rotated from store to .com since store did not answer call)Then in same sentence tried to tell us they are same store. HD.com informed us that tech must come out (2 weeks) THEN order parts (at least two weeks unless on back order) could possibly take months. This was a BRAND NEW APPLIANCE. I would not recommend ordering ANY appliances through Home Depot or Fridgidaire with this kind of service. First they send a broken product then don't stand behind it. Needless to say the holiday dinners were NOT this same thanks to these two organizations!!! The only thing they have done is give us the run around. read more

Isaac helped me from start to finish finding what I was looking for, and made sure I was taken care of. As a frequent visitor to Home Depot, I wanted to take a minute and comment on the amazing service I have received recently. I was approached in three different departments by employees asking if I needed help. I can't remember that ever happening before. Each employee was courteous and very helpful. Whatever changed last week - it was great. I also requested a window replacement bid from their online services. The entire experience was fabulous. The in-person quote was done within 3 days of the request. Todd Griffin was knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. The final measurement was also scheduled very quickly. I couldn't be happier with the process so far and expect the same level of professionalism once the install is actually completed. read more

So I love going to Home depot, but I hate when we have to buy firewood. They leave it outside knowing that we are getting alot of rain, and it is cold outside, and people like to burn firewood in their fireplaces. One could see down the aisle where i was struggling to load the door on my cart(by myself) As I'm walking by, there still in the chairs--one employee asked while still sitting "do I need any help". why didn't they offer when they could see me struggling to get the door on the cart - or get out of the chair and ask then! I am amazed how friendly, kind and helpful the staff at this Home Depot are. First off Vic helped us pick out light bulbs, we didn't even have to ask he was nearby and ready to help. He took the time to tell us the difference in lights and even gave us a demo for us to picture what kind of lighting we need. Other staff who I didn't get their names went above and beyond to help us navigate the store. Even at check out, it was quick and efficient. At one point I told my husband where are we.. usually at Home Depot it's "fend for yourself." I can see how people who know what they are doing might not like the constant checking in on. But we gladly accepted all the help we can get. read more

I frequently visit the location on the East side of town, but I'm constantly at different Home Depot's in San Diego so it doesn't make much a difference to me. Last time I was at this one I was VERY impressed by the upper inventory in the plumbing areas. The East location is a mess compared to here. It's very common to ask an employee to grab more from above and I can tell it would be a quick find. At other locations It's a strain to locate extra inventory because of how much a mixed mess it is. She does the Karen voice with extra extensions "any thing else I can help you withhhhhhhh" after she was the least helpful person in the room. Avoid her at all cost. Almost ruined my mood but just went to another homedepot with the help I needed only a few miles away and it all worked out! Asked to see her manager and she said she was it. Stood in front of the carpet cutting station for 40 minutes begging three random employees to please call to get the carpet cut. Nothing. We were ignored despite asking over and over again. Went here looking for an appliance kit for my dishwasher. Took forever to find someone and when I did he had no clue. Fine. I get that. There's a lot of stuff! He called and had appliances paged on the intercom. Nothing. I ended up calling the store from the store and got put on hold. While I was on hold this lovely lady named Carol asked me if I needed help. We went to the appliance department got on the computer and found out they didn't carry that kit. If it weren't for Carol I would probably still be wandering around that store. She did a great job and was very friendly. She even suggested an appliance parts store nearby that I could try. Great customer service Carol! Disappointed that out of all that stuff they didn't carry what I needed. read more

Last weekend we were trying to redo the grass in our backyard. The old grass had been there for more than 10 years and they were not maintained well. They don't look good and it was too labor intensive for us to dig them up manually. My husband did some research and we decided to rent a tiller from home depot. We went to this Escondido store at around 9:30. The staff at the rental center was already busy assisting another customer. He's an middle aged gentleman and he was super duper helpful! He told me grass that old won't be taken out by light duty tiller. Not even middle range tiller. However, the heavy duty tiller was a little on the bigger side and I only had a CR-V. I went to move my car to the pro parking. There was already 4 people waiting in line when I came back. He called for backup help and another younger staff came. However, the younger staff didn't know much about the rental equipment so he couldn't answer my question as well. The younger staff still tried to help me measure the size of the tillers and what not. At the end I asked the older gentleman about trying to fit the heavy duty tiller in my car. Although he had never seen the heavy duty tiller transport in a CR-V before, he didn't hesitate at all to help me move the tiller. He's totally awesome! I wish I had asked for his name cause he knew so much and he's genuinely nice and he didn't mind extra work! I only have good thing to say about him! I ended up renting the middle range tiller and it's not even available in this store. The only working middle range tiller in this store was rented out before me. However, I recommend coming to this store for the rental 100%! read more

This Home Depot is one of the better ones in our area! I don't know why the reviews don't collectively reflect that. Have used them a few times for store pick up and it was easy peasy. The stuff has been friendly, and the store appears organized and clean. Highly recommend this location versus the other ones near and in Escondido. read more

While the have good prices the customer service is not up to par. When asked where something was 2 people sent me in the wrong direction. I believe it all comes down to poor management and lack of training. Twice this week I have seen excess water draining into the parking lot. If we are in a drought this should be managed as well. This is a very large Home Depot located fairly close to the 15. The last time I shopped here was over a decade ago. I was returning home from Vista and decided to drop in for some "retail tourism". Glad I did. There's an extensive Garden Center -- bigger than most Home Depots -- with a great selection. I needed some irrigation parts and headed to Plumbing after browsing the plants. I was impressed with how clean and orderly this Home Depot looked in general. Self checkout for the irrigation parts I purchased was smooth and easy. Store associates were friendly and helpful. Service first of all we rent from there all the time we have NEVER had a problem in there and then all of a sudden today we took back two items today we couldn't even use do to the generator no being the right size for the jackhammer and when the lady tried to ring us up she wanted to charge us 260$ when we could even use then and by the way they had notes in then system showing I was being it back in today because it was to late last night and I had other things going on and when the manager came over she still tried to charge me for the breaker until I told her why I didn't get to use it then she finally gave in and said ok take it off but she got mad because couldn't defuse the situation with him that's what I'm upset about is when he was upset she automatically just got nasty back instead of just letting him talk and letting vent and saying okay sir let me see how I can help you I see there notes here! That's what a manager should do there's was no professionalism And then she calls a bunch of other staff and has them tell me, oh he's been mad in here before, there's no evidence of that what so ever and I'm upset about that too because why stir up more drama really if the situation is getting resolved then.. let it fizzle out.... read more

Despite the plethora of signage posted upon entering as well as at entrances, I routinely see patrons here NOT wearing masks while shopping! Home Depot staff does nothing to ensure that other selfless patrons who aren't selfish jerks are ensured a safe shopping environment by wearing the masks. Regardless of what our personal opinion or armchair research we proscribe to, we all have to wear the masks. For those who choose not to only exacerbate the imposed mask wearing requirements. 8/24/2022 Our garage door opener wore out after 11 years. Connie at Home Depot was a great help to Grandpa and took extra care to insure that it would be installed quickly. Their contracted installer Kyle really knew his trade. I remarked how quiet the new opener is, and he said that everyone notices the difference. He also gave me tips on the way to attach the safety handle so that burglars can't reach it, and the proper bulb to use. read more

I purchased a $400 tool box, I stated I would need help getting it in my vehicle, the cashier said pull up outside in front of the tool boxes that are chained up. I did just that and waited for 20 min, I went back inside, it turns out she never called for a helper she assured me that help is on the way, 30 min later I decided to see if the chest was really chained up. Turns out only the outside chests are chained together and the inside ones you can pick up over the chain so I did just that. Luckily a guy was waiting on someone to unlock the rebar and he helped me load the chest. Customer service seems to be lacking. read more

Best Home Depot I've visited so far. Love the convenient location, huge parking lot, huge garden/nursery department that is well organized, stocked, and layout has a good flow. I found exactly what I needed exactly where I expected it to be. Prices are great. Selection is better here. There is ample breathing room between aisles to allow two large carts to pass at the same time. I don't recall seeing any employees on the floor in the vicinity to help customers. That piece weighs heavy in my overall rating. I think a 4 is fair here. read more

In these times where it's hard to find good employees I have to say that everyone at the Home Depot location was extremely nice and helpful. From the cashier in nursery to Beto who helped us with our Christmas tree. Beto helped get our tree into the strand and on to the bed of our truck. He even cut the branches we wanted cut for the tree to have the source shape we want (early morning so not sure busy so.no guarantees they will always have the time to cater) The store also has these super cool car type shopping cart which my son loved so it kept him entertained while we shopped. A necessary evil on the shopping rotation as a home/property owner. Regrettably some of these trips stem from some unforeseen emergency that appear, of course, in the most inconvenient and untimely manner. The prices are fair for the local convenience. Nice selection of annuals. Self check out is the preferred way to go but we have yet to encounter any issues when dealing with an employee at checkout or any other time. Personal observation and experience advises that when enlisting a floor employee it is best to have the most information possible to assist in locating the item(s). read more
