I came in needing help to fix my bed, even though it had nothing to do with lumber, and I honestly know nothing about lumber. Reaux took the time to listen to my problem, helped me figure out exactly what I needed, and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. He was patient, knowledgeable, and never made me feel rushed or embarrassed for not knowing what to buy. I stopped by yesterday to buy some lumber (10 pieces of 1x4x8). There were only around 20 left but they were rejects (warped, cracked, split). The app showed there were 225 more at the store. I asked the help of José who was working who saw what I was looking and said "sorry they would only bring more once all the boards were gone so I had to select from the rejects and there was nothing they could do about it". Currently in the middle of a kitchen remodel and I've visited Home Depot more in the past month than I have in my entire life. This big box store has every item you could possibly imagine when it comes to home improvement. I've bought both in store and curbside pick up. I will mention that curbside pick up sometimes is a little on the slow side. Staff are usually friendly and helpful. There are plenty of self-checkout lanes and plenty of parking. read more

I don't recommend buying outdoor plants here. I bought four and they were all extremely root-bound. 2 died before I could plant them and the other 2 are not doing great. Highly recommend going to Johnson's Garden Center (super healthy affordable plants, huge selection!) or even Lowe's since their plants have been constantly in better condition than here. read more

Over the weekend we went to look at washer and dryers. Our ancient beast of a washer finally went out on us so we needed replacements. I wasn't sure I was going to buy that day or from home depot, but with Victoria Wheeler's help we went all in. She was very attentive, even though busy still acknowledged us and told us she would be right with us, made us feel like friends, entertained my 4 year old and went over and beyond to help me save a little money (huge plus). The extra mile for customer service was felt and appreciated. My only issue had nothing to do with Victoria, I was just super bummed the actual color and model of dryer I wanted was out of stock with no option to back order. Either way, we're excited for our new machines & loved working with Victoria. The 2nd part I'd like to call out, the credit card customer service. I forgot to check my email and when I did, there was a 12 month no finance offer which I missed! I was so bummed, I called thinking i was too late since the purchase was made 2 days prior. They were amazing, it was so easy and trust me after dealing with some horrible customer service issues with other companies this was a breath of fresh air. All that's left is the delivery, it was rescheduled one day (not a big deal). I'm hoping it all arrives and gets installed without any issues. This first part is strictly on local delivery order. My original order was supposed to be delivered on Saturday between 6 AM and 8 PM. I called the customer service number at 8:40pm asking the status of my order. They said that my shipment was canceled and they would connect me to the person who deals with it at the store. I was told that my shipment was canceled but they didn't know why. So they rescheduled it For Monday. At 3:45 on Monday I received a phone call from whoever was delivering to my house. He was extremely hard to understand due to his very thick Indian accent. He said he was there to deliver my items and I said that was fine just to leave them against the wall below the window. He was extremely rude the whole time and he told me that he needed help. I told him that I wasn't home and that I paid for delivery and it was supposed to be delivered on Saturday. If someone is delivering an item they shouldn't be delivering it if they can't physically do it themselves or have a team of people who can deliver the items. He hung up on me in a huffy. When I got home later that day I was very irritated at how unprofessional this delivery person was. Not only was he rude to me on the phone and hung up on me. Other people were in their vehicle and heard the phone call. But he decided to just throw my items in my and my neighbors walkway. He blocked my front door and didn't have the courtesy to stack the two tubs on top of each other or at least try to make it somewhat presentable. This makes Home Depot look really bad. I will not be ordering from Gilroy delivery again because of this experience. My neighbors told me that they heard (which was very loud) and saw the guy dragging my metal tubs across the sidewalk. I also sent an email to the manager of the store letting him know but I never received a response. This second part is when I physically went to the store. I needed to get another one of the metal containers. I went to the store and could not locate a flatbed so I walked in and went over to Customer Service because there was literally eight flatbeds around it. Most of them had one item on them and I asked the girl if I could use one of them. She said no you need to go find one in the parking lot. I went back outside and there was literally zero anywhere in the parking lot. I walked back in and said there's literally zero anywhere in the parking lot. She said oh you have to go to the end of the building and they'll be outside. So I went to the very end of the building and someone was loading up their vehicle so I waited for their flatbed. Nowhere else in sight were any flatbeds. It's pretty pathetic that Customer Service is hoarding eight flatbeds that's just ridiculous. It's not that hard to take things off of eight flatbeds so customers can use them. Employees here to care less about their job for the customers. So I went over to the garden area and there were a few employees behind the orange fencing that you're not supposed to cross. So it's purposely making a lot of noise trying to get the metal tub onto the flatbed, constantly looking at the employees. They looked at me but not one of them came to help me. I tried waiting them over... No response whatsoever. The tub is very heavy and they're supposed to help customers but instead they want to socialize. So I get the tub on the flatbed and go wait in line to pay. Not only issues with getting a flatbed and no help but also no help to load it up into my vehicle. This place is terrible and the manager could care less. I was never contacted about my previous issue I wrote above. There's literally no work ethic at the store. Morgan Hill is 1 million times better. Employees there ask if you need help and they will help you. read more

I go and waited again because it looked like the checkouts were full... no, it was all three checkout employees were talking to each other. When I realized they all had orange aprons on I approached one who finally asked if I needed help. I told her what I needed then she called another person to go outside to get a bar code and while they did this she had the nerve to ask me to move aside so she could help someone else who was waiting!!! This 5-star rating is solely based on this one visit and due in ALL parts to Casey in the paint department. We visited this location on June 10, 2017. We brought in two different colored pieces of painting from the walls in hopes of matching the colors. We started searching all the paint swatches. And I was successful in getting close to the colors, but wanted a second opinion from the guy behind the counter. None of the colors I had selected were dead on, but Casey explained what I thought I had recalled. Home Depot can take a sample of whatever (wall, sofa, etc) and match the color. He was able to do that. He was patient with us. One of the items didn't have a color name assigned to it, so we were able to name it. While we were waiting for our paint to be mixed, he received a phone call from a customer who asked if she could return an item without a receipt. Instead of making something up, he stated what he believed to be the case, but suggested that she contact the specific department on Monday. Casey was so helpful, patient and displayed manners. From appliances to plants, we have ordered online and pickup everything without having to leave the car. The employees bring everything to your car and load it up for you. The staff here is so nice! The context: My wife bought a gas dryer from home depot and we later realized we needed an electric dryer for our new property. I thought it wouldn't be a big deal to return the gas dryer--which was still in box and never opened-- and get the correct appliance but home depot handled this completely wrong to the point that I had to take my business to Lowe's and buy the correct appliance. I was taking back some insulation and pipe fittings and had to deal with the return desk. One over bearing person working and 2 employees standing around while we waited in line. I love this place and come here pretty often. But the reason for my review is specifically for the rug department. I had a healthy budget of $500 to spend on an area rug for my livingroom. I was going from site to site online and had finally struck gold. I had found home depot online. The prices were just amazing. The size area rug i was looking for was a 8×10 or bigger. I found a huge great looking soft rug for only $167! I saved soo much money. Over $300! Thankfully online it tells you if you can purchase it in store. Thankfully it was in stock. Woohoo! I live within one mile of my home depot so i was in and out in no time. Finding exactly what i was looking for with help from a very nice girl named jasmine. She was a great help wrapping my rug for me and escorting it to the register even. My experience was more than great. Fast easy and the customer service was on point as well. We wanted to see how big the coil was in side the box so we asked an employee if she could cut the clear tape just so we could see the actual size of the coil. My boyfriend and I were renovating our home so we were going back and forth to Home Depot & Lowe's for the past couple months. Every time we went to Home Depot, an employee always asked us if we needed help. We definitely want John, Mike, Christian and Chay to know that they are doing an amazing job and want to make sure they are recognized. As far as our visits to Lowe's, we were never acknowledged and seemed as if we were pests when we asked for help. From my experience, I would definitely avoid Lowe's from the unsatisfactory service. Home Depot shows very satisfying customer service and am happy to be a loyal customer. Service from Home Depot: John - He is our Home Depot guru. He knows a lot about the products in the store. If he doesn't know, he will find out. We find him everywhere and he always has knowledge about products we may be interested in. Mike - He is always very helpful and does what he can for us. We feel very comfortable going to him for any questions or concerns. Christian - He will go out of his way for us. He goes above and beyond to help us find what we are looking for. He is very personable and will take the time to make sure we are set before we leave. Chay - He is quick to ask us if we need help. He lead us to the right people for what we were looking for. Home Depot has definitely showed us that they cared about our needs. It just so happened that the last night we were at Home Depot...3 of the 4 guys from different departments were in the Customer Service area and I snuck a picture (look at photos). I am giving the store a 0. I really liked Jackie, in the blind dept. she once again was a great help, and made experience with her a 10. I needed help in lifting a bag of soil, not one person to help in garden. Asked a man if he could help, he said oh no, I do not work for Home Depot. He was an outside delivery man, I guess. I said u mean u cannot help a 67 yr old lady lift 2 bags of soil into the cart? Oh no, Home Depot would get mad. I did it myself. Should have walked out, but needed to pay for the blinds. Then off to lumber dept., to get some cold patch asphalt. Looked in one half of the store. Not one person to help me decide which bag it was, and to help lift. Went to two people, one up front, and one in door dept, which she tried to help. No one ever came to me. Left feeling so frustrated, that I made a promise to myself never to go back. Ace may be the place. Who cares if it is a bit more expensive, at least someone is at the front door, in Hollister, to greet you and assist any way possible. No need to get a comment back, overall experience was awful, except for Jackie. One more issue, I asked for some household vinegar when arriving at the store. Down that isle. Could not find it, went back to front, some guy said oh, we do not carry it. I said u always have. He said not all Home Depot's carry same stuff. Happens, an older gentleman, another employee, walked me to where it was, and it was behind other stuff. At least he cared, should have gotten his name. I think the younger staff could give a shit, and just want to ride around on the fork lift, and get a ck. Very, very, sad.
