This has been an experience from hell!! I would give them less than one or a minus rating if I could. We ordered a patio door and had them measure the space for accuracy. They gave us a 6am to 8 pm window for arrival. Day 1 they never showed up or contacted us. Day 2 they contacted us late in the afternoon to tell us they had car trouble and weren't coming. Day 3 they came and measured. Then we ordered the door. Again we had a 6am to 8 pm window of estimated arrival. Day 1 they again never showed up. Day 2 they called at about 1:30 to say the door was damaged and they wouldn't deliver it. Why they didn't inspect the door before loading it on their van I don't know. We personally had to cancel that damaged door and reorder another. The store wouldn't take care of it. On day 3 the door finally came. We hired a handyman to install it because the price Home Depot quoted was more than twice what 2 others quoted us. When our handyman came he found the size written on the door was inaccurate. The door was something like 70"x80", but the sticker on it said it was 60"x80, the size I needed. I am now waiting for them to pick up the inaccurately sized door and take it back. I've again been given a 6am to 8pm window of arrival. I've had the worst time dealing with this store and am back to where I first started. If you want to spend your time waiting at home from 6am to 8 pm day after day, buy at Home Depot. If your time has value, buy somewhere else. I can't imagine a worse experience that I had dealing with Home Depot. read more

I purchased a dishwasher on July 3rd from Home Depot and paid for the install and parts needed to do so. About 3 weeks ago it stopped working (no power to the dishwasher). After GE coming to repair, they ordered parts and rescheduled appt to complete repair. After receiving in the mail, 2-3 weeks later they came back to repair. The tech looked at the dishwasher and stated I needed to call an electrician there was still no power to the dishwasher and he couldn't install new parts to try to fix it. I called an electrician and he said the Home Depot authorized installer CUT the chord to expose the wires and "rigged/stuck together" the wires to something to make it work WITHOUT MY PERMISSION not to do it correctly. I paid $175 to have a plug installed and now I need Home Depot to replace the chord or dishwasher. Customer service said installation has only a 48 hour warranty! Older house requires different installation. This could have been lethal! read more

Very disappointed with the kids workshop. The two young ladies that are always there told me that I couldn't stay because of the time , I got there before 12 o'clock. I' got there exactly 1130. So they still had 30 minutes left. I live in this house alone and your dear sweet delivery man and installer said they could not install this refrigerator even though the one that is supposed to been taken out is the side-by-side. They got it in this house but it was a Lowes that did it. Went to this location to purchase a much needed refrigerator . Experience was fine in the store. Things went left at time of delivery. The refrigerator showed up damaged after spending so much $$ on it. I was told we would be getting compensated for the damage and inconvenience bu that I had to accept the damaged refrigerator in order for them to give the compensation and replace it . After 2 weeks without a fridge and my parents both being elderly and diabetic we accepted the refrigerator out of the urgency need of it. Was told to call next day I told the rep I did not trust the process why couldn't she just correct everything after we had been on the phone for over 45 minutes she gave me the run around quoted me a certain amount of discount . So come today I call and what happens the story has completely changed and they can no longer give us the amount they had said for the inconvenience and damage are treating me as if I am lying and making up things. They do not stand by their word very inconsistent . This whole situation has been very discouraging, frustrating and will not ever be shopping at Home Depot for something this major. This store needs to be educated on service animal laws. There is no such thing as registration. There is no requirement to show proof of a service dog. A store is only permitted to ask two questions 1.) is this a service animal 2.) what tasks is this dog trained to perform. This store is governed by the Americans with Disabilities Act and TX HB 489 just like any other. I will be submitting a civil rights violation to the Department of Justice if I am not contacted. The employee walked away and would not let us buy the items we drove to get. I was not going to allow the handler to suffer for this but she was so anxious she had to leave. I start my review with a question: what ever happened to customer service? To the employee at the lumber section, who cut ONE piece of 1"x12"x8' primed pine board into three pieces: would you, as a customer, like to have an employee roll their eyes when requesting that? No, I don't think so! If you didn't want to help me, then tell me, and I can find one of your co-workers in that department to help me with my request. I actually smiled, and treated you with respect because you knew how to handle the large saw, and no way in hell I was going to touch it. The second goes to his fellow employees at the appliance department, and the flooring department. At least, they both asked if I needed some help. The female employee at the appliance department was helpful because I had a hard time looking for a water filter for my refrigerator. The male employee at the flooring department, which included the laminated book shelves that I was looking for, was also helpful. He actually referred me to the lumber department because he advised me that real wood would do better when it gets cut instead of laminated wood which breaks apart when it gets cut. I wish I got both of their names so I can give a shout-out for their helpfulness. I'll keep on shopping at The Home Depot when needed, but, man, customer service is so unbalanced. read more

When you order multiple appliances, understand that your delivery date is, at best, etched in dust. If there's a single item on back order, you won't receive a thing until it's all available. Don't bother complaining, as the most management will do is shrug, apologize, and blame the policies of the delivery service they hire. Unfortunately, hollow apologies don't serve the customer, and gone are the days when one takes responsibility for the actions of the people in their hire. Calling their delivery service won't help either, as they send you through an automated maze with precious little human contact to be had. We ordered four appliances from The Woodlands store (#6516) back in June (an LG fridge and an oven, microwave, and dishwasher from GE). We set the delivery date for August 2, during our vacation time. Just last week we were told that two of the GE items are on back order and that the anticipated delivery date has been arbitrarily pushed back to August 13. Then we were informed that we won't even see our LG fridge until the GE items get sorted out. The fact that our fridge is collecting dust at the Dupar warehouse just 23 miles away is immaterial. (Yes, that was the one piece of valuable information I could extract from Corporate Customer Service.) The only other information I got from Corporate Customer Service was why a $108 billion company couldn't intervene on their customers' behalf. The agent said, "We cant tell a third party company what to do." Obviously, money talks only when it wants to. We finally did reach the delivery service, and we asked why they couldn't at least deliver our fridge on the date we'd established. The delivery representative told us (and I quote) "it wouldn't be convenient to make two deliveries." You read that right: their company's convenience trumps their customer's convenience. Today I called the GE customer support line. They gave me a new delivery service number. I called it, and was immediately forwarded to (you guessed it) the automated Home Depot delivery service. The managers at Home Depot 6516 can blame everyone they want to, but they can't change the fact that their store itself will forever be the face of this fiasco. Home Depot chose to associate with this delivery service, but then they shirked their responsibilities when that delivery service failed. Any business that truly cares for its customers will have a Plan B when Plan A fails. Home Depot's Plan B is for my family to eat off of a hot plate or break the bank dining out until someone in their ranks finds the gumption to hold up their end of the deal. So if you're considering Home Depot for your kitchen appliances needs, just repeat the mantra: "Company convenience trumps the customer's convenience. Still just as terrible as ever. The knobs on my tub needed to be replaced and my dad loves going to this Home Depot because it is the closest to both of our homes. I like to go to the one on Hillcroft because even though its a short drive I normally can find what I am looking for or at least get someone to help. Well today, Yu Z was manning the plumbing department...well not really. There was a lady on the aisle waiting for assistance before us and she said she had asked them to call someone to come to the plumbing aisle. About 15 minutes later a guy passed by and we thought he might be looking for us and we asked if he worked in plumbing and he said nope and as he ran off he said he would call someone to come to the aisle. Yu Z came about 10 minutes later and helped a gentlemen...Well he sorta helped. He told the man "Well look this is just what you are gonna have to do, I don't know what else to tell you." So imagine it in a Wanda Sykes type attitude and there you have it. My dad and I looked at each other and were both like hellz no...So we left and went to another store. I did mention it to a customer service worker as I left the store and she said that the dude working back there was normally in electric...I am not surprised. This store has gone to H-E -double hockey sticks. I have spent more than $14,000 at this Home Depot (from October 5 - end of November) in remodeling my entire house. The final purchase was Vinyl Windows (double pane) and Patio door.....which cost me $3,200 Home Depot sent out a representative to measure each windows and the Patio Door. After 2 weeks, they delivered all the Windows and the Patio Door (which they charged me $85). I have 11 Windows....and I found out during installation that only 4 (FOUR) Windows were correctly measured!! The other 7 (SEVEN) Windows were the WRONG SIZES!!! They were smaller than the old windows!! Because of that, I had to REFRAMED the windows to make them fit!! When I told this to the Manager and the Store Manager, they did NOTHING!!!! I spent 4 days in reframing the windows and ADDITIONAL COST of $1,000 for 7 (SEVEN) Windows!! I told them I spent more than $14,000 and this is how they treated me??? Really bad customer service. We even walked up to a group of employees when we needed help, who had a manager talking to them about customer service, completely ignored us. If anything that would've have been a perfect opportunity to show your employees what customer service is. There were a ton of employees standing around and only 1 checkout open. The only way we were helped was when we asked to see a manager at which point I was immediately ushered to a Returns checkout, where I was then checked out. 4/3/2018: This one is specifically about the online orders and return counter. There were 3 employees behind the counter and 2 of them were actively engaged for 4-5 minutes in a conversation with a customer (nothing to do with the transaction itself). Just chattin'. Meanwhile, while I was at Online, a customer showed up in Returns and he was just standing there. Like me, no one acknowledged him, and continued to chat with the customer about NOTHING in particular. When I pointed to the guy in returns, one of the ladies behind the counter said, "we see him." OK. When I asked "can someone help me with my online order?", I was ignored. So, the Returns guy walked over to Online to see if they would notice him. No such luck. What?! June 23, 2017: We have had such a frustrating experience with this Home Depot location. We'd have to order the same three appliances with them now 3 times after multiple mistakes on their part - wrong color ordered, the entire order being cancelled by home depot on accident, change in delivery dates, having to change forms of payment, etc. Our initial order took almost 2 hours to place with two different employees because their staff do not understand the store's ordering system. We've had to visit this store multiple times throughout this process just to find out that the one person who could help isn't there at that time. Sadly, this has really scarred our first home-owning experience when it should be a happy and exciting time. Instead of packing and moving into our new home, I'm dealing with appliances that can't be delivered when we planned due to this store's mistakes and multiple charges to different credit cards after things were cancelled and reordered. 2 Weeks Later: Now over two weeks later and we have still not been issued a proper refund. According to Home Depot customer service our credit card was refunded for a couple of hundred dollars, but 1.6k was refunded in cash. I never received any refund at all in cash. Leads me to wonder if their employees are "refunding" people and pocketing the cash. This is highly upsetting with almost 2k sitting on my credit card for an item that was cancelled. Home Depot seems to have 3 grades of stores. The ones near affluent homes sell higher end goods while the ones near working class areas are more into sales of building materials. This store is somewhere in the middle and a grade 2 store IMHO. It does not offer tool rental service like grade 1 stores do. Otherwise, it is you standard Home Depot. The store is clean and orderly but the lanes are too narrow. Also, the management seems to go very lean on cashiers. At best one register is open and one person is running the self checkout stations. You can park near the garden center and have speedy checkout there. A HUGE mistake the management made was to allow people to park under the contractor checkout shelter. People backing out and going to spaces while others are loading up their goods is a bad idea. Very recently the driveway on the Westbury Square side has anywhere from 5-15 illegal aliens hanging out to get day labor jobs. Nevermind that it is illegal to solicit for work in the streets. HPD and the Harris County Constables Office are turning a blind eye to this problem. Well, at least it is not like on the Gulf Freeway store that has 75+ illegals in the lot of which 2 or 3 will come up to your car and load up your items for a tip if you can not hire them. read more

These folks are racist against white people. First time I came in, I asked a sales clerk if he would help me when he was finished. He said yes. Then helped 2 black people and one Hispanic. Then went to lunch. Maybe I was wrong. So I bought a flashlight and left. Went home and the flashlight was broken. Took it back to the store within 3 hours and was treated terribly by the clerk. It's a great place to shop if you are white and don't need any help. Otherwise hope you are some kind of minority. read more

This was at 10:30 am AND after several customers had already walked away because the gate was locked. There was a cashier there but no way to get out. I left my $100+ purchase on the cart and left. The customer service here is on point to me. Every time I have shopped here, I'm greeted, & someone is more than willing to help. I have even had the pleasure of meeting the manager that was on duty. I believe his name was John, not sure. He was a tall, Caucasian male & extremely pleasant. I had a problem with a special order delivery of two of my appliances & he was so helpful. They went above & beyond to assist me. I absolutely love this Home Depot. I have shopped at other ones, but I'm just so much more comfortable at this location. This review is about Home Depot Westbury Square, Houston. My house got flooded by Hurricane Harvey and came to this location to choose the tiles. Got verbal quotes for the materials ($1.88/SF) and installation ($.89/SF). Paid for the measurement. The written quote came back at $13,500 with an installation fee of $5/SF! Yesterday morning, I called the store and talked with one of the associates. She said she would talk with her manager and see what she could do. I also reached out to the staff who made the quotes the day of my ordering. She said she's as shocked as I did and would call me back two hours later. Never called. After lengthy transferring and waiting on the line yesterday afternoon, I was told there is nothing they could do. Per them, the promotion of installation ($.89/SF) applies to buyers who buy a combination of carpet, tiles and laminate at the same time. This is nonsense. We never talked about laminate. Home Depot even didn't offer to refund my $35 measurement fee until I asked for it. Today I talked with the store manager who said another conflicting info: I'll be qualified for $.89/SF ONLY FOR laminate. My house was flooded and laminate is NOT flood resistant. I asked for tiles from the beginning! As a consumer, the feeling of dealing with Home Depot after a disaster? Being cheated and ripped off. They're making a fortune out of people who lost heavily due to the hurricane. But no sympathy, no honoring of the quotes made verbally. Shame on you Home Depot! read more
