I had a very disappointing experience at the The Home Depot Livermore store on March 28, 2026 at around 8:55 AM. I went in for a simple return, but the associate named Tracey was rude and unprofessional during the interaction. The attitude and behavior were not acceptable and completely ruined my experience as a customer. I have already reached out through text and email but have not received any case number or response yet. I also called the store, and an associate manager answered, but there has been no follow-up so far. As a regular customer, I expect basic courtesy and professionalism. I hope store management, including Store Manager Shannon Johnson, takes this seriously and ensures better customer service so others don't not face similar issues. read more

I am so tired of buying product off the shelf that has been used. Got a box of stainless steel screws, $20. The bit was missing and dont even know how many screws were missing. Damn it people, if something is returned it is in incumbent of the store to make sure its ALL THERE before you put it back. PEOPLE LIE SO THEY CAN GET THEIR MONEY BACK. Customer service is seriously lacking. It felt like the employees couldn't care less whether we were helped or not. Andreah, who works in the Mill Works area and claimed to be the manager, was incredibly rude and off-putting. We waited patiently while she assisted another customer. After about 10 minutes, she told us the person who usually handles our request was on vacation and to go to Pro Services to speak with Norm. We did, only to be told Norm was on break. We waited another 20 minutes. When we asked Andreah for an update on Norm, she snapped, "I don't know, I don't have a tracker on him." Absolutely no professionalism or sense of customer care. Disappointing and frustrating all around. We got back in line, only to be told by Norm that our order couldn't be processed. The entire experience was a complete waste of time. I'm not sure why people are knocking on this Home Depot location. I have frequented so many Home Depot's all across the Bay Area and even other states, and I will say this is my favorite Home Depot. They keep it clean, it's never too crowded and the staff are all very nice and helpful. I once locked my keys and cell phone in my van, Norm at the front desk took his time to help me. Allowed me to use the phone to call my wife and insurance company. The cashiers and customer service are all always friendly. Is Home Depot perfect of course not. Are there times you need help and nobody is there and you have to wait, sure. But until you've gone to other HD's all around, you will appreciate this location a lot more. read more

BBQ delivery was promised for a specific date. Party planned accordingly. No show on the promised date. No show the following day. No phone calls and no emails from them to explain or to give a new ETA. If you call the delivery help line you get an AI generated minimally helpful "voice" (or a very, very robotic person). My impression is, Home Depot is good if you know exactly what you want, walk into the store, purchase it on the spot, and carry it away yourself. Otherwise, what a disaster of a customer experience. read more

Came in because I needed a new drill and of course it was locked up. I waited roughly 10 minutes before someone came and he wasn't even apart of the hardware department. He really went above and beyond and he encouraged me to buy a more expensive (but more efficient) drill! I think his name was Kylan or Kylen. Cool kid. Good store. Definitely coming back! read more

Came in to make a copy of my car key, Ricky from the hardware department was able to assist us with this task! The best customer service we've had in a while. I flagged another employee and said he can't help me because he is going on lunch break. Waited for another 10 minutes then I left. I will never come back and I will warn everyone I know . Despite asking for assist an and seeing several employees walk by, none offered help, the self-checkout attendant paged for assistance then pointed us back to the paint section. Frustrated, I eventually decided to leave. On my way out, I noticed two employees casually chatting, I'll be taking my business to Lowe's. read more

Back in July of 2024, I went to Home Depot, Lowe's, and Costco to check out the sheds. We decided to go with the Home Depot because we liked the quality of the Tuff Shed better than the other options. Home Depot was running a promotion where the upgrades were 50% off. I went multiple times to the store and was directed to multiple people who knew little about Tuff Shed and the options. Eventually, after multiple phone conversations with the Home Depot Tuff Shed rep, I agreed to place the order over the phone to take advantage of a sale that was ending the next day. Because of the price, I went with a larger shed, that did require a permit, which I was aware of. I looked up the price of the permit and it was reasonable and I agreed. Here is what you need to know before. Tuff Shed engineering is a very lengthy process and the City of Livermore has very specific permit requirements for the larger sheds, over 10'x11'. Unaware to us, this shed required a continuous perimeter footing. For anyone looking at permitting a shed, it may be less stressful to go with a shed contractor and pay the extra. I was not aware of all the hidden costs and the schedule delays. I wish I knew. ORDERING: Payment was made to Home Depot over the phone and Home Depot never sent a receipt for the order, nor did I receive a confirmation from Home Depot that detailed the upgrades. Tuff Shed contacted me right away and we started moving on the order and they had their own set of paperwork to sign, so I didn't worry about the Home Depot paperwork. What I found out later was that Home Depot also forgot to include a $1500 multi-day build fee that I later had to pay to Tuff Shed. First two red flags - no detailed receipt or confirmation & the oversight on the required multi-day build fee. This also was an issue at the end of the project because I couldn't see what I paid for to approve a change order to the foundation. ENGINEERING: Because of the footing and foundation requirements from the City, I paid an additional $6700 to a concrete contractor and had multiple resubmittals to the city and lost time from work to deal with the plan revisions and meet with contractors. One of the resubmittals that Tuff Shed proposed included a foundation at a height requiring two steps. I refused to go with that version. Two steps did not make sense for a shed. I pushed back to Tuff Shed, got clarification at the city and the drawings were adjusted. This shed is really for garden tools and storage and I didn't need to pull the lawn mower up and down stairs. This is when I realized that Tuff Shed is not engineering the project as they claim and the customer pays at the initial build (line item for engineering). Tuff Shed has a few generic engineering templates for their sheds. It appeared as though they tried multiple submittals to see which one would pass. This is at the customer's expense. Multiple trips to the city, hiring of an additional contractor, and costing the customer more money and delaying the project. This is a poor business practice of Tuff Shed. Engineering is part of their price, a good chunk. They should be aware of the city permitting requirements. This mistake cost me (the customer) time and money. SCHEDULING: Because I purchased my Tuff Shed in summer, I expected it would be built within a few weeks or at least fall. I was told the factory was in San Jose. Another reason we chose to go this way. Initially, we put our shed items on the back patio with a tarp. As time went on and the winter rains came, I had a handyman build a temporary shed (subfloor and Costco carport) to house the shed items until the new shed could get up. I was not aware that it would be until the following summer for install. We are going on 8 months. Today we finalized the last change order. Yeah! I ended up asking to speak with the manager at Tuff Shed, San Jose to express my concerns with the process and paperwork and he was very dismissive. It was even more insulting than the rest of the process. The whole process feels like paying protection fees or extortion fees to the local street gang. All in all, I just want to say be careful about a sale or a good price at Home Depot and Tuff Shed. It may be better to work with a local handyman or shed builder who is familiar with the city requirements and prides his business on quality work and customer referrals. These guys do not. Home Depot makes a mistake, customer pays. Tuff Shed makes a mistake, customer pays. All in all, I'm in $8200 on top of the initial shed price for mistakes or oversights. The reason for the review is that literally every associate we walked by were super friendly, pleasant, said hi and asked us if we needed help finding anything. In store service was excellent when ordering my new appliance. The staff was very helpful and friendly. However, delivery service is less than stellar. I was told I would receive a delivery window the day before scheduled delivery. The contracted delivery company wants to call me at 6:30 am on a Saturday, to deliver a washer by 7 am. Who does that??! I called the company to request a later time due to scheduling conflicts and was told they could not accommodate my schedule. Customer service is completely lacking at this point. Friendly staff when I called and someone answered the phone. I wasn't on hold for too long. I called to ask if they had the free "Home Depot Kids Workshop Kit" as I've been meaning to try this out for the last year but haven't had the chance to yet. Currently they have a really cute Santa tray that can be put together. I called to ask if they had it available and the staff member said "yup, just come in and ask for it at customer service." It wasn't long after that we dropped in but there was no kit. It was nice that they checked in the back for it but no kits. Maybe they will get the order in later? Not sure but we were a bit disappointed. Otherwise despite this experience, I think this Home Depot is pretty good and continue to buy from this store and also purchase items online for pickup. Also haven't had problems returning items. I really like the decorations around the store during the holidays and I appreciate that they are careful about social distancing in that they allow only a certain amount of people in the store at a time. Also the line seems to move quickly outside even though it can look daunting. There's ample parking but you will need to dodge the homeless who live in the creek or live in vehicles in the parking lot. read more

Great place to get supplies if you don't need assistance. If you're getting interior paint other than white I recommend going to an actual paint store. Asked for help 4x and wasted 20 mins waiting for someone to come and no one ever came. All i got was "i'll call, i'll text". 20 mins don't sound long but standing in front of a counter, 20 mins feel forever especially if you have a project waiting to be completed by sunset-not a waiting room for a doctors appt. Hate I had to write this since this location is convenient but service can be a joke. Ended up leaving luckily i got other stuff I needed lol. read more

I was assisted today with a pull up bar and lock nut I was having trouble with. The first person directed me to the zone/aisle of the floor I should walk to for assistance. Direct, efficient and polite to refer me. He had blue hair in case management checks this out. Then at the Tools section I was assisted by someone who went out of their way to try various clamps on the bar and its parts I was having trouble with. I felt no pressure to purchase and got genuine feedback for whether HD could provide a product that worked for my situation. He was wearing vest that said Veteran on it with the army print. I noticed a review that actually called this place discriminatory. In contrast, I'd note these two very polite people: a young person with blue hair to a certainly older veteran who came down from his shelving ladder to hear me better. Both did their job well with genuine enthusiasm. I didn't buy because HD is pretty pricey, but I got the right and proper service. Thanks! read more

The associate forced my product through the security bars, which I guess I could have done. Then no checkout lines are open, and half of the self check stands are closed. OMG can they get any worse. Ok I went to home Depot and looked at there appliances (Bosch rang & Refrigerator) almost $5,000. At the store (Livermore,) the workers said that I had to buy it online. OK so far so good, I'm retired military and I like getting my 10% when buying stuff. I ask about the military discount and they no problem they will take care of that automatically. Went online bought the rage and refer set a delivery date 2weeks) and bam in it came and they connected them (for a charge of ?? ) now all is good get my bill for the full amount. So I called not once, not three time but 9 times I called to find out where my discount was. First person didn't know transfer to anther person phone discounts. I call back same thing. I persevered 9 times and finally got someone there that knew what to do. It went like this I'm calling about my military discount on the appliance s I just bought online. Answer Ho! You don't get a military discount. NO discount for the military. Better yet NO discount on appliances. Sorry is they anything else I can do for you? I said yes close my account. I will not be shopping at Home Depot anymore. I'd rather drive farther to Lowe's to shop. Each time I've come in here, nobody seems to know where anything is. I get responses of ... somewhere over there, should be around here somewhere, I don't know, stuff keeps moving, etc. It got to the point where I went to the customer service desk and showed them on my phone that it says they have the item in stock and if I order it now it's ready to pick up same day. For me to have to wave my phone saying I can just order this and someone has to eventually find it is ridiculous. Am I being punked? LOL Side note: maybe it's a good thing they never found it. Carl at the Livermore California Customer service desk is a breath of fresh air! Carl is personable, quick and efficient and he goes OVER and BEYOND for your customers. Carl needs to be commended for being EXCEPTIONAL at resolving Customer issues with a smile. I went in to pick up lights I bought online and there was a VERY LONG line and I thought it would take a long time but Carl was quick to move the line along and had a cheerful demeanor while doing so. I managed BIG BOX stores and I know how important it is to know star employees and CARL at your Livermore Location is DEFINITELY a STAR employee and should be commended. read more

I really wanted to file a lawsuit against #HomeDepot and its associate at the Sacramento branch who did fraud to me. Following is the order number I'd like to be investigated: Date Ordered: February 1, 2023 Order Number: WE14151183 Order Total: $248.13 I bought one item only (Seward Trunk Under the Bed Footlocker Black Storage Trunk: $113.46) from the Las Positas, Livermore, CA store. But when I went to return an item bought 3-months ago, instead of providing me the refund, they kept the item and canceled the unpicked item: Seward Trunk Seward Rover 30 in. Blue Trunk with Wheels and Lock which was never picked up. It seems that the associate at Sacramento cheated on me. I'd like to either have the unpicked item back or provide me the refund for the item returned at Sacramento before I file a police complaint. I'd also like #HomeDepot to investigate whether the Seward Trunk Seward Rover 30 in. Blue Trunk with Wheels and Lock was picked up at Las Positas, Livermore, CA. If not, then why was it released and canceled for the item returned in Sacramento, CA. Who did this? It was an awfully ridiculous experience with #HomeDepot and this store shouldn't be trusted at all! read more

Just came by to pick up a toilet seal and checked the box because I know how unreliable Home Depot can be, and low and behold inside the new box is an old used seal covered in poop stuffed in the box. As I write this review I'm still waiting for someone to help me in the paint section (been standing here for at least 20 minutes which is the most amount of time I've ever had to wait at any Home Depot) after two requests for help over the loud speaker. I'm amazed by the amount of employees on the floor walking around putting products back on shelves but their inability to make eye contact with you, have any sort of friendly disposition, or respond to a request for help at the paint area. Is the paint area haunted? It must be because no employee wants to step foot over here. read more

On 07/09/21 at 700 pm came to purchase a wood door molding. It needed to be cut for the right fit. I asked a female employee if i could get help cutting it. She asked me to stand by the cutting station so i did. She later comes to me and says i need to cut it by hand. I am currently temporarily disabled with a back issue and shoulder issue. So i was stuck cutting by hand rather for employee taking 30 seconds to cut on electric saw. Dont ask for help later in the day when store is empty. Obviously the employee did not want to do it and guess I interrupted her conversation with a coworker. Wow! Work on that customer service! read more
